I liked the part with the goldfish.
Nauseatingly rapid cuts, ugly high contrast colour grading, shots overlaid on other shots with different frame rates and digital shakey cam, tedious slow motion and pointlessly sped up footage, and the screen flashing white non-stop to the point that it literally hurt my eyes to look at it. It didn't matter if it was a high stakes shootout or somebody reading a computer screen, every single scene was edited to the same ridiculous degree.
What little plot Domino had wasn't even remotely interesting, getting more and more convoluted as it went. There were multiple instances of it showing things happen and then later revealing that they didn't, as though this was some clever misdirection instead of meaningless filler. Framing the whole thing as a flashback police interview was not only a tired cliché, but it removed any possible doubt about Domino's fate right from the start.
Being 2005, Domino was constantly portrayed as a badass but the only thing she actually did in the movie was be objectified and talk about how she wasn't like other girls. She resolved a standoff by giving a random guy a lap dance, and half the drama in the movie was about how she was so insanely hot but wouldn't sleep with the guy that had no personality yet felt entitled to her body anyway. When they later hooked up after being literally drugged with mescaline this was treated as a romantic development.
Also being 2005, an Afghani man whose name the other characters were too racist to bother learning sent a bunch of money to freedom fighters and then suicide bombed a tower. Really. There was another completely pointless scene in which a black woman went on Jerry Springer to explain some bizarre race theory she had developed, only to be ridiculed as stupid and promiscuous.
Domino is one of the best examples I've ever seen of something trying way too hard to be cool and consistently failing. I doubt this was even cool in 2005, and that's saying something; The 00's were chock full of lame shit people inexplicably considered cool. By the time the last act rolled around my brain was turning to mush. I could barely work out what was going on, and I don't just mean visually. There was no excuse for this to be two hours long.
A truly obnoxious movie. At least Keira Knightley looks hot with a cigarette and gun, so it wasn't a complete waste of my time.
#domino#domino 2005#movie review#what's that line: my dick has taken me places i wouldn't go with a gun#and my rebuttal: one day i will stop watching movies solely because there's one hot lady in them - but today is not that day

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q: Do you take requests?
A: Not really, but it depends. If you send me ideas, there's no guarantee I'll write them, but they do sometimes inspire me to create something—in which case you, of course, would get the proper credit! I also love to write prompts for my favorite characters, so feel free to send prompts whenever. The only thing is, again, I can't guarantee I'll write them, but I would love to see what I can do with your ideas!
Q: What does your posting schedule look like?
A: There is no consistent posting schedule because... well, quite frankly, I'm a very chaotic writer. I write when inspiration strikes and I typically get too excited to not post it right when I finish it. I'm also employed full-time off the screen, and that can often lead to me being too busy to stay on a consistent schedule. I try to at minimum aim for one new piece/update a month!
Q: Do you have any tips for posting stories on here?
A: My biggest tip is always that you should write and post what you want to write and post about. The fastest way to give yourself burnout is to cater to an audience, because then your writing starts to feel mechanical. It's definitely a slow-going process to build up your audience, but the longer you keep at it, the more of a chance you have at collecting readers! Of course, it's also important to note the relevancy of your media basis, as writing about characters/shows/etc. that aren't currently releasing will make it harder to get attention.
Q: What does your Star Wars background look like?
A: I've been a Star Wars fan literally my entire life, because my dad raised me on the franchise! I couldn't stop watching the prequel trilogy when I was little, and I even used to play the original Star Wars Battlefront when I was in kindergarten (and I always played as the clones on Kamino, which makes so much sense now). I've had other hyperfixations/interests as I've grown up, but Star Wars was always there, especially with the sequel trilogy and other movies coming out. When The Mandalorian came out in 2019, though, the franchise finally became my biggest hyperfixation, and it's been that way ever since!

Ok, finally watched Deadpool and Wolverine. Thoughts:
spoilers ahead
Things I liked:
-Cavillrine. Wade should've name dropped "those shitfucks down the street" as warner bros execs specifically but I know it wasn't viable. Henry you're my true superman (and Geralt) forever.
-Hugh Jackman, obviously. He always puts his everything into this character and it's beautiful.
-Backstreet boys' Bye bye bye in the beginning (cheeky nod to Wade swinging both ways? Or all the ways actually)
-Soundtrack in general. I have the impression that they tried to use songs that were popular at the time the fox films they referenced were released and that was sweet. Pure nostalgia.
-Is it just me or the fights between Logan and Wade felt a lot bit homoerotic at times? Especially the car fight. Not just the coreography but like.. the camera slowly panning away while showing the car shaking up and down as the daylight fades? Like, damn. okay. I see what you did there..
That and the other little moments where they weren't fighting but were in close proximity/contact with each other bc reasons. Good job u guys. 10/10 👍🏼
-X23. I'd really like to see her back as the main timeline x23 but i don't trust Disney to not fuck this up.
-All the cameos really. Channing Tatum was avenged too by finally being able to play gambit which is good tho I wish he had the black and red eyes from the cartoons that would've been cool. But yeah he was really funny. (My fancast for main timeline Gambit is still Josh Hartnett tho, that being said Channing was still a good Remy)
-Cassandra was a nice surprise, I didn't know that character or the actress and she made a surprisingly fun creepy villain.
Things I didn't like or threw me off bc im too much of a nerd to not notice:
-Vanessa being fridged without actually being fridged. She was in this movie even less than in the movie where she got killed?Someone really "didn't want to share the spotlight" this time lol
-No but seriously, the reason they broke up wasn't clear/didn't make much sense to me, although I have to praise the acting. I think they just wanted an excuse to make Wade spiral again but they don't know what to do with a no-powers character in a superhero movie unless they're a male comic relief?
-The staples on the head gag. It was funny at first but. regenerative powers. His body should have pushed them out at most a couple seconds after, like it does with bullets. They could still have made a joke out of it.
-And I actually only realized this after watching the film but shouldn't Wolverine also not be able to get drunk bc of his powers? In Deadpool's game Wade can't get drunk bc of exactly bc of that and in Catfa Steve can't get drunk while mourning Bucky for the same reason. And I'm pretty sure his regenerative powers are pretty mild compared to Logan and Wade's.
-They missed a chance to throw in a zip it Mr Darcy. or Tom. Both would've worked. Personally I'm partial to Mr Darcy cause I'm a 2005 p&p stan and I haven't watched Succession yet but yk either would've been good.
-A lil peck between Yukio and Negasonic would've been nice 🥺
-Things I wished would've happened even though most of it can't bc Disney, but a girl can still daydream dammit:
-Gwenpool
-T-rex-pool
-Mention of Logan being poly with Jean and Scott (it's my hc regardless)
-Pyro having had a enemies to enemies who fuck thing with Iceman at an earlier point in time (also my hc regardless)
-Mention of how ooc and creepy and completely nonsensical cap's "ending" was.
-Mention of Stucky
-The tva actually being evil
-Domino. I miss her. Actually all the X-Force members that were missing except for the vanisher for obvious reasons. Fuck that guy. My hc is that Wade saved all of them anyway. Except for, again, the vanisher.
-The timelines get fixed to keep existing when their franchises die. They keep on going we just don't see them anymore. I think implying that they die when hollywood doesn't make movies about them/they are not canon anymore is dismissive of fanworks. The multiverse should be infinite and all the stories imagined about a character whether it's "canon" or not exist somewhere no matter how terrible or ridiculous or wonderful it is. We just so happen to get to see only a handful of them in live action.
-Karl Urban as an alternate Wolverine (he's my fancast for the main timeline logan).
-The fact that if Ben Affleck got a subtle jab, Brad Pitt should've gotten 2. Non subtle ones. At all. Idk about you but I think physical abuse is a liiil worse than cheating. Just saying.
-Vanessa having powers. Hear me out: I know that her powers in the comics are basically the same as Mystique's (she's even blue too) BUT they could've made her be like that chick from Heroes that could do anything she saw other people do just by watching them. I would've been different enough from Mystique AND it would've still made sense with her superhero name being Copycat.
-Vanessa and Wade being polyamorous too
Conclusion: I think I might prefer deadpool 2 a juust a tad bit but I still really liked this one :) . It's definitely much better than anything mcu has being releasing lately
Ps: Johnny sweetie ilysm but you're a fucking idiot
Ps²: Wade sweetie ilysm but you absolutely were responsible for it, you didn't have to quote him on that.
Ps³: RIP nicepool I'm sure you were good papa to dogpool no matter how jealous prime deadpool was. Also I loved The Proposal.

Everyone who has ever, even slightly, been Robin
*In official, DC-endorsed media
Total: 100 (i think)
FYI:
my definition of a ‘Robin’ is extremely vague. For example, I’m counting Lois Lane because she went to a costume party as Robin, and I’m also counting ‘Boy’ from Batman: the Return of Bruce Wayne because he had the domino mask paint and was clearly a stand-in for Robin. Et cetera.
They’re organized chronologically by their first appearance as Robin
Also this is heavily dependent on DC Fandom Wiki, so please let me know if I missed anyone or if anything is inaccurate
KEY
Red = actually Robin for a significant portion of time (more than a few in-universe days & more than one issue/episode/movie/etc)
Italics = was never Robin in main continuity (i.e. Earth Two [before Earth One existed], Earth One, New Earth, and Prime Earth)

hey guys i thought i would share my biggest fear with you today so basically whenever they were still figuring out how to make 3D animation it was really trendy to just put characters in a infinite void of all one color. im sure it has a name or they were just too lazy too animate a background but that shit is psychologically haunting to me. a lot of my night mares are like this. best example off the top of my head is big welds domino world in robots (this is well animated but has the same vibe as the earlier animations
stuff that gives a similar energy but isnt 3D animated is like when youre on an elevated highway and all you can see is sky and other elevated highway so it gives the feeling of being in an infinite void. would love to hear about it if any one feels similarly

okay I just rewatched Robots (2005) and honestly? underappreciated movie.
the jokes are something a child would understand with humor you'd only get as an adult layered on top of it (my personal favorite being the "WHO WANTS TO GET FIXED?!" *crowd cheering* *dog whimpers* like what child is gonna get that???)
and the main premise of the movie being something that's such a parallel of today it's sad. (who would've thought that of all movies, this is the one to get thrown a dogdeball?) corporate greed literally killing the poor and making an elitist society with the main villain only caring about making the most money.
not to mention fender being a trans icon? genderqueer icon? I'm not entirely sure what he is but like, halfway through the movie he loses his legs and gets a skirt and piper just accepts it! she literally just goes "I have a sister!!" and it's not bad! she just openly accepts that! and no one bats an eye! and then fender uses his newfound ~feminine wiles~ to take out a slew of chop shoppers during the final battle
the way rodney almost gives up, multiple times, only to be convinced he needs to do something? cranks change of heart? the use of the upgrade rhetoric to cause problems? not to mention the domino symbolism with aunt fanny knocking over bits waiting to be repaired, actual domino's, and the new sweepers at the end, its rather fascinating
it's just such a good movie and I love it immensely. I highly recommend watching it just because
also the animation bit with the crosstown express swept me away as a child and it's still a fun scene to watch now as an adult (especially if you like rube goldberg machines or other such similar things) and it's just fun
not to mention it shows the power of protesting!!!! and the ability of the working class to fuck up the rich!!! the fact that ratchet literally gets fucked over at the end it's honestly kinda inspiring
it's just such a charming movie. go watch it
#robots#robots (2005)#robots (2005) spoilers#robots spoilers#god its so good#love this film#i want it to come back#it has its flaws#sure#since the film came out in 2005#but its still just so good even today#i want to do what robots did so badly

Heads up: mentions and discussion of depression and suicide ahead. Read at your own discretion.
Since my personal timeline is a mix of GDT movie and comic canon (in the comics Bruttenholm died in 1994 before the Cavendish Hall Incident, in the GDT film he died in 2004 killed by Kroenen-- which is death I use), The events of the Blood & Iron animated series is inspired by the GDT film, it has to be before October-November 2004. As stated in my last post, I set it in 2003 meaning it was right before the events of the GDT film.
I'm breaking this down chronologically; as both the influences of Rasputin and Hecate run deep.
1993-1994: The Cavendish Hall Incident and the Start of Things to Come
In 1993, Professor Bruttenholm, the three Cavendish brothers, and Sven Olafson would travel to artic circle after the promising 1989 expedition to Greenland that recovered relics that were dated to be older than most known civilizations (and brought Kar into the Bureau fold). This expedition would lead them to waking up Rasputin (and Sadu-Hem). Rasputin would control hi and wipe the memory from the Professor's mind-- leaving him with amnesia for that period of a time.
It is with the return of the Professor in 1993 that the reoccurring nightmares of "The Man in Black" begin to a now 7-8 year old Kar. While she was prone to seizures (later learned to be literally her mind and body literally trying to tear apart). A seizure attack would usually follow these dreams, leading to an increase of medical research leading to no answers.
In 1994, after the Cavendish Hall Incident would be the last big nightmare/attack. At the insistence of Hellboy, she would later give a drawing of "Man"; a child's scribbled portrait of Rasputin. The drawing was left in the files; only really becoming significant a decade later.
A year later, Kar would be move to New York and be under the care of Frankie Aster and Ava Cohen, in an attempt to normalize and acclimatize her. The nightmares would be infrequent but the attacks would remain, requiring occasional medical check ins and medication.
2003: Trumbolt Mansion Incident: A Family Reunited
After her graduation in May, Kar was officially made a BPRD Agent at 18, and accepted into a graduate program at Oxford-- deferring the attendance for a gap year (that winds up being almost 2). It was assumed to be more of publicity/goodwill thing, there was no expectation of any danger, and was allowed to join her family in the investigation of the mansion in her first "official" mission. Needless to say it was more than that; and in the conflict she would be revealed to her mother's attention. While she would not actively meet her mother-- but her mother would recognize her. In her conflict will Hellboy, Hecate would leave a cryptic message: the lesser serpent, the tool of her vengeance is within their midst.
The cryptic message wasn't exactly taken very seriously, though a vetting of agents and background checks leads nowhere, but the term lesser serpent only leads to relics from the 1989 expedition. With updated technology, scans reveal more to the sarcophagus, revealing things beyond the chiseling.
The Lesser Serpent was in their midst-- newly minted agent Kar. When the new was shared it was the first domino in the chain leading to the events of 2005. Hellboy had more faith in her than she did-- he trusted she'd never willingly put the Bureau in danger. She feared she'd become a loose canon, an unwitting puppet. However, those fear were kept to herself. Needless to say this turned into a sort of functional depression; staying out late, partying a bit more than she did in college now no longer worried about needing to wake up for class-- quietly concerning her parents.
2004: The Death of Bruttenholm and Russian Expedition
The nightmares started getting frequent and stronger right before the time Sammael was unleashed. After the first real serious episode in years, it was recommended she return to the Bureau for observation. She recovered shortly in November, enough to briefly meet Myers and to return to normal life-- a night out with friends turning tragic as agents escort her back. The man she called aba was dead.
She was present at his funeral. Speaking to no one, not even her moms, not even Hellboy. Grief does weird things, paired with the paranoia seeded in the last year. Now the Man in Black was trying command her rise, to wake. Tired of the nightmares, tired of the looming destiny she didn't want, tired of the pain, tired of the episodes. It was with that, she made a final decision.
Here's where it gets sad. Frankie and Ava did care, did report her missing but at 19 (a few months shy of 20), with a history of disappearing in the night, she wasn't considered high priority and as an adult they couldn't do much. Her moms begged the Bureau, but Manning put the many of the few. Stopping Rasputin in Russia (and saving the world) was a priority over finding Kar. Manning offered a token couple of agents, and took a calculated risk in not informing the big 3 about it until after returning from Russia.
While her moms dealt with an unhelpful NYPD and BPRD, the rest of her family was flying off to Russia, Kar stood in the Brooklyn Bridge, staring at the dark ocean below. If she was lucky her body wouldn't be found for a few days, if at all, depending on a few factors-- assessing her own death with the coolness of a forensic investigator. If she was to end it all, at least for once, after a life filled with decisions made for her, her end would at least be made on her own terms.
That was until a man in a black suit appeared from nowhere, like death himself. Unbeknownst to her then, an agent of her mother's. If she had the gift of foresight; Kar would have taken the cold depths of the East River over his talking her down a ledge, his offer of false comfort and succor --at least her suffering would have ended quicker...
Early 2005: The Order of the Ebon Serpent
It wasn't a few days after returning that new was broken to Hellboy. She'd already missing for almost two weeks at his point. Needless to he was furious-- even if deep down he agreed it would have been a distraction. He could have least tried before departing for Russia. Even though he should be recovering, he was at Frankie and Ava's first thing, back on the beat scouring five boroughs for clues.
One lead took him to another and another until an obscure occult society found itself in his crossroads: The Order of the Ebon Serpent.
Kate, Hellboy, Liz, and Abe had all pieced it together. The Order of the Ebon Serpent, a cult dedicated to finding and recovering the lesser dragon, stolen away from Mother Hecate's embrace and sealed away by the priests of Anum. Rumors had it they've been holed up in the Upper East Side since the height of spiritualism swept the nation. It was the lesser dragon that caught their attention.
Mother and daughter was reunited again; Hecate was recovered from the Trumbolt mansion by Erasmus Black, the immortal head of the Order and devotee. It was not a gentle or pleasant reunion. A defiant, suicidal daughter, an imperious mother expecting the loyalty commanded-- and quite literally demanding her body. Kar did want to die, but the prospect of her mother parading around in her body was worse than death.
The Bureau raid on the townhouse had disrupted the ritual, freeing Kar right in the nick of time. Hecate was destroyed a final, and with the bulk of her power gone, would spend her time now as limited, weaker form. (Leading to the events of Darkness Calls/Wild Hunt and the vacuum Nimue takes advantage of) Through this, the dragon and chthonic side were reconciled; Kar would no longer have seizure episodes at this point. The Bureau keeps her for a few month to recover, the events of the last year or so putting a toll on her mental health. It is soon after being deemed "stabilized", she was sent sent to the UK to start her studies without any notice given save her mothers. After a harrowing few weeks she acclimated.
2006: The Deal
When Bromhead sealed Hecate away, she had enough power left to meet her daughter in dreams. At first Kar was severely defensive, but the boogeymonster that haunted her life was a weakened and pitiful spirit by now. Kar had been deep in her studies at Oxford while the war between the witches waged under nose, unaware of the throne she was expected to inherit. A deal was brokered; another would take the role of Witch-Queen, but Kar would assume her mother's duties and obligation to the underworld-- only and only when Kar died.
Satisfied, Hecate would retreat to the shadows once again.
2017: The Lesser Dragon and the Dawn of the New World:
Kar had finally revealed her true Hem form only once-- her rage at the Black Flame triggering the final hold on herself in 2015. And yet against Rasputin in the final conflict she remained as herself. Taking the Monk's life as well as her own, using a ritual that bound him to her, the bargain with her mother would fall into action. The Man in Black would haunt her dreams no longer.
She would appear, once last time, in her iron maiden form to confirm the bargain, while not fully reconciled, their meeting is not hostile. One might consider it cold and business like. It is with Hellboy's blood and the sacrifice of the stone hand that would finally end the chain of events and bring about a new word, the rest of the Ogdru Hem sealed with their Jahad parent. Hecate, in her iron maiden form, would be the catalyst.
With the "birth" of the new world, an her successor chosen, what's left of Hecate's sprits retires to the depths of Tartarus, by her own volition-- her time is gone. It is her daughter's time now.

okay here are my combined takeaways from the director/producer commentary on robots (2005):
production designer william joyce was also a creative lead on rolie polie olie (started in 1998). so you may connect some stylistic similarities there lol
he and director chris wedge knew each other for quite a while before this and had been dreaming up this movie since, if I heard them correctly, they were teenagers?
the movie started from the setting, then characters and story were developed for it.
they took a Lot of pride in the setting, in figuring out how a world of metal people would function. artists would design Cool Things In The World and they would scramble to figure out where they could put it in the movie. they knew that including lots of background details would give the world life, and they were very happy to see it
if you don't remember the 3d animation scene in the early 2000s, you might not intuit that they were constantly amazed by what they were able to do. the technology was in a rapid stage of development, so there is physics and rendering in the complete movie that they simply could not have done at the start of production. these two were in constant awe of how good the movie looked
on that note, lighting was a big priority for them. they talked a lot about trying to find ways to texture and light metal so that it could look friendly, or so that the main characters would pop in a crowd.
the dominoes thing wasn't initially intentional. they were pretty late in production when they figured out that the way they would approach bigweld's reclusiveness would be Big Dominoes.
oh right, they were writing the story like As it was being animated. this was not a very linear production. the script was Not finished when they moved to the next steps.
they both liked to point out the Function of scenes. like "ok here's where we had to put in more exposition, here's where we had to introduce the stakes, this scene is important for letting the movie Breathe after all that action" etc etc. as part of that, they also liked to point out scenes that Didn't have a function, they were just extended gags or maybe at best helped to flesh out (hah) the world. they liked these scenes tho :) they took a lot of inspiration from buster keaton gags
there was originally a lot more stuff about cappy and from her pov :( her whole deal was that she was Also, like rodney, a small-town bot, but she upgraded herself in order to succeed in the industry. so that was like, her motivation to sympathy and to help the heroes. also that was the connection point between her and rodney from which they built their romance, which, was also, largely cut.
the voice actors never recorded together. at all. but would come back and do retakes when they heard the others' line reads.
they point out that robots is Almost a musical. which, yeah! it does feel like that! there are musical moments, or moments that feel like they Belong in a musical. but besides fender's singing in the oil song (which robin williams just. made. unprompted. bc of course he did) there's no actual singing.
bigweld has two designs, i never noticed! between the time the children's show was shot and the next time we see him, he got upgrades. apparently most other people didn't notice either so I'm glad I'm not alone lol
robots fun movie with a lot of love in it and these two seemed exceptionally proud of the result :)
#myaa#robots i love robots#they were just Constantly interrupting each other to say MAN look at that shot! this looks so good!! wow!!!#oh also ratchet's old lady jowls are like. plumbing tubes

No need to apologize ppl are busy I understand ;)
1: what’s their biggest pet peeve?
2: what’s something they both can’t agree on? Best spider-man actor, best Star Wars trilogy, etc…
3: what’s their favorite & least favorite animated Christmas movies?
4: is Jon & mar’is reaction the same as the duo when they react to: somebody getting hit in the nuts both real life & movie/cartoon, toliet humor, & the whole rikishi stink face thing?
5: for the duo, what’s the best gift they got for each other? I can see Jake giving Chris a blue domino mask with white lenses.
6: are the duo fans of the game awards? If so, what game are they hoping for win game of the year?
7: not really a question but I like the little fanfic snippet of “Lava bridges & you” would love to see a full fanfiction of that, would love to help to ;)
Thanks for your patience. It’s very appreciated ;-)@gothicghost2000
1) For Chris, while getting his superhero identity confused with Dick’s Nightwing is an all too common way to annoy him a bit, a far bigger one for him would be hearing and looking at comments of all sorts that claim Superman being a ‘lame’, ‘boring’, ‘Un-relatable’ and overall ‘dull excuse’ of a superhero who should step aside in favor of any other heroes, especially Batman, just because they’re ‘cooler’ and ‘edgier’. Yeah he doesn’t take it too kindly deep down of people having those thoughts about his adopted dad. Frankly neither Jon nor him is they would be honest.
For Jake, it’s from what he can admit is a tad bit more petty on his end and he apologizes for it. That said, do not mock the original Discowing in front of him. Jake looks up to that first suit his father made with pride and he will not be taking any badmouthing against it if he can help it, No siree. Not even family members are other Titans are safe from his objections to their opinions should they make fun of Discowing
2) Best Star Wars film (Chris votes on A New Hope while Jake firmly believes it’s The Force Awakens) , Best Pizza Place (Jake will always back the local Marv and George’s while Chris favors Shakey’s) , Fairly Oddparents (Jake) vs Jimmy Neutron (Chris) but most of all and most fiercely, the Best Godzilla film ever made (besides the 1954 OG; Chris champions Godzilla vs Monster Zero while Jake touts King of the Mosnters 2019 as the best)
3) Chris
- Favorite: Elf (2005) (Not just for the obvious reason of it being funny as heck but also since it deals with themes of adoption and trying to fit in, he can relate so well with Buddy)
- Least Favorite: Grandma Got Ran Over By a Reindeer (Mainly cause the song it’s based on just sounds too morbid for a cherry beat and tone)
Jake
- Favorite: The Muppet Christmas Carol (Alfred and him almost every single time at the family’s Christmas party do a karaoke of ‘A Thankful Heart)
- Least Favorite: The Nutcracker 3D: The Untold Story (Those visuals all throughout the movie….he can never get them out of his head no matter how hard he tries)
4) More or less almost the same though Jon is tad bit more likely to have a small chuckle with watching a Stink Face as long as it’s short and against a true heel. Mar’i also doesn’t cringe as hard with nut shots as she had seen her Dad pull that off during Father-Daughter patrols together sometimes and the reactions from the crooks who receive are pretty funny form a distance.
5) While Jake’s best gift for Chris was that mask as described, in turn thanks to Chris, Jake was given a rare one of a kind 12-inch replica of Voltron which being a fan of, all to well bringing a big smile to Jake’s face
6) They’re a bit more casual than most when it comes to those shows as the Duo really only enjoy the games they play and Jude on their own merits. That said as for this year, Chris and Jake are hoping for Super Mario Bros Wonder to win Game of the Year as they love that one
7) You know maybe later this month I can write a small snippet to expand it. Not saying it’s a guarantee but it’s certainly an idea now that you brought it up lol

4. A movie you like but wouldn't recommend - okay, look, tim burton's planet of the apes (2001) is terrible. it is. compels me though. (tim roth's performance alone is just...you madlad.) i watched it in cinema, loved it, no one i watched it with liked it, and it then proceeded to eat my fannish brain for a good long while.
17. A movie you never get tired of talking about - i don't get to talk to people about movies :< but uh... can we just quote monty python and the holy grail at each other? no? okay, a proper answer then... *brain crickets on max* okay, i'd need a refresher but i'm sure i'd love to talk about memento (2000) for a good while.
i would however sit anyone down to watch domino (2005) and any film by fatih akin (although those are Heavy), if that counts. (it doesn't.)
#i am so sorry my brain just has the memory files under ten feet of concrete#i remember Nothing#ask box adventures#reasons why notascreeypyasyouthink is awesome

Release Dates Are Never Concrete
I'm sure we all know the story at this point regarding ACROSS THE SPIDER-VERSE, and BEYOND THE SPIDER-VERSE... Which ostensibly is coming out on March 29, 2024...
It's become clear that it's likely not making that date... And if that entire Vulture article is true, an allegedly very strenuous and unethical production of ACROSS THE SPIDER-VERSE... It makes one wonder why BEYOND is dated for this coming March, and why it *still* is...
Over the years, I've learned that release dates are really not for us or even audiences...
The release date, more often than not, is to whet the appetites of investors. To tell them what to expect, and to get them all excited about what's coming in a certain fiscal quarter. Businessy business stuff, ya know?
As tempting as it is - exing away all the context of ACROSS' production - to be bummed about the inevitable release date change (I see the movie feasibly opening some time in 2025, given how Herculean both of these movies are from an animation standpoint), at the same I'm like "it wasn't ever guaranteed for 3/29/2024 anyways." Just like how ACROSS THE SPIDER-VERSE wasn't guaranteed for its original April 2022 bow, or its October 2022 bow... And when it was still slated to be an October release, that's when its teaser debuted. December 2021 was when that teaser came out... Complete with the "Part One" subtitle that was later dropped...
I'm used to it, too. I remember, at age 12, seeing the CARS teaser trailer before THE INCREDIBLES. November 2004... A movie I waited a year and a half for: FINDING NEMO came out May 2003, and had the first ever teaser for THE INCREDIBLES before it... I was in fifth grade when NEMO was released, seventh grade when INCREDIBLES landed... So, that was already a long wait for kid-me for the new Pixar movie. With CARS? Only a year... Then, a month later, Pixar delayed the movie from its original November 2005 slot to June 2006. I remember being a little miffed about that, like "Ahhhh, I have wait longer for that?" That date change also pushed RATATOUILLE out of 2006, and into 2007. Domino stuff. The usual in animated movie slate changes. So INCREDIBLES came out when I was in seventh grade, CARS when I was leaving middle school altogether. Just wanted to share that old story for a giggle.
Speaking of Pixar, I'll also always remember when THE GOOD DINOSAUR... Very close to its projected May 2014 release, got delayed all the way back to November 2015 following the director shakeup and subsequent near-complete restart of the project. No trailer had been released for the movie, but footage was previewed to attendees of the 2013 D23 Expo.
And of course, there are scores of DreamWorks movies that got delayed, plenty of Disney Animation films, ditto other studios.
Heck, remember when INTO THE SPIDER-VERSE - back when it was being referred to as "Animated Spider-Man" - was once set to come out in July of 2018? Before moving back a few steps to December of 2018? With fellow Sony Animation production HOTEL TRANSYLVANIA 3 taking its original July slot?
Happens quite frequently...

Guys I dont think we immediately UNDERSTAND how great this probably was, like this was before internet memes and videos became SUPER accessible. Youtube wasn’t created until 2005. America’s Funniest Vidoes was basically our primary source of funny home movies. So NOT ONLY did this clearly take a LOT of time and effort, but unless there was a tv special about them or you PHYSICALLY WENT TO SEE some local event specifically for creating some big domino effect like this (no idea where but I bet people have done that), this might very well be the viewer’s first time even knowing such a huge cool domino effect was out there!
I bet the audience went WILD. And the fact that this video out of thousands from the show is being circulated today, still impressing us, speaks even more to me of how EPIC this must have been when it aired.
