Finally found a Rainbow High doll at Goodwill so I could test the fit of the new g5 (g5.5?) pony heads! Proportion wise, I think it’s a really good fit.

My RH doll’s neck peg came out in one piece when I tried to behead her, so I strung a random wooden bead on a pipe cleaner, popped the bead in the pony head, and shoved the pipe cleaner in the doll’s neck. Considering using Amazing Mold Putty to make a quick two part mold of the g5 pony neck plug and using that to make epoxy sculpt modifications over the neck plug of the RH doll. The g5 ponies do have a BIG hole in their necks. Took a stab at the bread tag neck fitting method but I really just wanted to check proportions, so it was half hearted.

Brimby Dolly's Little Muffin Adventure Part 4!!!

Ohhhh Snap did I make progress today!!!! I got the base of his outfit made and it's adorable! I'm so happy! Here's some pictures of the sewing process! If I'm lucky I can go mess with his hair tomorrow. We'll just have to see!💖💖💖🌈

Discovered you can completely and utterly turn the Shibajuku head inside out if you get it hot enough (and cut a large headcap).

I am super pleased because I can shave off the eyewells all the way! This has been a big problem inside Poochie's head, I could never angle the xacto well enough to get the vinyl remnants out to allow for better eye placement. I can't turn her inside out any more either lol. But this head might have better chances.

If she cools back down right, anyway. I've flipped her back out now and she looks ... funny. I don't know if the turning overstretched her, or if the interior vinyl removal is making her eyes sag a bit, but she looks strange around the bridge of her nose at the moment 😅

Shot and edited this photoshoot a total of three times, twice yesterday and once today with my camera settings fixed. Still too dark and didnt like most but much more reasonable. Also experimented with drawing in some stuff on procreate to give it a different vibe than my usual dioramas, despite using the same couch.

Also, very rare for my photoshoots- significant pose alterations! Tried to give the vibe that Eko is chatting and gesturing while Jameson is listening and getting up to futz with the skateboard.

Tangkou doll rebody 💕

The original doll proportion was this:

Which is more of a Pullip proportion. Toy Box Philosopher had a couple thorough review of the two dolls.

Tangkou was released back in 2012. It’s like a combination of Pullip’s outside and a Blythe’s inside. Her origin is a bit mysterious, since the company that made her basically went poof after this doll release.

I love her face, but I like my dolls with a taller body, so I gave her an Integrity Toys knock-off body. I had to carve a groove on the neck peg to fit her neck hole. The color match is okay, the body is just a bit darker. I’m not sure about her hands though.

I really despise the way they designed the inside of her neck area. There is a flat surface right above the neck joint space and it acts as a lever sometimes, so her neck peg is always trying to pry apart the head plates when the head is turned a certain way. And the plastic pieces at her neck hole is so thin, mine already broke off a corner. She’s more high maintenance than Blythe for modding for sure.

I got a G3 Twyla doll and I want to customize her to have G1 Twyla's color scheme. I'm having trouble finding the right color of doll hair for a reroot though. I wanna try to recreate her original hair so I need to find the green and purples separately. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

I keep going wildly back and forth between sharing pictures of my dolls in progress or rooms as I build them, and keeping it all under wraps to be a big cool reveal, but I think I like sharing dolls and scenes as I set them up ^^

But! This is a new character, the peasant-raised half-sister to my Countess Rosethorn (both G3 Draculaura dolls). Don't have a name for her or her little sister yet

But she has a little sister!!! A modified Magic Mixies Pixling Unia, who's an adorable size for a little kid to the Monster High teen/adult sizes?

Like look at these cuties!!!!! I love them so much, I need to take them on a BAJILLION adventures ^^ They're so cute!!!!

I also need to name them, but nothing's stuck-- I don't even know what naming convention I want to go with ^^

Yesterday I reboiled the vinyl as @dollsahoy suggested and it reverted a little more back to normal though still a bit odd around the inner eye.

The eyeballs are giving me fits not being able to get the printing off. The eyelashes and whites of the eyes came off with some effort. But the iris area is stuck on there with some method I'm not familiar with and hasn't budged except for literally scratching it off so far.

I know better than to use acetone on hard plastic but I'd be lying if I said I didn't consider burning it to the ground in the middle of fighting with it yesterday. 🫣

I do have the acetone out, gotta remove the face paint and soften the sanded area a bit next.

I opted for just smoothing off the face so I can paint on a mouth but kinda regret it now. I want this doll to match Poochie a bit and now I'm not sure it will. I realized a bit too late that Poochie's carved mouth is part of her charm. But it was SO HARD for me to carve. Vinyl is not my medium dude. So not my medium. I really didn't want to try it again. So here we are.

Also sanded part of my thumb off without realizing it until after, and boy has that been a stinging burning pain in the ass since yesterday. Do you know how many times a day you have to get your hands wet with two little kids 😵‍💫

Exciting new doll project on my table!

I've wanted a doll with dwarfism in my SD+ crew for a really long time, but knew my own modding capabilities and that it just wasn't in the cards. So when the awesome milkweed_and_honeybjds on instagram listed a project body with the exact mods I'd need already done? I jumped ridiculously fast 😂

I was planning to hybrid him with probably a little rebel kamu- but on a whim I tried my only floating head, a ooak custom from meeksdoll, on him, and to my shock it worked really well!!!

He needs a ton of work still, but I just did the neck widening mod he needed and cleaned up his torso a bit. Now I'm attempting to remove his uneven dye job without too much sanding. I'll order him some dollstown 15 boy hands in probably a month (I tested Kulog's hands on him and really like the look) and work incrementally on putting him together! He's going to be the biggest project I've ever tackled, but I'm really excited to get him together.

Tentatively named him Jameson. Here's some pictures of the hybrid test and progress so far!
