Brimby Dolly's Little Muffin Adventure Part 4!!!

Ohhhh Snap did I make progress today!!!! I got the base of his outfit made and it's adorable! I'm so happy! Here's some pictures of the sewing process! If I'm lucky I can go mess with his hair tomorrow. We'll just have to see!💖💖💖🌈

I also discovered that magnets can be painted when prepared properly!

Brimby Dolly's Little Muffin Adventure Part 1

Ok so I started by cutting the old hair away!

Then I went about boiling his head! Sounds bad! But it had to be done! Dat ass through... 🤣😭Brimby got cake.⬇️

And then upon beheading the poor thing i discovered that....🥴🥴🥴🤭🤣⬇️

Removing the rest of his hair required multiple boiling time. And the tweezers were not working within the head. So I had to pull his hair out directly out of the scalp. Dear gods it sounds like I'm torturing the poor thing in my basement 🤣

@elvenhymntoelbereth this one's for you. It's an inside joke 🤣⬇️ (pretty sure that's Bimby's current status)

Several classic anime opening theme songs later I finally managed to make him balled!⬇️ Hooray!

Then it was time for a rubba dub-dub get your ass in the tub. Or child size Minnie Mouse bowl? Minnie and Brimby are both mice. It checks out.⬇️

After I got him clean, it was time to give him a face and scalp lift⬇️

Ngl this friggin spot terrifies me! I'm gonna have to reroot this spot people! I'm not ready for that!!⬇️

Brimby Dolly's Little Muffin Adventure Part 3

I realized I have some very pretty fabric laying in the bottom of my fabric bin bags! I could also make him a cute lil night gown for bedtime with the polka dots too! So I decided to make a pattern for his green robes we see him wearing in the forge first. Granted his are velvet. Butttt, the emerald brocade would be beautiful for him too!

To make a custom doll pattern that fits your doll you'll need scissors, your doll, clingy wrap, a cat and paper tape⬇️

Note: A kitty is crucial to the process 🧶🐾🐈‍⬛

then wrap the body of the doll in cling wrap and tape it up. Brimby's headless body looks like a mummy 🤣 after the body is wrapped sket pattern lines. I already saw the pattern in my head so I did it backwards by sketching it on the body. (Don't do that unless you're really good at visualizing stuff)⬇️

Then so I didn't loose the pattern image I sketched it out on paper and cut apart the pattern from the body. I arranged the pattern on the paper to see how they connect ⬇️

Then I traced each piece and made sure to include room for seam lines. That's the extra space included with each pattern piece. I also labeled how many I'd need to cut. I made an alteration to the bottom of his dress robes too⬇️

Now I'm ready to cut out the pieces and start sewing! But that'll be later.

I'll definitely need other notions and supplies to make the rest of his outfit. But I have enough for the base so far. His clothes will look beautiful by the time I'm done!! I really want to make a full itty bitty forging outfit for him first. He'll look so cute🥰

Brimby Dolly's Little Muffin Adventure Part 2!!!

Head stabbies!!!! And head boiling! Yay!!

First I boiled his head to get it soft enough to stab with my poky staby stick!

Then the stabbing began!

Then this happened 😬😬😬⬇️

But it's ok because it popped out after a while. But, to make extra sure all the dents were out I boiled his head after I was done stabbing all the rooting holes!

No dents! And his scalp finally looks normal! For a doll that is. ⬇️

Now I can make hair, reroot, and attach the head!

NGL STYLING HIS HAIR AND APPLYING HIS FACE TERRIFIES ME THE MOST!!!

How’s your thranduil Barbie going? OwO

HE'S BEING A LIL BITCH!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣

That's very on brand for him though. I can't do anything until I find a 2013 replacement barbie arm for him off of ebay. I'm using a 2013 barbie. His arm is completely unusable 🙃

To attach it I need to boil the body and the arm to soften the plastic. The clay is water soluble until I can put a finish over it. The finish is the 2nd to last step

On the plus sid he's finally gotten top surgery 😂 And I potentially have a better way to sculpt the abbs.

He's on hold rn until I can get an arm of the net somewhere. So I haven't given up!

However! Thrandy isn't the only middle earth dolly I want to create!!

I will be working on a Cute lil Celebrimbor dolly and an Adar dolly soon!

For Brimby I'm using a Blueberry Muffin doll from the Strawberry Shortcake 1980's series for his body. I'll be getting him in the mail next week!

For Adar I'm going for a Living Dead Doll styled look! His doll body is requiring me to save my $'s because I specifically want a vintage doll to customize for him because he as a character is old. I'm hoping I can find one damaged too. He to is damaged but not broken. Do I want a doll I can repair to represent that. I'm hoping to go for a 1960's Catch A Ball Baby Doll to emulate the Living Dead Style. That particular doll has a face sculpt I like for a cute goth dolly Adar. But, the original damaged doll I wanted got bought before I could scoop him up... So I'm going to keep searching!

I think these dolls fit their personalities very well!

I'd love to hear your thoughts though!
