Opinion time.

So my babe's feet are looking a bit swollen. I want to know if I should do some more foot reconstruction or if it suits Adar's doll? Because I can see it both ways. Aesthetically yes it would be nice to have them look perfect. But on the other hand Adar would not have access to proper footwear and I canon that he was forced to walk across hot coles so his feet are badly scarred from burns.

What do y'all think????

Adar's Living Dead Overhaul Part 18

I'm finally feeling better enough for doll mods again!

First I sanded down Adar's clay that now covers the hole that was in his back⬇️

Then I hot glued scars on his torso. Now I'm done with the hot glue! His whole body is now covered head to toe in scars. (Poor babe💔 but it's part of my head canon)⬇️

Tomorrow I can start covering his scars in clay. This could take a while. And involve a lot of repetitive processes. I have a feeling texturing his body is going to melt my brain!😮‍💨😵‍💫 But it'll be worth it in the end!

Adar's Living Dead Overhaul Part 16

HE FINALLY HAS FEET!

Ok so what I did first was, Look through my vintage dolls to find one with a similar leg and foot shape to Adar's.

I decided to go with my Little Miss No Name Doll (1965) because her's seemed to be the best match for Adar's base ( Baby Come Back Doll 1976) . Then I snaded the clay that was furthest up his legs to make the mods look more natural. I kept his feet looking rough to match his crusty aesthetic.

Next with water and a paint brush I sculpted balls of clay to look like toes. Then I sculpted more balls of clay to the bottoms of Adar's feet to give them a three dimensional look. They turned out pretty good I think. ⬇️

This clay naturally cracks as it dries. So in 2 days I can fill in the cracks super glue and thin layers of clay.

Lets continue with this beautiful face up!!!😭🥹🖤

Btw these are the brushes I used.⬇️

Picking up where I left off I lined his lips with black and gray paint using nail detailing brushes.⬇️

Then I lined his lovely blue eyes with nail detailing brushes 🥰 again these are my references.⬇️

Then I added his eye brows with my 20/0 spotter.⬇️

Then I highlighted his nose and upper lip with Berlioz and the Manic Panic Virgin pressed powder. One might say Adar is a little bit manic at times?? But definitely not a virgin 🤣 at least not in my headcanon!⬇️

Then I took took the same pressed powder from above and highlighted his scars.⬇️

Then I outlined the scars with Berlioz.⬇️

I used the same method to highlight with the Virgin powder and outline with Berlioz on his ears.⬇️

Finally I outlined his ears in black paint with the nail detailing brushes. And this is the finished result of Adar's face up!⬇️

He turned out gorgeous 🥰😭🥹 I want to cry he's so gosh darn cute! I just can't even rn!!!! 🥺

Adar's Living Dead Overhaul Part 8

This boy's texture is really coming along!

I've been really playing with getting more texture by dabbing and layering paint. I use a round tipped brush for this. I used white and gray paint because I want it to blend well with his actual skin color.

He doesn't look like much now. That's only because he doesn't have his skin color on🌈🖤

I plan on doing that later tonight after work today!

Adar's Living Dead Overhaul Part 19

And thus begins the long process of covering his body scars in clay.

This part is not hard. It is just time consuming. Very time consuming. So I have decided to clay sculpt and paint one body part at a time so I don't get burned out.

I used these tools plus a paint brush and water to sculpt the clay around his scars. The metal tool is actually from a nail manicure set but it works great for sculpting.⬇️

this is the result of the sculpting. I started with his arm. It's all I had focus for tonight.⬇️

Hopefully I can get his arm painted by the end of the weekend. Because the clay has to go on so thin it won't take as long to dry and set.

Fabric for Adar's Dolly

Because JoAnn Fabrics is going out of business and there's no other proper fabric stores in my town I needed to find a place to get fabric for my doll's clothes. I did a search online and discovered spoonflower. I also discovered that I can make collections of fabric.

I made this one for Adar's future clothes (not just his canon outfit), and accessories. He's definitely getting a lil doll sized goth quilt to cuddle in the future. Just saying.

But here ya go! Here's his little fabric collection I've started⬇️

Adar's doll base came in the mail!!!

This is not the original doll I had chosen.But, it was the second best option I could find that still had damage and would fit for a living dead doll style. Adar's base is a 1976 Baby Come Back Doll. This doll is about 16 inches tall.

I was originally wanting a 1968 Catch a Ball Baby Doll because I love the face sculpt. That would have been perfect for living dead adar. But the damage was beyond my skill for the one I found in my prince range. I also can't justify obliterating a pristine vintage doll. There were several in very good condition.

He'll definitely be rather chibish. But, I'm in love with that idea! Cute and menacing is the look I will be shooting for!!

I am bit frustrated though because I just noticed that his shoes are molded to the body. That's very lazy in my opinion. Oh well! I am super excited to get started on this project!!!

Adar is gonna have some rockin hips though! And check out those thighs🤣😍🖤

GOTH LIBRARIAN IN THE CHILDRENS DEPARTMENT! he runs programming in the childrens department, story time on Wednesday mornings for preschoolers, and kills it during the summer reading program!

The parents are all skeptical at first until their children come home with hordes of books and gush about the take and makes that Mr.Adar the child librarian gave to them.

So um...I did a Sauron meme and went the extra mile to (shoddily) put glasses on him and hand him a book in that meme. The resulting image was hilarious (to me at least!), but I couldn't help but imagine Adar with the same sort of look, soooo...

Here's an adorable request made by my Tumblr friend @eowyn7023 🌈🖤!

This is Adar's modern AU BFF! He rescued her from the streets🖤 When he first found her, she was so scrawny and badly hurt because of the stigma against black cats.

But now she is happy every day with her uruk bestie! She still has some scars where fur doesn't grow. But that doesn't bother Adar at all! They match very well in his opinion.
