#Dog-Shifter John AU

Here is a snippet of the second chapter of my Dog-Shifter John AU story, which is a WIP:

The Clevens got to work on getting Bucky adjusted to the home and getting healthy again. They implemented the meal plan and advice the vet gave to get Bucky to trust them. After some time, Bucky was back to full health and trusted Mr. and Mrs. Cleven more. And he and Gale grew to have a bond closer than one they’ve ever had with anyone before. Best friends for life. It warmed Gale’s parents’ hearts to see their son and dog so happy together.

For a few months, everything was okay.

Then, “Bucky seems to be aging really slowly,” Mrs. Cleven noticed.

Bucky tensed.

“He does,” Mr. Cleven agreed. “That’s rather odd.”

Bucky didn’t know what to do. He couldn't do anything about how old he looked, but should he act the age he should be in dog years or continue to act the age his dog form reflected according to his human age? If he should go with the first option, how was an older dog version of him even supposed to act? Bucky didn’t know the answers to either question, so he just decided to continue what he was doing, which was chewing on the fake bone they gave him.

“Perhaps we should take him to the vet?” Mrs. Cleven suggested.

“I’m not sure what the vet is going to say or do about it. Maybe this isn’t a bad thing?”

“I don’t know.”

“Let’s think about it and then see.”

Mrs. Cleven agreed.

Whew. Bucky was in the clear. For now.

Redacted Actor AU Headcanons

Lovely’s actor's tears looked so real during the inversion that Vincent’s actor had to keep asking if they were okay.

David and Darlin’s actors are actually siblings.

Asher’s actor originally auditioned for the role of Guy, but the director thought it would be better for Baabe’s actor to play Asher since they were already together.

Ivan’s actor repeatedly had to check on Baby’s actor after a scene because he genuinely thought he had hurt them.

Gavin’s jokes are unscripted due to his actor forgetting his lines, but it never gets re-filmed because it fits Gavin’s character.

Caelum’s actor was in a school play that the director attended and was impressed with him, but due to him being too young to portray Caelum, he was placed in smaller productions until he was old enough to play the role(He instantly bonded with Freelancer and Gavin’s actors).

Vega’s actor actually shared the Vega role with his twin brother after Vega lost his memories, so it could feel like Vega was a different person.

The Shaw pack members are actually childhood friends (David’s actor wouldn’t take his role unless the others could also be placed in the pack roles).

Geordi and Cutie’s actors both attend K-pop concerts together.

Aggro is actually Milo’s actor's cat (his actor was placed in a room with a bunch of cats, and Aggro was most comfortable with him).

The D.A.M.N crew's actors didn’t even know each other at first (they each had a scene with one another, then got the bowling scene together and bonded over time).

Porter’s and Treasure’s actors don’t have any romantic feelings for each other, but they do bond with each other on set.

Quinn’s actor actually had more scenes, but the actor became uncomfortable with Quinn’s character, so most of it got cut.

The inversion was the hardest and most expensive scene to film.

Freelancer’s actor actually had to kiss Huxley’s, Damien’s, and Lasko’s actors before being paired with Gavin’s actor because they looked more comfortable kissing each other.

Darlin’s actor didn’t have romantic feelings for Sam’s actor, simply loving his presence until later in production (nobody ever knew about it except David’s actor).

Lovely’s actor hates slap scenes because they always feel like they hit too hard whenever they see the shock on their co-star's face (they immediately apologize afterward).

The Friendsgiving episode was actually real (the D.A.M.N crew didn’t have time to see their families due to filming for the inversion and the E&E games, so they just spent it together).

At one point during filming, the shifters were actually going to be large dogs, but they didn’t look right on camera, so green screens were used instead.

Sweetie’s actor is never aware of Azmidi’s actors actions due to the director wanting actual fear from them

Starting with the old man, Alan reminds me very much of a lion. Maybe it's the beard As a member of the JSA, he's one of the most respected figures among DC's heroes, so the King of the Jungle seems fitting.

You probably saw this coming a mile away but Hal is a bird. His whole schtick is flying, so how could he not be? Anyway my first thought was something majestic and grand like an eagle, but upon further consideration I think he'd be a peregrine falcon, the fastest bird in the world.

Y'know that one honey badger that kept breaking out of its enclosure to pick fights with the lions that were at the same zoo? Yeah that's 100% Guy. Absolute bastard that fears nothing and lives for the fight.

Now John as a beaver may seem weird, but hear me out. You ever seen those pictures of beavers chewing through trees thicker than their entire bodies? That's John in his element. Persistence and endurance at its finest. Plus there's the whole thing about building that both of them are known for.

Kyle is a horse. Actually, he's the White Lantern, so I'm gonna upgrade him to unicorn. With wings too, because he's just that gloriously majestic. As Graf Toren once put it, Kyle is the angel of the Corps and his animal form reflects that.

Simon is a dog, a Dobermann to be exact. It's no secret that he's often outshined by his fellow Green Lanterns, but he's just as fearless and loyal as the rest of them. It's an often overlooked aspect of his character that he can go just about anywhere and befriend anyone, so I think man's best friend is a fitting reflection of Simon.

Jessica gives me hare vibes. Often mistaken for similarly skittish and shy rabbits, but can be unexpectedly fierce and fight back when pressed.

Hey all! I'm Ghost, 30+, long-time role-player seeking some discord writing partners. I've been out of the game for a bit but am back around and looking for someone to indulge in various plots. Writing would take place over on discord with a preference for use of tupperbox. I'm a relaxed and easygoing partner looking for the same. Generally, a semi-lit writer (one chunky to three/four paragraphs). Replies can come several times daily or may be a little more sporadic depending on that pesky thing known as life. Partners must be 21 or older, with a preference for 25 or older. Below the cut are some ideas that are top on the list of what I'm seeking. Some are more plot heavy, some are simply spicy indulgent.

Fandom plots:

Call of Duty Task Force 141 Mafia AU plot: This idea has a few iterations that could be played. I'm open to plotting with my partner. The basic idea is that the guys belong to some sort of crime family/families. The group (Price, Gaz, Ghost, and Soap) could function under the umbrella of one crime family, or they could be split among two separate families. Leaning towards a more modern take, rather than that of the 20s througu 60s a lot tend to think of. There are plenty of angst possibilities. Warnings for potential violence. Little more plot heavy before getting into spice. Seeking two separate pairings as I'm willing to double within this idea. Would love to play Ghost against someone's Soap, and a female OC against someone's John Price.

Stranger Things shifter au plot: The Upside down terror has come to a close after Hopper and Eleven face the horrors in the bottom of Hawkins labs. A hope that things could get back to normal. As normal as it could be for a small town full of shifters and non humans could be. Could play Joyce, Jonathan, Steve, or Hopper for this. Steve and Jonathan would be older (college aged 21). Would love to play against Hopper in this, either with Joyce, Steve, or an OC. I see Steve as a scrawny, hybrid dog/wolf shifter, Joyce a bear shifter, Jonathan following after her as a bear shifter, and Hopper as wolf shifter. A little more slice of life. Open to putting them through things to add dynamics and angst. Also willing to double for this idea.

Original character plots:

Trucker driver (m) x naive, innocent thing (f). This would be more of a smut driven plot. Initially, it starts off with the driver chatting up a woman who has this idealistic, naive view of the world. She wants to travel and see things. Maybe a little too desperate for praise. He promises to take her all over the country, eventually trading such things for more physical pleasure. It could develop into genuine feelings between the two, or it could remain a one-sided use deal. Would love to play the driver in this scenario.

Knight x Queen: The king is unable to produce an heir, a year after his marriage to the neighboring kingdoms princess. The agreement hinges on an heir. A deal is stuck in secret with one of his knights, a close friend. The queen and the knight are allowed an affair, kept under wraps, in order to produce an heir. Be fine playing either the knight or the queen.

Good boy x bad girl: The upstanding, youth leader son of a pastor who has never gotten in trouble a day in his life. The one who was never a disappointment and always did the right thing. The bad girl. Name known around town and one that's always in trouble. Tagging buildings, breaking into cars, and throwing wild parties. The one expected to never amount to anything. The two are unlikely to get together. She sees an opportunity to get a pay day and maybe show the world that those "golden" individuals aren't so golden. Chance for genuine feelings or could be utter corruption. Potential chance for angst. Leads into heavy smut.

Vampire x Vampire Hunter: A little cliche but its fun to have two individuals fight attraction but ultimately be unable to give in. Enemies to lovers build up. Forbidden romance with plenty of push and pull. Leans a little more smut heavy but plenty of options to explore and world build with lore and angles that could bring these two together or tear them apart. Could even play with the idea of fated mates. Fine with any sort of pairings here and playing either role.

Ok part 2 of my dadbastian vampire au...

Seb is actually surprised that Ciel survived the transformation since he's tiny and Seb has never known of another child vampire. Sebastian also kind of lucks out finding out that his new charge was the son of a wealthy nobleman, now he gets to live in a giant manor! Before he was just kinda hopping around mostly living in like the woods, he's a very skilled shape shifter and was kind of feral before he started playing at being a fancy noble.

Seb is an extremely old vampire and is therefore pretty dang powerful.

Ciel adjusts to being a vampire poorly at first, he is just a baby after all and he's still grieving his family and dealing with his trauma. He does start to enjoy his un-life a bit though as he realizes he can take out his rage and trauma on adults, he can make adults suffer and he doesn't have to feel like a helpless child anymore, he likes feeling powerful. He develops quite the sadistic side which Sebastian can't help but feel pride for.

Ciel has a hard time sleeping in his coffin at first because of nightmares :( (Even though these vampires are physically dead when they sleep they still can dream.)

Sebastian has to teach him to be an earl and a vampire at the same time and he realizes he has his work cut out for him. He's definitely teaching his son all the wrong lessons just like in the manga.

Ciel is by no means powerful by vampire standards since he's so young, and needs Seb to help him with hunting most of the time-they eat the intruders trying to attack the manor.

Ciel starts to act like he doesn't care about his dead human family and this revenge thing is just a game to him, but deep down he misses them a lot. He also acts this way when Madam Red dies, not only because he's the dysfunctional sonboy we all know and love, but because he feels like he should be more detached from humanity and in many ways he is. Ciel also has a soft spot for the Midfords, though when he saw them for the first time after he turned it was rlly difficult for him to not eat them. He especially wants to protect Lizzy and keep her from knowing his true nature.

Ciel is also extremely gluttonous for blood and his hunger is difficult for Sebastian to satiate, his love for sweets transferred to a to a love for fresh blood :)! He grumbles about being hungry all the time and Seb has to warn him about feeding on conspicuous victims.

Queen Victoria actually knows about Sebastian and Ciel's nature but doesn't rlly care since having powerful undead creatures at her disposal doing her bidding is nice for her. (I mean she employed a 10 year old, what's stopping her from employing a vampire? Also because John Brown may or may not be a vampire...)

Being the queen's guard dog also provides more food for our vampires, they have an agreement with Victoria that they are allowed to eat the criminals they subdue instead of turning them into to the Yard.

While Ciel enjoys parts of undead existence, he did not think through becoming a vampire and really just wants to die for real. He hates being stuck in the body of a 10 year old and it's a great source of angst for him. He has also not properly dealt with his grief and trauma, and being a little sadist isn't actually good therapy for him, who would have thought!

He openly resents Sebastian for turning him, which Seb's dismissive response is always "well you chose this.🙄"

Their relationship is quite toxic like it is in the manga, the differences being that Seb doesn't have to be fake nice since he's not playing the butler role, and that he does deep down begin to care deeply for Ciel as his son.

On the one hand Seb regrets turning Ciel because he sees how much pain he goes through, but on the other hand he does like having this little thorn in his side around. He's still kinda abusive tho and their relationship is complicated, Ciel has slit Sebastian's throat on occasion, y'know how it is, kids🙃

Ciel also deep down feels attachment to Sebastian as a parent, but he would never admit it out right.

Ciel is lowkey planning to off himself after he gets his revenge but Sebastian hasn't rlly told him how to do it, they are weaker during the day and direct sunlight hurts, but it doesn't destroy these vampires (neither does fire). Ciel thinks Sebastian won't tell him because he's an asshole and won't tell him important vampire information, but the truth is simply that Seb doesn't want his son to kill himself, and doesn't want his son kill him! (Ciel would never actually kill Seb if he knew how, but these two suck at communicating their true feelings so...)

Also in this au all of the reapers are actually vampires-so vampire Grelle! (side note I've always seen the reapers as sort of vampiric especially when you consider certain vampire myths that say people who commit suicide become vampires!)

Gale can be very stubborn but John has the sweetest puppy eyes. It’s almost like a case of immovable object - unstoppable force. Almost, because 8 out of 10 times, Gale ends up folding after a while.

John uses his puppy eyes in various situations, most frequently when Gale is busy with something else but he wants Gale to pay attention to him and give him extra affection. This works every time. He also tries to use it to earn forgiveness after a fight, but this one has a lower success rate.

I prefer to headcanon shifting as a rare skill in my AUs, so in this case, John will either be the only one or there would be only a few others.

Yes, I would go with the same broader social context for shifting as in my kitty Gale AU, so shifters are not widely known or accepted in society during the war, but awareness and acceptance increase later.

Yes, I like the idea of John not having issues with puppies after the war, only with grown dogs. 🥺 I think he'd enjoy playing with puppies and doesn’t have a problem with being compared to them (unlike kitty Gale and cats). But they don’t keep any puppies because they annoy Gale.

John likes howling every now and then, it’s an instinct to mark his territory or to call for Gale, but ultimately, it’s a release of tension for him. Sometimes, Gale threatens to lock him out of the house if he keeps doing it.

Puppy John headcanons - part 2

Part 1

His dog form is either a black curly-coated retriever or a black lab (I like both headcanons)

He loves belly and ear rubs in both forms.

Nudging his nose against Gale is a sign of his affection. In dog form, all Gale needs to do is look at him for him to start wagging his tail.

He's not conflicted or ashamed of being a shifter, partly because of his personality but also because he grew up in a family where he wasn’t the only shifter.

He's very playful and has a high attention and physical activity need. These make life in the stalag extra difficult for him.

Once he considers someone family, he struggles keeping things from them, so Gale and Curt know about his shifter ability long before they even go to England.

He has phantom tail issues (headcanon by @skyyguy) - in human form, when he's super happy, he tries to wag his nonexistent tail. As a child, this meant wiggling his hips, but he learnt to channel it into tapping his foot / jiggling his leg. Post-war, he does show the hip wiggle in front of Gale sometimes, which Gale finds endearing.

He's big and socially dominant in both human and dog form. This causes him extra trouble in the stalag because he has to act submissive in a lot of situations.

Due to the trauma of the stalag and the aggressive dogs there, he becomes antisocial in dog form once they get back to the States. Gale tries to help him get used to other dogs again, first, by getting a different animal (cat/chicken/horse) that Bucky can get used to before trying to meet dogs again.

Bucky pretty much loves collars and wants Gale to buy him one... or a few. (Unlike kitty Gale.) He thinks of them as signs of belonging and care, almost like a wedding ring.

He likes getting Gale gifts and will happily play fetch if Gale's game. The reason why he loves baseball is because he finds chewing on the balls relaxing.

Gale hates seeing John sad in human form, but he just can’t bear seeing him sad as a dog. He does everything he can to cheer him up. Post-war, when John is scared of fireworks, he always cuddles him and tells him what a good puppy he is.

Zable Fable when she/they unlocks their dormant shifter side.

She/they will Mr. Banballow's a Realtor's House or a Enemy.

This would only happen if Maison Talo or other realtor's has Zable Fable in their grasp but unknown to everyone Zable is a vessel for something unstable that will happen.

Each attack is randomized so their is a chance this might happen then they won't remember when done.

Zable Fable is used to being in a not air conditioned house or place since each one randomly realm jumps and will walk in place to sweat to cool themselves off then later will faint to release the other half that was dormant.

The weirdest places Zable Fable has realm jumped to was Illbleed, that one Dog of Bay dancing club, the underworld, space, a Au version the Uncanny Valley, randomly realm jumping inside houses then apologizing to the owner/owners of the house then later interviewing the people.

So their is a chance that Zable Fable could just randomly realm jump inside a realtor's house body without the lure body noticing and the house body to react to it.

I wonder how the realtors would react to that?

I have been thinking a lot about the purgatory time skip in the Bobby-John au and Sam having like complicated feelings about navigating wanting out of the life but now having a monster toddler to raise.

Bc he’s not gonna bail on his dead brothers kid (Sam is absolutely entirely a second father to the kid but I think he contectualizes it as being an uncle bc Dean picked to keep Bobby-John while Sam was soulless and then Sam was having the whole Cage and Lucifer mental breakdown and even tho B-J was safe at Bobby’s during that Dean was operating as the parent and Sam probably sees himself as a very involved uncle who is now the parent of Bobby-John instead of like a dad from the start (as opposed to things with Jack where it’s truly a trifecta of parents))

Like maybe in his worst moments Sam contemplates handing Bobby-John off to Garth, who is fantastic with kids and has no qualms about a monster kid and then Sam could completely leave the life. But he doesn’t. So Bobby-John goes with Sam to hit a dog (not a good evening for Sam, you think trying to take a bleeding dog you’re guilty about to a vet is hard, try doing it with a miserable maybe orphaned toddler) Bobby-John is just as excited as Sam is about having a dog. The lore about dogs getting aggressive around shifters is only about murderous ones (I have made this executive decision) and Bobby-jay is 2.5 years old and a sweetheart.

So Sam still lives at the extended stay motel and ends up as a handyman and the (entering made up territory) the motel owner’s mother who lives on the premises watches Bobby-Jay while Sam works. (Every day Sam begs his toddler to stick to the same form for months for going out of the room and being in the town. He has to use bribery of m&ms and say things like “you can’t play in the park with Riot if you’re blond.” )

The thing with Amelia still happens tho idk if she’d be so gung-ho about her military wife affair thing if it’s with a guy with a toddler but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ it was very iconic of Sam so

Overall I think having Bobby-John for that period of Sam’s life would add some fascinating complexity but also validation to his decision to leave the life at that point because with Bobby and Dean and Cas gone he really can’t hunt alone with a toddler
