ALL THE DOCTOR WHOS ARE THE SAME PERSON? CONFUSION??

okay real talk though, why do most people (ALL) in the doctor who fandom consider each doctor a DIFFERENT person? PLEASE DON'T HATE AND HEAR ME OUT, and I'm only on s2e9.

so when I started watching Doctor who I thought it would make more sense when I got to the 2nd season and it was explained more or something, I was just left more confused because going in I thought it'd be like a completely different person each doctor or something along the lines of that.

so why doesn't it make sense, everyone and every post I see people are treating THE DOCTOR like he's a different person, he's not though? yes he's a different person but not a different PERSON yk? what I mean by that, we all know he's a time lord and when he dies he regenerates/transforms(?) into a new body, with different taste buds, different eyesight, different personality, different everything, but he's still HIM. he still has all his memories, how old they might be (him being 900 at the start of the show) he still is somewhat the same, his soul is the same. so I'm just truly not understanding why we consider them different people when he's still the same person (I use he because I'm talking about the 9 and 10th doctor because that's how far I am) just with a new style, semi-different personality and looks different, he will always have the same memories and soul though. why consider them different people if they all have the same soul?

so I know that all might sound really stupid, but do we have an actual reason for considering them all different people other then he looks different? and is in a new body with a different personality? I'm genuinely asking, I need answers and idc about spoilers :'(

edit: okay I do understand why because they all look different but they are all still the same soul and have all the memories, like for fandom and art purposes I get it, lore wise it doesn't make sense to me. IM SO CONFUSED, THE SHOW AND THE FANDOM, WHY DID HE ONLY giVE INFORMANtiON ABOUT THE DYING THING IN THE TWO EPISODES IT WAS HAPPENING AND THEN NOT SAY ANYTHING ELSE, I'm hoping I'll gain more info as I watch about this specific question but I highly doubt it and I fear I'll just get more confused ( but we shall hope)

So I’m not too well versed in Doctor Who lore, but doesn’t the fact that there are now 2 active Doctors in the form of the 14th and 15th mean that even when he says his name at Trenzalore, there will still be one Doctor that lives?

okay okay I know the point of this is “White people need to put as much effort into learning how to pronounce Black people’s names as they do foreign European names” and 100% I totally agree, absolutely good point

I think this is just a trend everywhere but I've been very frustrated this week by how much admin work is being outsourced to me as the patient/customer.

My orthodontist tells me I can make an appointment with the surgeon. I call the surgeon. They tell me I need a new referral. I call the orthodontist. They do a referral. I call the surgeon. Referral didn't come through. They tell me about their special unique system we have to use. I call the ortho again and walk them through the referral. I call the surgeon. They say the referral was missing some details so they have to do it again. I call the ortho.

The insurance company calls me about repair shops. I give them the name of the repair shop which I already gave them yesterday. They say they're not in their system but I can use them, but I have to call the repair shop to ask them to contact the insurance company. I call the repair shop and they say the insurance company is supposed to email them.

I feel like at a certain point these constant fetch quests become unreasonable?? Is it too much to expect these groups to communicate with each other instead of making me run back and forth between them???
