Added trauma flavour: Parent was murdered in front of them (**Still counts if they survived the murder Parent tried to murder them Dying from seemingly incurable disease which makes their parents/guardian sad (If your parents are alive, you must pay for it by dying yourself) Adoptive parent/stepparent is THE WORST
Somehow has normal, alive parents: Lee Jun-ho (Extraordinary Attorney Woo, Has no backstory at all. We only meet his older sister and hear nothing about his childhood.) Shin Ha-ri (Business Proposal, her family is refreshingly normal, right down to her brother being sent out to find her when she's drunk) Oh Han-byeol (Sh**ting Stars, Again, we know almost nothing about her family, only that she has twin sisters. But she doesn't appear to have childhood trauma.) Park Yeon-woo (The Story of Park's Marriage Contract, her mom being annoyed at her for something that is a crime doesn't count as bad parenting) Lee Young-joon/Sung-hyun (What's Wrong with Secretary Kim, his trauma comes from a kidnapper, his parents faced a pretty impossible situation and did their best. They clearly love their kids) Baek Hyun-woo (Queen of Tears, nothing wrong with them out of the ordinary and they are in the drama a significant amount.) Ha Eun-gyeol (Twinkling Watermelon, very loving parents and the deafness and their reliance on him is not anyone's fault)
*Counting her as an orphan even though she gets her parents back after 20 years, she spent her childhood orphaned. ***This character is tricky because I understand why her mother wanted nothing to do with her, but her trying to manipulate the dad and also saying he didn't raise her properly made me so angry. ****This character is tricky because he was explicitly raised as an orphan by his grandma, his father didn't sign his birth certificate (Korean equivalent of this), and he's registered as the child of his grandmother, not his actual mom. His grandma is dead by the beginning of the series and he is living alone without family, so I think he counts as an orphan.
Uncatagorized due to lack of clarity on parents: Soundtrack #1, Hospital Playlist, Happiness

Rewatch: The Great Doctor, episodes 9-17
Rewatch notes begin
This series is also known as Faith.
Well, that was a long Act III.
Machinations, intrigue, rescues, double and triple crosses, revelations and finally, a declaration, maybe.
I won't even attempt to recount the plot, but I was constantly on the edge of my seat. Even though I've seen this series before, it's still gripping me and won't let go.
I don't think I've mentioned, but despite all the drama and physical trauma, there's a lot of humor in this series, and there have been moments where I've yelped with laughter.
Spoilers follow. You can skip to my notes on episodes 18-20.
The evil dude Prince Gi Cheol has summoned Prince Deok Heung, who had been keeping a low profile but now sees the chance to become king himself. Gi Cheol thought he could manipulate Deok Heung, but Deok Heung turns out to have a mind of his own, poisoning the doctor and ultimately saving her.
The king goes into semi-exile after Gi Cheol engineers an attack on the palace, while Deok Heung engineers a simultaneous attack on Gi Cheol's mansion, gaining control over Hwata's relics.
And we realize it's clear that these are actually the doctor's relics, although she has no memory of them. While she gains temporary access to them - resulting in the aforementioned poisoning - she still doesn't gain the full meaning of them. But she does get to figure out when the gate will open.
Frankly, even though I watched these episodes over only a few days, I had some trouble keeping track of who knew what when and who was in control. I'd hate to think of how much work it would have been to watch the series the original two episodes per week. But I continue to be fascinated by the series.
In the waning episodes of Act III, Deok Heung has engineered an engagement to the doctor as a condition of saving Choi Young from a death trap as well as access to the remaining artifacts. She attempts to back out, and he tells her the only way she could do that would be to admit to an affair with Choi Young, which would lead to her and Choi Young's enslavement to Gi Cheol.
He then arranges to have her escorted to the wedding, which Choi Young interrupts by kissing Doctor Yoo Eun Soo in front of the entire court. Yes, this is the first kiss we have seen. Is this a real, romantic kiss? Or, like Choi Young's earlier declaration at the end of Act I (episode 5) that he is there to rescue the doctor from Gi Cheol, a ruse? Presumably, we will learn in Act IV. But for the moment, I'm guessing this very public kiss would have been shocking in 14th century Korea even if these two were officially engaged.
Hopefully (I know we do, but I don't remember when) we will learn whether the doctor keeps her date with the wormhole, a mere month away, and what the third relic is.
And I screamed with delight at that kiss. Looking forward to episode 18.
Continue with episodes 18-20.

Daily Dose of Sunshine Review (Spoiler Free)
Can you really call it a daily dose of sunshine when it made me cry so many times?
Tumblr media
The drama looks at different stories of people with mental illness and we walk through all of that with the new nurse Jung Da Eun.
I believe this is the best kdrama about mental illness and the talk about the stigmatisation of it in S. Korea.
But before people start watching it, I have to say that it might be triggering for some as it does talk about self-harm, suicide, depression and more.
Sometimes, I had to take longer breaks before continuing with the episode because it was a bit overwhelming, so just a warning. Please, feel free to take your time if you decide to watch it.
The drama has only 12 episodes and they can't really fit a very descriptive healing of that patient.
Most of the time the writers just decide that they all healed now after a quick treatment.
What I liked about this drama is that we have constant reminders that you do not heal immediately after getting medications or after the patient steps foot from the hospital. (Maybe OCD cases were a bit overlooked)
It shows that you will have mental illness after that but if you get continuous treatment and if you fight it, it will become easier.
The characters were so easy to love, and everyone was interesting.
I'm happy we got backstories about a few nurses. It was really nice to see their perspectives and them comforting Da Eun and telling their stories while working there. It was very heartwarming.
My only issue with the drama was the romance bit. I never really shipped Jung Da Eun with her childhood friend or with the doctor from the other department (he was a bit too much for me).
But it doesn't take the whole plot, so it is easy to overlook, plus I enjoyed another doctor-nurse relationship, so it was not a big deal.
Overall, in some ways, it reminds me of the Hospital Playlist. It could be very comforting at times and make you cry the other times.
I also wouldn't mind seeing another season, and seeing how Yoo In Soo's character does.
10/10

Kendisine en net The Beauty Inside dizisinden aşinayım.  İkisinin de ayrı ayrı trajik hikayeleri arka planda ilerlerken küçük hastanenin hastaları, hastane içinde olan olaylar diziyi götürüyordu. Doktor dizilerinde her bölüm tanıştığımız hastalar asıl hikayeyi şekillendiriyor.

Lee Yu-jin found out about Wang Bit-na's departure
Tumblr media
Lee Yu-jin found out that Wang Bit-na was about to leave.
Episode 35 of KBS2TV's new weekend drama 'Three Siblings Bravely' (script Kim In-young, director Park Man-young), aired on the 22nd, unfolded the story of a K-eldest daughter who had to mature and yield for her family and a K-eldest son who had to support his family as a top star. lost.
Producer Park Man-young, who directed “The Man in the Vineyard,” “Marry Me,” and “Sweet Secret,” and writer Kim In-young, who wrote “Unkind Women,” “The Equator Man,” and “Woman in the Sun,” collaborated. Including Lee Ha-na and Lim Joo-hwan, Jung Jae-soon, Lee Kyung-jin, Song Seung-hwan, Jang Mi-hee, Kim Seung-soo, Wang Bit-na, Lee Tae-sung, Kim So-eun, Lim Ye-won, and Lee Yu-jin, among other talented actors, completed a fantastic lineup.
Kim Tae-joo (Lee Ha-na) is having a difficult life as a doctor. Yoo Jung-sook (Lee Kyung-jin) always ordered Kim Tae-joo to yield to her younger sister, Kim So-rim (Kim So-eun). Kim Tae-joo was the 'eldest daughter of K in tears' who had to yield everything to her younger siblings since she was a child. In the past, Yoo Jung-sook remarried Kim Ha-bok (Song Seung-hwan), taking her daughter, Kim Tae-joo. Afterwards, her younger siblings were born, and Yoo Jung-suk asked Kim Tae-joo, “You must yield to her younger siblings unconditionally.”
However, Kim So-rim felt the same way. In the past, Kim So-rim had a scandal with her older sisters Kim Tae-joo and Lee Sang-joon (Im Ju-hwan), and she got into a physical fight with Lee Sang-joon's younger sister Lee Sang-min (Moon Ye-won) at school, resulting in her being suspended and she failing the college entrance exam. As her relationship with Lee Sang-jun turned into a bad relationship, Kim Tae-joo only had bad memories of him, but in the end, Kim Tae-joo confessed her feelings to Lee Sang-jun, and the two registered their marriage before they even got married.
Jang Yeong-sik (Min Seong-wook) said that he raised Jang Ji-woo, Lee Sang-joon's out-of-wedlock son, as his own child. Even Lee Jang-mi (Ahn Ji-hye), the biological mother of Jang Ji-woo (Jung Woo-jin), appeared in front of Lee Sang-joon and Kim Tae-joo. Kim So-rim's ex-boyfriend Jo Nam-soo (Yang Dae-hyuk) plotted her evil deeds after finding out that Shin Moo-young (Kim Seung-soo) and Kim So-rim liked each other. Kim So-rim cleared her name thanks to Shin Moo-young, but she said goodbye when she learned that Shin Moo-young was the CEO of her company. Jang Hyeon-jeong (Wang Bit-na), who had a one-night stand with Kim Gun-woo (Lee Yu-jin), became pregnant with Kim Kun-woo's child.
Lee Jang-mi came to Kim Tae-joo's house and claimed that she had given birth to Lee Sang-jun's son. However, in the process, the two got into a physical fight, and Kim Tae-joo bumped her head, causing her to lose her recent memory. Besides, she couldn't remember her marriage to Lee Sang-jun, whom she liked so much.

Rewatch, The Great Doctor, episodes 18-20
Rewatch notes begin
This series is also known as Faith.
And after a very lengthy Act III, we now get a relatively short Act IV.
Choi Young has been risking his life all along for Doctor Yoo Eun Soo's safety, among others, and toward the end of Act III, the doctor has shown a willingness to risk her life for Choi Young's safety as well. But with Act IV, she is guided by a voice from the past, or perhaps from the future, or perhaps both.
Spoilers follow. You can skip to my notes on episodes 21-24.
Machinations between Prince Gi Cheol, Prince Deok Heung, and the Yuen Dynasty envoy continue. Deok Heung attacks the doctor with a poison that will slowly kill her in about a month (assuming he's telling the truth, something we've learned we can't count on - although she certainly is displaying unnerving symptoms). The doctor escapes with Choi Young's escort and the king's unofficial blessing, on the idea that she can cure the poison if she makes it back to the future. But, partway there, the doctor abandons her escape and insists Choi Young take her back to the palace. Why? She discovers a note her future self has left for her, telling her she needs to go back, even if it means she will die, to save the king and queen and, presumably, Choi Young, and that she, future Eun Soo, has eternal regret that she herself did not go back.
Who else could the note be from? It's in Hangul, something which doesn't yet exist in 14th century Goryeo. Yet it looks old, covered in mold, but protected in plastic, something else which didn't exist at the time. So it must have been placed in the past. And we, the viewer, see future/past Eun Soo overlaid on the scene, placing the note for her past/future self.
She goes back to the palace.
Okay, we need to have a discussion about time travel. How many timelines are there in this series? So far we've only seen one. While the future seems to have no knowledge of Choi Young's or Gi Cheol's supernatural powers, there don't seem to be any conflicts. In fact, the doctor seems to have earlier in the series saved the life of the boy who will eventually grow to be the man who kills Choi Young. That is, anything she does in the past is already part of the history Eun Soo knew in 2012 South Korea.
So, if future Eun Soo indeed passed up the chance to save the king and queen, changing Korea's history, that would seem to be a violation of the already part of history rule and we would have two different timelines.
Or, what if future Eun Soo is lying to 1350's Eun Soo, effectively letting her know what she has to do and giving her the courage to do so? How would she have known? This is one of those weird time loops, sort of. Things happen that would not have happened without the time travel, but if there's no paradox, then has anything really been broken? 1350's Eun Soo has already acted on knowledge in the notebook, for example, learning when the "heaven's gate" will open again and preparing to act on it. Circles upon circles.
What happens if she dies? Does that mean the hidden note will never exist? Or the supposed Hwata relics?
Continue with episodes 21-24.

Do you really love me...?
You got so cranky whenever I tried to cure you. You didn't even make eye contact with me.
See? Even now, you can't look at my eyes.
Lol this scene was so funny. Poor frustrated general.
After 6 episodes :
The fish out of water/ personality clash is so fun. LMH and KHS have great chemistry and play well against each other.
The politics are a bit harder to get into, the villain is a caricature (but I like it better when actors don't take their role too seriously and have fun, the prince's actor is evidently enjoying himself), the King and the Queen need to sit down AND TALK!
