Hello everyone! I posted a while back about my Indonesian superhero comic ROSANA! and it's now LIVE on Kickstarter! You can now back the project to get rewards featuring digital editions, print editions, a range of merchandise (scroll below to see some examples), custom art and sponsorship credits for the comic!
Our Kickstarter will run for 2 more weeks and close on August 15, so get your orders in before then!
A new Indonesian superhero has arrived on the scene.
ROSANA! The Origin Story Anthology contains issues #1-4 of this action-packed, sci-fi inspired comic, about our superheroine’s fight to save her island and her family! It will also feature a digital preview of issue #5, which means you'll be getting 80+ pages of comic and art!
Artists featured in the cover previews below include @bajingoarts, @curlytsunamiart and @shaccharin ✨
ROSANA! The Origin Story Anthology will explore the beginnings of Rosana’s adventure, which starts when her island receives a visit from a mysterious pilot, the first outsider in decades. The story is set in a post-apocalyptic future where very few people remain on Earth after the most successful fleet of space colonists left twenty years ago. Their departure was supposed to allow Earth to restore and replenish its ecosystems, but something has gone wrong – and Rosana will soon find out about the space organisation’s nefarious plans for their surviving islands.
Issues #1-4 will introduce us to Rosana, her superpowers, her family and her first encounter with the International Space Organisation - and someone on the inside might hold the key to her origins.
Here's a preview of sticker variants you can get, designed by @shaccharin!
Check out our full Kickstarter page for more info! You can follow us on Twitter, Instagram, or sign up to our mailing list for future updates after the campaign!

NEW STORY: Mirage Manhattan — WxW Superhero Romance
So, I found out about the Kindle Vellys like entirely too late but a challenge never stopped me and I've had this quick novella idea in my head for months. I literally outlined it July 30 and started writing August 1st. Welcome to my crackpot NaNoWriMo, but instead of a month, I have about 3 weeks and I'm expecting it to be about 30k instead of 50 :)
I'm a little stressed.
So, if you want a gay superhero story, this is for you. Imagine MHA style quirks with the Boys media/government system and a Wanda Maximoff/Atom Eve Queer MC. I'm so hype for this and I feel like a lot of other people will be too.
For Kindle Vella, the first 3 episodes are free, I have 2 episodes available right now, so if you'd like to tune in and watch me churn out 8 more episodes in 2 weeks, feel free to follow along! I really want to win this thing and I put myself in the absolute worst situation to do so, but we're here!
If you want to read and follow along, I've put the link below. Thanks for your support! XOXO - Rita BS
Mirage Manhattan
SYPNOSIS: In the year 2105, the world has adapted to the ravages of climate change. Ninety-nine percent of all living creature has developed unique powers to survive in this new reality—except for Samirah Hayes. As a young, newly debuted YA fantasy author, she belongs to the 1 percent of the population who remains unevolved, with no affinity to her name.
Samirah's ordinary life takes a dramatic turn when her brother mysteriously vanishes, and her mother refuses to reveal his whereabouts. Overnight, Samirah discovers she possesses insanely powerful illusionary abilities. With an uncontrollable affinity and a missing brother, she falls under the supervision of Flux, a hero of the Cape Corps, a military branch dedicated to training heroes who respond to global missions.
From a recent graduate author to a fledgling superhero, Samirah’s life undergoes a radical transformation. She must navigate her new powers, the search for her brother, and a developing relationship with her superhero roommate.

I love insomniac miles, I really do but everytime that boy speaks you can just tell that he was written by non black ppl
#he’s a dweeb…and not in a good way lol#like u can tell that the team is desperately trying to show that they did thier research and they’re making an authentic ‘black Spider-Man’#but it’s falling flat. this is why I will always say that the behind the scenes should be just as diverse as the media itself#it’s not IMPOSSIBLE for white people to write good black characters but it takes a bit more collaboration w actual black ppl#or else you’ll get shit like the father of your black superhero sharing a name w the president of the confederacy🥴#miles morales#insomniac spider man

Can we please stop arguing about diversity in media please? Like why TF are you so concerned with the race or gender or sexuality of charecters?
"oh I don't mind if you make new charecters that are LGBT/poc, just make it new charecters" bitch you bitched about rings of power for having non white charecters in lord of the rings.
"then just make ORIGINAL STORIES and don't touch pre established ones" ok fine, but every movie released from an entirely new IP that features LGBT or poc is slammed for being "woke"
So...you don't want any diversity in media? Is that you want? You want nobody but yourself to be represented above in pop culture? Jesus Christ I don't care. At the end of the day it's just a cartoon or movie or a game that we use to cope with this shitty 9-5 society. Who gives a shit about a charecters race gender or sexuality? At the end of the day it just makes people feel seen in society.
Fundamentally having a charecter like you in a piece of media you like makes you feel less alone in the world. That's it.

Author Spotlight: E.A. Noble
I’m E.A. Noble, and I write Queer and Diverse Fantasy for the Culture. I grew up in Mississippi with my great-grandmother, who encouraged me to turn my dreams into reality. Becoming a writer was always what I wanted to do. As a Queer, fat, Black, AuDHD, and disabled woman, it was important to me to write stories that amplify voices like mine. I want it to be normalized that we can be the love…

Quick Gotham Knights thoughts after 4x04...
I think Harper & Stephanie have some chem. I'd like to see that explored. 🧐
IMO Turner's best chem is with Carrie so that's to relationship I want to see happen and be explored.

I love blue beetle and its message and I wish more people had watched it and I understand that the lack of promotion both because of the strikes and because the studios don't give a shit has affected it negatively and the role that racism/xenophobia play in people's disinterest towards the characters in general BUT PLEASE let's also not forget about superhero fatigue
#i keep seeing people complain about the marvels and blue beetle flopping like: we finally got representation and people aren't showing up#and honestly have they considered that these movies (although valuable stories) are being made in part as a last ditch attempt at relevancy#marvel didn't make the Black Widow movie when it thought it had something to lose which ironically would've been a better statement than#those post-mortem crumbs they tossed at us with it#black adam shang chi blue beetle eternals and whatever else... people forget these studios need audience more than the audience needs them#they're not doing it cause representation suddenly matters (and I don't mean creators and especially not poc I mean the suits)#they're doing it cause they have something to gain and nothing to lose that they're aren't losing already (attention/public interest)#and above all else: money#so sure it's upsetting that one of my favorite superheroes is not getting the love he deserves but look at the market baby#we're fucking tired and these crumbs don't help and the political climate is a mess#studios wave diversity on our faces and even preach some good messages but then they go and put their money where exactly?#hm.#blue beetle#marvel#dceu

Phat Liberation
As Fat Liberation Month comes to a close, I wanted to celebrate it with a piece that I felt would capture the spirit of love, self-love and body positivity from the perspective of my Minneapolis Superheroes, Kinetic and Puck.
Standing before a wall of graffiti with a few words of affirmation, Kinetic holds Puck in a romantic and intimate moment.
If the concept or pose feels familiar to anyone, that would be because it was heavily inspired by the Miles Morales: Spider-Man Unknown 616 Virgin Variant Spider-Gwen Cover, which is a personal favorite piece of Spider-Man artwork.
For those who may be curious, I know I've vaguely brought it up before, but I don't think I've ever properly addressed it outright:
The Fat Liberation Movement seeks to dismantle fatphobia, challenge societal norms around body size, and empower individuals of all shapes and sizes to embrace their bodies without shame or discrimination. This piece embodies those ideals, promoting the freedom to live, love, and fight for justice—no matter the size.
This artwork is my final contribution to Fat Liberation Month this year (The other one was the Tennis pic, by the way), emphasizing the importance of body diversity and the power of self-acceptance. I hope it inspires everyone to stand tall, love themselves, and embrace the liberating power of their own bodies.
Never forget that You Matter, and you're beautiful.

I'm no expert on the LEGION OF SUPER-HEROES, but I do know that some of its members (Dream Girl, Brainiac 5, Phantom Girl, XS, etc) have ancestors active in the present day comics continuity.
I don't need the whole Legion to descend from present-day superheroes (although I do have some headcanon for a few), but I'd love to see a superhero ancestor of Dawnstar active in the present.

I want a superhero to meet his otherdimensional counterparts and discover that HE’S the one with the nonstandard color palette.
#miles morales kind of achieves this by not being a riff on peter parker#but his friends are a pretty good mix so it probably didnt seem as obvious to him#meanwhile imagine the hero shows up and finds almost every other version of him has a red suit and he’s the only one in blue#or just as fun#he finds out he’s the rare male variant and all the other versions of him are ladies#humor#river rambles#superheroes#spiderman#but really any hero#spiderman has become so diverse that its less obvious#lots of non peter parkers now

For those who love the X-Men animated series of the 1990s as well as the comic book adaptation series X-Men Adventures.
May this post remind you of the time when X-Men was not woke and did not have nonsense like transgender, critical race theory and nonbinary. These were comics made for the fans, not the woke nuts.

Shows for the gays, in that they're full of queer characters and that's just their default and the story they feel like telling, and I wish that would've been normal growing up but it wasn't so I'm fucking real happy it is now (but mostly for Me because everyone's tastes vary and there's many shows for us that are probs not my thing or your thing etc). It's just like... I genuinely remember when I grew up, if you wanted anything with even one main gay character you pretty much had to watch the gay channel, a specific cable channel, and then rhe big shows were romance life focused which isn't my personal cup of tea or romance movies and like. You were thankful you even got ahold of them. Then gradually a single 1-2 queer characters cropped up in some sci fi shows, and a handful of high drama life type shows. And now? Now if I just want a fun comedic show or supernatural show or just More Genres of things? At least there's some options with queer characters, more than there certainly used to be.
Comedy vampires: what we do in the shadows
Comedy pirates: our flag means death
High drama vampires: interview with the vampire
High drama pirates: black sails
#rant#and like? if we scale back to Only 1-2 queer characters?#star trek strange new worlds! which id like to watch! ds9 had dax as the last pansexual lets GO.#the expanse i hear has polyamory. i know the killjoys is pretty queer. legends of tomorrow i hear is pretty queer if you like superheroes.#theres stuff like shameless which is sort of the Real setting high drama shows that#added characters first (also skins. degrassi. pretty little liars)#and like. god its NICE. its nice i can choose to simply Not watch shit that doesnt have queer people#sure i can watch a show without us. but its a choice. its not a requirement. my options are no longer#Genre i like OR queer characters. now both together is a common option#LUCIFER gave plenty of queer characters and in many ways succeeded with more women and more diversity in a way#shows before it like Supernatural did not as much.
