Funny thing about Fireball is that despite it being a comedy series first and foremost, nothing can describe the deep feeling of dread I feel whenever I think about the immense amount of time that passes between episodes. Once I noticed it, I couldn’t stop noticing it. Like. In the original series, episode 1 is set in the year 48’650 and by episode 13, it’s 48’794. Episodes range from taking place either 8 or 16 years apart from one another. Maybe it’s just me, but there’s something about it that just really adds to the ever-present feeling of loneliness and insignificance that surrounds every single aspect of what’s ultimately a comedic CGI anime about two robots doing nothing of consequence in their colossal, empty mansion.
