The materials for this painting I paid, I bought with money I made from paintings I did. It is from 2010. Money was always an important topic in my life. Scarce resource, the pocket money being a child/ teen. The conotation ‘ Claus ‘ has a blanty way open criminal streak: ‘ Steal it/ thief it/ just rob it/ take it / grab it ( with a ugly/ non gracious/ greedy/ envious flair ). Yes you can although interpretate the word ‘ Claus ‘ from a masculine/ positive / clear/ alpha/ cold/ authorian/ strong male role model point of view). A few years learned in Dutch ( Netherlands ) my family name means: ‘ small business/ shop/ business interaction. From buying my first spraycans ( painting materials in 1989) - recent years, money investing in materials, food, in paying bills, always lacking money. When I had money, from a poverty perspective, I was spending it all on food, taxi, sexworkers. Money bad master, good servant. The last 10 years was living below poverty limit/ level, foodstamp range. Just studio painting, no breath to make moves like going having a pizza ( carbs ), going on a day trip, buying myself water when meeting a woman in the park. ( No although when in abundance woman pays for herself.) although in my partyyear 2008/09, i was going the weekend with 15 euros for 3 days. Being low money was good the last years, learning focusing on doing what is essential. Like a footsoldier/ animal in jungle. I would have although operated like that with abundance. Properly just visiting in my free time sexworkers ( you pay to leave), overeating food ( fighting my fatt cells ). So compared to a few years I became much better eating less.
