Monsters Vs Aliens AU: "Microscopius"
Yeah I've been on a MVA kick lately like I was years ago, so here have this 'little' thing I've been developing. Basically it's a sort of role swap AU and Alternate Timeline all at once. To put it bluntly, what if Susan WASN'T struck by the meteorite, but a certain not so kosher fiancé was? Yeah it was Derek. Yes I'm taking easily the most despised character in the entire fandom and making an AU that focuses on him for laughs.
As for how the Quantonium affects him, instead of turning into a giant, he... does the opposite. The substance causes him to shrink down to a mere six inches tall because I thought the idea was amusing. Like, since Susan was based off of the 50 foot woman trope, why not The Incredible Shrinking Man for Derek?
After he is of course caught and imprisoned by the government, he ends up being kept in a hamster cage because there wasn't a cell small enough for him. Said cage is complete with a wheel, a water dispenser and various pieces of doll furniture. His cage is put inside Dr Cockroach's cell as a means of weird cellmates, which isn't fun for either of them.
He is given the name "Microscopius" by the government, and despite being tiny and harmless he manages to make life a living hell for everyone around him in the facility (he and Link end up butting heads pretty much all the time).
As for what becomes of Susan in this AU, she gets to live on as a normal human being and is distraught that her husband-to-be has been taken away, not caring that he's less than a foot tall.
When it comes to the situation with Gallaxhar, I haven't quite figured it all out yet. Saving the world will be tough when you're the size of a doll.
More to come later.

MvA H/Cs
Derek
His parents are divorced. They split when he was 11. His dad lives in West Virginia, which Derek avoids talking about cuz he knows a handful of people associate West Virginia with hillbillies
The apple of his mom's eye as the youngest, a son she always wanted and her source of comfort when her marriage fell apart. He can almost do no wrong
Has an older brother named Jason who was rather successful and a bit popular throughout school, college, and his career. This brought up a lot of insecurity and a sense of competition for Derek. This brother was one of his groomsmen for the wedding at his mother's insistence
Was considered handsome in high school and college but never as much as his brother. Was only nice and considerate to the pretty/cute and popular girls; a good handful of girls were jealous of Susan
Also has an estranged older sister named Hannah. She got tired of her family's drama and moved to Austria to study art 4 years before the timeline of the movie. So far, she has only returned to see her family in California once and didn't bother coming to her brother's wedding
Isn't a total butthead but, again, has lots of insecurity he tries to deny. He always had to be the best out of everything he was a part of in high school and college
Has to really work his way back to the top after Susan turned him down in front of audiences across at least some parts of central Cali and soon audiences worldwide after someone leaked the camera footage onto YouTube
The President
Did a really good job about following the basics for a modern-day American election campaign: brown nose his target audience, talk smack about the opposing candidates/party, make a truckload of promises that are impossible to keep, and have incredible charisma. That's the only reason why he was elected
Has had all his social media pages suspended indefinitely
Thinks Hamilton was the first USA president and that Lin-Manuel Miranda just fictionalized part of his life story. After finding out over half of The Greatest Showman was fictional, he's lost his trust in anything that's a biodrama/biopic/whatever
A really good pianist and tennis player. Tried his hand at golf but it didn't end well
Married. The first lady of the USA is just a little smarter than he is
Honestly, the vice president is the saving grace of American politics. For example: he has to take international affairs into his hands, lest the President screws up by cracking jokes about stereotypes about other countries or suggesting strategies of violence. Like, saying "Thatsa spicy meataball" when meeting the Italian president or saying "just nuke [insert name of problematic region of the world here] and it'll take care of everything"
Releasing the monsters is the saving grace of his presidency. His approval rates would've probably dropped into negative digits if it weren't for the "Monsters vs. Aliens idea thingy"
Tried to make his birthday a national holiday, like a bank holiday, but it never happened
Has a Michael Scott type of approach to his job and different parts of his life
The only time this man is allowed to drink is during very private and very personal affairs, like a family vacay. The most this guy can have in public is a diet Coke or a mocktail
His presidency will only last one four-year term. He'll always try running for his second term until his dying day
His name is George

spooky tuesday is a (now not so new!) podcast where we’re breaking down all of our favorite slashers, thrillers, monster movies and black comedies on the new scariest day of the week.
ever wonder what would happen if scream’s stu macher had a chance to grow up, go to college, and even set his sights on grad school? the curve (1998) — also known as dead man’s curve — is just the film to answer that question to predictably disastrous results. though you might not have heard of it, this movie is more than worth the watch, and it’s a film close to all of our hearts. on a new episode of spooky tuesday, we’re celebrating our boy matty lilly’s birthday by unearthing an underappreciated classic from one of horror’s favorite stars.
give spooky tuesday a listen on apple podcasts, spotify, iheart radio, or stitcher

Everybody vs. Teresa and the Narcissist
Tumblr media
Death threats, threatening phone calls, hiring private investigators, and alleged conversations with the FBI.
One would think I was talking about RHOSLC.
But no. This behind-the-scenes drama has made the entire season irrelevant, and I blame Teresa Giudice and Luis Ruelas for that.
Well, mostly Luis.
He said one thing on the show and another at the reunion. He’s so two-faced that he forgets which personality he’s supposed to present half the time.
He cannot be trusted, and nothing can convince me that Luis isn’t behind all of this.
And it completely backfired on them, because they managed to make Margaret Josephs look better after the season with their ridiculous antics.
There’s something mesmerising to witness someone burning all their bridges. We saw it on the Vanderpump Rules reunion, and we see it at this reunion.
However, it blows my mind that Dolores Catania and Jennifer Aydin can continue to support Teresa and Luis after this reunion.
They should leave that team like rats from a sinking ship.
But Jennifer kept on supporting Teresa’s ridiculous accusations:
That Teresa had proof about who gave her up to the FBI. That Luis didn’t hire the private investigator.
Why is she co-signing this?! It’s ridiculous! Jennifer is loyal to a fault.
When I see them all at the reunion, it’s obvious that Andy Cohen adores Teresa and Joe Gorga.
There’s no way he’s going to fire one of them for next season.
While I don’t agree with what Joe and Melissa Gorga has posted on social media, or said on podcasts in very self-righteous ways, I feel bad for them.
I understand why Teresa’s daughter were mad at Joe and Melissa, like Jennifer said: “why can’t they just apologize for that comment”?
But in the big picture that’s nothing compared to what Luis and Bo Dietl has caused behind the scenes.
There wasn’t even any resolution to this mess, but it looked like Andy’s heart stopped when Luis went over to shake Joe’s and Frank Catania’s hands.
What did I say? He cannot be trusted. Not even to stay in his fucking chair.

Heyy! I love your blog, and I wanted to ask - do you have any headcannons about the Aliens in MvA? For me Sta'abi seems like a Lesbian...
gaww I'm happy to hear! gosh headcanons are so hard for me, apologies in advance that this is all over the place!!
hmm since it's pride, for fun I'd say Susan & Link are bi, Doc is a transman & aromantic or gay, Bob is nonbinary & pan ace
Coverton is either gay or demi aroace, Sqweep is a nonbinary (trans?)girl & ace lesbian, Sta'abi is pan demisexual, although I'm never set on labeling them but that's my idea!
oh and Gallaxhar is ace, Derek is bi (probably closeted)
‌the monster agents have their own private island where they live work free, nicknamed "Monster Beach"
Susan, ‌Doc, Link, & Bob have separate living spaces, but they share the same (beach) house. There are 3 floors and 1 ground floor, which extends to Susan's area that is the majority of the entire building. There's a lab/garage for Doc's projects just off the main residence, but the real works are at Area 5X. ‌Butterfly sleeps in a cavern of the cove behind a waterfall curtain.
‌Link has a driving license, a piloting licence, and a fishing licence and soon a licence to kill yes he has a car it's his 2nd baby
Link deserves a stuffed animal collection I think, but of course, his no. 1 will always be the rabbit, and they're all grouped on his heating pad rock thing
‌Susan video calls her parents weekly, tries to visit at least once a month but its more of whenever she can
‌Doc & Megamind are buddies. Although when the agents first met Megs it was a monsters vs alien situation (or monsters vs megamind hehe)
‌Doc's cockroach research contributed to the development of adding longevity to the average human which explains why Monger can be 90 and look like that, a less mad science former partner of his is responsible for this
‌there's an international Antarctic base that holds alien tech from around the globe (or at least what isn't "important" in each country's respective secret governments), these are mostly big and useless other than for study, an alien junkyard really
‌not sure how this would happen but I like the idea of Derek occasionally covering live news of the agents at work so a running gag is him getting splashed, slimed, dusted, swarmed, and such
Derek must have majored in meteorology, so there has to be something there. it's a special interest in weather and environmental sciences, but he'd avoid ever being called a nerd so it isn't that well known. he also had a hobby in photography, then wanted to be in front of the camera instead
‌MVA takes place in the same universe as Megamind, The Croods, How To Train Your Dragon, Rise Of The Guardians, Home, and Abominable (Shrek is canonically fictional, so dreamworksception? implying live action Shrek actually)
‌Link's species, the "aquappe", are not directly related to homo sapiens, but one of the cousin's ancestors (homo erectus?). I like to think their species evolutionary process was very back and forth (like a whale), but eventually became modern day mermaids. Like apes and whales they sing, but Link's adjustment to speaking might have affected his vocal cords. He still likes to sing, just shy about it like in the karaoke music party.
‌Link's first language is sign, which he learnt from Monger and few others, he learned proper English from Doc & TV
‌Bob also learned from TV, and Monger talked to him a lot
Bob's consumption/absorption of any material helps him regulate his mass. He floats on saltwater but will eventually break down after a very long period of time.
‌Monger has back scars from asserting his dominance over Link, an accidental acid burn from feeding Bob, and a matching chemical burn with Doc after he showed off one of his inventions
before Area 5X, Monger hunted monsters under an alias, although he was unsuccessful because it turned into a monster romance on at least 2 separate occasions

Schtonk
Tumblr media
Schtonk    [trailer]
The slightly fictionalized story of an art forger, a journalist desperate for a big story, and the biggest press scandal in German history: the Hitler Diaries.
In terms of story, one of the funniest German comedies of all time. Often movies based on real events fail at making a memorable film. But in this case it takes the already farcical story it is based on and runs with it. And the whole cast is up for it.
"The FĂĽhrer, Herr OberstumbannfĂĽhrer, he won't burn."
