Kind of insecure

He's also angry and crushes whatever he's holding in his hands

He's surprised when looking down at the crushed item

Then he becomes annoyed

He'll go to the bathroom to clean up and you'll quickly follow him

"Are you okay?"

He's surprised by your presence and the fact that you followed him

He'll then feel bad about his feelings before

You would never hurt him and he knows that, so why would he even feel that way? You've never done anything to justify that feeling

"Um... Nothing, I accidently- uh, crushed this thing- You know... Strength issues..."

You'll help him clean up/patch up and it makes Luther guilty and he momentarily forgets about the previous feeling... At least until next time

Deigo Hargreeves & Lila Pitts

What a duo

Lila definitely filled Diego's head with delusions and will convince him to do something stupid [Like kill the person flirting w/ you] while she hides the body

Lila takes it better, but inside she's more pissed than Diego

Diego is mad at you and won't talk to you. You'll have to profusely apologize and prove to him you care, otherwise he won't speak to you. Trust, he can hold a grudge

Lila, on the other hand, is very extroverted and will go over to where you are and talk to the person who was flirting with you

There's is definitely tension in the air, even though it doesn't show on her face

She's all smiles and happy, but it doesn't show in her eyes

Deigo is mad, but Lila sees it as an opportunity to manipulate you [She also wants a reason to kill somone]

You try and talk back and she'll bring up how sad it makes them when people flirt with you and she'll emotionally manipulate into feeling bad

You didn't like the person but... maybe she's right? I mean- you didn't exactly tell the person no or that you were taken, but you had asked them to stop.... Was that enough?

Allison Hargreeves

Oh, no no no nononononono

She is NOT letting that happen

The person who's flirting with you must have a death wish

She doesn't want to use her powers, but...

Well, she really has to fight the urge

She looks very sweet and kind, so she can just come into the conversation and play nice girl

She'll drag you off, talking about needing your help or something, while apologizing for taking you away [But she doesn't really mean it]

You won't even notice she's mad until you're alone

She'll accuse you of cheating or trying to leave her

You're taken by surprise, but don't even try and fight her, because she's in a very low/depressive state, so she'd be easy to push into doing something drastic

So, you'll have to wait until she feels better to confront her

Klaus Hargreeves

They already assume you don't love them, so this just fills this delusion they have

It really bums them out and they get super depressed

They get extra clingy whenever they get you alone

They're usually pretty clingy, so you don't think about it to much

Until, they start whining about the guy at the bar

They'll ask you if you like them [Flirter] more than them [Klaus]

You'll tell them no, but they don't believe you

They'll emotion manipulate you saying that you probably hate them and if you ever leave them, they'll kill themselves

Five Hargreeves

Someone flirting with you? Do they have a death wish??

Not afraid to kill a man or women. He doesn't care

The only issue is he'd never admit his jealousy. You have to confront him and at first he'll deny it, but if you keep pushing he'll get pissed and yell 'You know what- I am jealous! So what!?!'

You're surprised he admitted it, but that's the only time you're getting it

He'll deny saying it and gaslight you into thinking it never happened

He will kill them, he just needs a little time, which he has plenty of

It is bloody, gory and gruesome

No one will find the body, but he'll make sure you know the person is dead and it's all your fault

He'll make sure you never do it again because he hates this feeling and it bothers the hell out of him

Ben Hargreeves

He wasn't really having fun at the party, so when seeing someone hit on you, it just made his night worse

He's scared you'll realize that he's not good enough

He hates the icky feeling in his stomach and it only continues to grow

Though it does make the feeling subside when seeing you roll your eyes and push the person out of the way before heading towards him

It makes him giddy and smile; Like a school boy

The fact that you'd chose him over everyone else really fuels his obsession, so be warned

When you get to him, you complain about the person

"Did you see them?"

He'll pretend that he wasn't paying attention and you gasp, before sitting down and ranting about how stupid that person was

He practically has hearts in his eyes and he looks at you like you're the only person in the world, which to him you are

Viktor Hargreeves

He's annoyed, but he's not going to do anything drastic [Or at least he tries]

He wants to do something, but he doesn't really know what to do, because he's never had like a good relationship

He watches sadden from afar before wallowing in his own self pity

Though, after everything that has happened, he is a little bit more confident it just takes some working up before he can go over to you

He'll debate about it for a few though. Like he'll sit up, but quickly sit back down and do it over again until he finally gathers the courage to approach you

He'll finally approach you, thinking of what he's going to do as he approaches you, but when he finally approaches you he's still lost on what to do

He'll just act and kiss you infront of the person, which takes the flirter by surprise

The flirter will apologize and end up leaving you alone

You're surprised by Viktor's brazen behavior, but it's also kind of a turn on and he'll kiss you again before you can comment on it

Marcus Hargreeves

He doesn't get 'jealous'

That word isn't even in his dictionary

Well, that was until he saw a guy flirting with you

What is this feeling???

It's an icky feeling that he doesn't like it

He'll put an end to it quickly [Both the flirting and the feeling]

You're kind of taken aback when Marcus comes up to you and pulls you away from the conversation

He would have folded his way into the conversation, but he would have been passive aggressive

You try and ask him what's wrong, but he's quick to deflect the conversation

He'll push the feeling deep down and it'll come up when you both get into a fight

Sparrow! Ben Hargreeves

He's furious

If he wasn't busy nursing his drink, he probably would have knocked the guy out. Thankfully he's drunk and not sober

Though he can't help the thoughts in his mind... Violent thoughts

The thoughts will become a lot and he has to leave

He's mad at the person, but then he starts thinking and he suddenly becomes mad at you

How come you didn't tell them to back off????

He becomes slightly insecure but he fights that feeling and it becomes overcome with anger

He'll end up leaving without you, because he needs time to be alone and think

Though, this just makes his feelings worse. While he's drunk he's sad and depressed, but when he becomes sober, his emotions quickly turn to anger and he wants to confront you

So, when he sees you again he's anger has already been bubbling up and he blows up

You're taken aback and kind of scared because he's so mad and he's yelling and you can't even decipher what he's talking about

He needs some time to cool off, but he can't be alone, because his feelings will cool off

You'll go to another room while he cools off, so that he knows you're still around, but you're not alone together

He will eventually calm down and apologize for his behavior, but not with words, but like subtle actions, gifts, and such

Fei Hargreeves

You don't even know she's jealous, because she hides it so well

She's kind of scary looking, so no-one has approached her

She takes her jealousy pretty well and doesn't let it bother her

It just kind of rolls off her back

She's confident and knows who she is and what she wants, so she's not threatened by some nobody trying to hit on you

Though, if she sees you getting uncomfortable, she will step in

Thanks to her looks, they back off rather quickly

It's rather silly to her and she finds the whole thing stupid

She takes it the best and doesn't let it bother her

Sloane Hargreeves

She's a sweet girl and doesn't deserve to be sad

She's a hopeless romantic, so when she sees people flirting and being cute, she instantly is like 'Awww' until she realizes it's you

Then she's mad and her mind races with multiple different scenario

What if you leave her?

Oh god, what if you don't love her anymore?

What if you click with them so well that you think they're you're soul mate and you leave he-

She shakes her head, before standing up

She fixes her hair, before putting on her brightest smile and approaching you

She's very beautiful, so they person who was hitting on you will turn and flirt with her too

She'll become annoyed, because they were just hitting on you and now they're hitting on her? Were you not good enough for them???

Who did they think they were?

Instead of being mad that they were flirting with you, she's mad they STOPPED flirting with you to flirt with her

You're incredible, so she's confused why they don't realize that

She calls them on it and you're really flattered, but you have to drag her away, so she doesn't get to carried away

Jayme Hargreeves

It's more of an annoyance

She doesn't think about it to much

She's probably the only one who WILL come up to you and interrupt your conversation in a rude way

If the flirter is rude to her she'll use her powers and pull you away from them

It all happens so fast, you don't even process it until you're back at the house

"What the hell was that???"

She doesn't even turn to you, but you do here her make a sound of confusion

Your brows frown, and you groan, "Why did you use your powers on that person"

"Why were you flirting with them?" Still she hasn't turned towards you

"I wasn't flirting with them!"

She keeps her cool, making brash accusations, which causes you to get angry and by the end of it she makes it seem like YOU are the crazy one

HOT TAKE. As a society, we are conditioned to hate final seasons. This is fair. We were all betrayed by Game of Thrones and Supernatural and whatnot. As someone who has never watched these (I have only heard generalised complaints about them), let me (drunkenly) yap about the Umbrella Academy s4.

I'm gonna try and keep this vaguely organised.

Luther

I was an adamant Luther hater back in season one and two, I will admit, meeting his actor at Comic Con in 2021 did colour my opinion a little bit, but I loved him in season three. I mean, his romance with Sloane always felt a little rushed to me, but it was certainly sweet, and their wedding was a nice tie in to the "we only see each other at weddings and funerals" thing.

Pros;

In season four, I loved him. He's optimistic about life and goes to great lengths to brighten the moods of people around him, which is the kind of person he lacked all his life. He's being the person he always needed and I love that for him.

The implication that he's pushing aside his festering feelings of dissatisfaction for his life to be there for other people is so moving, and also I love those moments where him and Allison get to just be normal siblings, showing that he's moved on from that toxic era of his life.

His fight scenes are epic and he's all round a good character this season. I understand people's disdain for being sidelined, along with his grief for Sloane, but there are a certain two factors that should be taken into consideration here. The first being that, by s4e1, its been six years since he lost her. He has probably processed that grief and moved on by now, despite how profound the loss. Obviously he still thinks about her, which is why he occasionally brings her up, but it's been a long time. Additionally, he's semi-sidelined because his character arc was pretty well rounded by the end of s3. He's moved on from Allison and was on a trajectory for a healthier life. Its tragic that he lost Sloane, but good that he continued trying to be happy.

Cons;

I do wish his relationship with Ben had been more developed this season. To me, I think the implication is that he's hanging on to Sparrow Ben as a brother (in-law) because he's the closest remaining connection to the Sparrow Academy, therefore Sloane.

Why is he living in the decrepit Sparrow Academy house? Why? Literally why??? This needed more explanation.

Diego

My mother hates him. I lowkey love him. In season two, his character plus his saviour complex was explored so fucking well. I loved him then. I think his character in season three is a decent testament to how boring 'settling down' can be.

Pros;

He reacts very well to everything that happens. That's the best way I could explain it. The realisation that sometimes life is just normal. Its a sweet plotline and I enjoyed it

I loved his relationship with Luther, his visit to the CIA and the fun approach to his power this season.

His final words to Lila, that he knew she didn't mean to hurt him, were so mature and a brilliant way of rounding off his character with a sense of satisfaction and finality. I loved it so much. In that moment, before everything, he was her husband, and that was beautiful.

Cons;

I have very few. I think his depiction as a mailman is silly. I just wish it had been a different job.

Also I wish he'd spoken more Punjabi because I'm pretty sure (correct me if I'm wrong) he learnt that to converse with Lila and her family in their native language, despite Lila's family speaking English.

Why was he immature enough to fight with Five over his wife when the literal world was ending? Not very consistent with his character development but I still liked that scene. Honestly, that was obviously written in as a segue to Five going back to the subway so I guess it did have to be there it just felt a bit weird.

Allison

Oh dear God. Allison Hargreeves, what happened to you? I loved her so much in seasons one and two. Season three Allison ruined everything ever forever. Not through bad writing. Through very good and despicably devastating writing. She has lost so much and she coped with it so badly that she altered all of time to avoid her grief. The evillest girlboss of all time.

Pros;

CLAIRE! Claire Bear. I love you. Thank you season four for giving us Claire and Claire/Allison bonding time.

Also the fact that she's coping with her being a terrible human being by babysitting Klaus for five years (which she is obviously very spiteful about) is very well written.

I like the return of Allison badassery when she shows up and literally busts a man's balls.

I like how she ends the show being physically vulnerable and now Klaus is taking care of her now. That was cute.

Also I love that she's being held accountable for her actions and it makes her a slightly better person! That was fun.

I like that we learn that without her power she was a B-list actor at best.

Cons;

What the fuck were her powers this season? I know they got janky marigold but why is she literally just telekinetic now????

Why didn't they tell us why Ray walked out? She literally altered time to get him back. Like, I know Allison has fucked up every relationship she's ever had but PLEASE tell us what happened.

Also fuck you for what you did to Klaus.

Klaus.

Oh, Klaus Hargreeves, the man that you were. Season one. TRAGIC. I loved it. Season two, the exact same commentary. Season three, I loved him so much, he keeps being my FAVOURITE and also the idea that the drugs and trauma thwarted the full potential of his powers, but the drugs was the only thing that could keep him sane because of his trauma and his powers was so cool. Well done for beginning to overcome your rampant daddy issues Klaus. Season four. He is still my favourite.

Pros;

Having him sell his body in the weirdest way possible was amazing. I love to see it.

The moment between him and Claire where she knew exactly what was happening and he just repeats 'it's too late' and swears at her. Beautifully devastating.

Him getting buried alive was so fucking fitting I can't properly explain it I just love it.

His final line, and the third-to-final line of dialogue in the whole shows being 'I just wanna say, I love you guys, but you're all assholes' sums up perfectly. And it just had to be him that said that. He can never escape his nihilism and I love him for it. Its who he is.

Learning that the 'real' Klaus is a total germophobe was fun.

Cons;

Give my man more screen time. I beg. I am on my knees begging. Please Mr Blackman. Please Mr Way. Give the love of my life more screen time.

I wish Dave had been mentioned once or twice. Dave is forever a part of Klaus. Why didn't he try to contact him when he got his powers back? Why has he forgotten him? If Luther gets a Sloane mention then Klaus should have gotten a Dave mention. I guess Netflix hates the queers unless they're from Heartstopper (/j)

Five

Five is my mother's favourite and she was vomming this season because of you-know-what. The poor woman. She still loves him though, So did I. Five defines The Umbrella Academy. He spent two seasons wearing the uniform, he got the first f-bomb, he was responsible for SO much exposition. All in all, he is quintessential to the aesthetic, plot, and entire existence of the series. Did season four give him justice?

Pros;

I love Five being a CIA agent. This is so him.

Jerome is a funny name for him.

He doesn't ever stop being himself and I love that.

I like how blunt he is about the fact they all have to end their existence. He understands existentialism and his place in the universe more than his siblings (and most people ever) can fathom. It had to be him to deliver that news and he does it so well.

Cons;

The elephant in the room. Him and Lila. I see it. I see the vision. Yes. If two people spend seven years with only each other for company, suspended in time, they will probably develop a romantic relationship. That doesn't make me like it. It is in character for him to lie to Lila (or withhold information from her)about knowing the way home. I just hated every second of it. I thought they were going to steer clear of Five romantic relationships because of how weird his ageing is. He's mentally more than twenty years older than Lila and physically more than ten years younger than her. It is gross. I hate it. It was a reasonable plot choice Honestly, their relationship remaining strictly platonic would have been less realistic than what happened but when has this show ever been realistic? I will say, it makes sense for Five to revert to old coping mechanisms (I am referring to Delores) in a time like this, it's just that this time he had a real person to enact them with. In times of utter distress, Five is a romanticist, so at least his character is consistent.

Why didn't they let him wear a suit that fits him? That was not nice.

Ben

Sparrow Ben is a sexy cunt. I love how much of a knob he is. All the time. This season was a slay for him. We heart assimilation allegories for love and obsession.

Pros;

I repeat - I love the assimilation metaphor. He didn't get to go with grace. I've seen people criticising that he got no meaningful death scene but that's the point. His meaningful death was stolen from him because of his unhealthy obsession with Jennifer and how deeply in love with her he was. It's a commentary of how toxic and co-dependant relationships will destroy a person. I love it.

I love the scene where him and Jennifer are sat either side of the wall watching the same movie. That was so fucking cute.

Cons;

The CGI for his powers was shit. He looked like the squid version of She-Hulk.

Why have the Umbrellas just adopted him into his family? That was weird.

Victor

I have always loved him. Best trans representation I've ever seen. Autism coded. The amount of times I said 'His powers are just autism sensory overload' or 'his powers are just anger issues' has probably burned the phrase into my mother's mind.

Pros;

I like that he was a manwhore in Canada.

I love him having control over his powers this season. We support self control my man.

I love how adamant he is to save Ben. All this man has ever wanted was to save someone. And he never could. So he sacrificed himself to save the world.

Cons;

I was not here for the fit this season. The boots. The jean jacket. Not a serve. I am sorry.

He was kinda cringe and irrelevant this season I'm not gonna lie.

Lila

Thank you Lila for being what I picture when I hear Golden Brown. It makes me happy.

Pros;

A devoted mother. We love her. I also love that her character involves her children but she's more than that. But she still sacrifices everything for them. "Make sure to read to Gracie every night! And don't let the twins fight!" absolutely destroyed me.

I don't know what it is but her fit ate this season.

Her final words being 'Fuck you!' was fun.

Cons;

Her 'LOOK AT ME LOOK AT ME' personality got annoying after about four episodes. Not even in s4, just in general.

I wish her backstory had been more addressed this season. It was just completely ignored. Sad.

The Plot.

Pros;

If this show is anything, it is self aware. It makes fun of itself for just doing the apocalypse four times. I love it.

The tragic ending. Too many shows have happy endings these days. I need my bittersweet tragedy and the Umbrella Academy delivered. It actually made me bawl because these characters meant so fucking much to me.

I always said that Klaus's story couldn't end without him dying. I also felt like Five dying would work. Now I think that if one of them goes, they all have to. They were born at the same time and they died that way too. It explains WHY they keep ending the world. Their very existence is apocalyptic. They are a collective incarnation of the apocalypse and that just rounds off the show in such a meaningful way.

I know people hate the 'one true timeline' thing and the 'they all die' thing and feel like its a copout, but its so beautiful to me. They were the problem the whole time. They can't just find some creative and resourceful way out of it this time. This is the end. That's WHY the SONG in the TRAILER WAS 'THE END' by My Chemical Romance!!!!!!!!!!!

Cons;

The plot holes like why does Luther getting his powers back give him his monkey body back when the life-saving surgery that he didn't need in this timeline didn't happen???

Along with many other plot holes that have already been pointed out within this post and by other people a million times so I won't go through the tedium of doing what has already been done.

Special mentions!

The Gene & Jean dance scene! The show knew they couldn't get away with making the Umbrellas dance again but they needed an obligatory Umbrella Academy dance scene and they ATE IT UP.

The song they danced to was also a banger, which segues nicely into my next mention which is the SOUNDTRACK. It SLAPS. Muse! Bloodhound Gang! Cher! ALL IN ONE SHOW. The Umbrella Academy's soundtrack has always been amazing and season four is not any different.

The closing line "On the eighth of august 2024" etc. DESTROYED ME.

Random criticism though - the casting for the teen versions of the Umbrellas was ATROCIOUS. Klaus somehow looked five years old and in his mid forties at the same time.

But I still have a heart

Diego pulls his powerless sister behind him when the four of them are met by Elliot with a very distinct firearm. Five makes quick work of disarming the man. The female Hargreeves can’t help but feel useless and helpless again. Diego and Five deal with Elliot, not even noticing how their sister hugs herself.

"You alright?" Lila moves to stand in front of her.

"Yeah, just a fun reminder I am powerless and no help to anyone," the lowest of the Hargreeves siblings admits.

"I doubt that; if you can fight half as well as either of these idiots, then you are fine,” Lila says, gesturing to Five and Diego. “Please don't leave me with this lot."

The Eighth Hargreeves nods, but she is distracted. She finds the same photographs of her siblings that Five had seen. She looks at them one by one.

“Are these your other siblings?” Lila asks.

“Yes,” the saddened sibling states. She ignored her own pictures and focused on the ones of Klaus, Viktor, and Allison. She was used to worrying about Klaus, but she also knew her brother was pretty good at landing on his feet when he was sober enough to do so. And he had been completely sober when she last saw him. She missed him, but she knew he’d survived time travel once. No, she worried about Viktor and Allison the most. Viktor hadn’t even been conscious when Five started to use his powers on all of them. Allison’s vocal cords were too damaged for her to use her powers. Hopefully, her sister healed better than she had.

“Is this you?” Lila asks as she points at the photos of Y/N in the alley.

“Not my favorite day to think about,” the eighth sibling admits.

“If this was your state before you had dropped here, I can see why he was desperate to find you. Good thing the article didn’t have any photos like these.” Lila’s tempted to show them to Diego now, just to see his reaction. A painful reminder of his failure to protect the one person he had spent most of his life trying to protect. That would be entertaining. But the brothers seemed too caught up in whatever the creepy photographer guy said. Creepy to have pictures like this of people he didn’t know hung up in his home. And this was the guy Five trusted? Go figure.

Y/N is in shock as she sees the film, especially when she notices that their father is in it.

"He's here," she mutters to herself as Diego and Five discuss if he killed JFK. She hears none of it as the pulse in her ears drowns them out. Her hands started to shake as she thought about the last time she had seen her father. He had been livid that she was leaving. That she refused to spy on the others. He had tried to stop her from leaving. Demanding Luther as Number One stop her. Luther couldn’t have known back then why their father had tried to keep her leaving more than the others. Their father had already said all sorts of terrible things about her succumbing to weakness. That she was as pathetic as Klaus and no one out there would accept her. She was too different. He hadn’t been completely wrong. Very few people had accepted her. Viktor’s book at least helped her be viewed with sympathy. Sympathy wasn’t acceptance. She thought about Grace and Pogo finding small ways to help her and the others despite risking their father’s ire. They weren’t there to help them anymore. The weakened Hargreeves was more afraid of the fact their father would probably want to find out why her powers failed than she was of the idea she might never get her powers back. She doesn’t notice how Lila watches her. The newest member of their little group easily picks up on the shift in behavior.  

“Diego,” Lila calls. Diego wasn’t used to her calling him by his actual name. No snark. He looks over at her. She nods towards his sister. He sees what she trying to call to his attention instantly. Luz was staring at the image on the projector, but it didn’t look like she was actually seeing it. He’d seen plenty of damaged people in the psych ward with that thousand-yard stare. He calls her name. Five and Elliot look over when she doesn’t answer. Five tries, but she still seems lost to them. The brothers exchange a look before a worried Diego goes over to her.

"Luz?" Diego is in front of her. She finally looks up at him.

"Hmm?"

"Called your name a few times," he says.

"Oh, sorry," she says, " What's up?"

Five shrugs when Diego glances over at him. "Nothing,” Diego says, not wanting to make things worse. “You okay?"

"Dad's in Dallas," she says, her crestfallen tone doesn’t sit well with either of the brothers.

"He is," Diego agrees.

She looks away. "He would be mad if he knew I lost my powers. Without Pogo and Mom, No one will- He'll pick me apart and-"

"That won't happen," Five is quick to stop her.

"He doesn't even know us yet," Diego tries to soothe her worries.

"We don't exist to him." Five is quick to add. "Your anonymity will protect you."

"I'll protect you," Diego quickly offers, brushing his fingers across her cheek. Lila throws a balled-up piece of paper at his head. He corrects himself, “We'll protect you."

“You’re okay, Y/N/N,” Five tells her.

She wants to believe them, but can she? They can’t be with her 24/7. Diego and Lila were on the run. Five was too young, or at least looked like it, and Luther wasn’t always at the club. But she wasn’t going to tell them that. They had enough to worry about. She looks at her watch. “I should go,” she tells them as she get up. “I have a shift to prepare for.”

At the end of her shift she pulls Luther aside.

“Why are we doing this here?” he asks. “I’ll be home in-“

“Because the clock is ticking again, Luther,” she insists. “You wouldn’t believe what Five found. It’s-“

“Don’t care,” Luther says as he starts to walk back towards the club.

“I’m serious, Luther,” she cuts off his path as best she can. “Five and Diego need our help.” He could easily move her out of his way, but she is still his sister, and he still has the task of looking after her here. “Lila and Elliot are helpful and all but-“

“I’m serious too, Y/N,” he states. “You are in no condition to be going along with whatever half discussed plan those two have. And I’m too busy trying to keep a roof-“

“We don’t need the roof here if we can go back-“

He reaches for her arm and starts to lead her towards the car he had been loaned. “You need to go home, and forget-“

“THIS ISN’T OUR HOME, LUTHER!” She screams at him and tries to shove his hand away but it’s a futile effort. “HOME IS WITH OUR FAMILY!”

Luther is keenly aware of the few people that linger outside the club are now looking at them. Watching to see what the giant of a man is going to do to the comparatively tiny waitress. He drops her arm and takes a step back. He tries to think of how to calm her down, but he hadn’t seen her this mad since he locked Viktor in the bunker. He never knew how to handle her temper. Their siblings did, but Luther usually just let the fire in her fade. He should probably feel guilty that he’s glad she didn’t have the Wisp. She couldn’t burn him alive with the thing now. She was already drawing enough attention to them by arguing with him in the damn parking lot.

“Say what you want, just stop screaming,” he demands.

“This is bullshit,” she practically hisses at him, but she had lowered her tone enough that no one would know what she was saying. “You think that things aren't fair for you because you do all the work to keep me safe. That’s your damn job, Number One! You were so bitchy last time because no one respected you as Dad’s Number One! I did, Luther! I did and look where we are now. Look at me, Luther!” She snaps. “The Wisp is gone. My powers are gone, but even I am trying to fix this mess. Why aren’t you? Last time you were all about fixing shit, saving the world. Now? Nothing. You don’t care. Well I do. Don’t you miss the others? Don’t you miss Klaus? Viktor? I know you miss Allison.”

“That’s not-“ he starts but she isn’t finished.

“You wanted us to rely on you. Now I’m asking you, as the one sibling that does, to do the right thing. Please, Luther.”

“No,” he bluntly states as he shoves the car keys into her hand. She stares at him with angry, tear-filled eyes. But he won’t let her sad eyes work this time. “Go home. Better yet, go tell Five and Diego sending you to beg for them won’t work this time. You shouldn’t even be involved in any of this. Without your powers-“

“That’s right! I don’t have my powers, but I still have a heart. Did you lose yours when you landed in that stupid alley? Are you even happy here? Because I’m not. Do you think I enjoy being degraded by old creepy men that think how a waitress responds when they grab a girl's ass determines her tip? I am cold and scared, and I miss my family. And that roof you mention, my tips pay for most of what’s under it. I do everything you tell me to. I run your errands. You won’t let me take a break, let alone try to find the rest of our family. We need to find Allison. I need to find Klaus and Viktor. They-“

“You think I haven’t tried to find them? And all I do now I do is to protect you,” he counters. “You needed someone to take care of you, and I stepped up. Would you rather still be in that hospital or on the street? You’d probably be a warden of the state or, worse, dead. No powers. No documentation. Don’t act like you don’t need me.”

She was taken aback at the familiarity of his statement. It was very similar to the one that just seeing her father had brought back. Then again, what did she expect. He was Number One. “Then let me make this a hell of a lot easier for you,” she says as she shoves the keys into his chest. “You’ll be so glad when I’m someone else’s burden again, won’t you?”

He grips the keys tight and groans. He didn’t actually hate that she relied on him. She was one of his least annoying siblings. She’d just hit a sore spot with some of her points. Sure, he missed Allison, but he thought they had been doing okay before Five showed back up. They had a life here. “Come on, Y/N/N,” He starts to backtrack, but she is already halfway across the parking lot. “You know I didn’t mean it like that!”

She ignores him and hails a cab. Thankfully, the driver didn’t ask questions beyond where she was headed. She gave him Elliot’s address. He’d probably seen his fair share of tearful women trying to leave a painful situation. Probably thought she was a pathetic dame who caught her husband at the gentleman’s club one too many times. He couldn’t possibly know the truth.

Diego takes one at her after Elliot lets her in and sees red. Just seeing the mascara-stained tear tracks and red rimmed eyes is enough. He is ready to fight whoever has upset her. He’d burn Jack Ruby’s club to the ground if he must. His rage only grows when she tells him she had fought with Luther. Five barely manages to talk him down as Lila takes her to the bathroom and helps clean her up.

"There's that lovely face," Lila grins as she wipes the last of the makeup from the other’s face.

"Thank you," the female Hargreeves manages now that she is calm and clean.

"Anytime," Lila winks before she leads her out. The waitress is still in her skimpy little work outfit, and Diego can't remember if he'd ever seen her in anything like that before. His mouth goes dry. Even with her hair pulled back, no makeup and no powers, he still thinks she’s perfect.

Lila rolls her eyes.

"Easy lover boy, your girl is fragile," Lila says in a low tone as she pushes past him to sit on the couch and watch TV. Diego glares at her. But for the weaker sibling, that breaking of eye contact is like breaking a spell. She feels uneasy again. Like she still doesn't know who she really is. Diego sees the way her shoulders slump and she looks at the floor. Suddenly shy, despite the scandalous outfit for the time.

"He didn't hurt you, did he?” Diego asks. “Five says Luther is different, that he-"

She shook her head. "He just doesn't listen," she says as she sits down at Elliot's kitchen table. Her face in her hands for a moment. "And I don't get it. Last time stopping the apocalypse was his biggest priority, and now, he just doesn't care. He doesn't care if we ever go back. He doesn’t get that I have nothing here. This isn’t home. I want the chance to go home. Even if I never get my powers back, I just want to go home." She feels like she might cry again. Not thinking she reaches out for Diego. And without hesitation he goes to her. He kneels in front of her, one hand in hers, the other on her knee. It reminds her of when she sat in the infirmary while giving blood to Allison and wanted nothing more than to touch him. So, she does. She ghosts her fingers along the scar on his brow. He closes his eyes as she does. Just trying to believe this isn't some dream, and he'll wake up still in that damn padded room. He catches her wrist and kisses her palm.

"I'll do everything I can to get us back home. So, you can go back to that shitty boss of yours that doesn't respect your time. I'll give your stupid neighbors something they can’t ignore, and we can figure the rest out from there, how does that sound?"

"Eso suena como el cielo, cariño," she smiles and leans her forehead against his. "Absolutamente perfecto."

"Tu eres perfecta, mi luz." He pulls her forward and kisses her. She kisses back but pulls back far too soon in Diego's opinion.

"What about Lila?" she asks in a harsh whisper.

"Lila know I've been fighting to get back to you, she's-"

"Just a bit of fun, love," Lila says from where she watches the two of them with a grin. "Although, it still could be fun." She winks at the pair and disappears down the hall. Diego hadn't exactly expected that, but Lila was anything but predictable. And he found it adorable the way his luz blushed all the way to the tips of her ears at the suggestive comment.

"I mean, the outfit does give off a certain vibe, Luz," he grins. She blushes again and buries her face in his neck. He can't help but laugh.

"I missed you," she sighs against him.

"I missed you too, Luz. More than you could ever know."

She spent the night wearing Diego's shirt and in his arms. And after promising they would all behave and that it was only practical since there was only one room, Lila on her other side. She fell asleep safe, happy, and warm for the first time since she lost her powers.

Rough Translations:

i honestly think season 4 could have been fixed if they had the usual 10 episode run instead of 6 episodes, because then they could have gone into more depth about a lot of the missing details (spoilers below the cut)

like why ray left allison (i can see it happening if he knew what she did to bring him and claire back, except they never talk about it),

or devoting more time to building ben and jennifer's relationship (i thought they were cute, but everything went by pretty quickly so it felt a bit rushed),

or the fallout between five and diego after he cheated on his wife (which was a bold choice to go with in the first place, but putting it off to the second-to-last episode then having them die with unresolved feelings in the finale was worse),

or what happened to the other 35 superpowered kids (WHERE WAS SLOANE?),

or explaining viktor's struggle with keeping a girlfriend, or klaus's trouble with gangs, or when luther decided to give up on looking for sloane, or the fact lila's family is still alive in this timeline... or any of the other stuff they hinted at but didnt delve into, because it felt like there were sooo many loose plot threads they could have gone after but didnt

hell, i would have settled for adding more fight scenes or another dance scene (seriously, why have i not seen anyone complaining about the lack of dance scenes this season?)

everything felt way too packed this season, which was a shame because there were a lot of good scenes too. like the road trip episode? or the infinite fives cafe? or how GREAT the villains were this season? there were so many fun things i enjoyed, and i just wish the writers had more time to perfect everything and make the finale feel more satisfying instead of leaving it filled with holes like a swiss cheese. like i wouldnt even be mad if i didnt know that this was the last season and those details will stay missing forever (well, ok, the part where five cheats on diego's wife was unnecessary but still)

Diego agere headcanons

Regresses young and is almost never older than 4 

Probably one of the most frequent regressors out of his siblings 

He has been regressing since Ben died and has gotten a pretty solid handle on it during the years he lived alone. It's usually pretty easy for him to either put himself in or keep himself out of his headspace 

He loves the feeling of being little and he knows for sure that it’s something that has really helped him over the years 

Little Diego gets a bit clumsy in his movements but he is usually able to do most of the things big diego can even if he doesn't do them quite as neatly 

His stutter usually comes back big time when he regresses and he prefers to babble or hum rather than talk 

Little Diego is an absolute angel. He is inquisitive and always eager to help out 

He does nap however he needs someone else to be in charge of making him go to sleep. If he’s regressed on his own he won’t realize he's tired and then wont take a nap until he gets super cranky and frustrated and has no choice but to give in to exhaustion 

He loves physical touch when regressed and could happily spend his entire day curled up in someone's arms 

He really likes the baby toys where you put the different shapes into their correct holes. He also loves stories and has a big collection of children's books. He gets excited about superhero cartoons as well and likes to mimic the fighting poses of the hero’s on the screen 

Big puffed rice lover. He also really enjoys convenience store foods like pop tarts and twinkies. Thinks he never got to try when he was growing up 

He owns a lot of bottles, sippy cups, and those no spill snack cups 

He does have some toys. Some of them were gifts from Eudora that she got him while she was his caregiver and one of two are things that he bought himself. He has one or two lego sets and a couple hotwheels. He also has a lot of baby toys that make fun sounds or light up and an army of stuffed animals

When he said goodbye to Grace and left home she gave him a package with all of his baby things that she had managed to save and keep from reginald including the blue baby blanket he was swaddled in when he was brought to the academy. They are all very dear to him. Additionally, after Eudora's death the things that she had gifted him became precious. He was devastated when their time travel took him away from them for so long 

He has to be dressed in loose soft clothing while little or he will whine and cry. If he doesn't manage to change before slipping fully into headspace then Diego will perform the toddler act of aggressively pulling off all of his clothing while acting like they are strangling him. Little diego also has so much beef with shoes for literally no reason 

He has several pacis that he rotates through. He really can’t sleep without one in while regressed 

He wears diapers or pull ups the majority of the time while little 

He suspects that Grace knew about his regression when he first started doing it. 

He tells Klaus (and by extension Ben) about his regression first and five finds out pretty soon after. Allison also figures it out pretty quickly. He tells Luther about his regression after finding out that Luther also regresses. He tells Viktor after he comes out in an attempt to try and start to rebuild trust between the two of them and as something of a peace offering. Lila clocks him as a regressor right away due to the fact that she also regresses but he didn't find out till much later. 

Diego has always needed and wanted a caregiver. For a long time that was Eudora until their relationship fell apart. After that he and Lila made a deal to watch over one another while they were little. Eventually he started to allow his siblings to watch over him as well even eventually letting sparrow Ben watch him 

He called Eudora mommy. After her death he couldn’t bring himself to use that title for anyone else. Lila is occasionally mama and he will usually use a butchered version of his siblings names when talking to them

overall: what is going on??? again, i have many questions. I also feel like some of the time in the episode was wasted on things like puking and weird jokes, so there wasn't a lot of plot. The time they spent at the carnival dragged on for a bit. I am still very intrigued, though--and worried, because two episodes have passed and not a lot has happened.

So, Five x Lila. I need to get this out of my system so I can maybe finally move on:

I don't like the ship.

I don't like the characters together. I find the pairing a baffling one, and I don't like what it does to the show (and characters) either.

First of all, that wasn't Lila. I don't know who it was, but it wasn't the woman we saw off at the end of S3, or even the one we started off S4 with.

It just wasn't her.

You can blame trauma, or six years of being on the move. That's going to change a person, for sure, but this wasn't about giving Lila any character development.

It was about giving Five a love interest.

Because that life? Yeah. I could see it for Five. I could see him deciding to settle down and take life slow, I could see him being sweet and domestic with a partner should he have one. After he's had some time to heal, now that he's finally free of the apocalypse, I could see that for Five.

But Lila? She was unhappy in her marriage, at least partly because the domestic, stay-at-home-mum life has proven to be something that doesn't fulfil her. She wants more out of life, which is why "bookclub" happened, which is why she ended up in the subway with Five in the first place.

And okay. For the sake of argument, let's go with this. Let's say Five x Lila happened so they could cope with their situation. It was survival, like Lila said. If we were going to have to endure this bad, messy plot point anyway, (which we didn't, we really, really didn't), it should at least have been treated with the seriousness it deserves.

Because, Five? The complete, callous lack of remorse on his part? What the fuck was that?

Even if you pick through the crumbs and try to make it make sense, this wasn't a romance. At best it was survival, and coping, and kind of a tragedy all at once. Five shouldn't be picking fights with Diego. He shouldn't be acting like a spurned twenty-something-year-old.

And yeah, characters can be flawed and in the wrong, but why like this? This didn't feel like Five to me. He is brusque and, when looked at it from a certain angle, I can see why some would call him selfish (which I don't necessarily agree with, but that's a different conversation), but under all his layers, he does love his family. To me, that's the core of his character and has been since S1. Everything he's done, he's done to ensure their survival, then when he agreed to give up in S3, he was content to simply die by their sides.

So, you're telling that this Five, the one we've known and followed for three seasons, had a fling with Lila and didn't even feel guilty or conflicted about it? You're telling me loved this woman, yet was willing to keep her from her family, her children?

"Five is selfish" "Five is tired" "Five is finally moving on"

No. Not like that. To me, the Five from previous seasons (S2 specifically, because that's where a lot of it goes wrong) is only "selfish" in that he wants his family to survive and is willing to go to any lengths to achieve that. He's not exactly compassionate about Allison and Viktor having to leave Ray and Sissy behind. And yeah, he leaves Diego in the asylum because he doesn't want him messing with the timeline.

Is he in the wrong for that? Answer this any way you want, but I don't think it matters to Five. Does he want his siblings to be happy? In my opinion, of course he does, but they're not going to be happy if they're dead.

That's not the same as what S4 does. Not by a long shot. Five cares deeply about those he loves, and granted, he is pretty bad at showing it, but he does care.

He nearly worked himself into the grave trying to solve the first two apocalypses, with little regard for his own well-being. When he realised a third apocalypse was happening, he didn't say fuck it and continue his Pennsylvania retirement road trip... he immediately dropped everything to try and fix it.

So how did we get to S4 Five, who got with his brother's wife, found a way home, didn't tell Lila, AND THEN, after he finally gave her the notebook and they went back, he acts like that?

Yeah, no. That's not my Five.

Also, five x lila happening isn't Five moving on. If anything, it's how he copes with the situation they're in. That's just his Delores 2.0.

Anyway, all of this is moot because the fact of the matter is, they chose to make this happen. Five and Lila getting stuck in the subway together for seven years didn't have to happen.

I don't know.

This used to be a show about family. It also used to be a show about the effects of child abuse on this group of siblings. This started to fall to the wayside after S1, but the family aspect of it still remained.

At its core, tua has always been about family, so what was the point of making S4 at all if this is what they were going to give us?

It's not just Five x Lila. They messed this up across the board, with how flippantly the absence of Sloane and Ray was treated, how shallow and surface-level all of the rest was. They gave us some crumbs with Klaus and Allison, but they couldn't even do that without retconning their entire relationship. That's not even mentioning the ending. The Hargreeves all sacrificing themselves in the end could have worked, but this was not the way to do it.

Anyway, this rant is over. S1 Five, you'll always be famous to me.

After I rewatched Umbrella Academy I came to not hate the second season anymore.

I still think its the worst of them, but it’s funny if I ignore that boooooringgg fight with Diego and Reggie and whatever was going on with Luther. I pretty much like Klaus and Ben’s arc, but I think it could’ve been better too. Allison 10/10 I love seeing her with Ray. I think Five was also in the exact same mindset from the first season, but his murder scene against the headboard & the whole paradox psychosis shit was amazing, so I forgive him.

The first and the third are basically a tie for me, but since s3 had that gorgeous footlose scene & it sewed the previous seasons perfectly I have to say the third is the best.

I love the first one. I love Hazel and Agnes falling in love, I love how creepy the Handler is this season, I love Ben guilty-tripping Klaus through a withdrawel crises mid-torture. Instambul? Perfect. Best fighting scene in the show. (only matched, in my opinion, to Five vs naked Lila in s3) There’s Diego’s lovely relationship with his mom. There’s that psycho of Leonard Peabody trying to control Viktor. THERE’S VIKTOR CUTTING ALLISON’S THROAT.

But then the third season we have Allison losing her shit, wrecked and broken. We had Viktor being more secure on himself. We have Luther finally being kind of happy. We have Klaus dying 17 times in one episode. Ben is a total bitch. Five finally changes clothes. I personally desliked how Diego treated Stan through most of the season, he pretty much started acting like a dad when the kid killed Klaus. but what makes this one season the best is Reginald.

We’ve never seen so much of him. We never understood him so well. We find out that Reggie can be a decent father if he wants to, but mostly we learn that he had been trying to make things go that way from beggining. We understand that he manipulated Five into blinking in time. And that he let Allison get too used to having all she wanted. He made sure Klaus would still be in contact with his powers by having one kid die, traumatized him to the point he became an addict so he had the knowledge to take him from his pills.

Just as much as having Ben killed in the first timeline separated his kids, having him alive made them be together to go into Oblivion.

If I were to give marks on each season, I’d give an A+ to season 3, an A to season 1 and a B- to season 2. (but understand I’d give it a C- if not for season 3 saving it from the abyss)

Here we go, one last time, episode six:

First thing's first, the Baby Shark running gag never gets old and I love it so much. It's peak Umbrella Academy and I wish we had more whimsical moments like that.

Anyway, I love the Luther moments here. I know his braincells pretty much canned ever since like Season 2-3, but I'll focus more on his love for his family. He's truly the best boy this season, even if it's to the detriment of his many other character traits. His continual care for Viktor, how he checks on him when he gets hurt by Ben, his love for his family is unparalleled. He's truly the big brother character he tried to embody in the first season, but comes to fruition in season four.

Could he have been better characterized and should have been given a chance to love his body as is? Should he have been given a better backstory other than professional dancer who still clings tightly to his past??? It's so weird that Klaus of all people gets support from a fellow sibling and Luther... doesn't. Maybe Five could have helped him out because I'm pretty sure he would get paid a lot since he's like part of the CIA, but nada.

And given how Viktor and Luther are like... the closest they've ever been in the show, I also think that Viktor would have visited a couple times and maybe given Luther shelter or something.

But like??? I don't think he should have been an exotic dancer. I feel like he would have done well as like as a tradesman? Or worked at NASA? I don't know, bring the Space Boy moniker back, but this time well earned. He managed to live on the moon, keeping it running, for four years. He knows a thing or two about space and I'm sad that we never got to see his intellect in full play.

Diego... you were done so dirty. Remember how in my last post that Lila and Diego's journey into understanding each other and what they want in life could have been mirrored? Imagine Diego and Lila tearfully reuniting, both of them vowing to make their marriage better, brighter, and more communicative to each other.

Instead, we had to live through the fight that Diego with Five, Lila being part of this stupid love triangle that should not have existed in the first place, etc.

The one thing that I absolutely love, though, is the fact that Diego hyped up Luther. That's all I ever wanted from those two. They had each other's backs and they were doing so well!

Side note: love how every family member (except Ben and Viktor) had come to the Christmas dinner. That was so wholesome (albeit sad because of the upcoming apocalypse and the whole Five/Lila/Diego thing). It was so nice and heartwarming. My one complaint is that everyone should have been there. (I'll talk more about Ben and Viktor soon).

Allison... I don't have any notes for her??? I love the little hug Lila gave her and how confused she was. I'm glad that she brought Klaus to the dinner party, her reaction to the whole Diego/Five fight was funny, hahaha! I'm glad that she tried to use her powers on Ben/Jennifer... But you would think that her powers would have done something, right? Like isn't her powers kind of powerful enough to alter reality??? I get she didn't want to hurt Ben, but still...

Allison and Viktor seemingly kind of made up here was also rather nice. Granted, they kind of addressed this back in episode 2, I believe, and Allison had gotten hurt and things were dire, but still. These two always had a contentious relationship (some of which I don't think has ever gotten addressed--Viktor cut Allison's throat, remember?), but even if it's not done well, at the very least they were on good terms.

Klaus is Klaus. I'm happy that he was saved and I'm happy that he retained his wit and good humor to the very end. I'm also happy that he has his levitating powers, but I wish he could have explored himself more before the very end! Ummmm...??? That's it??? Like Allison, he didn't stand out to me this episode??? They kind of blended in with Luther as the siblings who don't have as much drama as the others.

Five... OKAY, I'M FINE WITH HIM CHEATING WITH LILA (NOT REALLY, BUT I'M TRYING TO GIVE HIM GRACE BECAUSE HE'S TIRED AND IT'S BEEN SEVEN YEARS OF THE SAME THING AND THE BOTH OF THEM WERE SO LONELY), BUT I DRAW THE LINE AT LEAVING HIS FAMILY BEHIND AND CONTEMPLATING JUST LEAVING THEM THERE. I'M GLAD THAT HE WAS ABLE TO FIGURE OUT WHAT TO DO AND GO ABCK, BUT HE SHOULD'T HAVE LEFT LIKE THAT. HE SHOULD HAVE AT LEAST TOLD SOMEONE.

Anyway, besides the Baby Shark scenes, the Fives at the Deli were also peak Umbrella Academy. I loved it. The aesthetic, how each Five have their own little nickname. It was amazing! I just wish we could have seen different Fives??? Like Five when he was in his fifties??? Five at other ages??? Because he's from different timelines??? I don't know, I don't think each Five would have been exactly the same, but what do I know about time travel nonsense?

(That said, I wonder why he wasn't suffering from gas, but what if his new powers allowed him to overcome that????)

I wish Five wasn't so quick to combat Diego??? I wish he wouldn't have brought up the cheating like taht???? I wish Diego and Five didn't die hating each other. I hate that Five was so angry at Diego that he chose to ignore Ben/Jennifer and decided to fight Diego. The Five I knew would not have jeopardized the mission that badly.

Ben... He's a hideous monster, what can I say? The duality of him pushing Viktor and the others away and admitting to Vanya that he was scared... He sounded so vulnerable! It honestly reminded me of Umbrella! Ben! So much so, I had to wonder if Ben had somehow integrated with other versions of Ben???

At the same time, I wonder why Jennifer was also adamant that Viktor and the others back off? Again, I don't really understand Ben/Jennifer's dyamic??? She seemed so practical the first few times we met her, but now she's completely taken over. It's so weird, but again, there's the theory that Ben/Jennifer is an allegory for toxic relationships, so I guess it makes sense???

The scene where Ben pushes Viktor so he doesn't get shot was amazing and heartwarming. It reminds me of my old Benya feels, omg.

I just wish Ben could have reconciled with some of his family, but the closest he got to that was with Viktor, but he wasn't exactly in his right state of mind.

Viktor is interesting and here's why. Throughout the show, he's always shown that he always wanted to be part of the team and that he favors talking over physical combat. That said, I think it's very telling that he didn't go to the Christmas party and was hanging out with Reginald.

It's like this season finale was an inverted mirror of Viktor's past. What I mean to say is that while Viktor was not included in the team, he is not included (although, unintentionally) in the family gathering. In season one, I feel like he would have chosen family. Here, it seems like he's consciously choosing to be a hero, to be someone extraoardinary.

And I think that's why he chose to relocate to Canada while everyone else stayed pretty relatively close. Viktor is choosing to other himself by staying in other country/via distance and this time, he's othering himself by diving headfirst into dangerous situations. I'm not sure if I"m wording this right, but it's an interesting dichotomy. I have no idea if that's intentional, but if it is... Props???

I adore how much Viktor wanted to get through to Ben and that he worked so hard to end up inside of the little mall thing. The whole talk between them, the try to connect with Ben/Jennifer... I wish we could have seen more mediator Viktor, especially as a kid too. I feel given how he has powers of sounds/vibrations, I feel like his voice could have something powerful. Maybe it might have worked like Allison's power??? But I'm speculating now.

Lila... I'm glad that she didn't continue lying to Diego and owned up to it. I don't have much to say considering most of what can be said is done through Five and Diego. That said, I love her devotion to her family and the heel face turn when she made her family go inside the train... that was heartwrenching.

Reginald and Abigail.... I don't understand why Abigail did things she did. Like, I get it on a purely physical level, but if she wanted to end the world on purpose, why go through all this pomp and circumstance??? Six years passed and now she acts??? I get that Ben was in prison for like five years, but??? Couldn't have Abigail broken him out of jail, taken him to Jennifer in New Grumpson, and then end of world???? If she worried about Ben being hostile because she's married to Reginald, she could have been an anonymous benefactor or worn a skin suit.

WHY THE SIX YEAR TIME SKIP????

I will say, there are a few things to highlight.... I like how there are two scenes that I think mirror the very end scene of Season One Episode Ten.

The scene where Five jumps with everyone to get inside the mall and the scene where everyone is in a circle and gets ready to die. It reminds me of when everyone was a united front and everyone wanted to escape the apocalypse with Viktor. There were even seven of them at the end (I'm crying because Ben isn't included... it's interesting that Ben and Viktor are the ones who are being othered... it's interesting.... and coupled with the fact that Five is not at his best either... 5/6/7... my OT3 is now canon in the worst way possible lol...

I don't know. It was nice.

Anyway, the aesthetic of all the timeline train lines being obliterated only to reveal one singular, straight timeline was brilliant and beautiful to watch.

The ending was surreal... are you sure it's not the afterlife???

I'll admit... I cheered when I saw Hazel and the lady from Griddy's hanging out, that was great! And the three Swedes playing frisbee! All of it was too good! And the song choice was a nice hit of nostalgia!

(Although... why that song??? Originally, it was to showcase that after the siblings' father died, they were alone now and can do things that they can't. However, it was also to showcase that they all thought that they were alone and could enjoy the music, unknowing that others were enjoying the same thing, but separate. It was also key in characterization. What purpose does this song serve in the season finale??? Is is to showcase that this is the only timeline now??? I mean... it could work???)

Anyway.... this finale wasn't the best... but it wasn't the greatest either. The ending remarks from everyone was well done and I couldn't have asked for anything more. Could there have been a better way to end all of this nonsense, probably, but this is waht we got.

I might post one last umbrella thing tomorrow, but I might not. I think all my thoughts are well explained here, but time will only tell.

Not gonna lie, I just watched the first episode the new TUA season. It doesn't seem bad. Yet.

I thought it was pretty fun and entertaining, if a bit mean spirited and took the characters in vastly different directions than I thought.

(They gotta stop dunking on Diego and Luther. They're himbos, but that doesn't mean you get to insult Diego's appearance and make Luther the butt of every single joke).

That said, knowing what I know about how the season will develop... I did get a sinking feeling when I saw Lila and Five having fun after the Keepers meeting and saw that Diego was watching. That little sideplot could have easily been played off for laughs and would have served as more fodder for siblings who like to tease each other... but I know what's going to happen, but I'm prepared for it.

Really, what stood out to me was that Five and Viktor sat together when they were at the Hibachi grill. I don't care anything else in this episode (though I am glad that Klaus is sober and seeks control in his life and Ben is... Ben is being very conniving and I wonder why he didn't take all the marigold for himself). Anywhoozles my 2019 Fiveya heart is smiling with joy, especially considering how close Five and Viktor once were.

(It's a long shot, but I hope there's a few more Fiktor moments here and there).

Ending for this season is literally the most depressing one. Season one ending was fine, a HUGE cliffhanger imo but still hopeful after our superheros literally killed everyone. Season two ending: Wild, confusing but also funky and fun. Season three? No tattoos, no amputations, no powers?? Immediately being done with each other and separating ????

Like wtf is Five’s 13~16 looking ass gonna do if he’s gonna go alone with no powers? I mean sure he can still fight but he can’t blink himself out of disasters now so he’ll trip. Klaus’ chances of survival have dropped to like maybe 5% since there’s no immortality or Ben logic to cushion him from whatever shit he gets into. Allison’s trapped inside this weird Reggie-sponsored fantasy reality with Ray and Claire (i think, idk what exactly happened tbh), Luther’s probably still searching for Sloane who may or may not exist. I don’t even know for Viktor. Diego and Lila will probably do pretty well tbh and Ben seems to be doing pretty decent and in Korea for some reason, but at what cost

Assigning OFMD characters powers from TUA

I’m not assigning them characters because of all the... fucking each other... just the powers and kind of the arcs that go with them

Stede → Viktor’s Powers: I think it’d be really cool for Stede to figure out he has powers the way Viktor did in s1. Like he starts out this powerless dweeb and then when he’s getting hung they’re unleashed for the first time. I also think Stede would be just as unhinged as Viktor about them.

Ed → Allison’s Powers: why not Ben’s? Well, Ed is bored. He always wins. There’s no chaos, no drama, no fucking life! It maps onto s1 Allison pretty well. Now he’s trying to be a pirate without relying on them.

Jim → Five’s Powers: Jim is naturally good with knives, so they don’t need Diego’s powers, what they do need, however, is the ability to leave any situation quickly. They’re also the only one I would remotely trust with time travel.

Buttons → Fei’s Powers: self explanatory

Frenchie → Lila’s Powers: Frenchie is great at blending in wherever he goes, and power copying just makes sense for him.

Izzy → Klaus’s Powers: this dramatic little bitch would love to be able to summon the dead and fight with them. He’s just got a horde of dead pirates hanging around him, ready to fight in a raid. Immortal Izzy sounds awful though, but that’s a sacrifice I’m willing to make.

Wee John → Luther/Marcus’s Powers: self explanatory again. He’s the big guy.

Oluwande → Ben’s Powers: I think Olu would be really chill about it, unlike U!Ben or S!Ben. Ed would probably freak the fuck out when he saw Olu unleash the Horror for the first time, but Olu’s such a nice guy Ed can’t be scared of him for long.

Lucius → Sloane’s Powers: gravity sex

Black Pete→ Alphonso’s Powers: I have no reason for this other than I think Alphonso and Pete would get along.

Calico Jack → Jayme’s Powers: Jack would love this so much I probably shouldn’t give it to him. He would’ve totally used it on Stede during 1x08 and made him cry.

Roach → Diego’s Powers: One can always use more hands/trajectory manipulation in the kitchen/hospital.

Chapter 4: East, West, Home's Best

"Okay, gather around people," Five called as soon as we entered the hotel lobby. Most of our siblings were there, with the exception of one. "Where's Luther?"

"Haven't seen him," Diego shook his head.

"Vicky, any info on Luther?" 

"Uh... ew, he's thinking about sex," I nearly gagged. "That's zoophilia, gross!"

"I don't think you can judge other people's sexual preferences, brother fucker," Diego teased.

"Ha ha, as if you didn't have a child with your sister... And you? What were you doing fighting Alphonso earlier hah? With Stanley there, you have to be the most irresponsible dad I've ever seen! Except for ours."

"Were you spying on me? This power of yours is pretty cool, but stay out of my head, pendeja!"

"Pendeja? Seu filho da puta, vê se toma jeito! (You son of a bitch, get a grip!)" I said before realizing. 

"You two stop the bickering! Look at this, these are our mothers and they're all dead," Five flipped page by page showing everyone each of our moms. "They all died on the day that used to be our birthday, but not anymore because they never gave birth to us."

"That's dumb, if we weren't born, how can we exist?" Diego asked. "Shouldn't we start fading away like in Back to The Future?"

"Exactly! When we jumped here we created the grandfather paradox."

"And what's that?" Viktor asked.

"It's an old story, mom told me about it once. It was a boy who hated his grandpa so he time-traveled to the past to kill him. Only he killed his grandfather before his own mom could be born which leads to him never existing, so how could he ever kill his grandpa? Time collapses and everything goes to shit," I looked at Five for confirmation. "That's it, isn't it?"

"Yeah, that's it, doesn't sound very good, does it?" he huffed. 

"I'm so confused," Diego shook his head in disbelief.

"Shocking..." Allison sneered. She had been a royal pain in the ass ever since we arrived, I get how hard it is for her, but she wasn't the only one who lost people. Viktor had to give up Sissy, Diego lost Lila (at least he thought he did), and I had to see my friend Elliot murdered by those Swede bastards. Life is hard for everyone, not just for her.

"We shouldn't exist because our moms never had us, but we do, and the universe can't handle it, which is a problem," Viktor explained.

"Stanley, stop it! Now is not the time for karate!" Diego chastised my nephew who was very focused on his training.

"Mom said I need to practice," he countered.

"She's not wrong, you're pretty bad."

"And you're pretty bad at being a dad, quit it!" I snapped my fingers in front of his face. "You're talking like Reggie, only with a less posh vocabulary."

"So, we created a paradox, what does that mean?" Allison asked.

"I don't know exactly, but something very bad is coming, things are starting to disappear. Lobsters..." Five shrugged.

"A shit ton of cows," Klaus added. "It was so bad, Vicky's going back to being a vegetarian."

"Aren't you supposed to be retired?" Alli asked. "You know you can't keep dragging us through hell because you have an itch only an apocalypse can scratch."

"You really think Five wants this?" I finally snapped. "You think any of us wants this? I wanted to be buying wedding decorations and tasting cakes, instead I'm here on this timeline where I don't even exist trying to fix the world for the rest of you. I'm so sorry you are having a tough time, but you are not the only one, Wanda Maximoff! This is the only place we have, if we jump again that'll only mess the timeline even more, so you better accept that this is all we have!"

"Since when did you become Five's cheerleader? I thought you were only a shield to your little boyfriend. You think life is hard? Cause you can't buy your wedding dress? Well, I lost my daughter!"

"My headache won't fix your broken arm. We're both hurting and we both have our priorities, doesn't mean one thing is more important than the other or that you are hurting more than me. It's just different."

"Cut your bullshit, Victoria, you and your stupid philosophical sayings, it was childish when we were kids, imagine now."

Fortunately, the fight didn't escalate because Stan broke a vase with the pool club he was using to practice and silence reigned over the room. "It was the wind," he tried to shift the blame.

"That's it! I'm telling your mom! Where is she?" Diego punched the table angrily.

"Oooo I'm so scared," the boy mocked. "She's in the shower, I said she could stay with us."

"Lila is here? As if things couldn't get any worse," I cried, falling into Klaus' lap. "I can't take today anymore, I hate today. Can we just take a shower and go back to our room? I need a relaxing massage and some special attention."

"Behold, she's thinking of sex... Because that's the remedy for everything," Allison taunted.

"Just because you're not having any, don't rain on my parade. I escaped a mob of angry Amish bastards, I was nearly catapulted out of a car because of a ball of twine, I saw a rabbit being skinned. Leave me the fuck alone!"

"Don't listen to her, Vicky, she's in one of her moods," Klaus stroked my hair. "We can definitely do that after the meeting is- Five! Five don't leave!"

"I'm leaving," the little man announced as he rounded the corner to look for Lila.

"Hey, none of you heartless bastards care about our murdered moms?" Klausie asked. "Look at mine, I have her eyes, her name's Rachel. Look at my mother-in-law, cute little freckles like Vicky's, and the same mischievous look on her face. We need to find out who did this! This is the main thing!"

"What? It was obviously dad," I said, thinking he would've figured that out by now. "You heard him, he hated us in 63 so much he decided to unadopt us, but just to make sure we wouldn't be born he killed our moms and eliminated the scum before it could come out."

"You really think dad is capable of killing innocent people?" 

"Uh yeah! Dad kept me under a thousand pounds of metal every single day for fun, what would stop him from killing some women he didn't even know?" 

"I guess you're right."

"Look who decided to show, little late for the meeting, pal," Diego teased as Luther walked in, carrying a tote bag full of Sparrow merch and even wearing a Sparrow jacket. I was completely unimpressed, I knew he was a traitor from the moment we first learned how to talk and he decided to rattle me out for stealing a cookie.

"I was being held captive by the Sparrows. None of you noticed?" he asked, slightly offended.

"Oh yeah, we missed you so dearly," I nodded. "I was worried sick... Are you hurt?"

"No, they're excellent hosts! Quite charming, and you should see their gym, their house is amazing! I really think we've got these guys all wrong."

"Says the guy they kidnapped," Allison cocked an eyebrow.

"I was obligated to enter your dirty mind and see the filth going through your head, please never do that again, it was disgusting," I took the beer bottle from Klaus to take a sip. "Why were you even thinking those things while being held hostage?"

"What do they want?" Diego cut me off.

"They want Marcus, unharmed," Luther passed on their message.

"Well, we don't have Marcus," Viktor said.

"Oh, that sucks, I thought we could solve that one quickly and go on to problem number two... The disappearing people."

"Disappearing people?" I scoffed. "That's it, let's go, Klaus. I need a shower and all the rest."

"Oh? You still want all the rest even if I'm an Amish from Pennsylvania?" he giggled, following me to the elevator.

"You speak German, right?" I pressed the button to our floor and turned to him as the door closed.

"ohne Zweifel, (no doubt,)" he smirked.

"Then yeah, I do."

"Ich möchte Dich betteln hören," he pinned me against the wall, his lips inches away from mine and I already felt the palms of my hands tingling.

"You wanna hear me beg? I can beg once you're naked..."

So the world was ending again. People were disappearing now, we had to run and get things done before we all die. We wouldn't be able to dodge death when it keeps following us everywhere forever, it was like that movie Final Destination. We could try all we wanted to avoid our end, but it would always arrive and find us wherever we went.

"Heeey, Schnecke... Can we go somewhere today? Just us?" he rolled over to hold me after hours of me staring at the ceiling waiting for the sun to come up.

"Klaus! Not again, don't come at me with this shit!" I cried. "Do you even want to get married anymore?"

"Of course I do, what do you mean?"

"There's another apocalypse coming, we don't know how to stop this one because it doesn't seem like Viktor is the cause anymore. We can die or disappear at any given second and instead of worrying about the wedding, you're asking me once again to follow you into one of your stupid adventures! What am I supposed to think?"

"You're right, you're right... Can we maybe compromise?"

"What's the compromise?"

"You come with me to visit dad and ask him about our moms, then on the way back we can buy our outfits and I'll talk to Chet about the venue," Klaus suggested.

"Okay fine, but how do you expect to get passed security again and get into the house without being trampled on by those assholes?" I asked.

"Remember how we used to sneak out through the window?" 

"Yeah, but we can't do that, people will see us."

"There's another way inside..."

"NO! Klaus! No! I'm not doing that again, no way!"

I knew what he wanted. One time when dad shut the windows closed right after my accident falling from the second floor, we had to find another way to get out so we could get our doughnut fix. So Klaus had the brilliant idea to crawl through the sewers like we were in some Stephen King novel. 

It was one of the worst experiences of my life, and that's saying a lot! I can still remember the smell and it makes my stomach churn. I couldn't believe he wanted me to do it again, and all because we wanted to... Talk to dad? It was insane.

"Pretty please?" he pouted, batting those eyes at me. "It would mean so much to know what happened to my mother. I don't wanna do this alone, Vickynha! Please? It's not like you can get hurt or catch anything."

"Fiiiiine! But we're getting the outfits on the way back, so we better manage to take a shower at the mansion, I'm not trying on wedding dresses covered in sewage!"

"I promise, I'll take another beating just so you can take a shower. Thank you so much!"

Klaus managed to find us some diving suits, swimming caps, snorkel shit... And of course, two trenchcoats so we wouldn't go out in the street looking like a pair of lunatics. It didn't really help, but at least all eyes were not on my future husband's bulge.

As soon as he opened that lid I wanted to run back to the hotel. The smell was almost unbearable, but Klaus didn't seem bothered. He, in fact, seemed nostalgic, last time we did that we were 13 and imagined life would be different, happy, so maybe that's why the smell was comforting to him.

"That takes me back..." he said, dropping his trenchcoat and making his way down. 

"If we find a killer clown in there, I'm letting it eat you," I huffed, following him inside. "Ugh, the things you make me do."

"Oh stop it, you love me," he smirked.

I made a vow to myself to be totally honest and open when telling this story, but I really don't think I have the stomach to relive what happened in the sewers. I can tell you all I was never the same after that, the things I've seen in there will haunt me forever. I regret taking Klaus' deal several times while we swam through that shit (literally) to arrive at dad's office. 

"See? Not that bad," he said as he helped out of the pipe. 

"Oh yeah, I definitely don't wanna throw up and cry right now..." I rolled my eyes, taking off my suit to reveal the bikini underneath.

"Wow, that's what you chose to wear?" Klaus stared at me and his thoughts were so loud I could listen to them without even trying. 

"It made sense to me, a swimming suit under the diving suit. Stop thinking that, we're covered in shit!" I scolded.

"Sorry, but your ass looks really good right now, I'm only human!" he cried, getting out of his suit, he was wearing yet another skin-tight suit, but this one had his chest completely exposed and in between the two layers, he had a blue speedo on. 

"You look like Borat and Lady Gaga had a child," I tried not to laugh.

"Have at you!" Dad finally noticed us and grabbed a wooden back scratcher in the form of a little hand to use as a sword against us. I yelped, but as soon as I noticed what he was holding I heaved a sigh of relief.

"Did you do it?" Klaus asked, grabbing one of the little statues from the mantelpiece to counterattack. 

"What are you talking about? How did you get in here?" 

"Don't ask questions you don't want the answer to, dad..." I muttered.

"Did you kill our moms?" Klausie asked again. "Please just tell me if you killed them and we'll leave."

"After a shower," I added.

"After a shower," he nodded. "Please just tell us."

"I don't care enough about you to lie, do I look fit to murder anyone?" dad lowered his guard. 

"Not now, but I remember you, you were scary and horrible and a sadist! You'd love to make sure none of us are born!" I took the statue from my fiancé and put it back in place. 

"I remember you two better now. You're the drunk one and you're the childish one."

"No, I'm Klaus, the spiritual one," he argued. "And this is Victoria, the... Hot one."

"That's all I am to you? The hot one?" I turned to him, baffled.

"Victoria, the... Motherly one, the one who bakes, the interesting one, the caring one, the beautiful one?"

Before I could respond, we heard a knock on the door and ran to hide. We couldn't see who was there but we heard Jayme and Alphonso coming in with food and pills for dad. They insisted he took them and then forced him to sign some papers he didn't know anything about. I tried to read his mind and get any clues, but it was very confusing.

"His brain is a haze, he's totally doped," I whispered. 

"Who? Dad?" Klaus gasped quietly and I nodded.

The way they treated him made me almost sad for a second, I felt bad for him and that was a first! They threatened him and made mean comments, even after everything our father put us through, I couldn't help worrying. 

"Oh my God, dad... What happened to you?" Klaus asked when the others left and we finally came out of hiding. 

"How did we not have that idea?" I thought out loud. "They treat you like some sort of senile old man. You used to be an asshole, but you're the most respectable asshole I've ever met. Reginald Hargreeves, The Monocle, stuck in a room being drugged by his kids?"

"I sometimes wonder what happened to me as well," Reginald stared vacantly at the tv. "You kids better take a shower, you may use mine, but please leave it the same way you found it, in order."

"Thanks, dad," I dragged Klaus, who had many other questions but the smell was really starting to bother me and I couldn't handle it anymore.

That wasn't the man who raised us, that was very much clear. And though most of the changes in the timeline were concerning and disturbing, I found that one very comforting. Maybe there was a chance this father could like us. Maybe not like us, but at least not hate us.

When we came out of the shower, without saying a word to each other, we found two robes waiting, a gesture that was so small and yet nearly brought me to tears. We both got dressed and helped dry each other's hair like we did as kids. 

"That is much better, is it not?" Dad looked us up and down when we came out of the bathroom. "Now why would you think I murdered your mothers?"

"You hated us so much that you unadopted us, is it so crazy to think you wouldn't want us to even exist?" I sat by him on the couch.

"If we tell you we saved the world with the power of love will you believe us?" Klaus joined, wrapping one arm around me. 

"I find it hard to comprehend how love would stop an impending apocalypse, but anything is possible these days..." Reggie pointed at the TV where a news anchor was reporting on the rapidly growing number of missing people around the world, but before it was over, he changed channels to watch The Hunchback of Notre Dame instead.

"Oh, I love this movie," Klaus chuckled. "Vicky here likes the Disney version more, don't you, Schatz?"

"I am not the least bit surprised," father said, and I could hear him thinking once again about how my face makes me look like a child.

"Hey! It had some of the most beautiful songs ever, God Help the Outcasts is a masterpiece and Hellfire? The best Disney villain song ever written!" I tried to argue, but it only made Klaus' smile widen even more.

"Never turn your back, kids," dad said totally unprompted. "Especially on your children. You do your best, give them your all, but it's too much. Then it's pills in the porridge and something extra in the tea, next thing you know you signed your life away. All your dreams have been quashed, all your plans run aground, and the worst of it? No one ever comes to visit anymore. But you wouldn't understand that."

"Wouldn't we?" I quickly rubbed my eyes to stop any tears from falling. 

"Reggie, you have no idea," Klaus murmured, laying on my shoulder. "Have you ever been to a Baskin Robbins?"

"Can't say that I have," dad looked at us intrigued.

"They're like... You know the ones, they're half a Dunkin' Donuts and they're open all night, and it's 3 a.m, and nobody's switching out those giant empty tubs of fudge ripple. That's me! I feel like scoop after scoop after scoop has been taken out of me. Brother... Lover... A whole world... And now my mom. I don't have many scoops left, I only have two."

"Two?" his brows furrowed, certainly curious.

"Two, my Victoria," Klaus looked up at me with dreamy eyes. "And my pretty face. Once I lose that, I lost everything."

This boy's devotion reminds me of how I used to be like with Abigail, I heard the old man thinking.

"Who's Abigail?" I asked without hesitation.

"I forgot you can read minds, can't you, young lady?" dad asked.

"Yes, and I'm getting better at it."

"I see that. Abigail is none of your concern, I kindly ask you to stay out of my head, please. I have no idea what you two are talking about anyhow."

"I just feel like if I could find out who killed them, I'd have closure on-" Klaus continued, but was interrupted by dad.

"Do you want some ice cream? Would that shut you up?"

"Yeah, yeah I do," he grinned, nudging my arm. 

Father got up and I couldn't help imaging how my childhood would've been like if this Reggie was my father instead of the one we had back then. He tried to grab a couple of bowls, but one of them slipped from his grasp and fell, shattering all over the place. 

"Damn pills..." he cursed, looking truly embarrassed of his own behavior.

"Don't worry," I got down on my knees to clean it up, like I've always done my entire life for everyone around me. In a literal and metaphorical way, I've spent my whole life cleaning messes. "It happens to everyone."

"I can help you with that," Klaus offered. 

"The ice cream?" father asked. 

"No, the pills. If you don't wanna take them..."

"No no no, that's against the rules, I have to take them every day."

"All you have to do is just pop to the side, right here," he opened his mouth and pointed at the spot with his fingers. "And ta-da! Old necessary rehab trick."

"Huh," Reginald looked at me as I gathered the shards with my hands, then at my fiancé. "I didn't care for you when last we met, I thought the nature of your relationship was perverted and honestly disgusting, but I must admit you kids are growing on me."

Those words immediately brought tears to my eyes again, and this time I wasn't able to hold them. I exchanged a look with Klaus, knowing he felt the exact same way I did. We had never heard an I love you, or I'm proud of you, we never had a hug or a dad joke, we never felt loved. So this little kernel of affection meant more to us than anyone could possibly imagine. 

"Are your hands all right?" dad asked after I was done cleaning, noticing I was crying. 

"I'm also super-resistant, remember? I can't get cut like that," I explained. "I'm just a little emotional, you know? PMS."

After giving us our ice cream, Reggie sat back down to watch TV. We enjoyed that moment like Charlie Bucket enjoyed his yearly Wonka bar. 

We savored dad's company, trying to save every second of it in our brains so we'd always remember what it felt like to just do something everyone does with their dads, what it felt like to be normal for once.

Eventually, Reggie fell asleep and we decided it was time to leave. We still had the second part of the deal to honor, so we cleaned up after ourselves and prepared our escape plan. Initially, I would jump through the window and then help Klaus down, but something caught our attention. 

"Oblivion," dad murmured in his sleep.

"Oblivion?" I mouthed back at Klaus and he shrugged. 

"When he's asleep like this he's not so terrible... Wait, do you hear this?" his brows furrowed at the distant sound of mom singing. I don't think I've ever heard mom singing, humming yes, but singing? I didn't even know she was programmed for that.

Without having to say anything, we both headed to the basement where her voice was coming from to see what was going on in there. The risk of bumping into one of the Sparrows and having to fight again was quite high, but we were too curious to care, even more because the song she was singing was some sort of religious chanting.

"Wow!" Klaus giggled when he saw the huge ball of light in the middle of the room, it looked like a smaller version of the sun and I could hear electricity sounds coming from it. That couldn't be good...

Mom passed us by without even acknowledging our presence, too focused on the big bright light. She stopped in front of it and started to worship like some sort of deity, which definitely gave me Destiny's Children flashbacks.

"The Lord! The Lord is upon me!" she exclaimed and started to mutter a bunch of nonsense.

"Let's go, let's get out of here before she summons a demon or something," I pushed Klaus towards the back door, I just wanted to get out of that house as fast as possible, I didn't even care if we would bump into those shitty knock-offs. "I think mom is broken."

"You think? I thought she was about to start singing the Ragatanga. What was that like? Aserehe..."

"Aserehe ra de re de hebe tu de hebere seibiunouba mahabi an de bugui an de buididipi," I said as if that exact sequence of nonsensical words were my native language. 

"That's it," he carefully closed the door behind us and we could finally breathe, even though we were both wearing only swimsuits and robes.

"You remember the Ragatanga?" I laughed, thinking of that Jayme-induced dream I had the other day. "Remember how Diego was mad every time we started singing that?"

"Yeah and you taught everyone the choreography so we could do it to piss him off," he smiled, certainly assaulted by those old memories as well. "Good times... Actually horrible times, but having you there made it not so bad. Come on, let's get our trenchcoats and go shopping."

"I don't know how I feel about this one..." I turned in front of the mirror wearing the fifth wedding dress I picked that day. "I think it's pretty, but do I feel like a princess bride in it? Do I feel like my life is a fairytale?"

"I wouldn't know..." Klaus groaned, leaning back into his seat, I wrapped the thick robe sash around his eyes so he wouldn't be able to see my dress before the actual wedding. "I usually like being blindfolded, but right now it's a pain in my ass, just let me see it!"

"No, Klausie! It's bad luck for the groom to see the dress before the wedding, you know that!"

"You saw my suit, you even helped me choose, how is that fair?"

It was true, I did help pick the gorgeous green velvet suit that kinda looked a bit like one of those '70s jumpsuits, a little Donna and the Dynamos, but still very classy. Klaus would look so handsome in it for our big day!

"Yeah, but there are no rules about the bride seeing the suit."

"I'm the only person who can help you right now, Liebling! All our other siblings are doing boring apocalypse shit," he whined while I changed into the sixth dress of the day. "Maybe I can look as your brother, your favorite brother. That's still me, right? And there are no rules against that!"

"Ugh! Why did Ben have to go into the light? He would be perfect for this job..." I looked in the mirror and immediately hated what I saw, deciding to try on the seventh dress instead. "I can't let you see it because you might be my brother, but you are still my groom so that would ruin everything!"

You know that moment when you are talking somewhere very crowded and everyone else is being loud so you have to speak up more and more until you say something super embarrassing or incriminating and suddenly the room goes quiet and everyone hears what you just said? Well, that's what happened to me in that bridal store.

If dirty, weirded-out looks could kill, I'd be dead. Klaus certainly noticed what happened because he started uncontrollably cackling and even forgot about the stupid blindfold and his complaints about not seeing my dress.

"It's fine, we're adopted! I mean not like that..." I tried to shout, but no one seemed to care.

"I take it back, I'm loving this," he wheezed. "This is so funny, I love you so much."

"Shut up!" I finally looked in the mirror and gasped. "Oh my God, this is it... I knew I'd know when I saw it, and I do! This is my dress, this makes me feel like a princess and it's sexy, I love it, it's perfect!"

"I'm glad you found it, sis," he teased. "Can we just pick your shoes so I can take this thing off?"

"I'm gonna wear Allison's flats, those glittery ones, it'll be my something borrowed," I changed out of the dress as quickly as possible and ran to the front to pay for it and hide it inside of those big black bags where Klaus wouldn't be able to peek. I even planned to leave it with Viktor so nobody would see it. 

"Are you ready?" Klaus asked before taking the blindfold off.

"Yeah, you can look now."

"I can't wait to see it, but I'd marry you even in that swimsuit... Well, especially in that swimsuit," he smirked, stealing a kiss as we left the store. "You should wear it more often."

"Oh fuck!" I stopped, my heart jumping with terror.

"What? We forgot something?" 

"Jayme and Alphonso just died," I breathed. I could see them, I don't know whose mind I was reading, but I saw a blast taking them both out and nearly killing Christopher, Ben, Fei, and Sloane as well. 

"Who?" Klaus asked.

"That tiny one with the black venom and the big weird-looking one from Brazil," I explained, thinking about that conversation from the day of the first fight. "Hey, maybe I should be more like him, Alphonso I mean."

"What? Who would wanna be like him? He's like a human blob!" 

"First of all, that's pretty insensitive. Second of all, he told me something that day that kinda stuck with me. He said with my power if I gained more mass I could possibly absorb the impact of hits and send it back to the person hitting me."

"More mass? So you'd have to gain weight like I told you already..."

"Yeah, yeah, but maybe if I start working out I could gain more muscle, that must be amazing to absorb the impact! Look at Luther, he might be stupid, but he gets up pretty quick after a fight, he can take hit after hit after hit."

"Okay, so what I'm hearing is," Klaus squealed with joy. "Muscle mommy."

"What?" I laughed. 

"Muscle mommy! You're gonna look so sexy, oh fuck, I'll want you to crush my head with your thighs, lift me up in your strong arms! You have my full support."

"O-okay, thanks, Klausie. Now let's go see the damage with the Sparrows before you get a boner in the middle of the street."

Unnecessarily Long S3 Trailer Analysis

General thoughts:

APOCALYPSE NUMBER 3, HERE WE GO!!!

Honestly think that every season is going to be about stopping the apocalypse, and you know what? I'm fine with that.

PERFECT song for the trailer, 10/10

I love how they are referring to the Umbrellas and Sparrows as siblings straight out of the gate, let them be a big happy family!!

The Sparrows seem less intense in the trailer than they have been in the rest of the promotional material. Like, we see them grooving, we see Marcus going to a diner with Viktor, we see them getting beat by the Umbrellas multiple times. I like it. Seeing them as actual people and not invincible, emotionless superheroes drives home how Reginald fucked up yet another group of literal children.

Klaus, ending up in an alternate timeline that is going to be destroyed in less than a week: It's a tits-out kind of look.

Seriously, I don't think he has a single outfit with a closed, full-length shirt, and you know what? Valid.

I wasn't sure whether Fei's power was turning into birds or controlling them, this trailer confirms it's the latter

Looks like Lila joins up with them early on. GOOD. SHE'S A PART OF THE FAMILY NOW.

Younger!Reginald, this might be a scene about when he first came to earth and it'll explain their origins a little bit

FIVE'S FUCKING FISHING OUTFIT. Amazing. Five toasting their untimely demise. Amazing. Klaus's outfit. Amazing. Dear God I want to have brunch with the two of them.

Blood bag that gets blown up by the kugelblitz. I'm guessing someone gets severely hurt and ends up in the hospital. Honestly could see it being an Umbrella or a Sparrow. I've seen a few people theorizing that one of the Sparrows will die, idk if I agree but I can definitely see one of them almost dying. Maybe one of the episodes will end in a cliffhanger where it looks like someone's going to die, but then they don't, like with Allison in S1.

Had to zoom in so this pic is pretty blurry, but that person is definitely wearing a hat. So this is Klaus getting attacked by Ben during their first encounter. Fun.

Five being the one to punch Ben in the face...he'd do anything for his siblings, including hurt another sibling.

Love Fei just chilling, watching Luther getting the shit beat out of him. Icon. It looks like Marcus's power is literally the exact same as Luther's, since I don't think he'd be able to punch Luther out if he didn't have super strength too. Maybe it'll turn out there's another aspect to it, but for now it seems like they're the same. Imagine having the most generic superpower out of all of your siblings and being like "well at least I'm the only one with the power" and then finding out that someone else has your incredibly basic power too. The Hargreeves + Love Languages

Not technically for Valentine’s Day, but the timing lines up pretty well! Here are my theories for the Hargreeves and their primary love languages. 💕

Luther: Words of Affirmation

“Sometimes these things just take time.”

Luther both expresses and seems happiest receiving affection through words of affirmation, which makes a lot of sense for him, given how Reginald used the faintest scraps of praise to earn his undying loyalty for years (the only positive about this man being back is that now the kiddos get a chance to kill him themselves). We see it in how he interacts with his siblings. When Allison confesses how lost and alone she feels after losing Claire, he gently encourages her. When he and Vanya begin to mend their relationship he instantly becomes her #1 hype man (we love to see it). Even Elliot! We also see how even the smallest encouragements from other people clearly mean so much to him, whether it’s his siblings, or, you know, Jack Ruby. 

Diego: Acts of Service

“I know what it’s like to love dangerous people.”

Ah, Diego “I have to save everyone, wtf is self care?” Hargreeves. Not only are acts of service the primary way he shows affection, they are also pretty much the only way he knows how to. Like, Diego will tie Klaus to a chair to help him get sober, and attack a bunch of angry vets for him, but when he tries to talk he ends up wistfully recalling the time Klaus got his mouth wired shut. He gets incredibly attached to people who help him, even if they have ulterior motives for doing so (read: Lila and to some extent Herb), and goes to ridiculous lengths to help them in return (literally throwing himself in front of a huge onslaught of bullets to protect Five). Which makes sense, considering his relationship with Grace really developed because she was willing to help him work on his speech when no one else would. 

Allison: Receiving Gifts

“I’m the luckiest man in all of Dallas.”

“Is that right?” 

Okay, first of all, Allison Hargreeves is 100% the kind of person to pick up little gifts for Claire literally every time she’s out of town. We see the two people in the series that know her best, Luther (who’s attachment I’m deciding to interpret as 100% familial... don’t ruin this for me) and Raymond, both give her gifts to show her how loved she is. Ray picks up a book for her, and she just about melts on the spot. She kept the necklace Luther gave her for years. We also see her giving gifts as a form of affection, from using her powers to get Ray a nice suit, to the “feast” she sneaks in for her and Luther as children. It makes a ton of sense for her as a character, too. I think on some level, Allison fears that none of her relationships are as real as she wants them to be, so having someone say “I was somewhere else and thought of you, here is something that it never occurred to you to ask for” means so much to her in proving that she is loved in return as fiercely as she loves. 

Klaus: Quality Time

“Logging in some quality bro time before the end of the world.”

We see multiple instances where Klaus is seeking out time with his family as a way of expressing affection. He leaps at any opportunity to accompany Five on a mission, and the aforementioned incident with Diego. He takes Allison and Vanya for tacos to spend time with them. He just wants to spend time with his family, y’all. It’s honestly kind of adorable. It’s how people show affection to him, too. Diego drives him places, and we see when Klaus is at a low point, he takes special care to come back in and check on him. It also makes sense for reasons of sad, because we know that Klaus is never really alone, and the constant presence of ghosts is dulled by spending time in other people’s company. Because of this, he associates spending time with the people he’s close to as being both comfortable and safe. 

Five: Acts of Service

“Everything I’ve done, I’ve done for my family.”

This little gremlin really went out and said “I’m going to save the whole entire world for my family,” like, honey. Doing stuff for people is the primary way he shows affection. He’s constantly fighting to save his family, and carries Dolores around constantly. He shows up when Vanya asks for help. We also see it in the way he responds to other people. Like, Hazel does one nice thing for him and he’s like “oh, we’re friends now.” Vanya makes him sandwiches to show him that he’s being taken care of. Reginald actually gives him legitimate advice for once. Donut shop guy (R.I.P) buys him his coffee. That small smile he gets in the elevator when they all show up to talk to Reginald together and he sees that they actually do care. Five has been doing everything by himself for so long, and having someone else step in, even if he won’t ever admit it, means the world. 

Ben: Physical Touch

“Can you hug me as I go?”

Ben was a little harder because we don’t really see him interact with that many people other than Klaus, but he really made it his mission to hug all of them, so it kind of works. The moment with Vanya, the hug with Diego, even how he just wants to occupy the same space was Jill as soon as he can, Ben just really wants physical contact with the people he cares about. The first thing he does when he realizes he can touch things is play patty cake with Klaus. Which makes the fact that he spent 20+ years incorporeal and unable to touch anyone... kind of devastating actually. It also makes sense because we know that Ben hates the destructive capabilities of the Horror, and the fact that someone is okay with being physically close to him means that they trust him and aren’t afraid.

Vanya: Words of Affirmation

“You’re plenty elegant.”

All things considered, it makes a lot of sense that words of affirmation would be the way Vanya feels most loved, most seen. Reginald Hargreeves verbally dismissed her whenever he had the opportunity, and we see her clinging to anyone who says nice things about her. Leonard talks her up constantly, and she falls for him instantly. In a much nicer (and more genuine) way, Sissy tells her frequently that she’s valuable, that she’s wanted. Vanya talks herself down a lot, and Sissy will not hear it, lol. We also see it in the way she reached out to other people! She’s so encouraging and supportive of Sissy. In a beauty parlor, she just gushes to both Klaus and Allison, “this family’s amazing” even though they’ve kind of just exposed themselves as the trainwrecks they are. It’s cute af.
