Please don't center me around this drama I'm not the one who needs the support Wenni is they have been a victim of F1zzyst4r for a year now I just want to simply explain.. how this has affected me.. but please show some support to Wenni and not me

So there has been a lot on my mind been gone a few days so it feels a little bit more clearer

I do not want to meet the situation about me since I'm not the one who's being harassed Wenni has and I don't want to make the situation about me even though I am also being affected by it. Just not the way Wenni has been, that's why I have been scared to talk about how I'm feeling about Skittles.. and everything but uhh just because I don't want to make it about me I'm not the let's say main victim.. yes I have been harassed I don't know if was one of skittle's friends that told me this in my ask box but someone recently told me to kill myself and it threw me off

And for a while I felt forced to be friends with him (Skittles) I texted him before I blocked him that hey I felt forced to be your friend and it's making me uncomfortable.. I didn't say this part but the tracing also made me uncomfortable.. especially when it was clear that you copied someone else's design and is tracing someone else's art without credit or say oh yeah I make expired by this person inspiration, and now don't come attack me and say oh there's a few times that you didn't credit someone but as soon as someone say hey by the way maybe credit the person that gives you inspiration you @ them and I have I go back and edit pic or post and @ the person there is just sometimes where I get so excited that I forget but Skittles even after being called out and you're saying hey dude by the way maybe just give credit to the person that you take inspiration from Skittles is like erm actually they're tracing me!!

That's my point of view of how I see it and those other parts but I don't want to make this really long and boring to read

But I just mainly wanted to say how I've been infected by everything, after becoming friends with Skittles I thought they were kind and sweet they were to me but that's before I knew the full drama I did follow wenni on Pinterest for a while and seen little glimpse here and there last time I seen before I became friends with Skittles is that Wenni and Skittles were on good terms.. so I thought it was all right to be his friend, this whole friendship started because I made my old reference sheet of nighty, based off of on of wenni's old ref.. Skittles was like hey by the way maybe not copy me and I simply told them that I took inspiration from someone else that I didn't even know they were on the board, we became friends on Tumblr and talked, then I started getting targeted not targeted that's not the right word to say involved in drama that simply I was just watching from behind.. never had any attention to get involved with any of the drama but with my luck I somehow got into it because I was friends with Skittles.. I'm no longer friends with him and I feel free I feel safer now but I keep seeing the excuse of like his friends in my inbox "he made art for you and everything, he thought you guys were friends" just because you simply made art for me doesn't really mean anything I'm sorry? Like I make art for a lot of people doesn't mean I'm their friend I just think whatever OC or design I did was really neat and I wanted to draw it myself.. in the friend part I did see each other as friends but we never really communicated like we were friends.. we would talk to each other about the drama and I remember at some point I said whoever is tracing needs to own up to it now so this drama could be over and no one can get hurt or go through more mental health problems... But it seems that he didn't take that advice but oh well but other than talking about the drama and stuff we vented it to each other, there were a few funny moments but it's wasn't really friends? It was like that one buddy you see crossing the hall and you talk for a minute before going back to your class and then you don't see them for the rest of the year that's how it felt and before everything that happened I will admit I had a tad of a crush on Skittles but over time it started affecting me not in the greatest way... And I just lost all feelings when I got with my partner... And then at some point he would call me dear or something ? And sweetheart saying I'm sorry I think someone hacked my account acting all flirty with me which made me uncomfortable...

But besides that uhh he has now decided to text my mutuals or get his friends to do it I believe he's doing it because they are all anonymous and him or he got his friend to send something one of my mutuals inbox say hi by the way uhh river faked being friends with Skittles like a few times something something quite frankly I don't think you should be mutuals with them no more

Ok ok Skittles I see I see going to my mutuals telling them, that they should stop being friends with me because I stopped being friends with you because you're traced someone's art and copied many people's designs and when I tell you that I felt forced to be your friend and felt so uncomfortable and I unfollowed you which is a valid reason saying that I was uncomfortable and blocking you you're going to resort to going to my mutuals and basically harass them saying you should stop being friends with River, river is a bad friend you shouldn't be friends with them

Okay buddy like what? I've been trying to stay serious but the more I text this sentence the more I'm getting mad and the more I'm realizing the red flags that I should have realized from before... Honestly Skittles I hope you get help I hope you get therapy or something I'm not going to wish upon your death because honestly that's against what I believe which is nothing but like I don't believe in telling people they should kill themselves just because of certain actions I feel like they should get help now let's say if you were a pedophile now I would say kill yourself but does drama could have been resolved a long time ago if you just figured out your own art style who you are and stop copying someone to the point of copying that Wenni saying you have anger issues and trust issues ?

Wet Skittles I do wish that you get some therapy help mental help hell go to a mental asylum I don't care get help...

The stress got so much that I took it out on myself I was almost 2-3 month clean..

1. [Inspiration] my BSD ocs are actually based off old/abandoned story concepts ! peregrine is based off an animatic I envisioned in my head while listening to Monster Town by Go! Child like 5 years ago. it involved two kids getting lost in a haunted themepark one night, wherein one gets possessed/bodysnatched by a ghost and the other tries to save her. I consulted The Archives to try & find old sketches ↓

her name is Peregrine because the way I name my ocs is by going to behindthename and scrolling through names of the first initial I want until I find something that fits to me. a friend once told me I name my ocs like victorian children and I had no defense because it's lowkey on purpose

2. [Faction] former guild, flying solo now after its disbanding. I imagine she wasn't actually with the guild for that long, and mostly kept to herself for the time she was there.

3. [Intro/Info] Peregrine R. Paisley! 19 year-old private investigator and anonymous magazine columnist. also lesbian

she joined the guild at age 18 following the murder of her ex-bestfriend/non-reciprocal situationship (ignore the notes they're a little outdated)

[Personality/Misc.] outgoing, but very surface-level. she's not one to form deep personal connections, but enjoys keeping a wide network. she learned sign language to communicate with mirror ghosts but most of them don't know it so she ends up just playing charades or writing notes. her favorite color is yellow. every time someone asks about her middle name she gives a different answer.

also she's besties with keaton and I could go on a whole other ramble about that because they way they mirror eachother and bring out certain buried aspects makes me soooooo normal

i had to drop the headcanons that's been eating up my mind bc the other day while i was taking my mock tests, my mind kept drifting off to the couple. lol. so here's a list of headcanons i had as a reader, from all the different bits of the story and the things you told us. hehe. these are mostly 'soft moments' as asked by you in that ask ( i wish i could drop the reference links, but i'm on my phone so it's hard to operate dually. however, i shall say which parts inspired what brainrot : they're from your works )

inspo : a!oc is the type of person who knows what she wants, her saying : two years of marriage and i still put up with the way you put the toilet paper the wrong way around. lol. her being very organized too bc she doesn't want work to pile up and focuses on her tasks in office. both of thm loving to sing

if she loves her things organized, i can see— during the beginning of their dating life, tae'd come over on a random weekend, only to find a!oc cleaning up, in her most natural state, and the mundane aspect of it would melt him. why? bcos he's the been there, done that sort of person, but not when it comes to these things. the domesticity, i mean. hehe.

also, the fact that she trusted him enough to show that side of her? :') the only reason she wouldn't stress about her look is bc she's adorably engrossed in her work and NEEDS IT DONE AND HE SAW HER IN OTHER STATES TOO 🫠

since we are talking soft moments mostly, i can literally see him trying to sexually rizz her up on some video call— imagine him going like 'are you touching yourself?' or smth bc her hands are busy 🤣 but homegirl, who misses him sm and can be an adorable vixen, leads him on— only to send a quicksketch of him so beautifully done ( with artist-oc : a!oc touch 🥹 )....and can you imagine his reaction? always 'interpreting him anew' x 'you are an artist to me, okay?'

inspo : basically, tae's protectiveness towards her, a!oc not liking to depend on people, her caring about his demons and wanting to fight his battles and these intially clashing, smex that melts you. tae : i cried, she crode. we s-crewed. ( no, rid. you never wrote that but its just a lil meme ref 😭 ) old tae and his demons.

this one is also from initial years. i think if she were to ever get injured in any way or had a scar—however minor, he'd still spend hours on those spot/s, kissing & hating himself for not being there when it happened. also, i think if she didn't tell him about such a thing/things bc it's not an issue to her, because he had sm going on according to her and didn't wanna pile on— he'd be upset. can see her making jokes about it since it's nothing to her, and him glaring at her with swimming red eyes ( just like the wedding drabble where he threatened her to never leave him ), and making similar threats to his favorite girl ( mid-lovemaking ) ☹️

you often write that before meeting her, tae's biggest flex in bed was composure. so i can literally see him shortcircuting (even during the roughest rounds), hearing her say the most loving things and her unadultered affection. the holds only bared by his urge to take care of her first like you always say.

also, i think when he first introduced her to his world of ruined tango, he was more concerned about her, than a!oc herself. can see him internally worrying, but she is the type to want it harder and more, anyway, to his constant surprise 😂 no, but seriously. suppose it's waxplay, and he knows what he's doing bc he's a pro, but it's still his a!oc 😭 no matter how much lust and control is swarming around them, his need to smear his affection on/inside her is REAL! ever love someone so much that even being balls deep in them isn't enough bc you wanna consume them whole??? and merge with their soul and being??? that's them, and it was novel for him. right?

and you said he kinda likes giving away control more now? why can i see a!oc, simply like a mini-him in some ways, just loving on every nook and crany of his being, when she first took over charge? 🥹 she must have had sm love to give him 🥹 i mean, in the past giving away control would be all about pleasure, but i think when he gave her that role for the first time, he wasn't expecting getting LOVED ON. Okay, so I finally decided to share my Limbus Company oc's story. I'm a bit nervouse but lets start with the contant warrning (bc its project moon related so it's bound to be disturbing)

Name: Nemecsek (Ernő)

Age: 20

Gender: Male (cis)

Nationality: Hungarian

Qualification: Grade 9 Fixer

EGO: Grund

Literature Ref.: The Paul Street Boys (A Pál utcai fiúk) by Ferenc Molnár

Appearance

Hair: Light blonde

Skin: Pale white,

Eyes: Light blue

Extra: He has heavy shadows under both of his eyes and a gape between his teeth.

Uniform: Normal LCB uniform with the long coat. Additional hat and a Red scarf replacing the tie.

Weapon: Spear with two head, has a green and red flag tied to it.

Personality Traits:

Nemecsek is usually very quit however he has a sharp tounge. He often talks his mind without hiding any intention, unfiltered. When getting unconfortable he either respounds with avoiding and "running away" from the problem or get defenzive and going into denie. Even though he isn't easy to aproach, he can be really reliable, loyal and trustworthy.

Background:

He used to live in the backsreet of District 13, the M Wing. He last his family due to a bombing incident it their neighborhood and as a result became an orphane at the age of 10. Not soon after he was found by a group of Fixers, investigating the incident and joined them. They where the Paul Street Office and their leader was Boka. First he just did them smaller jobs without any risks, but soon he took up regular fixer jobs as well. But since Nemecsek was a minor he was never registered as a fixer. The rival office, the Red Shirt Office didn't liked the way Boka have been grooming Nemecsek into such a dangerous work environment just so he can save some tax money, and so their leader Áts wasn't so found of Nemecsek's present and she made that very clear.

One day Nemecsek and a few lower ranked fixers were sent away to get an intel for the office, unknowing that this mission would save their life. While they were away, an abnormality attacked District 13 and it escalated to a point where a Color had to be called. The attack had a huge bloow on the area and 70% of the locals died, including the majority of Paul Street office and its leader, Boka. After the Office ended due to the aftermath of the incident. Nemecsek left the District. Later finally officialy registered as a fixer but even though he is a Grade 9 fixer, due to his ppast experience he is an the level of a Grade 7. Right after the registration he was hired at LCB. He never forgot himself and blames himself for not being at the attack and couldn't save his ideal. Áts tried to confort him in the past but her comments on Boka deeply hurt Nemecsek. In his eyes Boka saved his life and adopted him into a "family", unable to recognise that he was only used as cheap work force, yet.

Illness:

Nemecsek has been struggling with a cronic unknown illness that stained his whole life. There for he is very familiar with death and his mortality. He is estimated to live at best 30-40 years.

art fight???? how???

hey, could you explain a little about the art fight thing? i want to fight people !1!1!

Art Fight is an art gifting and trading game! It's been running in some form or another since (quickly checks about page) 2007 apparently but I've been playing it since 2016.

The way the game/event works is outlined here on the site's About page. Basically you just pick other users and draw free art for them of their characters--art you make for other people is called "attacks", and if you're lucky, they'll get "revenge" by drawing something back for you of one of your own characters, too!

There's a light framework of "teams" and "points" overlaid on top of that "draw art of others' OCs" concept to gamify it and give it a fun aesthetic (with team themes like sun vs moon, vampires vs werewolves, etc), but there are no prizes for the winning team, you can freely draw stuff for people on your own team, you can switch teams at any time, and... honestly most users don't really care about teams or points and are just in it for the OC gift art aspect of it.

I'm a huge fan of it because Art Fight feels like one of the last places on the internet that is by and for artists exclusively. On Art Fight you can openly relish in the fact that you're obsessed with one of your characters, or show off this idea for a cool story and setting you want to turn into a novel someday, or proudly display the fact that you've been worldbuilding in-depth dragon lore for a decade and be totally and completely surrounded on all sides by people who not only get it, but also are all doing the same thing. It's also a great way to give some love and support to beginner artists.

Some tips on how to have a better Art Fight experience:

Don't go in with the expectation that you'll get a ton of art, especially your first year. Your main goal should be to make gifts for other people.

If you are hoping to get "revenges" back, try to "attack" people who are definitely playing this year (as in, have drawn at least one attack this summer) but who aren't already swamped with a ton of attacks to "revenge" already. (Attacking only very popular/professional artists who get more attacks then they could ever possibly keep up with will leave you feel disappointed... that said, it's arguably worth attempting a few, just in case you get lucky, because that's how I got a drawing from Shoomlah, one of my childhood art idols!)

If you have an art blog, promote your Art Fight stuff to your followers there so they know you're playing. Playing with a group of friends is also more fun than playing solo 'cause you can always attack each other if you're not getting many revenges. Leaving nice comments on other people's characters and art can also help make you more visible/leave a good impression if you're brand new to the game.

Points and teams seriously don't matter at all, even a little. I suggest not paying them any attention at all beyond picking the team theme you think is cooler.

It's best to at least skim a character's profile and rules before drawing them. Not only does it help you get a better feel for the character, sometimes people put useful design details there instead of on their refs.

One more thing: Don't take Art Fight too seriously! You and everyone else are here to have fun. Don't get hung up on art "quality"--lots of people (including myself) are only doing headshots or sketches. Don't get upset if someone forgets a detail on your character or doesn't draw them quite "right". Don't get hung up on numbers or "ratios" or feel too stung if someone doesn't comment on or revenge something you draw for them. After all, Art Fight is for all types of artists, including young artists who don't fully understand netiquette rules yet, busy adults with full time jobs, people with disabilities that make it hard for them to communicate or hard for them to type or leave them with limited energy... etc. That doesn't mean they didn't appreciate what you drew for them!

Wow, I wrote too much. I should probably stop typing and go draw something for Art Fight before it gets too late in the evening!

TL;DR: Fun art gifting game. Great to rub elbows with other creatives for a month! Feels like an online convention of sorts! A+! Would recommend.

12. Who are your character faceclaims?

Ooh, this is a fun one, because most of my character aren't based on a single actor/other faceclaim but I Do have specific people I reference when I'm drawing them. I'm going to answer this for all three stories because Why Not (and also you've unlocked Art Time)

No Place For A Doctor

There's only really one character in this one* and it's Sam Harnendil, beloved former DnD character. (That collage was put together as a quick reference for drawing him, some of that is pretty old art but Sam hasn't really changed, I've just gotten better at drawing him.) Appearance-wise, Sam is mainly a combination of these two, who also form the basis of his personality:

That's Tom Ward as Dr Harry Cunningham in Silent Witness, and Stephen McGann as Dr Patrick Turner in Call The Midwife, two of my very favourite TV doctor characters. The ginger hair and the freckles were just 'cause, but you can probably see that Sam gets a lot from Harry in particular on the visual front. Which is fun, because actually more of his personality came from Dr Turner.

(*Technically there's dozens of other bit characters in the comic, but Sam is the only Main Character and the only one I have a definitive face for except for a few cameos from one of my other OCs. That would be Arthur, whose face was shamelessly stolen from an actor called Peter Wingfield.)

The Woodsman And The Wolf

There's two main characters in this one, Ewan the woodsman and William the werewolf traveller. I haven't scanned the sketches I've done of them yet, so here's some bad photos:

Ewan is loosely referenced from Anson Mount (Captain Pike in Strange New Worlds), and I didn't have a specific reference for William, he was mainly Just Vibes, but I did reference his eyes from James McAvoy's Professor X.

Unnamed Detective Thing

I saved this one for last, because I do actually have Official Fancasts for the main characters from this one! It kind of exists in my head as a TV series/movie, and in the hypothetical self-indulgent movie version (which in my head would have been made around 10 years ago so actor ages and character ages approximately match up) these are the main characters:

Colin Firth as DCI George Glen, Tom Ward (again, I know, it's Fine) as Dr Tim Kingswood and Freema Agyeman as DS Naomi Edusei. There is a fourth main character, but major spoilers so I'm saying nothing on that front.

But since this is in theory going to be a comic, I can't just steal people's faces, so I bounced each of those folks off of another actor (John Barrowman for George, Ewan McGregor for Tim, and Rosalind Eleazar for Naomi) to come up with Official Canon Faces for them all. I haven't drawn Naomi yet because it took me a while to settle on a second face ref for her, but here's George and Tim:

Been a while since I last heard about your OCs (or, actually most if not all of the Tumblr rebornverse OCs), so tell me anything you've been cooking up for them recently!

Okay so like I said before I am making toyhouse pages for all of (rebornverse) ocs and Miles & Mavis are currently done! I just need to make some more new art for them! Speaking of art everyone is getting some new character art/refs!

Everyone is getting a bit of a re-haul! Either design or lore wise, some are major some are minor. Planning on making 10 year in the future refs/art for all my reborn ocs, so look out for that!

For the the ones I'm really working on are Chad and Dearil! I'm also making a new Rejuv oc namd Felix and a new Reborn oc named Lukey Arengee! (some v13.5 spoilers!)

Okay so quick reminder:

Mention of child abuse, death

Chad and Dearil lived in Almia with a woman named Aasha, who was cruel and manipulative, after their parents died. They are not blood related, they didn't even meet until Aasha brought them in.

Aasha mainly cares for money and power, but hides in the shadow for the most parts. She is a thief (and implied murdered).

A while after Dearil turns 18 Chad leaves to Reborn to start a new life, but promises to come back for them and take them with him. Dearil visits Reborn after Chad defeats Lin (Main Game). When they found out Chad 'disappeared' they assumed their brother abandoned them and left back home. Aasha lashed out at them and attacked them. Unfortunately she killed them on accident, although she wasn't too sad about that.

When Chad came back he was heartbroken to find out Dearil 'died' and defeated Aasha in a battle who 'disappeared' right after.

Chad then lived out his life in Reborn.

After Dearil died Variya pulled them back and asked them to become the interceptor. Dearil agreed. His soul was filled with hatred and the need to get revenge, however they didn't know why as their memories where erased for the most part. (some of their memories come back, all of them at their final battle against their brother)

Dearil tried to defeat team Xen and went along with the others in hopes that the feelings they were feeling would be quenched, but soon found out it didn't help. He didn't really care about helping any of the people who saw them as their friend and Clear and Kieran took that opportunity to ask them to join them.

They told them that if he helped them bring the world to oblivion the person that he hated so much would perish too, they agreed.

At some point Dearil is facing off against Chad, who was tipped off that his brother was alive and figured out what they were up too.

Chad defeated them and mortally wounded them and all the hatred Dearil felt went away. Chad said he would reset time using Dialga and fix all this, Dearil entered the Zeight (remotely) and tried to fix some things there so Chad wouldn't remember and Dearil would be able to fix their own mess as they started to feel regret.

Karma intervened and they struck a deal, no one (but Karma) retained their memories although they were saved in the zeight. Dearil then goes through the paragon run.

Chad stuff:

-He plays instruments, preferably windinstruments (harmonica and flute), but he also plays acoustic guitar and bass.

-He was very sheltered from the world by Aasha, although he knew he was trans he didn't know there was hormone treatment or surgeries he could take. Aasha did steal some T-shots from hospitals to give it to Chad, but he was under the impression she made it for him.

He also does not have had any surgeries, after learning that stuff like top surgery and bottom surgery exist he still decides not to take any as he is comfortable enough with his body as is.

-During the events of rejuv he has two babies (twins.) One named Riley, nickname Riri (Nickname is similar to Kiki) and one named Dearil II (named after his 'deceased' sibling.)

-He still specializes in ghost/dragon type, but half his team is sand based to mirror Solaris.

Dearil stuff:

-Before the interceptor stuff he used to try out different instruments to try and play music with their brother, although they gave up quickly on most of it. He did sing though which was one of the few things they enjoyed doing. He picks this back up late act 2 (karma files).

-Renegade Dearil does like and care for Mosely and Amber... To an extant. They're nice to those two, but if they get in their way... Well...

-Paragon Dearil's memories of his renegade path are hidden away, but still very much present. During act one most of it is them seeming to get a feeling of 'deja vu' which are actually just memories. During the quest where you meet Talon, Florin and Flora he gets 'weird visions and nightmares' (memories) of rift Talon and Florin how he acted during renegade if you choose the road to kill him.

During act two their memories seem to leak into reality. During act one renegade Dearil and Paragon Dearil make most of the same major choices (defeat madame X, don't give Cera the Magma Stone and save Amber), until act 2 starts and paragon Dearil after voices in their head tries to steer him from the path of oblivion (his past renegade self and the things Chad said during their last meeting in renegade)

His renegade self coming forth and taking over his current personality (this never last long). Others also get some weird feelings of deja vu and an uneasy feeling around Dearil during certain parts.

During the parts in Darclight time starts to distort around Dearil (and Florin and Erin who are with him at the time). An anomaly (renegade Dearil) appears after memories with Chad were once again unlocked. P!Dearil is unconscious during this and Florin and Erin are forced to fight the anomaly (Dearil's pokemon helping out trying to protect their trainer).

Stuff like this happens a few times.

Eventually when Adrest unlocks their intereptor form the memories get released as well, but they take form as r!Dearil. The two fight and Adrest gives the option to lock the memories away again.

Both Dearils and Aero talk for a bit and decide that they shouldn't hide from the past. Adrest and Nancy warn that everyone will remember what they did.

They won't remember everything at once, and not everyone will remember things as fast as the others, but they'll remember.

They go for it anyway and the paragon Karma Files play out as normal for the most part there.

Well there is a scene after they return from the zeight and they and Melia go through the ruined timeline stuff as, well, the others remembered. They all decide to trust Dearil in the end.

-R!Dearil specializes in Dark/Ghost, to represent evil and death.

P!Dearil specializes in Normal/Ghost, Normal to contrast with the fact nothing in any of their lives was normal to begin with.

Complete!Dearil specializes in Normal/Fire, Normal because they just want to put their past behind them and be a regular person. Fire as their life has started a new, a new flame if you will.

-All of P!Dearil's old ghosts were gifted to some of his friends.

Felix!!!

Felix's host is Ariana. He does not specialize in a type, but his pokemon are friendship themed! He uses pokemon that evolve via friendship and uses pokemon that are the aces of his loved ones. His starter is Torchic to represent his host!

You can figure out Lukey's case.

artfight this year was, in terms of VIBES, utter dogshit

But at the same time it was the best artfight I've ever had. I've never gotten as many attacks before, just like I've never attacked as many people. I got so much more confident in my art and I genuinely had fun, and since I had improved even before it started I was able to get so many ocs on the platform, ocs that lacked art and that I wasn't confident enough to post on the platform before otherwise. They didn't all get art (most of it went to my sona lmao) but it's nice. Even got in a pretty high effort mass attack last minute- which was relieving considering everyone went paranoid about those in the beginning (for fair reasons sometimes)

I think just randomly selecting OCs from the recent page, and attacking mutuals was the best choice here.

This year's social media coverage was insufferable too. Some of my mutuals refused to join at all due to this, not just the odd tiktok trends and the entitlement, but also the "OH YOU NEED TO PREPARE 30 REFS TWO MONTHS IN ADVANCE, AND MAKE YOUR PROFILE LIKE THIS OTHERWISE NO ONE WILL ATTACK YOU! AND LOOK AT THE ATTACK RATIOS! AND DON'T FORGET TO POST THE CARD IN EVERY SINGLE SERVER YOU'RE IN! AND YOU NEED TO DO THIS THIS AND THIS BECAUSE I DON'T EVEN LOOK AT PROFILES THAT DON'T DO THIS AND THIS"

Oh my god. Way to discourage beginners from an event that's supposed to be FUN. I wasn't affected by this due to having enough motivation to draw on a daily basis for a while now, but artfight is NOT supposed to be stressful like that. YOU ARE MAKING IT STRESSFUL. Sit back. Upload one fullbody of your character, heck even a halfbody works in some cases, my friend has a character like that and she still got attacks. If you have a big, detailled ref, good for you!

You don't even need a profile besides your boundaries because unless you 1) subscribed to someone 2) attacked someone and they want to revenge you or 3) go out of your way to link your profile everywhere, people will NOT see it, they'll just see your character through tag search or recent and EVEN IF PEOPLE SEE YOUR PROFILE you only need simple boundaries which can be put in your character warnings ANYWAYS!

Same thing for OC profiles you can have literally the least amount of lore for your OC people will still draw them, you can even just link an external profile (with proper warnings) if you don't wanna copy and paste the bio and layout or something

Don't get me started about the ratio, caring too much about them is overly punitive and utter bullshit, you cannot keep up a 50+ ratio without burning out in most cases since you cannot control when people revenge you unless you're doing a chain or attacking 100% revenge profiles. Holding people to higher standards or refusing to attack people because of their ratio defends the entire purpose of artfight, and is, quite frankly, an asshole move.

To enjoy AF you literally just need to upload some random ocs and draw some random ocs. Now I know that not getting attacks feels like shit. But artfight is about giving first and foremost. It's the first thing you see in the beginner's guide. You give free art to people who MAY give you free art in return. It is free art. You are not entitled to it, though I wish everyone could receive something at the end of the day no matter what.

Do not look at social media. Don't join the discord unless you need server uptime/downtime info. And it will seem way more calm.

Artfight has not gone to shit this year. It's a loud part of the community that has. I may not be posting this with any # as to not start discource but anyone seeing this I urge you to take the positives and take a step back from everything else. First week was stressful as hell for me, until I decided to just draw as if no one was telling me to make my account and ratio perfect. As we may say "Artfight is fun when you don't have a bitch in your ear telling you to fix your ratio".

ah im so sorry it took me awhile cuz i really wanted to draw more stuff on it thank you for letting me ramble <3 you've been warned

basically my recent project is im kinda sorta stealing my kynseed ocs for it and also One Guy but that One Guy is so different that if i didn't say anything im pretty sure that no one wouldve known lol

its a story about one man who gets saved by a mysterious deer who turned out to be a fae in disguise and grants this man very potent plant magic and everything that happens after

(his name is oscar btw but he goes by Oz) more talking and also pictures and rambling under the read more

oz has spent his whole life being affected by the fae. they dont mean any harm but some of the more animal like fae get kinda aggressive sometimes so oz has had a lot of close calls in his life! seeing this deer and finding out it was a fae was probably something he was going to see one day but to be granted powers for protecting it (and nearly dying as a result) was not what he was expecting

thing is oz doesnt want these powers! it's difficult for him to control and he didn't even ask for it (because the fae are supposed to ask him what he wants right? and how is that equivalent to his deed?) plus his powers are much stronger than any human could ever dream of. plant magic is already one of the hardest magic for a human to learn but not even experts can achieve what oz can now do accidentally. it feels like overkill for simply taking an arrow to the stomach for an odd doe. that and it now feels like they expect oz to owe them now for this power, which unsettles him if that is the case

also theres another guy, jonah

(sorry for the big ref its all i got)

jonah is known has a sentinel, children blessed by very powerful fae at birth with golden eyes, long lives, among other traits. sentinels are always born as fraternal twins; one boy and one girl. at 18 theyre expected to help humans and fae get along. jonah's sister didn't want to do that and she left while jonah fulfilled his role. he's considered one of the best sentinels in history, known as the Dove for being a peacekeeper.

jonah nearly dies trying to fight a monster that threatens all life and his patron fae puts him in a magic coma in their last ditch effort to keep him alive. he's been slumbering inside a tree for about six(6) years before

until oz accidentally wakes him up with his powers

jonah is a bit premature but he's mostly recovered so it's not too bad, however he's not at his peak health yet. while jonah is still trying to figure out the whole monster problem, oz wonders if he can have jonah find the fae that gave him his powers and negotiate for something else, which jonah thinks is stupid

theres a lot more (like jonah's sister and a few others) but its already long and maybe when i have more drawings i can try to ramble more

I have three main ocs!

the first one is John Reddington

He is like, 30 years old, a crow, and runs the galaxy's largest criminal empire. he uses this empire to help people and dismantle major corporations that run the galaxy. Hes a god with a revolver (specifically a Unica 6) and excellent at hand to hand combat. (obligatory overpowered OC moment) His parents were murdered when he was 12 and the man who killed them adopted him and made him into the crime god and excellent fighter he is today. after he found out how his parents died, he usurped his adoptive father, killed him, and then made his own empire to right the wrongs he made over the past decade or so.

The second one, is also my fursona (John used to be, before my transed gender) Her name is April Aviatrix.

shes a radio hobbyist who went to college for electrical engineering (ref is outdated). In the universe where my oc's are set, radio is kinda really outdated, and music overall has become boring (think Human music from rick and morty [god forgive i mention it]) and one day, while messing around with radios in the spaceship equivalent of a ford pinto, she intercepted a signal that was playing music she had never heard before (70's progressive rock) and decided to track down where it was coming from, to find a post apocalyptic Earth, where all humans are dead. She found the source of the signal, which is a massive radio beacon, attached to a half destroyed museum of music, which had all kinds of instruments, and gear, and a massive collection of music made by human beings on massive amounts of hard drives. She took all of the music into her futuristic thumbdrive, including schematics for synths, guitar amps, guitar pickups, pianos, etc. just anything and everything that the museum had on its barely functioning computers. she was able to turn all of this stuff into workable stuff, and taught herself guitar and other instruments, and performs in a local bar every once in a while, that she works as a bartender at (the electrical engineering degree didn't do much). anyways eventually (i ahve no idea how) she ends up meeting John Reddington, going "join my emo band (rush cover band)" and he ends up being absolutely Phenomenal on a drumkit. and she ends up second in command in the empire, as her electrical engineering knowledge is extremely helpful, alongside her being the only genuine connection to another person John's had since he was 12. She uses an HK-USP-S

the last one is Vincent, which. Hes kinda in limbo right now. He used to be a seagull:

and that was pretty neat i think, but i stopped really caring about him as much once i transitioned. Hes supposed to be a bluejay now, but i haven't drawn it, and he plays bass (specifically a Thunderbird). He doesn't really have much of a personality anymore, as that job's been taken over by April. He does wield a fucked up sword that looks like a lawnmower blade.

I have ideas for others, like a rwby oc specifically who has bands around her arms that can turn into swords (think Finn's grass sword, only not hold able, and more attached at the back of the hand like the pacific rim sword) or gauntlets or be used for mobility. Shes neat. Still thinking about a semblance for her though.

Looking Back on 2023

Heyyy folks! Long time no news from me huh.

I'm struggling to think of what to even say about my silence. I've not been doing so bad I'd call myself depressed, but I'm doing a tad worse than just a slump. It's been a rough 6 months, not because of one big thing. Instead, a bunch of medium-sized reasons all piled up on top of each other to leave me extremely drained. I've mostly been working on the two commissions I still had in my queue (thank you to my commissioners for being so patient with me, I'm so sorry to make you wait so long <3). I've done a little personal art other than that but didn't have the leftover focus to keep up with sharing it on social media or writing up any updates about my situation. I've pretty much only been active sharing things in my art discord. I'd like to say I've been doing better in the last month or so, but I hesitate to make any promises at this point! We'll just have to see how things go :)

Artfight

So you were promised a more in depth artfight review but I think I missed the right timeframe for that... instead have this look at 3 years of unfinished artfight thumbnails from my new year's wip clean-out!

Year of Art Summary

All things considered I made a lot of art this year, and I'm really happy with how most of it turned out ☺ I did a bunch of experimenting with more playful techniques and color schemes and I think they suit my style a lot. I want to try and much those limits even more next year to see what kind of fun art I can create! Something with colors specifically really clicked in my brain after that witch drawing I did in April, before then I would spend a long time figuring out the perfect color scheme and doing a bunch of adjustments but ever since that drawing things have really been coming together super quick? I'm not sure what changed but no complaints from me.

Life Drawing Summary

I rarely post my life drawing but I've been keeping at it! Actually, I put together a few pdfs showcasing all my life drawing going back to 2022, you can download them for free in my itch or ko-fi shops! :>

I also put together a yearly art improvement comparison going back to 2015 that I was planning to put here. However, seeing how long this is already getting... I'll make a separate post for it.

Commissions

I've been gearing up to open commissions again after that unintended hiatus. I don't want to open slots until I'm sure I'm back to being able to finish them in a reasonable timeframe, so I've been using that leftover energy I do have to think about revamping some things and new styles to offer. Back in November I ran a survey on what people want to see from me (it's still open if you'd like to fill it out and help me get more stats!)

here's a preview of what's to come based on that & my whims:

- stamp commissions were super well received so they'll be added to my main repertoire

- A combo of me reading too much dun meshi and wanting to offer some kind of comicky commissions led to this idea of comic pages of characters eating together, I have a couple examples in progress, when they're done I'll add this style to my main offerings!

- I'm still not 100% set on sketchpages but I like the idea of them so if this test goes well I'll add them as an option

Onward to 2024!

I already completed my new year's resolution on day 1 of 2024, it was to pet a cat. I've made a second one which is to get a library card whenever my visa is approved and I move back home. It's been something I've been wanting to do for a while but never got around to, hoping this will be the excuse I need to do it.

Art-wise it's not a new goal, but I've been trying to focus on improving my rendering! Though I've also been playing around a lot with screentone... the two don't have to be at odds 🤔

I'm dedicating this year's personal art time to making new references for as many ocs as possible with nude bases so I can easily design new outfits for them whenever I want to without fully making a new ref from scratch.

Otherwise I'm just trying to take it slow, work on things one at a time and see what happens from there.
