anyways my artstyle. i really enjoy doing... hm i dunno if theres a word for it but i like calling it color splitting? basically when im doing the whole "these two parts of the art piece are the same color. when they intersect, the color of one part will be swapped with a different color (in the palette) for visual distinction". the colors Diverge. they Split. this stuff

and the colors have really clear points of separation so that the eye kind of just. sees one coherent shape at a time? idk its fun for me I've seen some people compare my (lineless) art to like. paper cutouts/layering paper which i really enjoy! there isn't actually any Depth in my art (yet) but i enjoy emphasizing Shapes. so this method of separating colors makes it fun for meeeeeee 🫡

hey what was that thing you said about hang ‘em high and 2 guitars fucking each other. i’ve been listening on repeat and i’m hearing it but now i can’t find the post

you may be thinking of these two wonderful posts by @weaponsofclairvoyance which come directly after one another for very good reason lmaoo.

when i reblogged the first one before i saw the second, hang em high was one of the first songs i mentioned, and i've literally used both "dogfight" and "trainwreck" to describe that song before...and those are not coincidences lol. one of ray-and-frank's biggest strengths is making music that's as emotionally evocative as the lyrics and serves the purpose/meaning of the song. mcr does sometimes play with juxtaposing dark lyrics and upbeat music for a specific effect (e.g. headfirst for halos), but hang 'em high is a brilliant example of form matching content, of every element in a song fitting perfectly together - only in this case, they fit perfectly together in the way two cars might after a high-speed crash, twisted hideously out of shape but seamlessly into one another. gerard's vocal performance is out of this world but he wouldn't sound as mad or desperate without those guitars fucking nasty underneath him lol. their parts on the verses are in constant tension with each other - there are moments of mismatched rhythms so it feels like one of them's trying to speed up and moments where one of them's out of key so it sounds dissonant, but it's all done intentionally. so then when they all crash together (vocals drums and bass too - honestly the drums on this track fucking rule) at "don't stop if i fall" it hits you Right in the chest.

^one of the best things this band has ever written, it should be impossible for 45 seconds to be that powerful.

anyway electric guitar is such a versatile instrument on its own so with dual guitars the possibilities are endless and ray and frank are just. my favourite partnership ever i can never shut up about them. if you couldn't tell lol.

I've just ordered my first steel tongue drum (aka hank/tank drum) - a BeatRise 13" 15 note... but a Kosmosky is already my dream goal drum (which is actually an idiophone). Maybe one day when they reduce the 35% import tax to the UK!

theoretically i know how to read tab but unfortunately almost everything i know on banjo (which is the only instrument i have to use tab for) i have memorized so i kind of forgot how to read it. and standard notation (which i can sight read reasonably well) doesn't work so well for banjo so you can't typically find banjo sheet music in standard notation

okay  yeah,  he  probably  shouldn't  have  gotten  into  a  fight  where  people  might  know  who  he  is,  but  to  be  fair,  the  man  fucking  deserved  it.  decided  to  get  into  his  face,  being  pushy  and  trying  to  get  both  selfie  and  signature  was  one  thing.  but  then  proceeding  to  be  a  c  r  e  e  p  to  his  partner  and  hit  on  them  (  granted  he  didn't  know  that,  but  jiwoon  doesn't  care  about  those  details  ).

but  the  man  got  one  good  hit  in  after  jiwoon  decided  to  shove  him,  hard.  busted  lip,  but  unfortunately  for  this  man,  pain  was  a  motivator  and  jiwoon  returned  the  punch  tenfold.  causing  him  to  fall  back,  head  connecting  with  one  of  the  bar  tables.  how  pathetic!  before  he  could  do  much  else,  faye  grabbed  onto  his  hand  and  proceeded  to  drag  him  out.  oh  yeah,  they're  gonna  reprimand  him.  still  was  very  much worth  it.

pulled  into  the  back  of  the  car,  fully  ready  to  take  an  earful.  but  the  most  he  got  was  a  mouthful.  her  lips  upon  his.  a  deep  kiss.  feeling  her  tongue  run  along  his  bloodied  lip.  oh!  doesn't  that  send  delightful  shiver  up  his  spine.  kissing  her  back  eagerly,  passionately.  having  to  pry  himself  away,  but  letting  their  lips  linger  close.   ❝  How  long  have  you  been  dyin'  to  do  that  for,  my  princess?  Have  you  always  wondered  what  my  blood  tastes  like  ~  ?  ❞
