Dark Horse has announced a new comic set in the world of Netflix's Stranger Things. Stranger Things and Dungeons & Dragons: The Rise of Hellfire hails from writers Jody Houser and Eric Campbell, artist Diego Galindo, colorist Diana Sousa, and letterer Nate Piekos.

Stranger Things and Dungeons & Dragons: The Rise of Hellfire is set before season 4 of the TV series. The miniseries will explore "Eddie Munson’s rise to de facto leader of the Hellfire Club, flashbacks to the legendary campaign that got him hooked on D&D, his recruitment of Lucas, Dustin, and Mike, and glimpses into the fantasy worlds they conquered together." (Dark Horse)

Stranger Things and Dungeons & Dragons: The Rise of Hellfire #1 (of 4) goes on sale on February 19, 2025. The debut issue features covers by Magali Villanueve, Rebecca Pueblar, Jeremy Wilson, Nimit Malavia, and Kyle Lambert.

Adventures waiting in the offing

Happy pull day! The bit of Fjord fjocus in the past month continues with The Mighty Nein Origins: Fjord Stone hitting local comic shops today. To mark the release, here's a selection of articles about various people and places from Fjord's history:

Driftwood Asylum, orphanage in Port Damali where Fjord grew up. Not a great place. Children there were put to work creating wooden products and providing carpentry services.

Grankton, apparently the headmaster of the Driftwood Asylum. He was seldom mentioned during the campaign (and never by name, not until The Mighty Nein Reunited), but it is known that he has criminal ties and is an awful person.

Sabian, grew up with Fjord and sailed with him for many years aboard the merchant ship the Tide's Breath. He sabotaged the ship before vanishing to Darktow.

Vandran, captain of the Tide's Breath. He is a former warlock and pirate of the Revelry, but to Fjord, he is simply a mentor and the closest to a father he has.

Tide's Breath, merchant ship captained by Vandran. Fjord and Sabian worked aboard for many years before Sabian sent it to the bottom of the Diver's Grave shortly before the campaign.

Port Damali, Fjord's hometown. The Jewel of the Coast, the largest city in the Menagerie Coast, unofficial capital of the Clovis Concord.

The graphic novel is written by Kevin Burke and Chris Wyatt (who also together wrote a Legend of Vox Machina episode) with art by Selina Espiritu (@siriusdraws), colors by Diana Sousa (@dianasousaart), and lettering by Ariana Maher. Espiritu, Sousa, and Maher have worked previously on The Mighty Nein Origins.

Today's release is in comic shops, and it is scheduled for book stores, retailers, and digital platforms on January 10. Nott the Brave is scheduled near then, but publication conditions in the industry at large remain spotty, so keep an eye out for changes to that date.
