I hate how society is so fat phobic that people will question why someone with t2 diabetes needs a medication to control blood sugar more than their need to lose weight. Like maybe, just maybe, having an uncontrolled blood sugar of 300 is just a little more dangerous than you potentially having health problems years down the line. One is decidedly more dangerous.
#someone posted about weight loss patients buying up all the stock of a critically under supplied med for t2 diabetes#and people came out from under the rug screaming about how they must want fat people to die of future health problems#maybe they just want to prevent people from having dangerous health effects from uncontrolled blood sugar

When your horse (Fjara) decides to grab that fun little wire poking out from your pocket and won’t let go despite you begging her to and then manages to damage the infusion tube juuust enough to break down the whole system 🤣
#sort of expected it ngl#it’s not the first time she’s grabbed it#only usually she just fully pulls it from my body#(it’s a taped on infusion clip with a tiny tube that goes just beneath the first layer of skin#the pain really is just the tape being ripped off me)#now she fully had me under control like a puppet on a literal string#while on the phone with my trainer#she got that whoooole interaction lmao#*myhorses#fjara frá skjálg#t1d#actually diabetic#you know what? I’m glad she’s not figured out my CGM set yet#if it were a freestyle Libre it’d be easy enough to avoid her pulling that off#they’re flat and also very easy to get#they’re stingy with Dexcom in the Netherlands for reasons I’ve not yet been able to find out#but they’re bigger and easier to grip with big teeth#and my supply is tight lmao#that too is going to happen some day#mark my words

I think I’m dangerously close to a mental breakdown.
My daughter’s future is beyond fucked and I’m the one that brought her into the world and there’s nothing I can do to fix it for her.
I am in a near constant state of absolute terror.
#like literally what am I supposed to do#nothing about this is okay#I should be fearing for our livelihoods#will she be able to continue to get vaccines?#Will I be able to have access to my diabetes supplies?#Will she have access to an education?#Will the fact that I’m a single parent be held against me?#can they take her away from me for that?#these are NOT normal thoughts after an election

Also I heart healthcare that has suddenly started charging me a certain percentage for the diabetes supplies I need every month when I've never been charged for it. I heart getting no notification that this would be happening and just getting a bill in the mail that explains nothing
#ive been using the same diabetes supplies since i was ten and never been charged for certain things thankfully due to insurance#why in the everloving fuck is this happening now#anyway this will be my last healthcare complaint this morning i promise.

Reminiscing about my old diabetic bags </3
#smiles rambles#first diabetic bag was a black backpack#pretty big and a pain when I moved to highschool#cuz we couldn’t have backpacks on us first 4 years#it fell to pieces and smelled like pads by the time I went through it#then I got this awesom leather bag#which I really love and held together great#I just wanted a new one for college#which I didn’t like the other one#not enough pockets. the straps were bad#and overall a pain#next one was a camel pack which was great for hiking#and I really liked it#had a lot of spare#but carrying a backpack is inconvenient#i got a Lu Lu lemon bag for Christmas and because I no longer use the omnipod classic#k can fit my diabetic supplies in there#which not the ones I need can fit in there#don’t have a meter or syringes or anything#but it’s much nicer for quick trips#which I don’t really need all that stuff#if I need a longer trip I bring the rest of the stuff#but yeah#fun times#those bags went through it fr#diabetes talk
