#Devil's tooth mushroom

I check on Objectified due to Crave being released today and with knowing what seems to be the new update pattern, went over to check, and there really is a new Mushroom and Dynamite episode coming this month! And I took like, I think, one look, and thought:

"Yup, they're dead."

Despite only reading up to the first two episodes and planning on reading the third episode (the first Mushroom and Dynamite episode 😁) probably the day before the first day of Thanksgiving Break, from what I've looked at as I got more and more interested, Razor and Gum, Brandy, Minty, and Sugar Cube, and MUSHROOM AND DYNAMITE have become the groups I've come to be the most interested in, and been the most curious and excited whenever new episodes around them come out, and lemme say, something is telling me and I am convinced ONE OF THEM IS GOING TO DIE. (And by "one of them" I mean the fluffy one...you know who I'm talking about)

And "Take a bite." already got me thinking.

Also, I LOVE how Mushroom's droplets have frozen due to the cold weather, AND how they came out!

Bleeding Tooth

Demonic week of Funguary is here, and what is more demonic of a fungi than bleeding tooth? The answer's none 😈

It has such a otherworldly quality to it, equally captivating and unsettling, and I had so much fun coming up with a way to bring it to life as a portrait!

Mushroom, darling, are you alright?

You know, looking at this sneak peek, it reminded me...

...Mushroom can re-grow if she dies from unnatural causes, such as being killed, from what I've seen, but as for a natural death...like perhaps decaying...

...It looks like fungi, like Mushroom (duh) is, which probably represents something. Perhaps it could be Mycelium, which Mushroom has, that's very interesting to me, but it also looks like fungi starting to be frozen...or spiked...

...Mushroom's droplets have also been frozen, and whatever happening, it looks like something is bothering her.

I'm more convinced that of anything, since she's already died at one point, if anything bad happens to them again, (which I feel like will, they just give me doomed friendship losing each other in the apocalypse despite all their efforts to help each other vibes,) the Jaguar's dying, if you know what I'm saying. (I heard Chester even joked about killing him off if something, which could just be a joke, but again...) But I definitely don't want them to abandon the re-growth process Mushroom has, and how she literally DIED at one point, and given this promotional picture, it's starting to make me think it's not unlikely that something bad might happen to Mushroom again. I just hope they don't abandon Dynamite's problems either.

...Man I need to catch up cause I'm really invested in these two's story.

The 'bleeding tooth fungus' in the new HBO series 'The Penguin' . . .

It is literally Hydnellum peckii a.k.a devil's tooth fungus, or, well it is based on it . . .

Visually they are pretty much the same, but in 'The Penguin' the 'bleeding tooth fungus' has psychoactive properties, which is why they are used for drugs. The actual Hydnellum peckii does not have psychoactive properties, it does however have other medically relevant compounds.

In my post about Hydenllum peckii, I wrote:

" The red sap contains a chemical compound called atromentin, which has anticoagulant properties and is commonly used to help prevent blood clots from forming. The pigment-producing compound found in several fungi species, atromenin also acts as a smooth muscle stimulant and has antibacterial and antineoplastic (anticancer) properties. "
