Numbers 27: God Tells Moses To Give Zelophehad's Daughters His Property And Their Inheritance
1 The daughters of Zelophehad son of Hepher, the son of Gilead, the son of Makir, the son of Manasseh, belonged to the clans of Manasseh son of Joseph. The names of the daughters were Mahlah, Noah, Hoglah, Milkah and Tirzah. They came forward
2 and stood before Moses, Eleazar the priest, the leaders and the whole assembly at the entrance to the tent of meeting and said,
3 “Our father died in the wilderness. He was not among Korah’s followers, who banded together against the Lord, but he died for his own sin and left no sons.
4 Why should our father’s name disappear from his clan because he had no son? Give us property among our father’s relatives.”
5 So Moses brought their case before the Lord,
6 and the Lord said to him,
7 “What Zelophehad’s daughters are saying is right. You must certainly give them property as an inheritance among their father’s relatives and give their father’s inheritance to them.
8 “Say to the Israelites, ‘If a man dies and leaves no son, give his inheritance to his daughter.
9 If he has no daughter, give his inheritance to his brothers.
10 If he has no brothers, give his inheritance to his father’s brothers.
11 If his father had no brothers, give his inheritance to the nearest relative in his clan, that he may possess it. This is to have the force of law for the Israelites, as the Lord commanded Moses.’”
Joshua to Succeed Moses
12 Then the Lord said to Moses, “Go up this mountain in the Abarim Range and see the land I have given the Israelites.
13 After you have seen it, you too will be gathered to your people, as your brother Aaron was,
14 for when the community rebelled at the waters in the Desert of Zin, both of you disobeyed my command to honor me as holy before their eyes.” (These were the waters of Meribah Kadesh, in the Desert of Zin.)
15 Moses said to the Lord,
16 “May the Lord, the God who gives breath to all living things, appoint someone over this community
17 to go out and come in before them, one who will lead them out and bring them in, so the Lord’s people will not be like sheep without a shepherd.”
18 So the Lord said to Moses, “Take Joshua son of Nun, a man in whom is the spirit of leadership, and lay your hand on him.
19 Have him stand before Eleazar the priest and the entire assembly and commission him in their presence.
20 Give him some of your authority so the whole Israelite community will obey him.
21 He is to stand before Eleazar the priest, who will obtain decisions for him by inquiring of the Urim before the Lord. At his command he and the entire community of the Israelites will go out, and at his command they will come in.”
22 Moses did as the Lord commanded him. He took Joshua and had him stand before Eleazar the priest and the whole assembly.
23 Then he laid his hands on him and commissioned him, as the Lord instructed through Moses.

"The Things You Do For Love"
Zin Desert, Israel
"Looks like the set for the next Mission Impossible, but for Nubian Ibexes, the high-altitude rocky terrains are home. The vulnerable ibex species is known for many things–large semi-circular horns, the ability to scale mountains with ease and the territorial fights that males engage in during the rutting season. Displays of dominance begin with showing off their impressive horns. If that doesn't do the trick, it's time to escalate by pushing and shoving the opponent and literally locking horns with them. Ibexes also stand on their hind legs as they get ready to strike."

🔅 Friday - ISRAEL REALTIME - Connecting to Israel in Realtime
Erev Shabbat - Parshat (Torah Portion) Chukas - Numbers 19:2 - Moses is taught the laws of the red heifer. After forty years of journeying through the desert, the people of Israel arrive in the wilderness of Zin. Miriam dies, and the people thirst for water. G‑d tells Moses to speak to a rock and command it to give water. Moses gets angry at the rebellious Israelites and strikes the stone. Water issues forth, but Moses is told by G‑d that neither he nor Aaron will enter the Promised Land.
▪️US “WILL NOT PROVIDE” (more) 2,000 lb BOMBS TO ISRAEL.. US President Joe Biden: “I know all this criticism about how I wouldn’t provide the weapons they needed. I’m not providing the 2000-lb bombs. They cannot be used in Gaza or any populated area without causing great human tragedy and damage” (Times of Israel)
(( Hezbollah and Iran get to use any size bombs they want against Israel. But the US knows best on how Israel should defend itself. And if Israel doesn’t have the accurate and right sized munitions it needs to defend its citizens from MASS SLAUGHTER, what do they think is going to happen? Because the options are: (1) Israel will roll over and die, allowing the Jews to be mass raped tortured murdered, or (2) stop being more accurate and safe, and fire the unspoken weapons. But sure, block Israel from getting the bombs they need. ))

Since they were kids, Kit and Zinnia had a tight knit friend group with whom they often hung out at the Desert Bloom Park. After meeting Penelope and immediately hitting it off with her, Zinnia invited Penelope to join them and Penelope eagerly accepted. She never really had friends growing up and she visible enjoyed spending time with everyone. But whenever she could, she'd team up with Kit for an activity. Making homework together, having a ping pong match or whatever.
In time, it became a running joke amongst Billy Ray and Ezra to interrupt Kit and Penelope in whatever they were doing, just to see Kit try his best to remain casual and friendly, but trying to make whoever talked to him move on to something else.
When Zinnia commented to Elisabeth about those antics, Elisabeth shrugged and giggled. "Zin, your brother is obviously in love with her and she with him. They should just make a move. The boys wil continue to tease until they do." Zinnia shook her head. "I don't think Kit realises it, to be honest." Elisabeth gave Zinnia a conspiring look. "Maybe... we should give them a tiny push?"
---
I SWEAR I didn't realise I had styled the friends to match so perfectly when I gave them their makeovers. Only when I posed them for the group photo, did I notice. Oh well, in the end, they were all made for each other 😂

It’s common knowledge that the shadow National Unity Government (NUG) and various other anti-junta groups have spent a lot of money (which they really lack) paying for officials and their families to defect. By some accounts, $500,000 is the largest of such “rewards.” Additional money is on offer for defectors who leave with intelligence or military equipment. Last August, the NUG openly called for defectors to bring anti-aircraft weapons as the military increased its use of air attacks, the latest specter of which was seen last weekend with the murder of potentially 100 people in Sagaing Region.
Naturally, those defectors need to get out of the country, which relies on the support of foreigners. And, clearly, the NUG reckons it’s the next best thing those foreigners could do if they’re going to continue to refuse to arm or financially support the NUG. “We asked [foreign governments], if you can’t assist us with arms, please accept defectors because it’s also supporting the revolution in another way,” Zin Mar Aung, the NUG’s foreign minister, told The Irrawaddy newspaper last year. She went on: “Luckily this was accepted by Australia. And there are also some countries which are welcoming defectors, but not publicly.”
A NUG official told your columnist that they think hundreds, if not thousands, of more people would defect or desert their positions if they believed their safety would be guaranteed in a foreign country, chiefly one in the West. “We have a lot of defectors who are waiting for us to give the green light, to guarantee them resettlement abroad and financial support,” I was informed. The NUG asserted in January that nearly 3,000 soldiers and 7,000 police officers have defected since the coup. However, Voice of America reported the same month that the rate of defections is slowing, which a support organization put down to the tightening of restrictions by the junta, especially on family members. One senses that it may also be down to a lack of money.
[...]
None of this is particularly moral, but neither was it during the Second World War, when German soldiers and Nazi party members defected and were admitted by the Allies when Jews were barred from entry, as well as during the Cold War. It would be a policy that benefits potential murderers (or collaborators, at best) over the million-or-so Rohingya refugees eking out life in Bangladesh. Would most Britons or Germans or Americans support a policy? Probably not. But, like supporting defections, neither are sanctions supposed to be devices that reflect the ethics of the sanctioner, despite some Western politicians now thinking of them as principled ends in themselves (or, at their worst, necessary virtue signaling).

Numbers 20: God Tells Moses And Aaron To Speak To The Rock To Bring Forth Water For The Israelites
1 In the first month the whole Israelite community arrived at the Desert of Zin, and they stayed at Kadesh. There Miriam died and was buried.
2 Now there was no water for the community, and the people gathered in opposition to Moses and Aaron.
3 They quarreled with Moses and said, “If only we had died when our brothers fell dead before the Lord!
4 Why did you bring the Lord’s community into this wilderness, that we and our livestock should die here?
5 Why did you bring us up out of Egypt to this terrible place? It has no grain or figs, grapevines or pomegranates. And there is no water to drink!”
6 Moses and Aaron went from the assembly to the entrance to the tent of meeting and fell facedown, and the glory of the Lord appeared to them.
7 The Lord said to Moses,
8 “Take the staff, and you and your brother Aaron gather the assembly together. Speak to that rock before their eyes and it will pour out its water. You will bring water out of the rock for the community so they and their livestock can drink.”
9 So Moses took the staff from the Lord’s presence, just as he commanded him.
10 He and Aaron gathered the assembly together in front of the rock and Moses said to them, “Listen, you rebels, must we bring you water out of this rock?”
11 Then Moses raised his arm and struck the rock twice with his staff. Water gushed out, and the community and their livestock drank.
12 But the Lord said to Moses and Aaron, “Because you did not trust in me enough to honor me as holy in the sight of the Israelites, you will not bring this community into the land I give them.”
13 These were the waters of Meribah, where the Israelites quarreled with the Lord and where he was proved holy among them.
Edom Denies Israel Passage
14 Moses sent messengers from Kadesh to the king of Edom, saying:
“This is what your brother Israel says: You know about all the hardships that have come on us.
15 Our ancestors went down into Egypt, and we lived there many years. The Egyptians mistreated us and our ancestors,
16 but when we cried out to the Lord, he heard our cry and sent an angel and brought us out of Egypt.
“Now we are here at Kadesh, a town on the edge of your territory.
17 Please let us pass through your country. We will not go through any field or vineyard, or drink water from any well. We will travel along the King’s Highway and not turn to the right or to the left until we have passed through your territory.”
18 But Edom answered:
“You may not pass through here; if you try, we will march out and attack you with the sword.”
19 The Israelites replied:
“We will go along the main road, and if we or our livestock drink any of your water, we will pay for it. We only want to pass through on foot—nothing else.”
20 Again they answered:
“You may not pass through.”
Then Edom came out against them with a large and powerful army.
21 Since Edom refused to let them go through their territory, Israel turned away from them.
The Death of Aaron
22 The whole Israelite community set out from Kadesh and came to Mount Hor.
23 At Mount Hor, near the border of Edom, the Lord said to Moses and Aaron,
24 “Aaron will be gathered to his people. He will not enter the land I give the Israelites, because both of you rebelled against my command at the waters of Meribah.
25 Get Aaron and his son Eleazar and take them up Mount Hor.
26 Remove Aaron’s garments and put them on his son Eleazar, for Aaron will be gathered to his people; he will die there.”
27 Moses did as the Lord commanded: They went up Mount Hor in the sight of the whole community.
28 Moses removed Aaron’s garments and put them on his son Eleazar. And Aaron died there on top of the mountain. Then Moses and Eleazar came down from the mountain,
29 and when the whole community learned that Aaron had died, all the Israelites mourned for him thirty days.

Life on the Edge
Nubian ibexes (Capra nubiana) live on the knife edge of survival, in deserts with scant vegetation and harsh climates. They also live at the literal edge of cliffs. Males of the species grow backward-curving horns that can be more than a metre (up to four feet) long. They use these impressive weapons to defend against predators and to compete with others for breeding rights, as photographer Amit Eshel captured in this image of two clashing males in Israel’s Zin Desert.

THE SIN OF MOSES AND AARON -- KJV (King James Version) Bible Verse List #Scriptures #BibleStudy #BibleVerses Visit https://www.billkochman.com/VerseLists/ to see more. "And all the congregation of the children of Israel journeyed from the wilderness of Sin, after their journeys, according to the commandment of the LORD, and pitched in Rephidim: and there was no water for the people to drink. Wherefore the people did chide with Moses, and said, Give us water that we may drink. And Moses said unto them, Why chide ye with me? wherefore do ye tempt the LORD? And the people thirsted there for water; and the people murmured against Moses, and said, Wherefore is this that thou hast brought us up out of Egypt, to kill us and our children and our cattle with thirst? And Moses cried unto the LORD, saying, What shall I do unto this people? they be almost ready to stone me. And the LORD said unto Moses, Go on before the people, and take with thee of the elders of Israel; and thy rod, wherewith thou smotest the river, take in thine hand, and go. Behold, I will stand before thee there upon the rock in Horeb; and thou shalt smite the rock, and there shall come water out of it, that the people may drink. And Moses did so in the sight of the elders of Israel. And he called the name of the place Massah, and Meribah, because of the chiding of the children of Israel, and because they tempted the LORD, saying, Is the LORD among us, or not?" Exodus 17:1-6, KJV "Then came the children of Israel, even the whole congregation, into the desert of Zin in the first month: and the people abode in Kadesh; and Miriam died there, and was buried there. And there was no water for the congregation: and they gathered themselves together against Moses and against Aaron. And the people chode with Moses, and spake, saying, Would God that we had died when our brethren died before the LORD! And why have ye brought up the congregation of the LORD into this wilderness, that we and our cattle should die there? And wherefore have ye made us to come up out of Egypt, to bring us in unto this evil place? it is no place of seed, or of figs, or of vines, or of pomegranates; neither is there any water to drink. And Moses and Aaron went from the presence of the assembly unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, and they fell upon their faces: and the glory of the LORD appeared unto them. And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, Take the rod, and gather thou the assembly together, thou, and Aaron thy brother, and speak ye unto the rock before their eyes; and it shall give forth his water, and thou shalt bring forth to them water out of the rock: so thou shalt give the congregation and their beasts drink. And Moses took the rod from before the LORD, as he commanded him. And Moses and Aaron gathered the congregation together before the rock, and he said unto them, Hear now, ye rebels; must we fetch you water out of this rock? And Moses lifted up his hand, and with his rod he smote the rock twice: and the water came out abundantly, and the congregation drank, and their beasts also. And the LORD spake unto Moses and Aaron, Because ye believed me not, to sanctify me in the eyes of the children of Israel, therefore ye shall not bring this congregation into the land which I have given them. This is the water of Meribah; because the children of Israel strove with the LORD, and he was sanctified in them . . . And the LORD spake unto Moses and Aaron in mount Hor, by the coast of the land of Edom, saying, Aaron shall be gathered unto his people: for he shall not enter into the land which I have given unto the children of Israel, because ye rebelled against my word at the water of Meribah." Numbers 20:1-13, 23-24, KJV "And the LORD said unto Moses, Get thee up into this mount Abarim, and see the land which I have given unto the children of Israel. And when thou hast seen it, thou also shalt be gathered unto thy people, as Aaron thy brother was gathered. For ye rebelled against my commandment in the desert of Zin, in the strife of the congregation, to sanctify me at the water before their eyes: that is the water of Meribah in Kadesh in the wilderness of Zin." Numbers 27:12-14, KJV "And the LORD spake unto Moses that selfsame day, saying, Get thee up into this mountain Abarim, unto mount Nebo, which is in the land of Moab, that is over against Jericho; and behold the land of Canaan, which I give unto the children of Israel for a possession: And die in the mount whither thou goest up, and be gathered unto thy people; as Aaron thy brother died in mount Hor, and was gathered unto his people: Because ye trespassed against me among the children of Israel at the waters of Meribah-Kadesh, in the wilderness of Zin; because ye sanctified me not in the midst of the children of Israel. Yet thou shalt see the land before thee; but thou shalt not go thither unto the land which I give the children of Israel." Deuteronomy 32:48-52, KJV "They angered him also at the waters of strife, so that it went ill with Moses for their sakes: Because they provoked his spirit, so that he spake unadvisedly with his lips." Psalm 106:32-33, KJV "Thou calledst in trouble, and I delivered thee; I answered thee in the secret place of thunder: I proved [tested] thee at the waters of Meribah. Selah." Bom dia
porquanto no deserto de Zim, na contenda da congregação, fostes rebeldes à minha palavra, não me santificando diante dos seus olhos, no tocante às águas (estas são as águas de Meribá de Cades, no deserto de Zim). Respondeu Moisés ao Senhor: Que o senhor, Deus dos espíritos de toda a carne, ponha um homem sobre a congregação, o qual saia diante deles e entre diante deles, e os faça sair e os faça entrar; para que a congregação do Senhor não seja como ovelhas que não têm pastor. Então disse o Senhor a Moisés: Toma a Josué, filho de Num, homem em quem há o Espírito, e impõe-lhe a mão;
Números 27:14-18
For ye rebelled against my commandment in the desert of Zin, in the strife of the congregation, to sanctify me at the water before their eyes: that is the water of Meribah in Kadesh in the wilderness of Zin. And Moses spake unto the LORD, saying, Let the LORD, the God of the spirits of all flesh, set a man over the congregation, Which may go out before them, and which may go in before them, and which may lead them out, and which may bring them in; that the congregation of the LORD be not as sheep which have no shepherd. And the LORD said unto Moses, Take thee Joshua the son of Nun, a man in whom is the spirit, and lay thine hand upon him;
