Something I find interesting related to the Sub Zero Emperor / Galuna Island arc is that they tell us that demons can't even get close to the Moon Temple. But that's not completely true...
Because Etherious can get close to the Temple and they are also classified as demons. So it must be only normal demons that can't get near it. After all Natsu was clearly able to get into the Temple. I would also argue that it can't just be chalked up to whether or not Mashima decided to have Natsu actually be a demon when the arc was created, because Deliora was arguably closer to the temple than any of the demon villagers ever got. Deliora is also an Etherious literally known as the "Demon of Destruction."
Makes me wonder about demon classifications. Like I guess Mirajane and Minerva might still be able to get into the Temple despite having more demonic essence than the average human. Since their demonic essence is more compared to or related to Etherious than the Galuna demons.
Anyway I just thought it was interesting that natural demons have "too much darkness" and therefore can't go to holy lands but artificial demons like Etherious are some how fine?

Random Lamia headcanons
So these are things I made up about the Lamia squad if anyone ever decides to use any of these for a fic just let me know so I can read it 😋.
Yuka has an ugly burn scar on his back from when a building fell on him during Deliora’s attack but he never lets anyone see it. Only ones that have seen it are Lyon, Toby, Sherry, Jura and Obaba
That Lyon’s team had to do a ton of odd jobs both legal and illegal up northeast to get enough money to get a boat big enough to transport Deliora.
Lyon has a lot of people that resent him from up north because he used to hunt down every enemy that Ur has ever fought and was a little asshole about it and has even had some that had tried to attack him out of revenge down in fiore only to be beaten easily. (He keeps this a secret from Gray)
When Toby Yuka and Sherry arrived at Lamia Scale only Yuka spoke there language so he had to be a translator for the other two. Jura tried to learn it but Yuka being a little sh*t would teach him the wrong words and make Sherry and Toby laugh at him constantly. When around a year later when Jura had found out that Fairy tail had someone that understood Isvan he had requested Makarov asked the boy to send a list of common words for Jura to use. (Years later he wondered why he didn’t just have the kids meet may have prevented a lot of issues.
Jura spoils Sherry rotten it hasn't changed from when she was little only issue was that Chelia managed to join in.
(This is based off a fairy tail character sheet that Sherry hates water) When Deliora attacked the three lives in a town near a harbor and she has been knocked into the freezing cold water hearing the sounds of Deliora’s cries and was luckily rescued but ever since then she had a huge fear of water that lasted for years until she hit her teens, but it resurfaced again for a little while after her fight with Aquarius.
Theres a shop in Margaret that sells authentic Isvan food thanks to Sherry teaching the recipes properly so she gets to eat there for free.
It took a long time for other Lamia scale mages to get used to Lyon. They resented him for taking away the mages that they knew since they were kids and he always had a cold condescending attitude. But after he saved a member who had been the biggest disliker of Lyon on a mission despite getting hurt himself opinions slowly changed especially after Lyon lightened up.
When Chelia first entered the guild she did the same thing Wendy did and tripped and face planted and cried. Still gets teased about it to this day.
When Jura left for the council Lyon basically became second in command having to control the more wild guild members doing paperwork because Baabaa hated doing it organizing events but not a single member was surprised by this.
Lyon has comforted all three of his friends on panic attacks from Deliora on separate occasions but has never let them see any time he has.
(This one I actually made into a request fic by Mnemosyne's Elegy) that Lyon actually was the one that had to cut Ur’s leg off
The first time they ever took Lyon to a beach Toby Sherry and Yuka all would remind Lyon every 30 minutes to put on sunscreen because they all had a bad sunburn experience in the past when they had come to Fiore the first time
Well that’s all I can think about for now I’ll come up with some more when I can find them. Don’t know how many people will read this but worth a shot!

So I mentioned this to @spot-of-tea a little while ago; I have an idea for any Fairy Tail fanfic authors who want some inspiration.
We all remember the Gray and Lyon vs Ur fight in the final season/arc, yeah? The one where Neinheart basically resurrected Ur and made her fight her boys. Well I love a good 'emotionally fraught battle' and 'the students surpass their mentor' moment, but for some reason that fight felt just a touch lackluster to me. Gray by that point has surpassed Ur and then some, he even points this out and admits the battle they're fighting will be more helpful to Lyon's growth than his own.
Personally, I feel like it would've been more intense and fulfilling if Lyon beat Ur by himself. Oh- but Konami stan, who would Gray have to fight? You can't just throw Lyon to the wolves and not do anything with Gray! You are absolutely right! And do you know what would give Gray the same push forward in character/personal growth as Lyon? Killing Deliora in one-on-one combat.
Zeref wrote his Etherios into books, sealing their souls into the tomes and making their bodies out of raw magic power ( also called Ether). I have always seen Lullaby and Deliora as Etherios too (I have some Thoughts™ about Lullaby and the 'seal' that Kageyama broke back in season 1, but that's a rant for another post.), and being Etherios when their bodies are destroyed they return to their books, right? In order for the aforementioned fight to play out Deliora's book would need to be lost, as in not being kept in Tartaros because we all know how that turns out.
If Deliora's book were lost and unsealed that opens the door for that monster to make reoccurring appearances throughout the entire series. So long as the book in intact (I'm not saying it was kept intact in canon, this is just a scenario for anyone to use if they want to) then Deliora and Lullaby both could've come back.
NOW- imagine Neinheart getting his hands on Deliora's book, or maybe Zeref gave it to him knowing Neinheart isn't his strongest pawn but a resourceful one all the same. Neinheart still summons Ur to fight The Boys™, but Neinheart isn't satisfied with just one woman on par with the Ten Wizard Saints- no, he wants to ensure victory by any means necessary. So he opens the book, his trump-card, and unleashed the Demon of Destruction.
Deliora rampages immediately, ruthelessly killing anything that moves (Neinheart having the book could probably order it not to kill the Alvarez soldiers), which leaves the boys in a predicament. The town is being ruined, good people are dying, and Ur is fighting on the wrong side of this war- someone has to stop her but someone also has to stop Deliora. The only one with Devil Slayer magic knows what he's gotta do. Gray is able to kill Deliora with the magic inherited from his father, he gets his vengeance for himself and everyone Deliora stole from him (his parents, Ur, and by technicality Lyon since he spent/wasted years of his life thawing it out using Moon Drip), Gray has won but Lyon is still fighting.
Lyon beats Ur one-on-one succeeding his master by himself, truly no one can ever dispute his accomplishment now. He didn't need to rely on Gray but now he's exhausted and his magic power are waning (probably), I'd imagine Lyon transferring as much of his magic power as he safely can to Gray in order to finish off Neinheart but I dunno. I don't actually remember how that battle ended. Did Gray and Lyon beat him? Or was it Jellal? I'm pretty sure it was Jellal, but I don't know.
It's out of my hands now! Go, run wild, make your fanfics people- cuz I'm sure as hell not going to! So you get my ideas, I get your fanfics, yeah? Okay, good talk.

ICE MAKER MAGIC & GRAY'S STYLE
Tumblr media
MAKER MAGIC IS KNOWN FOR ITS CREATIVITY AND FREEDOM. In terms of magics its one of the most versatile ones out there, with the only real limits being the caster's imagination and their magic power. With it's ability to range from static every day items to gigantic, life like creations, and to be based in almost any element imaginable, it's easy to see the appeal of such a kind of magic.
WHILE ITS THE MOST PREVALENT TYPE WE SEE IN THE SERIES, ICE MAKER MAGIC ISN'T ALL THAT COMMON. Most maker magics tend to focus on more solid and sustainable elements, such as wood or iron, mainly due to their more practical uses in daily life. The only Ice Make users we see in the series all have connection to the same person: Ur, be it as blood relation or being her student, which is why the canon has a larger population of Ice Make users than other types of Maker Magics. However, in terms of the world at large, it's not very commonly seen, and is often associated with the northern kingdoms, due to their colder climates. When Gray had first arrived in to Fairy Tail, many of the older mages were fascinated by the mere idea of an ice based maker magic, and most of them pieced together themselves where Gray had originally called home.
FOR A MAGIC SO ROOTED IN CREATIVITY, A STYLE LIKE GRAY'S IS ALMOST CONFUSING, ESPECIALLY CONSIDERING WHO HE LEARNED FROM. Ur had an unparalleled mastery of the craft, and was able to create truly breathtaking spells with such ease, all seeming to fall under her botanical motif. Her ability to make devastating attacks look like the most gentle aspects of nature was truly awe inspiring, and she encouraged her students to find their own styles. Lyon took this and perfected the animated style, leaning more towards animals. He had also taken to an aspect of nature, embracing the creatures that roamed it and honed that as his art. But Gray? Gray had been very practical with what he created. There was no influence of nature, no creative spin, instead rather cut and dry with what he wanted. Even other Maker Magic users such as Laki have a creative spin to their magic, but not Gray. Ever blunt as to what he wants his magic to make and what it should be, leaving very little room for a creative spin or alteration on it. His very straight forward take is due to his reason for learning the magic in the first place.
GRAY LEARNED MAKER MAGIC FOR ONE REASON AND ONE REASON ONLY. COMBAT. Gray had become Ur's student solely for the purpose of fighting Deliora and avenging his family, and thus only ever saw the magic as a tool. In his youth, Gray never truly allowed himself to see the beauty in his magic, the freedom it possessed, instead only seeing it as a means to an end. As he learned, he was very cut and dry with what he wanted, because he didn't believe he had the time to add the flourishes and uniqueness typically carried by those who use the magic. This was a tool and nothing more, so what he created would reflect that. While Lyon would summon a swarm of birds, Gray would go the more practical route and fire off arrows or spears. When Ur would create a beautiful rose bloom to protect herself, Gray would skip straight to its purpose, a simple shield instead. Gray had refused to let him personality and self thrive through his magic when he was learning it, far too wrapped up in his desire for revenge and the grief that haunted him that the prospect of truly making his magic his own was something that never crossed his mind. It wouldn't be til almost a decade later, after facing his past head on and coming out the other end mostly unscathed would Gray begin to let his magic begin to reflect himself. Instead of the most basic forms of what he needed, the weapons he would create would start to be more intricate and details. What use to be plain blades would now be much more intricate, but equally as deadly. His basic bows would now be adorned with decorative aspects, in no means interfering with their purpose, but displaying an elegance equal to their strength. It was a subtle change, something most people would miss, but for those who knew the Ice Mage, they could see his true colors finally shining through with each spell he cast.

last januari i started off the year by watching the entire fairy tail franchise again - no skipping in the episodes to reach my favourite parts, no skipping to move forward the stories that gets repeated (even though half of the episodes is recap and the rest of them are new but dragged out scenes) (fr tho why did they make the episodes like that the latter half of the series)
i might do something like that again - this time i’ll allow myself to skip recaps and such, but i’ll try to watch the fights that i’m not generally interested in. every time i watch fairy tail i learn and understand something new, and every time i find myself understanding the depth of the villains and heroes, the impact they have on each other etc.
i want to understand lisanna, jellal and loke more this rewatch. i feel like i’m often biased when i watch their moments, and that doesn’t feel fair since they’re important for many of my favourite characters
(i also wanna get a grip on natsu’s character again - sometimes i don’t recognise him in the 100yq but that might be due to me accidentally switching him with some fan-made version that i’ve read about, so natsu is one that i wanna grasp)

Silver's Demon Form.
Tumblr media
At the start of Tartaros arc, there's a conversation between Silver and Kyouka about Silver opting to appear in human form, and not demon form. Despite being originally human, like all demons in the Nine Demon Gates Silver factually has a demon form; and that is Deliora. As opposed to the other Nine, him switching between his Etherious and human form isn't a true form reveal as much as it's simple transformation magic. In essence, with the exception of Keyes (and possibly Mard Geer), Silver fools the entire Nine Demon Gates cast into thinking he actually is Deliora in Silver's disguise, while the reverse is true.
However, Silver's immense hate for demons is a running theme all the while. He doesn't need to use this form at all - in fact, it effectively requiring magic is actually a hindrance to switch into. But, his feelings having kept him active for over 17 years is partially thanks to having an Etherious disguise, in the form of the demon responsible for his own and his wife's death. Silver amps himself up to stay alive using Deliora's image, and at the same time fools his peers into believing him to be a bonafide demon.

fairy tail characters who are non-human bc i said so ⬇️
obviously not including canonical non human characters like the exceeds and the spirits
All the dragonslayers, though they are human based
would include zeref here bc he’s a dragonslayer in my rewrite, but his curse keeps him from physically changing/developing any dragon seeds, so he’s still 100% human
Natsu in general because he’s a demon
Erza is part dragon in my rewrite
The Strauss Sibs, but again, they are human based
really love the idea of Take Over mages becoming what they take over, so yeah. They each have characteristics based on their respective magics.
Evergreen is part faerie in my rewrite, a descendant of the Tenroujima clan of Faeries
which is why her wings are real in my rewrite
Millianna thanks to experimentation in the TOH, she is half cat
Toby from Lamia Scale! He’s a lycan from a village that was destroyed by Deliora
Minerva is a demon
Gray is part demon because of his Devil Slayer magic

that really interesting post that's going around got me thinking and sort of made me realize that i never made a post about my feelings on the scene where Lucy rewrote the Book of E.N.D., so here goes:
i always thought the part where she's holding this book, realizing this is Natsu and just hugs it and bursts into tears was one of the best moments in the whole series. not even just one of the best nalu moments, one of the best moments overall.
because we saw time and time again how much senseless suffering Zeref or whatever people chose to glean from his existence caused. Lucy watched the Lullaby Flute try to kill all of her friends and the entire Magic Council, saw the Tower of Heaven--the R-System Zeref had conceptualized and which had been built in his name--fall. She bore witness to the pain Deliora caused one of her closest friends. She and all her friends almost died at the hands of a group of fanatics willing to do anything to see Zeref awaken. Her future self died in her own arms thanks to schemes which revolved around the Eclipse Gate, which she would later learn had helped to end her mother's life. On the brink of dying and losing everyone she loved at the hands of Tartaros, she was forced to break Aquarius's key.
And in the midst of a brutal and destructive war Zeref waged, she learned about the Book of E.N.D. Here it was, this final act of senselessness and--in a way--the cause of all of it nothing more than a damaged book in her hands. everything, every vile act justified using Zeref, all the horrible things he personally did or indirectly caused, all of the suffering...it all led right up to this moment. and more than evil, it was tragic: Natsu's boundless life and Natsu's inevitable death, apparently captured in ink and paper, inextricably intertwined with all the pain all of them had faced along the way.
what words were there even left to say? except the ones Lucy spoke:
"This book...how could this one book contain Natsu's life? He's more than that! Natsu's special...but he's still a person just like us! So how..."
and in rewriting the book, adding all their memories to his story, she saved him and proved once and for all what the adventure she shared with the family who chose her, what all the pain they'd been through together had taught her: that love can overcome death.

this is a list of moments where natsu is smart (and then some, i couldn't stop myself) (episodes from 17 to 32)
- when fighting zalty, upon learning about time arc, deduced that it does not work on people, which ultear elaborated as it not working on any living matter
- when deliora started to crumble, caught on that this damage was not done by him
- when our team returned to the now fully undamaged village, natsu figured that that must be work of time arc
- when sherry and yuka came to village, natsu quickly told erza that yuka's magic can cancel out other's magic (in comparison, lucy told that sherry's magic is controlling trees and stones, like, girl, didn't she explicitly said that she can make puppets out of everything, excluding humans?)
- (on another note, in the episode where natsu, lucy, happy, gray, erza and loki's bodies and souls got shuffled, how did natsu managed to read that spell? it was in an ancient language that gave even levy trouble)
- i mean, even when he turned out mistaken, he recognised happy's egg as dragon's egg, because it had slash-like markings (like, we don't know how exactly dragon eggs look like, so it's a fifty-fifty chance that he was right)
- (on yet another note, makarov saying that you can't hatch an egg with magic? and that in general for there to be life there supposed to be love? it falls pretty in place as to how natsu himself was revived by zeref. after all, zeref genuinely loved natsu, and thats how he managed to revive him in the first place. if he held no love, then natsu would've still be dead after attack on his village. damned stubborn dragneels, amirite?)
- (also, i'm probably being delusional, but aren't first arcs strangely and loosely correlate with natsu's backstory? like, with macao being taken-over by vulcan = how zeref was consumed by his curse? or maybe how they searched for macao, when he was in their sight all along = igneel actually being sealed in natsu's soul, when natsu searched for him all around fiore? and daybreak book being saved by lucy from being destroyed and figuring out secret message from it = lucy being the one who rewrote e.n.d. book thus saving natsu from dying? yep, i'm being delusional-)
- figured that it was gajeel behind the attack on guild hall and team shadow gear (which is, like, okay, for us its obvious, but gajeel seemed surprised when natsu said that, did he really thought so low about natsu that he won't figure it out?)
- (have you fucking seen him when he overheard that lucy was taken by phantom lord? my boy was going to smoke that goon right then and there, he is down bad-)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
- (he was SO going to go back to beating the shit out of phantom lord, nevermind his injured guildmates and master and order from erza to retreat, but the moment he saw lucy cry and starting apologising and blaming herself, HE FUCKING FOLDED LIKE A PRETZEL, my boy is down bad)
- went to destroy jupiter before it accumulated power for another shot, which is honestly a solid plan
- when fighting totomaru, under the guise of letting out a roar, managed to spit on totomaru (which is... i don't know if it was intentionally planned or not, it could go either way, but i think the first variant is way funnier)
- managed to redirect totomaru's sword at the giant lacrima, and when he figured out how to fight totomaru by spreading his flames further even if they are under control and how to make them not susceptible to the control itself, got a fluke shot at totomaru that actually went flying into sword in lacrima, which was his target to begin with
- (onto yet another note, what was your fucking plan lisanna? hope that your words alone would reach elfman? without any kind of back-up plan, or at least some thought put into evading him in case he attacks, or measures to defend yourself? you are stupidly lucky that anima picked you up)
- when fighting gajeel, dissipated his roar with bare hands, wild
- when he heard that gajeel's dragon also dissapeared, he quickly connected it with igneel's dissapearence too

Fairy Tail Headcanons pt 3:
Chelia was so tiny during the deliora attack that she doesn't actually remember anything about it. Sherry is very thankful for that
Loke and Natsu both knew the other wasn’t human because of the body switching episode. Neither said anything. Mostly out of confusion
Elfman is the best hypeman. That man loves supporting his friends
Mira and Erza still have a rivalry. It’s not out of hate anymore but can still get pretty intense. They don’t fight physically anymore but everything is a competition
It’s a running joke that Laxus collects demons like Pokémon. He’s got Freed, Mira, Natsu and Gray so far (some count Erza as well)
The entire guild is super protective of Lisanna. She stubs her toe and half the guild is trying to do first aid
Cana is a natural born leader. She tends to take charge during battles has led them to victory multiple times

I was debating with myself over wether I should post this or not, but y'know what I like thinking about Fairy Tail and I'm gonna post it. Just incase it makes someone else as happy as it makes me.
NOTE: the words I bolded below the cut are words/terms I believe the Heartfilia women associate with their personal idea of Zeref.
So: What do the different generations of Heartfilia women associate with Zeref?
-Anna met him in the woods one day without knowing his identity for quite some time. He was a mysterious hermit mage with unbelievably high levels of magic power, and to Anna he had a lot of potential. Eventually he shared his ideas with her, a gate to connect the past and present, she instantly envisioned its usefulness and how it could save future generations.
To Anna he was a muse, a scholar and the guiding light who brought miracles into reality. But he was also a murderer, even if not by his own will or intentions, he had begun experimenting with the creation and manipulation of souls long before she met him. Her friend and teacher was the Black Wizard Zeref, she knew of him centuries before the terms 'Black Wizard' or 'Dark Mage' were conceived.
(Personally, I think Anna would also associate him with the Morning Star. The last star seen as dawn bleeds into a new day. He's a relic of the past even as far as Anna would be concerned because he's the last surviving student, and teacher, of the Mildian academy of Magic. Plus, the morning star is very closely associated with Lucifer. Depending on which interpretation of demonology you believe Lucifer either is a prince of hell who serves under Satan, or is Satan himself and Lucifer is just another name for him. I dunno, I can see connections between the two.) Also, Zeref's name is derived from the word Seraph as in the Seraphim Angels.
-Layla grew up hearing about the despicable actions of cults who claim to be following Zeref's last will. She knew that many scary stories about the dark mage himself were made up by parents to frighten naughty children into behaving themselves. But Layla wasn't a foolish woman, she knew he existed once and may still exist somewhere in the world she grew up in. Her ancestors' journal regarding the Eclipse Gate likely spoke of a brilliant wizard, one who Layla probably wondered about.
Could a man like Zeref, with all of his infamy and supposedly impossible accomplishments even be human? Chances are Layla thought he might be a God or Demon, maybe even a Demon God. Zeref was credited with creating a unique species of demons after all, and humans can't just make life so carelessly or easily as myths and legends said Zeref had. Maybe he was a Celestial Spirit, one who did something awful and was banished for his misdeeds? One who's constellation was no longer visible? Whoever and, or whatever Zeref had been and still might be, Layla would always feel like his name is a Dark Omen especially after having her daughter Lucy.
-Lucy knew of the scary stories that used Zeref's name. She knew about the legend of Lullaby, a death flute he had poured dark magic into thus creating a weapon of mass murder. He was the author of Demon Books and his name alone carries an Omen of Death.
Lucy saw Lullaby in person and nearly witnessed first hand its terrifying cursed power. Then on Galluna Island there was Deliora, another demon crated by Zeref who ruined the lives of so many people, including her own guildmate Gray. During her first year with the Fairy Tail guild alone Lucy encountered multiple demons made by Zeref's hand and nearly half a dozen groups of people (mostly dark guilds and cults) who were connected to his image in some way.
To Lucy Heartfilia, even before the incidents on Tenrou Island, Zeref was a real person. A monster in human skin, perhaps, but he had been real once.
And then Tenrou Island happens. Zeref is real in more than just a lingering image or some remnants hanging on from the Dark Ages of Magic. He's an immortal, who the members of Grimoire Heart believe to have mastered One Magic, the origin and completed form of all magical power.
----------------
Now I want to go into some speculation of what Lucy's image of Zeref; as a person and legendary mage, could've been if they had ever gotten some one-on-one interactions!! (Seriously, Lucy and Zeref could've had some very interesting interaction at any point in the series. There is just too much to unpack here, though.)
If Zeref and Lucy had met face-to-face (no, I don't count his unconscious body being manhandled across Tenrou Island. He was unconscious, she couldn't have gotten a read on his personality while he was unconscious...) at any point after Tenrou Island I feel like her impression of him would be similar to mine.
He's like a porcelain doll, empty and cold with unnaturally smooth edges. He fakes his smiles so often that they look natural now, but he's very good at pretending and I feel like Lucy would recognize this due to the environment she grew up in. He's unstable and unpredictable. Zeref is like a black hole he takes in so many things from knowledge, magic power, people, and even the essence of life which is stolen by his curse. In Lucy's mind he is a void that cannot give anything but death and sorrow. His curse makes him a cosmic force compressed down into a human body barely restrained by his own ability to compartmentalize his emotions.
Natsu, on the other hand, is like the North Star to Lucy. Her own guiding light always leading her back home to Fairy Tail. Natsu is Lucy's Polaris. (I need someone to write a fic with some of this imagery, please I am begging on my hands and knees. The huge difference in how Lucy views Zeref as a terrifying cosmic force in human skin with a sort of uncanny-valley appearance v.s. how she sees Natsu as everything that embodied her idea of 'home'! The way these two are brothers who are both so alike in certain ways but vastly different in others-!!)
I think about the Dragneel boys a lot. They are my favorite shade of angst and literary symbolism, I think. (Oh also, @spot-of-tea I'd like this to be seen by them.)

ultear's timeline is so jam-packed it stresses me out. she's a side character technically, but her lore is insane.
Like, Ultear as a child is tested on for at least a year before escaping, finding her mom, vowing vengeance on her mother for replacing her. Then she goes back, gets experimented for a little bit longer, and destroys the place, all before age 10. Then hades finds her, she joins grimoire heart, and she masters time magic. But around that time, she also possesses a 7-year-old jellal under the guise of being Zeref at like 13.
Then from 14-25 she "slows down" a bit, just doing some mass destruction to find seals for Zeref and taking in a child. oh and don't forget how she joins the magic council with like 17-year-old jellal as siegrain who again, she is manipulating, and begins aiding lyon in freeing deliora from the ice that is her mother.
im pretty certain that all happens before natsu and lucy meet in hargeon.
this behavior absolutely continues in the 7 year timeskip. she rebuilds her relationship with her adopted daughter while continuing to raise her, breaks jellal out of the highest security prison in the nation, presumably helps him get his memory back(? unclear on when that happened). then with that merry trio, she founded a pseudo-dark guild, destroyed several "legitimate" dark guilds, perfects the spell to unlock the second origin or something, and keeps an eye out for Zeref-likr magic throughout an entire damn country. All while on the run from the Magic Council, and several other dark guilds.
like what the hell are you on?
