The vibe was definitely different because logically two people (especially jm&jk) are gonna behave differently than a three person group. Just a matter of numbers, synergies and the need to deliver a specific product to the audience. Nonetheless it was so entertaining to me. I realize I kinda missed these three together sharing 2 braincells (1 for jimin and 1 for tae&jk). The first two episodes were so chill and they felt like they almost had a lowkey underground vibe as if they were in their own bubble away from everyone just living life in their little part of the world accompanied by a moody scene and dim lights while this episode was like a action packed manic episode, so bright so cheerful with childlike wonder. I'm glad they can still have fun together and always enjoy the moment.

Plus let's be honest jikook are gonna jikook no matter the place, time and people around.

Some of the funniest parts of the ep to me were: The contrast of Jimin yapping about Aewol and Tae&Jk eating like there's no tomorrow. The drive through ordeal. The perfect comedic scenario of Jimin chasing Tae to make him eat like it was the last thing he would do.

Favourite reaction meme/face of the day. The betrayal, the suspense, the drama.

LOOK at this little bean stopping and collecting Jimin's 1930 shoes and going after his shenanigans like the dependable banryeo he is 😭 (remember back in 2019 when jimin called jk that and everyone went crazy and rolled with it for MONTHS? Good times)

On another note it's actually very interesting how you can feel and see how in every second Jimin tries to be in control of the situation and always on top of everything, every angle and every concern. He also always looks so deep in thoughts during these episodes, it's like he's given himself the task to be the artist, entertainer, manager,producer and everything all at once in this show. I'm sure it also has to do with his own personality and being someone who looks at every minor detail, a perfectionist who tries to curate everyone and everything.

Isn’t Charles Leclerc staying loyal to Ferrari when they fail him time and time again not just the definition of the sunk-cost fallacy?

As someone who only really got into F1 at the start of the year, I like Charles because I saw he was a good driver and I want him to get a WDC. However, I am not a Ferrari fan because all they have proven is that they are an incompetent team that is stuck rooted in the tradition of failing their drivers. Maybe Ferrari has improved over the years but since I started being a Charles fan I have always wanted him to switch. If Ferrari is intent of screwing over Charles’ career then screw them, yeah?

Charles is loyal to Ferrari, it’s basically his family. He doesn’t have the longest running Ferrari contract for nothing. He stays loyal even when his races are ruined by bad strategy for years. It seems it’s gotten to the point where he’s spent his whole life trying to be il Predestinato, that if he gave up now it would have been all for nothing. Years of his career may have been in a way wasted. It would be especially so, if he left now and then Lewis switches and wins, though if Charles isn’t being supported at the moment than it’s unlikely he wouldn’t be favoured next year.

If Charles left he would be gambling with his career, yes, but that’s already what he is doing. The sunk-cost fallacy is often used in reference to gambling. Charles is gambling his career on the hope that Ferrari will one day, well, stop being Ferrari.

I haven’t been a Red Bull fan since back when Ricciardo was still driving for them, but Tumblr has made me change my mind a bit over the last year. While I may not like everything about the leadership and culture of the team, there’s no denying that they are still a great team even without the fastest car and (sorry mum and dad but) Tumblr has made me like Max. I know it is incredibly unlikely for Charles to switch mid season and take Checo’s seat but is it so bad to want it to happen? I just want the man back in the points again. Charles and Max seem to get along well and can put on track differences aside, only really rate each other, and plus Red Bull has literally defended Charles before. Charles had been doing well with Ferrari during the end of 2023 and the start of this year, and obviously we cannot ignore how incredible him finally winning Monaco was. I couldn’t sleep until I’d gotten confirmation that Monaco finally loved him back, but looking at the team’s record as a whole, it kinda looks like a fluke.

Is Lestappen gate becoming a real thing as unlikely as Ferrari not being Ferrari anymore? Yes. But both options require an unrealistic amount of hope so I will wish for my Lestappen teammates.

I’ve seen the Charles Ferrari depression memes a lot over the year and these last few races make it seem like Charles is at the end of his rope with the team. All I want as a Charles fan is that he makes the decision that will give him success.

(i absolutely love shotaro’s chart 🥺 it just fits him so so well) these two have such a joyful connection. there’s never a dull moment between these two and it is just the kind of lightheartedness that both need while navigating their careers. in the same breath, they can be a very serious duo who are continuously pushing each other towards improvement. they work better as a team, with the ability to make each of them shine individually. shotaro has a lot to teach seunghan and in return, seunghan sings shotaro’s praises any and every chance he can get,,, like he absolutely ADORES shotaro. seunghan believes in shotaro and teaches shotaro to continue being his truest self. shotaro takes more of an leading role amongst these two (and all of riize if we’re honest) and seunghan will gladly follow due to his admiration and respect for who shotaro is as a person. what makes these two work so well is just how different they are. look at their sun signs — pisces (eunseok) and libra (seunghan) are nothing alike. pisces is a water sign, libra is an air sign. pisces is mutable, while libra is cardinal. nearly every one of their personal placements oppose or square each other, and yet, they just work. i think these two are a great example of the balance, work, and compromise that is needed amongst two people with placements that oppose and square each other. although oppositions and squares are often seen to bring tension, this tension is necessary to test the willingness of the two to make things work. and these two have definitely put in the work due to how comfortable they are with one another despite any differences.

polywar dating hcs

- I mentioned before that I think Izzy is the one who thinks everything is a date, her preferred love language is quality time so for dates Duke always likes to walk home with her or just sit in a park together

- more often than not they will lose track of time and talk for hours. they never seem to run out of things to talk about either, from that movie Duke watched last night to the dumb meme Izzy scrolled past this morning or even a surprisingly heated debate over the objectively best pokemon (eelektross vs lucario)

- they'll always end up talking in the weirdest places too (like the middle of a roundabout or the elevator to a fancy hotel neither of them have heard of) but they don't really mind or notices when Izzy's hour 2 of her 'why all her partners need to binge watch cowboy bebop on their next movie night' rant or Duke ranking all his fictional crushes (Storm is number one followed closely by Ben 10)

- Duke and Dax have the most similar music taste of any of the group, most of their dates are looking around music store (cuz when your in a poly relationship of five at least one of you collects records) or going to live gigs together. Duke has consistently been to every single frown clown gig (except a few that he missed due to missions). Dax usually invites any of his partners in the audience onto the stage during the last song of every show and at this point any frown clown fans or regulars in the gotham hardcore scene recognise at least one or two members of the polycule.

- even tho Duke and Dax have the most similar music tastes Duke still prefers metal while Dax prefers punk music.

- Duke and Dax's first kiss was definitely at a batman's @#$& concert

- Dre and Duke butt heads most out of all the polycule, they don't really connect in the same way as the rest of the partners, and didn't really consider themselves dating until the polycule had been around for about a year.

- despite this they did work hard to improve their relationship and ended up falling for each other just as they fell for their other partners.

- Duke and Dre's dates are usually in the gym or doing some kind of physical activity, it started with Dre teaching Duke boxing when they were both robins and later Duke showed him fighting combos he practiced with Cass, eventually they started some different sports like rock climbing and trampolining (idk if those are considered sports tho) they always have this level of competition between them that they don't really have with any of their other partners. but it's sorta Duke and Dre's weird brand of love

- i think it was in my last post i mentioned that Duke has the weirdest date ideas, well Riko isn't far behind.

- a lot of the time their dates start out normal. they just rarely stay that way.

- like the time when they planned on having just a regular lunch date and ended up with them in metropolis, head to toe in superman merch and getting storage looks on the bus back to gotham. or that time they tried to recreate iconic kisses from movies and they ended up stuck on the roof of the wayne enterprises building with Harley Quinn and a box set of Powerpuff girls.

- people outside the polycule never believe them when they explain their dates to them but Izzy, Dax and Dre have gotten used to the special brand of chaos that comes with Riko and Dukes dates

I actually wanted to add more depth to Jade’s character for a while now , so this is awesome ^^👍

Here are some Jade facts , including some epic lore !

Jade is pansexual , and ever since she was a kid she never thought about the gender of her potential partner being something that mattered to her 💙💛🩷 For example she actually used to have a crush on the one friend she had in middle school , and even though she wasn’t interested in her romantically Jade still remained close to her for many years :) 

Jade was … definitely really different when she was younger compared to the present day : very shy , afraid to raise her voice even just a little too much and terrified about disappointing her parents , she clinged to her skills with technology in hopes of becoming good enough to get her mother’s and father’s approval one day … though Jade only talked about her past with Jaw Bone and no one else : it makes her pretty uncomfortable .

Speaking of Jade’s parents , they used to be heavily involved with L.A.W back when she was a child , with her sister Lena even becoming an esteemed Agent of theirs … however , they pretty much only had eyes for her , leaving Jade behind without caring about any of her own achievements . Since she had the chance to witness up close just how messed up her family’s ideal were , Jade’s hatred for L.A.W begun very early and still lives on to this day . 

After running away from home ( around 17 years old ) Jade got involved with a group of anti-L.A.W space pirates , and they ended up becoming her real family : their Captain Klamp especially took a liking to her , becoming the father she never had while teaching her how to fight and defend herself , and that was also the point where she decided to get a few “upgrades” to improve herself , gaining her robotic legs and eyes . 

Jade has to be careful about not overcharging her legs , since they can stop working and leave her without a way to move or run away … that’s why whenever she’s in a fight she reflects carefully on her every action .

Jade’s shotgun doesn’t actually use bullets : instead she designed it to shoot pure electricity to paralyze her enemies , which can last for whole days … and give them some brain damage in the worst cases , which in her opinion is very much deserved ;C;

Jade often takes pictures of the L.A.W agents she defeats to then turn them into memes and send them to Jaw Bone … he finds them hilarious :,)

Jade’s favorite food is waffles , to the point that they are included in her breakfast almost every day ! Jaw Bone likes to surprise her by baking them some , doing his best to go easy with the heat ( he almost blew up the kitchen once because he wanted to “test” how much the microwave could take … ) 

When talking about videogames , Jade would be a big fan of strategy based ones , like Pokémon and Inscryption , playing some Minecraft and Stardew Valley  when she’s stressed .

The desk Jade uses in her room to work is neatly organized , and she won’t hesitate to annihilate anyone who messes with it ( JB is the only exception to the rule and even he knows not to push it too far ) 

Jade’s voiceclaim would be Lucy from Cyberpunk Edgerunners , another big inspiration for her being Sombra from Overwatch :D

Even though she works for Disco Head now , Captain Klamp does occasionally pass by to chat with Jade and see how she’s doing , and he always makes sure to remind Jaw Bone that if he makes his adoptive daughter upset he will “kick his sorry boney ass” , even though Jade begs him not to do tell him that … overprotective pirate dad is best dad :,)

If Behrad had been given more of a chance in the matter, he would’ve preferred not being sent to a boarding school across the country. But the alternative had been staying on Keeping Up With The Tarazis, and if some moment taken out of context became another meme, he would do something he’d regret. 

So, Hunter Academy it was. 

There were some perks. His parents had enrolled him under a fake last name, Tomaz, which meant he’d flown relatively under the radar. Especially since he’d spent most of the last year hiding from the cameras in every inch of their house. The current rumor the gossip magazines were pedaling was that he’d been sent to rehab which - okay, he was a bit of a stoner, but he’d never done any “hard drugs”, or whatever. He didn’t even drink. 

The other perk was Astra Logue. 

When he’d arrived to Astra, she was one of the first people he’d met outside his roommate, Gary. She was beautiful, smart, and a little bit of a mean girl - exactly Behrad’s type. So maybe he’d immediately become smitten with her. 

 He was supposed to meet her to study for their physics exam during their free period, but instead he ran into her while she was talking to Ms. Moirae, the academy’s classics teacher. The two of them were right outside the empty classroom they’d planned to lampoon to study in.

Behrad felt- no, knew he shouldn’t eavesdrop. Whatever Astra’s relationship with Ms. Moirae was, he didn’t know for sure. But she complained about her - Lachesis - often enough that it certainly wasn’t just a student-teacher one. 

“I don’t like you hanging around that boy,” Ms. Moirae was saying. “It’s not a good look for you, Astra.” 

His blood went cold. Had she figured it out? Or was she going to bust his ass for being a stoner? 

“All we’re doing is studying,” Astra replied. “You really do think so little of me.”

Ms. Moirae scoffed. “Just studying. Sure. This is your junior year. If you want to get into a good college, you can’t waste your time with slackers." 

Now that he was offended by. Just a touch. He definitely was a procrastinator, but if his parents suspected that he wasn't putting enough effort in, he had no doubt that they'd drag him back to LA for KUWTT. 

"He does better in physics than I do," Astra replied. "God forbid I want to improve my grade before Dr. Stein gets on my ass-" 

"Then find another study buddy." 

"Gideon had to jump through hoops just to meet your high standards. It's not that easy." She rolled her eyes and glanced down the hall. When her eyes landed on him, he jumped. Behrad really didn't want to get in the middle of this. 

But Ms. Moirae didn't seem to notice him as she went on. "See, I don't see why you can't just study with her. I know there's the time difference, but she's much better suited." 

"You know what? Behrad, I see you hiding over there," Astra said. With a huff, she stomped away from Ms. Moirae - and towards him. "We better just come clean." He barely had time to react before she was leaning in to kiss him. 

It was a brief peck, but it was enough to answer his burning question of what it'd be like to kiss Astra Logue. Her lips were soft against his, even in that brief moment. She smelled nice, like lavender. To pull him close, she'd taken a fistful of his school-mandated button down, and her touch lingered even as she turned back to face Ms. Moirae. 

"You caught us. We're dating." 

Behrad could almost see the steam coming out of Ms. Moirae's ears as she looked at him. Shit. He was so going to get expelled. 

But she merely said, "We are going to talk about this later, Astra," before she turned and headed out of the hallway. 

Astra let go of his shirt and stepped away. "Sorry. I knew it'd startle her so much she'd get off my back." 

That confession hurt, just a little. "Oh." Behrad shoved his hands in his pockets, unsure of what to do with them. "Are you… okay? I kinda heard a lot of that." 

"No, I'm not okay." She huffed. "But… if you're worried about having to pretend to be together, she'll force me to break up with you this evening anyways." 

"I wasn't worried about that," he said, though he absolutely had been. 

Astra readjusted her bag, looking as if she was finding words to say. Finally, she said, "Come on. Let's go study."

She walked off before he had time to answer. Behrad took a deep breath. "Yeah. Okay."

Please, Chibodee is the king of casual affection! It doesn't actually occur as easily to Domon, but he gets really into it, so it's all good.

2-Big spoon/Little spoon?

Chibodee is absolutely big spoon... unless he falls asleep first, then all bets are off

3-Most common argument?

Tough call. What's likely for them is brief heated arguments, but, like... the thing they're arguing about isn't the real problem. (So I guess technically these proxy arguments are really about communication, and the ways they both fail at it when upset - and things do improve once a blowout fight brings that into the open.)

4-Favorite non-sexual activity?

I feel like sparring is the obvious answer here

5-Who is most likely to carry the other?

I would pay actual money to see Domon pick up Chibodee. I'm sure he could, of course, but it's just a funny visual.

6-What is their favorite feature of their partner’s?

Assuming this means physical features, it's a tie on Chibodee's behalf - he pays particular attention to people's eyes, and Domon's dark fiery eyes are no exception... but Domon also has the perfect ass. On the flip side, Domon doesn't quite get why he would have to pick just one thing. Does ‘smile’ count as a feature?

7-What’s the first thing that changes when they realize they have feelings for the other?

Knowing he has no chance at that point, Chibodee busts his ass to make sure that nothing changes between them (the last thing he needs is Domon getting wise)... which works out okay until he blurts it out to the other Shuffles. So I suppose the first thing that changes is the rest of the gang (particularly George) having increasing awkward moments where they keep a suspiciously close eye out for any rise in tension between the two.

When Domon finally realizes his feelings down the line, he actually comes out with it fairly quickly - but not before some uncharacteristic fumbling, a not-incorrect accusation that Chibodee is hiding something from him, and a very loaded sparring session.

Nothing really in the way of affectionate pet names, not that Chibodee didn't try

9-Who worries the most?

I have to give it to broody Domon. If Chibodee does, he usually tries to play it off.

Chibodee, but mostly because Domon has predictable taste

You speak as though that wouldn't be competitive

At first, definitely Chibodee, though he's got to be careful about it, because the whole thing is still shaky territory for Domon and steamrolling him isn't going to help. Eventually, it evens out a little more (and Domon can be surprisingly thoughtful about it)

Whoever needs it. Encouragement via hand-holding is one stripe of affection that comes very naturally for them.

I mean, they both have a lot of pent-up passion

Dr Kasshu is terribly confused. Rain has some complicated thoughts, but is overall happy for Domon, and honestly a little relieved. Chibodee is the easy answer here too, though there's a good chance that anything he says will take a few seconds to click for Domon, if it doesn't sail over his head entirely. If Domon were to do this, however, he'd be more effective, mostly by virtue of sheer bluntness.

Oh lord, in their own ways, both of them! The trouble is that, in their own ways, they both aren't great at seeking it out (Domon gets snippy and withdraws, Chibodee pulls the old "eyyy lmao I am totally OK no need to worry"), so it comes down to the other learning those cues

Following testing you can't conclude anything to be truly fair as sandbagging remains a huge thing + different running programmes are a thing.

For example Jota was quick off the first session while most others seemed to be focussed on longer stints.

Truly looking at the fastest lap times Toyota seems to be on par with BMW which is absolutely not true. Their long run pace as always is incredibly consistent and they have so much experience that they have about everything including reliability on their side.

The only thing that wouldn't surprise me is if they don't finish on pole position. They have quite a heavy car with this BOP, the heaviest it's ever been and that could limit them slightly. But on race pace they definitely are close to being the quickest.

Porsche cars topped all sessions and they could be quite quick this weekend and seem to be quite consistent + their reliability seems to be quite good. They probably won't be exactly on pace with Toyota but I think they could theoretically fight with them.

Same goes for Ferrari they weren't quickest during testing but they've shown they're capable of coming close to Toyota.

Cadillac I'm not sure they seem quite quick but last year they struggled quite a bit, won't be sure until the race on them I'm guessing.

Peugeot despite the seemingly favourable BOP doesn't seem very quick. Don't think the win is in the cards for them - really hope the Evo is an improvement for them next round.

Newcomers Lambo and Alpine don't seem to be very quick yet, though aren't very off the pace. Alpine had an engine issue in Session 3 and despite the obvious memes with the mechachrome I really wonder if we're going to see more of that this year. And I'm afraid we will.

BMW had quite an unfavourable BOP but seems to be quick so far despite that. They were the quickest of the newcomers during testing. It will be interesting to see how they improve over the weekend.

Realistically none of the newcomers will be fighting for a podium. But I do think that Lambo, Alpine and especially BMW show promising potential. And maybe if aided by BOP and some more experiences could be fighting a little higher up.

Isotta is as expected, slow. They do have an unfavourable BOP but between the car and the driver line up I don't think you can expect much from them.

If I'd have to take a bet I'd probably still put my money on Toyota but I guess we'll know more come the race. Endurance racing can always surprise and it is a rather long race, so a lot can happen.

HSR: 2.3.2 MoC, 2.3.1 AS, & 2.2.1 PF Recaps

I definitely forgot about drafting up the latter part of this post when it was more relevant so excuse my lateness. HSR has a lot of endgame content these days and keeping up with it across multiple different servers is a self-inflicted thorn in my side. So, without further ado, let's get into my yapping (under the cut because this post is long one)!

2.3.2. Memory of Chaos

Dissipation of Dreams dropped yesterday morning and I had been impatiently waiting for it so I could get the Nameless Honor points for getting 15 stars; which, I was informed yesterday, can be earned off of stages that have already been completed. Do you know just how many times I missed out on those stupid xp points back in the early days because I couldn't even get 15 stars in the first place? Would've been great to know about back then, but I digress.

Anyway, as I said, DoD dropped yesterday, and I was fully expecting it to be a bit of a rough time because of how badly it was being dragged in one of the HSR discords I frequent. Much to my surprise, this was the easiest time I've ever had running MoC.

There were a few things that made this MoC easier for me:

The enemy lineup on stage 12 was almost the exact same as the 2.2.2 MoC; they swapped out the elite mob in the first wave of 12-1 for a different one, then flipped the challenge order of 12-1 (The Past, Present, and Eternal Show) and 12-2 (Argenti) so that they were inverted. This meant that I didn't have to think about who to run, and I could just refer to the previous challenge records for guidance. I was able to save myself about 18 wave resets because of this.

I got e5 Gallagher, giving myself a better Boothill team member and freeing up Aven as a secondary sustain for my opposing team lineup.

I've been farming relics like an absolute mad person for the past few weeks to fix some of my builds. Relics make up such a large part of character performance and I could truly feel the difference in the damage output for those I've been able to improve since the last MoC (see new builds below).

I'd rate my enjoyment of this MoC at 4/5 stars. Overall, it wasn't too terribly difficult and went by much faster than any of my previous attempts. This was both a positive/negative for me; while I was glad to have done well and efficiently so, it was very strange not to have to think too much or come back to retry the challenge over the course of a week. I’ve become so used to stopping my runs to farm relics/make team adjustments that it was a bit jarring to finish everything in one sitting. At the end of the day, I got my 800 jades for 36 stars so that's good enough for me.

2.3.1 Apocalyptic Shadow

Stormwind Knight was the integral AS stage, and this one took a bit of finagling to get the final star for 6600+ points. I can't give you an entire rundown on my thoughts as it's been a couple weeks since I finished the challenge, but I vaguely remember having to consult the discord for advice because my brain was not braining with team comps and I had been trying to beat the stage for multiple days.

However, I can tell you that super break Jing Yuan is a meme of a team that I've been using to fight "Harmonious Choir" The Great Septimus since 2.2 when the boss first came out. I don't know what compelled me to do that in the first place since lightning is one of the weaker break types, but here I was using it on stage 3 before having to switch it out for something more effective.

I should also note that, during this challenge, DHIL was on an absolutely trash 2pc/2pc atk% build, making it take far too many tries to get to 6600 points from all his missed crits. Gallagher was also freshly pulled and severely lacking in break effect. Additionally, Aventurine was still running 4-star planar ornaments and half of Tingyun's relics were still 4-star pieces as well. I briefly considered going back into the mode now that all of them have been improved to see how much better of a score I can get, but ultimately decided it wasn’t worth the effort.

2.2.1 Pure Fiction

The Lexical Enigma PF was interesting to say the least. I don’t usually play past the second stage of this mode due to my lack of useful units; I’m still Himeko-less and my duke farming hasn’t been going very well, meaning that Herta is still benched. Hopefully the Navigator will bless me with her presence via standard banner in the near future.

Fortunately for my lack of stellar jade savings, this patch I was feeling especially motivated to have a queen sweep of all the endgame modes; I spent way too much time and put in far more effort than I usually would to get all 12 stars. It was actually my very first time since PF released so yippee! We love progress.

I almost gave up a few times, my pride was hurt, and extreme sacrifices were made to get this finished. If you aren't aware, I have a special amount of spite reserved for Serval; I have nothing against her character (I actually loved playing through her companion mission and using her before version 1.4 came out) I'm just frustrated by the sheer number of times I've pulled both her and her signature light cone since the game came out. S15 Make the World Clamor is ten too many copies of that goddamn lc and I wish I could erase its existence from the game at this point.

That being said, finally releasing Serval from her lvl 70, 5/8/8/8 trace, 4-star relic wearing purgatory was what ultimately led to my success (see build below). Even though it wasn't the best build I could've given her, I'm hoping that it was enough to lift the Serval-based curse that had been placed upon me. And if not, y'all will be hearing about it.

Anyway, that's the extent of my yapping about the endgame modes for now. I'm going to try to put these out after every challenge cycle runs its course so that I'm not making an excessive number of posts about them. I apologize in advance for the impending long posts, but I'd rather not blow up y'all's feeds with separated iterations of my nonsense if I don't have to.

The schedule will still be a bit off for the next one of these recaps since I decided to include the current MoC but not the most recent PF. I'll do my best to get that sorted out asap.

Sheesh, I really rambled my way through this one, didn't I? Fun fact: a severe storm passed over my city while I was writing up this post, causing me to lose power, and I had to rewrite the entire second half of it because auto save wouldn't work without internet access. Don't you just love to see it?

Hesitation - Critical Hit Included not because I'm still particularly fond of the writing in it, I've definitely improved a lot since then, but because the era of me writing for Critical Hit and the audience of 'literally myself because i need to get the ideas out of my head, and if other people even SEE this it will be so cool' was very formative for how I approach writing now. Summary:

The portal home stands open, but Ket, unclear on what he’s meant to do, hesitates. In just one moment, his window of opportunity has passed. And that is how Ket spends the next five years trapped in the feywild with one Orem Rivendorn.

My Boyfriend is (not) a Vigilante- BNHA I just still think I was so silly for this... It was just very fun to write. I feel like if I had to pick a most underrated fic of mine (at least for this fandom) it would be this one. Summary:

In which pro-hero Chargebolt takes the night shift, meets a cute guy, gets radicalized, and totally forgets that underground heroes exist.

Just a Concerned Citizen -BNHA ...The popularity of this one kind of speaks for itself, I think. It's the first fic where I got an idea, sat down, and wrote the whole outline, and its not perfect, but I think it feels more cohesive story-wise than anything that came before it. Plus its long and it's DONE. Summary:

Midoriya Izuku is a normal, quirkless, college drop-out. He's not a vigilante. Everything he does is perfectly above board and totally legal -- He's double checked. It would be nice if everyone else could see it that way, though. (Izuku becomes an informant, sort of. Trouble follows.)

Hand Over Hand Over Hand - Naruto (Founders) Oops, an unfinished fic slipped in here. Weirdly it's sort of the opposite of the last fic, where the outline is so much more vague than I normally make, but I like writing it, and I like thinking about it, and it is my sincere hope that I can make something good enough that it will make people ship the pairing(s) involved like I do.

Summary:

Uchiha Hikaku, asked by his clan head to join his household as a dignified beta, does not think of saying anything other than yes, knowing he will have no opportunity to ever be closer to Madara than this. His duties will include caring for the household, including Madara's new mate. Which is perfectly fine, Hikaku can deal with that easily. At least, he can until Tobirama turns out to be nothing like he expected, in ways that really shouldn't be a problem, but are. It is a decision he may, or may not, come to regret.

The Bandage the Holds Together - Naruto (Founders) One of those fics that was just an idea that wouldn't let me go until it was written, but this one was actually at a reasonable scope. For the first chapter, then I thought "what about Hikaku's POV" and did it AGAIN, and it turns out the difference in how characters think about stuff is fun to think about. Summary:

Soulmates are rare and prized in the world of shinobi. The healing and implicit loyalty always makes for something powerful and prized -- and not something that's supposed to be found between two members of an enemy clan. So, no. Tobirama wasn't expecting this.

the first one is from june of last year, so this is over a year's worth of trying to draw the same face.

i think it's kind of funny because i'm still not very good at capturing likenesses, but i'm definitely running into a little bit of same face with my art where i keep drawing hyeop's nose + lips on other's faces. oops. i need to be more careful about that, and learn to draw a better variety of features, humans are so different don't accidentally shoehorn yourself!

but i digress, since it's the same face i think it's easier to actually see the changes in my art? i think my lines are a lot more consistently neater, which is something i've always struggled with. i know i just said i'm not good at capturing likenesses, but there's a difference between the first row and the last so i'm definitely getting somewhere with this.

i've never been good at making myself do studies, like it's hard to draw stuff just because "it's good for you", if that makes sense? so this has been my way of forcing myself to look at an image and learn how to actually draw the things i'm bad at. these are cropped down to faces, so you can't tell, but the way i draw hands has drastically improved since i got into drippin. i still get lazy about it sometimes, but for the most part these actually look like hands?

like these would have been good hands for me, from 2022 but b4 i got into drippin?

the hands here aren't like, very detailed or anything but drawing this many hands would have been honestly unimaginable for me last year?

other things i've been trying to force myself to get better at are drawing faces at certain angles? figuring out how to actually use the liquify tool when painting helped a whole lot, because it's so much easier to liquify and then fix it, instead of trying to paint over several times and still getting it wrong? white cloth, black cloth, shoes, trying to figure out textures a little bit better too, i have a loooong way to go with understanding clothing folds but i think i'm finally making progress with that too...

last year, i kept drawing less and less until i had an entire month where i didn't draw at all. it got really hard to draw, and drawing more than a waist-up or even a headshot was a serious challenge, so this has also been a good way to push myself into much more consistently drawing full bodies.

drawing drippin fanart, or more specifically hyeop, is probably like a crutch for me? it's easy to fall back on, this is probably where my comfort zone is right now. but i don't think that needs to be a bad thing, because what's important is that i'm still drawing something, and i'm still learning how to draw things? i'm having fun, and it's easier to keep my drawing motivation up

anyway, hm, i'm not sure how long i'll stay this invested in drippin, but i want to take full advantage of wanting to draw fanart until then LOL ... if i make it to another 100 fanarts, i wonder if i'll have improved more by then HMM!

THESE ARE SO GOOD I've been thinking about them all day at work today and I'm SORRY this is really long I love Blue.

(1) could Blue love again and be in a healthy relationship?

YEAH SO I HAVE A LOT OF THOUGHTS ABOUT THIS. Blue's potential to heal and recover and become a good person is one of my favorite things to talk about. The short answer is yes, but with great difficulty.

Blue currently, by default just doesn't particularly care about people very much. He likes people that he can use. He is attracted to people for sure. He can like someone who is kind enough to let him in. But things generally always end with him pushing his luck and taking and taking until the person has had enough and cuts him off. It doesn't bother him, he just kinda moves on. He can begin to develop feelings for a person who very persistently sticks around even after seeing him on his worst days. Someone who he thinks might understand him. Keep him around, keep showing him that you listen and you care, and you understand and he can fall genuinely in love. Even if you begin to put your foot down and stop letting him walk all over you, he may push back a little initially but if all you offer him at the end of the day is somewhere to be and someone to cry to when all the others have left he will always come back.

One major hurdle here though is the relationship being healthy. Blue's relationships are unhealthy because he is the abuser. Things can't be healthy unless he improves. He has a lot of very volatile feelings, mostly they come out as anger, and he does have a tendency to get violent. He is willing and has before gotten into physical bar fights and such but I don't think he would go so far as to hit someone outside of such a setting. But he throws things, breaks things, etc when angry. He has years of trauma built up that he's never processed at all because he's just been drinking it away for as long as he can remember.

There would be so much arguing and pushback and fights to try and get him to stop drinking but it's a very necessary step. I don't really ever see him voluntarily stopping for a romantic partner, but I haven't had much opportunity to write such a thing so its possible. It's definitely a struggle. But if he does, that's when he's suddenly able to be vulnerable. Like a scared kid almost. It takes a long time to work through, but being with him while he learns to kind of be a normal person again is how you could make him yours forever. Things would be rough for a while but it would eventually become something healthy.

He spent so many years full of hatred that I think recovered Blue could be full of love to give.

(2) under what circumstances would he tell someone (or Nunnally specifically) his real name?

The thing is that Blue didn't really change his name for any particularly strong reason. He simply doesn't feel like the person he used to be. And he doesn't like the memories associated with that name so he doesn't use it. He made up the nickname and that's what he prefers.

He doesn't like people knowing it, he wouldn't tell it to anyone really. But he doesn't absolutely hate if people know it as long as they continue to call him Blue. I think under the circumstances I talked about in the last question - if someone were helping him get better through a really hard vulnerable patch in his life and helping him kind of process his trauma he might tell them. I've always debated this but I don't really think that even if he recovers that he ever wants to go by Azura, he always prefers Blue.

New changes

As promised, I will be revitalizing the old content of the blog with new changes. This list doesn't cover it all, but it's a start.

Stars: The previous old stars will remain and new suggestions are always welcome. New ones so far will include: Charley Chase; James Parrott (technically not a "star" but it would be fun to include Charley's brother); Patsy Kelly; Zasu Pitts; Mae Busch; and Anita Garvin. Last time, I had gotten some suggestions from other countries, including Pedro Infante. I may include others who aren't comedians but are those that I generally like.

The college AU: The college AU will stay mostly as it is. After I spend more time thinking about it, I plan to do a big update post including the new stars and where they would fit. I have a couple fics drafted up that I'll be finishing in a while, once my inspiration to write comes back.

Videos, memes, and birthday tributes: Memes and meme videos will definitely come back as they were. Starting next year, I might consider re-doing the old birthday tributes because my editing skills have improved a lot over the years. The only one I plan to do this year is Charley Chase because his day is coming up soon (October 20).

Quotes: I used to upload a quote a day. Lately, I haven't seen a lot of quotable stuff but I do have a few saved and ready to be queued. As before, submissions are always open and will enter the queue.

Other posts: I want to put a little less focus on quotes and make this more of a general posting space. The queue will be a mix of all mediums.

🌈 Describe an ideal fantasy of your muse's. You can do it IC, or talk about it ooc. Does it match your own? If so, speak both sides elaborately about that. What about it is appealing to either of you?

In Lauren's mind, her ideal fantasy is pretty simple: to get away from the city where she's grown up, to travel with a very close friend or two to the furthest reaches of the natural world. To find somewhere for them to settle far away from the rest of civilisation: she's picturing a remote mountainside cabin with unspoiled snow-covered vistas right outside her door, but really she isn't picky about the specifics. She just hates city life, loves impressive natural views, and wants to be able to share that with her few close friends.

For myself ooc, I can definitely see the appeal there; I'm very much not a big city person either, and there is a part of me that would love to see natural wonders and such. But I also have mixed feelings about travelling, and I wouldn't want to be as removed from civilisation as all that; a small-medium town with some nice nature walks around it would be more my speed... which Lauren would definitely accept as an improvement from her current accommodation, but wouldn't hit quite what she was dreaming of.

🐏 If you're comfortable, describe something personal/IRL that affects your writing; things you want to do cathartically, things to avoid because xyz, moods you may be in.

I'm not sure I have a definitive answer to this question: I feel like if I did, I'd be a quicker writer than I am currently! That said, for one thing I know that time of day often affects my writing: I often find it flows more naturally in the evening than at other times of the day. Having some sort of relaxing ambient music playing in the background can often help too, especially if it's from one of those YouTube videos that shows views of nature at the same time; it helps to keep my mind in the right place, and if I start to get stuck in a mental rut I can just glance over to the video and take in the scenery for a few moments until I can move on. Otherwise... I confess I'm still figuring it out so far!

Hm. You know, made me think a little for this one. I generally try to be on board with my RP partners' ideas and at least give them a try unless it's a subject that I'm really not willing to touch.

I guess the most recent time was... not on tumblr, but in a Discord RP group I'm part of. There was opportunity for one of my muses to get involved in an in-character event, but I wasn't sure I fully grasped how the mechanics of that particular thread would play out since they looked a little different to what I was used to; I decided instead to sit it out for that time to watch those who did participate, so that I'd be better prepared for subsequent opportunities that used the same approach.

A bit of a mixture right now, to be honest. Happy and thankful for the time I've had with my girlfriend; apprehensive about parting ways again in a few days; a bit of nervous and a lot of excited for where the future's going to take us; still lingering distant sadness from a recent loss in the family... it feels like a bit of everything right now! xD

In-character for Lauren is an easier answer: she's actually feeling relaxed for once. Summer break just started last week in the UK (or UK-adjacent country in the AU of reality that her story takes place in!), so she's looking forward to like a month of not having to deal with school things at all, chilling in the wooded area of the local park with her writing and / or her best friend, and just pretending that she's not in the middle of the city for a while.

found me. it helped me find myself.

i first encountered it through a recommended youtube video littered with lumity moments from season one, and i found myself quickly invested. i pirated the first season and it was a phenomenal watching experience. it was so great that i even introduced my sibling to it (who, at times, became more invested than me).

i vividly remember the buzz surrounding the upcoming second and third seasons: all the memes the fandom created, all the reddit posts curating these memes or elaborating on theories, all the hype surrounding lumity, the headcanons, and the enthusiasm. it’s all a wonderful memory that i shall cherish for the rest of my life.

in height of my interest in lumity, i stumbled upon animatics and songs that people saw as definitive of each girl and their relationship. i was introduced to “little miss perfect” by joriah kwamé and that song seemed to change my life. at the time, i thought it defined me: nearly every lyric and word i could relate to because, well, i related to amity… hard.

i saw myself in her (while simultaneously simping for her) and i could never keep my gaze off of her. hell, my first poem that i can remember and recite and pull up, was about her. she changed my life, this show changed my life.

by the time season two had rolled around, my excitement for the cartoon had faded, but the second season was fucking awesome. everything had improved: the animation, the storytelling, the characters, everything and i remember being hyped to see each and every episode (and disappointed when i saw spoilers on vacation).

lumity had become canon, everyone was invested in the show and newcomers were stringing along, and i had even gotten my sibling into it: all was well… until… it was announced the owl house had been cancelled, and would be having a shortened, three hour-long episode season three. it devastated everyone. people tried to convince the mouse otherwise, but dana said that nothing else could be done (and the second season had already been set up for the next and final).

i couldn’t believe it, in fact, i refused to believe it. no way that my favorite show ever was to end sooner than it should have, than it would have. i feel like i still haven’t processed it: i enjoyed the last three episodes of the series, but i always watched them in anticipation of more. alas, today, the realization hit, that i had shed no tears over this show while watching the final episode, that i had shed no tears over the show that single-handedly could define me?

it sucks. it really fucking sucks, that this show won’t be around anymore: that the world of the boiling isles, and its characters, its story, and literally everything, has ended. but, its impact will never. thank you the owl house. thank you so much. thank you forever.
