Law is a researcher with several phd's fighting for this assigment, yes its in the middle of nowhere in the arctic, where he and his team will be alone for months at a time with no contact with the outside world, but they are all fine with that and are excited of what discoveries and cures they will produce in this place.

Luffy is an ex-soldier (a very brief stint where he did the training, and then dropped out for a life of adventure), now he is a hired gun and adventurer that goes to explore the most inhospitable places on the planet, places where nobody has set foot. When he heard about the arctic expedition rumors and their search for someone who might look the other way and is not affiliated with the goverment

His references spoke for themselves and he was hired. Luffy just as excited as Law to be there but they dont interact until everything starts going wrong

The virus Law is studying goes out of control and starts turning people homicidal, there are a few deaths and he trusts his team but its not a small expedition. He needs someone to hold down a person, and help him carry the heavy things. Law who has looked at every resume, picks Luffy to confide in when it gets out of hand because he seems least likely to tell anyone.

Luffy is more then happy to help out with the virus issue.

There is a tense scene where Law gets infected, and its a race against time and Luffy doing everything to help, but having to learn that he cant as its not an opponent he can punch and all he can do is stay with Law and keep him focused while he works on it. Luffy breaking into the quarantine area. "If you get sick then so do I" this motivates Law more then anything and eventually they make a vaccine.

Thats Act 1 heh.

Act 2 would be about Luffy and his explorations, these kinds of things you always have something out on the ice, something more then just a virus, something living and sentient, an ancient god, an alien, something beyond human understanding, and Luffy would poke the hornets nest, waking up Nika somehow who makes people act almost like they did with the virus

Law panicking if they cured it/found a solution. There being no sign of it but he thinks Luffy is sick because he is acting strange, and they have spent enough time in each others company for him to see it

Law having to accept that something beyond science is happening if he wants to help/save Luffy.

Them supporting each other in this harsh enviroment. The obligatory hypothermia scene that they survive through cuddling, Luffy carrying Law when he gets injured/too tired to move but they both have to keep going

Law supporting Luffy when whatever the things is plays on his doubts and fears that are so deey buried that he doesnt see them mmmm
