Some cute cats

[ID: a drawing of several disabled Warrior Cats characters. Leafstar is a brown and cream tabby with cataracts, sitting down. Crookedstar is a big brown mackerel tabby with his jaw twisted to one side, with some teeth and his tongue sticking out. His nose is also twisted upwards and his eye is squinted. Cinderpelt is a gray cat with a few white spots, with a twisted hind leg she is keeping off the ground. Brightheart is an orange-and-white cat with significant scarring on one side of her face, without an eye, ear, or lip on that side, and scarring over the rest of her body, in a sitting position. Deadfoot is a black cat with a twisted front foot, which he keeps off the ground as he runs. Briarlight is a dark brown colorpoint cat with paralyzed back legs. Her front legs are fairly buff and she appears to be talking to Jayfeather, who is a silver cat with markings like a blue jay on his face and blue eyes, blind from birth. He is sitting and his large ear is pointed towards Briarlight. Longtail is also a silver tabby with scratched blind eyes, which are slightly open with the third eyelid showing. So Cinderpelt "cannot be a warrior" because of her paralyzed leg, while Deadfoot, who has a twisted fore paw, is just right there being a deputy. Make it make sense Erins.

How's Crookedstar getting along with his fun new deputy? Actually, what are the Leader/Deputy relationships like in the other Clans?

Leoparddawn is fiercely loyal to Crookedstar, but by god can he irritate her sometimes with how little he seems to care about doing basic things like organizing patrols or guarding the territory from loners (neither of these things are important to most RiverClanners). He appreciates her hard work, but he hopes he can teach her to chill out a little before he passes.

As for the others, Blackstar and Russetfur are a good team. They're both pretty serious and hardworking, and Russetfur is eager to make up for maternity leave, even though Blackstar never had an issue with it. Her dad (who took over the position for her temporarily) is immensely proud of her, but I think he was the one that accidentally instilled the worry about stepping down for a bit in Russetfur's head. He might've made some offhand comment about busywork or something and now she wants to stay busy as often as she can. Blackstar needs to have a talk with her.

We've seen Bluestar and Whitecloud, so. There's that.

WindClan's leader and deputy have worked together the longest out of any of these pairs, and they're tightly knit. Rookstar has no issue letting Deadfoot take charge of things without asking permission or even consulting with Rookstar, because he's tired and old and he's grateful that his friend and former apprentice has things handled with expertise now. WindClan basically has two leaders right now, and that's a source of comfort for everyone. They can't even imagine having a different deputy at this point.

…Deadfoot 👀 what is his name and role so far? If he has one

he and his wife ashfoot were cattle ranchers! they have a lot of land, going all the way back to windstar and gorsefur.

deadfoot actually lives a little longer than he did in canon. instead of dying shortly after crow was born, he instead lives into crow’s 20s but unfortunately passes away from (unspecified disease here).

he and ashfoot were pretty protective of crow since he was the only one out of four siblings to survive. but eventually he began to fight back, and as a way to keep themselves in his good graces, they gave him a lor more freedom. too much, in fact, as he would jusr wander off for days before coming home. it was definitely stressful but he never got in serious trouble while he was out so they just dealt with it.

deadfoot used to be a rodeo cowboy when he was younger but quit after his oldest son eagle was born.

the longest he went without seeing crow was during the rosdtrip when crow decided on a (slightly drunken) whim to join the gang. as part of their agreement, crow made sure to call in when he could and told them what happened recently. usually deadfoot was the one to pick up the phone and listen to crow ramble on. one time he told crow he was happy he found friends and he would love to meet them some day.

unfortunately he never would, as he fell deathly ill when crow was bunking in TC with bramble. crow had been planning to move in for good and come grsb his sentimentals and clothes from home, but upon receiving the news of desdfoot’s condition he immediately went back on those plans and decided to return home for good. deadfoot passed away with his wife and son by his side. crow now runs the ranch with his mother and wife nightcloud, keeping deadfoot’s photo on the fireplace mantle with crow’s late siblings.
