I’ve always been a fan of vintage clothing, the 60s and 70s always looked so cool, but I find my curves not quite of the era, so I’m always leave feeling disappointed, if you are a size 8 or smaller I know of some amazing designer vintage bargains for you!!! I know they say to wear vintage you need to know an amazing seamstress to re-work for modern, fuller figures, but I’ve decided that to get my fix now that vintage-inspired is the way to go, which is where BOB by Dawn O’Porter comes in. 

This fun line from the writer and TV presenter, named after the famous haircut of the 60s, takes her love for vintage silhouettes and makes them current with quirky prints, including one with dog shit on, statement colours, and flattering, timeless styles. I’m obsessed with her midi skirts and comfortable dresses. 

Last week to celebrate the stars first bricks-and-mortar pop-up on Monmouth Street, which is fast becoming a hub for cool pop-ups, I went down and took part in a #BOBTakeover, where I basically got glammed up to pose in the middle of the street, literally!!!

The pop-up also has a selection of vintage pieces, hand-selected by Dawn. There is a gorgeous Pucci gown that is crying out for a size zero model. But I opted for my favourite piece from her contemporary BOB line, the Jax Shirt Dress, which FYI is in the sale, I’m obsessed with the colour and the long bell sleeves. Also like most of the collection the dress is made in England.

This was such a fun shoot, just look at my 70s-inspired curl-bomb hair that Vidal Sassoon created for me. I was in love with how big my hair looked, always on to a winner with big hair!!! The make-up by Smashbox was also fun with green liner and a bright pop of pink on my lips. Granted a little more crazy than I would go for on a day-to-day look, but if you can’t have fun shooting a style post when can you. 

The dress is so comfortable to wear, I kind of wish I was able to steal it from the shoot, it hides a multitude of sins, which makes it perfect in my eyes, and I love how it worked so well with my New Look lace-up flats, which if you have been struggle to find they are back in stock online, sizes 7 and 8, and I have spotted them in a few stores, so keep searching.
