Braywood Foundation for Youth Welfare
This is the place many stories started in my game. This organisation exists since my time with The Sims 3. Currently there are 3 houses for kidz, teenager and young adult who needed a place to live. House 1 and 2 are for kidz, teenager and young adult found abandoned or from a poor parents home or students needing a living community. House 3 is for toddler and childs only.
The buildings are located in Newcrest. On the title image above you see
Braywood House 1
on the left, the place I park foreign Sims / NPC’s for a while as long as I need them to play, mainly are living girls in. It is an makeover of the lovley 'College  House’ created by                                 gallery name:  DRDS1807
Braywood House 2
on the right, in fact it is the place I bring new characters into game, which have no family tree, they first move in or characters from stories move in on their way to get their own story.
It is one of the most played places in my game, so most stories started here.                    It is an makeover of the lovley ‘Dormitory’ created by                                  gallery name:  fernandasimoes (FS Design) the build is unfortunately not longer availabe in her gallery. In Sims 3 it was another build of course - Jolene Winter (Conroy Clan - story here) and her younger sister Lynn Winter grew up there. Jolene is the ancestor of my Conroy Clan -> start story here she is the wife of Saint Conroy the Clanleader, who, in the story, donates the Braywood Foundation generously and is a member of the board team. Raven BC-Doe (Best-Conroy) - The Wizard of Ravenyard lived here after he left his home, leaving his hated foster father and unfortunatly his siblings behind. He as well is a part of the Conroy Clan not knowing this, cause he is Jaxx Winter-Conroys lost son.

Lynn moved out to follow her career before Raven moved in and before Ben Travain got the responsible youth worker and leader of House 2 (since Sims 4). She met Ben years later during a holiday in Granite Falls and she moved in again, having a relationship with Ben for some years. Before that, she had an affair with David Stone, got pregnant with Chase Winter-Stone, who grew up in House 3 mainly.

Noah Travain moved in the house to his older brother Ben in preperation for his education at Britchester University, were he later studied Culinary Arts and met Chris Kehala at university. Chris moved in Braywood House heavy in love with Noah until both buyed their own home, located in the direct neighborhood.

Short after Noah moved in Magnus Clearwater did as well to follow his football career beside studying computer science, very happy to leave home and the strict father who wants him to force to lead the Clearwater Concern one day. 12 Nov 2018 Fruitmarket Gallery Building Refurbishment
The Fruitmarket Gallery, Edinburgh has appointed Reiach and Hall Architects to lead the refurbishment of its existing gallery building and the opening-up of the neighbouring warehouse building. The project will breathe new life into The Fruitmarket Gallery, and bring the adjacent building into active cultural use.

The proposed redevelopment project will create a brand new space offering new opportunities for artist-led installations, performance and cross artform collaboration including live music, dance and theatre. It will also allow for new facilities for learning and participation and will renovate and revitalise the existing gallery spaces. The project will be completed in 2020.
Edinburgh-based Reiach and Hall Architects won the project against strong competition.

Dr Fiona Bradley OBE, Director of The Fruitmarket Gallery, said: We are really excited to be working with Reiach and Hall on the redevelopment of The Fruitmarket Gallery. We are impressed by the clarity and openness of their approach. They share our values and, like us, are passionately committed to equality of access. They understand the local importance and international impact of The Fruitmarket Gallery, and we believe that they are the right practice to help us deliver a brave and progressive project.
Neil Gillespie, Creative Director of Reiach and Hall, said: The exploration and presentation of contemporary art and art practice at an international level in Scotland is effectively carried by a handful of arts organisations. The Fruitmarket Gallery is a prominent member of this important group.
photo from Richard Murphy Architects
We are delighted to have been selected, against extremely strong and respected architectural practices, to assist The Fruitmarket Gallery in their ambition to extend the scope and breadth of the gallery’s capability, influence and reach.
Amanda Catto, Head of Visual Arts, Creative Scotland, said: The appointment of Reiach and Hall is a key milestone for the gallery, bringing it a step closer to achieving its ambitions for the future. We are delighted to be supporting this development, one of several important visual arts projects taking place in Edinburgh at this time, supported by Creative Scotland through the National Lottery. This development will enhance the existing Fruitmarket gallery space, breathe new life into the adjacent warehouse, and secure this important part of the city’s heritage as a space for artists and the public to meet into the future.
Ed – The previous refurbishment of the gallery, including external lighitng by artist Peter Fink, took place around 2001 and was designed by Richard Murphy Architects (the original architects of the art gallery conversion), with Project Architect being Adrian Welch, e-architect Editor.
The photo at the top of this page is taken by German architect Stefan Schäfer, a part-time collaborator with Adrian Welch on the Edinburgh Architecture website around 2000-2002.
Fruitmarket Edinburgh Gallery
Reiach and Hall beat Carmody Groarke and Page \ Park Architects to this project.
Background
For forty years The Fruitmarket Gallery has been a key part of Scotland’s cultural landscape, showing world-class Scottish and International modern and contemporary art to ever-increasing audiences, last year attracting over 190,000 people to its exhibitions and events. The Fruitmarket Gallery has an international reputation as a successful public organisation. It is committed to providing exciting opportunities and a supportive environment for artists; to creating free, welcoming, inspiring and accessible social spaces for people; and to growing and diversifying the audience for contemporary art and culture.
The Fruitmarket Gallery first identified a need for change around 10 years ago and proposals have been ongoing since then. In 2011 the Gallery was awarded £100,000 Stage One Capital Funding from Creative Scotland to develop plans for improving the building. A further £1,400,000 was ring-fenced subject to the submission of a Stage Two Application and fully developed design and business plans.
In 2013, the Gallery appointed Hoskins Architects through a competitive interview process, also including SHS Burridge, Oliver Chapman Architects, Reiach and Hall Architects, Richard Murphy Architects and Malcolm Fraser Architects, to lead a multi-disciplinary design team to carry out improvements to the Gallery.
The adjacent warehouse building became available when the previous tenants, Waverley Leisure (who ran the building as the nightclub Electric Circus) retired. The Fruitmarket Gallery was given the chance to take over the lease which provided the opportunity to bring the building into cultural use, and Hoskins Architects designed a large scale, ambitious refurbishment and extension. Unfortunately, the Gallery was unable to secure the support from the Heritage Lottery Fund on which the fundraising for this proposal depended, the project was abandoned and Hoskins Architects stepped down.
At this time, the Gallery reassessed their vision and requirements to match the reality of the funding scenario, and carried out a feasibility study into a more modest proposal. This resulted in confirmation from Creative Scotland and other public and private funders who had pledged support for the project that the funding could be retained for this new smaller scheme. The project is now expected to cost around £3.7m. Alongside the successful bid to Creative Scotland for £1.4m, and with over £1.2m raised from other public and private sources, the Gallery has just over 25% left to raise to realise this still ambitious and vital cultural development for Edinburgh.
Fruitmarket Edinburgh Gallery Refurbishment by Reiach and Hall Architects
The Fruitmarket Gallery engaged RIAS Consultancy (The Royal Incorporation of Architects in Scotland) to manage the process of procuring an architect led multi-disciplinary design team through Public Contracts Scotland, to take the project forward. 18 practices submitted a European Single Procurement Document (ESPD) with relevant examples of their work. These were scored by a panel, with the highest scoring four practices – London-based 6A and Carmody Groarke Architects, and Scottish practices Page and Park and Reiach and Hall Architects – invited to interview on their approach.
The panel (which included members of The Fruitmarket Gallery’s staff and Board as well as Andrew Nairne, Director of Kettle’s Yard, Cambridge) were thrilled to have such reputable practices apply. They were hugely impressed with the range, detail and beauty of the architects’ work but were unanimous in their decision that Reiach and Hall best met with the strategic brief of the project and demonstrated the most thorough understanding of the Gallery’s vision for the future.
RIAS Andrew Doolan Best Building in Scotland Award for 2018 : Nucleus
Reiach & Hall Architects win the RIAS Andrew Doolan Best Building in Scotland Award for 2018 with Nucleus, The Nuclear Decommissioning Authority and Caithness Archive in Wick.
The Jury included Ryder Architecture partner Gordon Murray, Anna Lui, director of Tonkin Liu Architects and Murray Kerr, director of Denizen Works.
The panel remarked: “As well as a national archive of the UK’s nuclear power industry, it is also the repository of the social history of Caithness. This building has many stories to tell.
“In an effort to give some depth of context to the rather anonymous site for the building on the edge of an industrial estate, the architects have drawn an allegorical tale on the landscape and big skies of the floe country and the magnificent horizontal light on which is founded the disposition of elements of the building- the pools of water and the triangular forms. However, for this jury, the rootedness of such a building firmly in the social and cultural history was a much more significant allegory. The building is a physical manifestation of the metaphysical, capturing both the identity and the nature of the space of its location.
“At a basic level the building is a sophisticated storage facility ordered along a logical system of servant and served spaces- the archive bunkers. However, it is with the addition of the support facilities and public archive in the triangulated forms, the planes of which shift in the vertical and the horizontal, and in the ‘lochans’ – the pools which signify each progressive level of security in the building, that the building comes alive. The long, triangulated prow creates a unique public space with a grand sense of arrival – this is indeed a public building. The immediate enclosure gives a sense of place where there was no context before.”

A brick wall binds the site enclosing this gathering of human scaled spaces, catching sunlight and creating sheltering places.
