"The Netherlands is pulling even further ahead of its peers in the shift to a recycling-driven circular economy, new data shows.
According to the European Commissionâs statistics office, 27.5% of the material resources used in the country come from recycled waste.
For context, Belgium is a distant second, with a âcircularity rateâ of 22.2%, while the EU average is 11.5% â a mere 0.8 percentage point increase from 2010.
âWe are a frontrunner, but we have a very long way to go still, and weâre fully aware of that,â Martijn Tak, a policy advisor in the Dutch ministry of infrastructure and water management, tells The Progress Playbook.Â
The Netherlands aims to halve the use of primary abiotic raw materials by 2030 and run the economy entirely on recycled materials by 2050. Amsterdam, a pioneer of the âdoughnut economicsâ concept, is behind much of the progress.
Why it matters
The world produces some 2 billion tonnes of municipal solid waste each year, and this could rise to 3.4 billion tonnes annually by 2050, according to the World Bank.
Landfills are already a major contributor to planet-heating greenhouse gases, and discarded trash takes a heavy toll on both biodiversity and human health.
âA circular economy is not the goal itself,â Tak says. âItâs a solution for societal issues like climate change, biodiversity loss, environmental pollution, and resource-security for the country.â
A fresh approach
While the Netherlands initially focused primarily on waste management, âwe realised years ago thatâs not good enough for a circular economy.â
In 2017, the state signed a âraw materials agreementâ with municipalities, manufacturers, trade unions and environmental organisations to collaborate more closely on circular economy projects.
It followed that up with a national implementation programme, and in early 2023, published a roadmap to 2030, which includes specific targets for product groups like furniture and textiles. An English version was produced so that policymakers in other markets could learn from the Netherlandsâ experiences, Tak says.
The programme is focused on reducing the volume of materials used throughout the economy partly by enhancing efficiencies, substituting raw materials for bio-based and recycled ones, extending the lifetimes of products wherever possible, and recycling.
It also aims to factor environmental damage into product prices, require a certain percentage of second-hand materials in the manufacturing process, and promote design methods that extend the lifetimes of products by making them easier to repair.
Thereâs also an element of subsidisation, including funding for âcircular craft centres and repair cafĂ©sâ.
This idea is already in play. In Amsterdam, a repair centre run by refugees, and backed by the city and outdoor clothing brand Patagonia, is helping big brands breathe new life into old clothes.
Meanwhile, government ministries aim to aid progress by prioritising the procurement of recycled or recyclable electrical equipment and construction materials, for instance.
State support is critical to levelling the playing field, analysts say...
Long Road Ahead
The government also wants manufacturers â including clothing and beverages companies â to take full responsibility for products discarded by consumers.
âProducer responsibility for textiles is already in place, but itâs work in progress to fully implement it,â Tak says.
And the household waste collection process remains a challenge considering that small city apartments arenât conducive to having multiple bins, and sparsely populated rural areas are tougher to service.
âGetting the collection system right is a challenge, but again, itâs work in progress.â
...Nevertheless, Tak says wealthy countries should be leading the way towards a fully circular economy as theyâre historically the biggest consumers of natural resources."

"CAPTAIN!" Calis bursted through the doors panting.
"Yes, Calis?"
"Ki- The humans...the human!" they panted.
"The humans?"
"Yes! I have...urgent news about them. Everyone, out."
The control goes quiet. All eyes on the captain and his second in command.
"Give the room to me and Commander Calis." When everyone leaves he sighs and takes a seat in his chair.
"Captain...the human has betrayed us. My scouts who follow General Morbius spotted Kim along with several other humans conversing with him. Numerous times have they seen them together...surely they have betrayed us."
The Captain looks at Calis and pulls out a drink. He sips it. "What I'm about to tell you does not leave this room." He motions for them to sit.
Calis sits and accepts the drink offered by their Captain. Strong yenx.
"When we discovered that Morbius was feeding classified information to enemy forces we had you follow him with your best scouts. And for a time that was sufficient...until recently." Calis nods.
They stopped the general from leaking information but they still have yet to gather enough evidence to charge him with treason. Not only that but he has gotten more cautious and rarely leaves his home when not at work.
"Well we went through the data base of the Coalition looking for clues or evidence to use when I stumbled upon Kim Greene's file. Here," he hands them the electronic document. "you'll see why Kim, along with some other humans, are conversing with the general so much."
Calis read over the document. At first glance it was nothing special. References, personal information, education, etc. normal things. Until they saw the green triangle next to one of the interview questions.
"...Why is she marked down for secret intelligence? In brackets, honorary...what is a honorary secret intelligence?"
"It's because she along with all the other humans you spotted have experience in befriending the enemy in order to report them to their superiors.
During her interview we asked about what was the toughest thing she had to do at her previous job.
The previous child centre she worked at had several people who were spreading false accusations against their fellow co-workers. One even falsely accused her mentor of illegal activity."
"At a child centre??"
"Yes, I can't believe it either. Carrying on, she was rather quiet at the time and always did her duty with a smile so the enemy ignored her. She used that to become a spy of sorts for her superiors who she respected very much.
Eventually she managed to gather enough information for them that they managed to fire and report the enemies to the proper authorities."
"Are the other humans like this?"
"In a way yes. Steven Smith one of our cafeteria chefs, worked at a restaurant as a waiter and has the patience of a god. He can be belittled, insulted, and be stuck in a never ending conversation that would rot your braincells without cracking."
"Something that would be perfect for the general."
"Indeed. Rebecca Cheng, worked at a cleaning service company and has mastered the art of being unseen whenever she wishes. She has caught several of her employers doing illegal acts or being unfaithful to their spouse simply because they forgot all about her.
And that's just the first few, we have at least a dozen of humans like them who are capable of hiding their presence while at the same time capable of 'befriending' the most unpleasant, foul, and infuriating beings."
"I shudder at the thought of going through the training they went through to achieve this."
The Captain regretfully shakes his head. "This wasn't training Commander...this was them adapting so that they may survive."

Reimagining waste management in Fortaleza, Brazil
Fortaleza has almost no citywide waste and recycling infrastructure. Like in many other Brazilian cities, an estimated 8,000 catadores â who are not formally employed by the city â form the backbone of its waste management system, providing most of its pickup services and selling collected recyclables to third parties to earn a living.
While the Brazilian government has made efforts to formalise the job in recent decades, most catadores face hazardous working conditions. Many pull up to 240 kilograms (530 pounds) of waste over the course of an 18-hour workday using hand-drawn carts. Salaries fluctuate based on how much each person collects and what they can sell it for, with the average Fortaleza waste picker often taking in just R$300 (about US$53) a month.
Meanwhile, trash accumulates. In 2023, a mere 6% of Fortalezaâs recyclables ended up in processing facilities, leaving curbsides crammed with trash bags and cardboard boxes. âSometimes, Fortaleza is not a clean city,â admitted local restaurant owner Manu Duvale. âWe live with trash as if itâs nothing.â
But for the past four years, Fortalezaâs recycling problem â and the catadoresâ jobs â have been gradually improving. This is largely thanks to an innovative project called Re-Ciclo led by the Fortaleza governmentâs Innovation Laboratory. And e-tricycle warriors like Aires are powering the change.
Re-Ciclo has worked to both uplift Fortalezaâs catadores and expand its recycling infrastructure by redefining how the city manages waste. Central to this effort is a fleet of electric tricycles that has enabled the cityâs first-ever door-to-door collection service for recyclables while also strengthening its cycling system for all residents.
Re-Ciclo has reimagined what a catador can do.
Through the programme, catadores now collect recyclables along specific routes through the cityâs neighbourhoods, stopping by homes and apartments where residents have requested recycling pick-up. The recyclables are deposited at one of dozens of âeco-pointsâ â a network of collection centres â where they are sorted and cleaned by waste pickers and then sold to recycling intermediaries. Re-Ciclo revamped this once ineffective collection infrastructure to support the programme.
But Re-Ciclo is not just a waste collection program. Itâs also significantly improved the catadoresâ working conditions.
In most cases, better recycling has translated to more efficient work and more stable pay for Re-Ciclo workers. Raquel Silva, president of the Moura Brasil Waste Pickers Association, explained that she can now visit 10-16 collection sites per trip before returning to the eco-points in the same time it used to take her to visit 3-4 sites.
The program also collects data along pick-up routes, enabling catadores to track the volume of their collected recyclables and drive better salary negotiations. Re-Ciclo encourages unaffiliated waste pickers to join associations to drive more collective bargaining power.
Thanks to a more stable income and reliable collection monitoring, most workers now receive significantly higher salaries â up to 500% above previous levels. âToday, the waste collector who is part of Re-Ciclo earns his daily wage for the goals achieved,â Pereira said. â[The waste collector] has transportation vouchers, has meal vouchers, and is now valued.â

The eGroundwater project
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/1d9dd6f10a728931e52581a8599162fa/f67de88981741c5f-f8/s540x810/044db9f216bcad44f5642c3b6024afc9675a85e9.jpg)
Groundwater is at the centre of water management challenges, supplying 65 per cent of drinking water and 25 per cent for agricultural irrigation in the 27 EU Member States.
The main pressures on groundwater are overexploitation and climate change, particularly in regions experiencing urbanisation and population growth, with groundwater depletion leading to a whole host of negative effects.
Like many parts of Southern Europe, southern Portugal is experiencing drought and a decline in rainfall which has impacted the productivity of the region's agricultural sector, explains VĂąnia Sousa, environmental researcher at the University of Algarve.
âWith the effects of climate change, we donât expect the drought to ease. We need to work together on new sustainable solutions to help solve regional water scarcity,â she stressed.
The eGroundwater project
Led by environmental scientists from the University of Algarve and supported with climate data such as irrigation forecasts and historical weather patterns, the âeGroundwaterâ project is a mobile application centred around a collective, citizen-driven approach to ground water management.
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/3bd63c9c6f77f57d91e75d0db2ddf7cd/f67de88981741c5f-09/s540x810/95743d483c946a8bd7be06d8d78acf1a077636a5.jpg)
The eGroundwater platform aims to give farmers and groundwater users consolidated information on the condition of water supplies and technical specifications while also allowing users to upload and share their own data.
The app incorporates seasonal meteorological forecasts from the Copernicus Climate Change Service (C3S) which are used to anticipate cumulative precipitation in agricultural areas. This helps farmers predict their water quota and optimises the use of water during irrigation season.
Additionally, CMIP6 climate projections from C3S are used to communicate future recharge scenarios and anticipate how climate change can impact groundwater levels. This information is presented to groundwater users during workshops, for feedback and to design pathways for adaptation in line with future groundwater availability.
Paradigm shift in water use and management
Innovations such as the eGroundwater application present a paradigm shift in water use and management, putting the power back into the hands of water users. The approach is proving successful in nearby regions including Morocco, Algeria and Spain.
âOne of the most critical issues on groundwater management is data scarcity. Big Data and Enhanced Information Systems (EIS) are key to overcoming this obstacle by providing users and managers useful, precise and sound data and information.â
The platform facilitates water usage simulations, co-building of new management scenarios, setting up of a citizen information system on groundwater availability and dynamics that underpin the eGroundwater solution.

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is partnering with the state of Rio Grande do Sul to operate the Humanitarian Reception Centres (CHA) for people affected by the floods that hit the region at the end of April. Many of those affected have lost their homes and are in need of temporary shelter.
Heavy rains affected more than 2.3 million people in 478 of Rio Grande do Sul's 497 municipalities. Official data estimate that more than 420,000 people were forced to leave their homes; while176 deaths were confirmed and more than 30 people are still missing.
The first three centres, which will open in July (with the first one opened already on July 4), will have a total capacity of around 2,400 people from Porto Alegre and Canoas. Each centre will feature facilities for adults and children, sleeping and breastfeeding rooms, Water Health and Sanitation (WASH) services, laundry, and cafeteria. Public transport, education and health services will also be accessible from the centres.
"IOM is one of the main international organizations in preventing, mitigating and responding to disaster displacement. We will work with the Government of Rio Grande do Sul to manage the reception centres and ensure that the response takes a cross-cutting human rights approach without leaving no one behind," said Stéphane Rostiaux, IOM Brazil Chief of Mission.

New regulations on the screening of non-EU nationals at the blocâs external borders, which come into force this week, could have major implications for migrants and asylum seekersâ privacy rights, campaigners warn.
Ozan Mirkan Balpetek, Advocacy and Communications Coordinator for Legal Centre Lesvos, an island in Greece on the so-called Balkan Route for migrants seeking to reach Western Europe, says the new pact âwill significantly expand the Eurodac database [European Asylum Dactyloscopy Database], creating overlaps with other databases, such as international criminal records accessible to police forcesâ.
âSpecific provisions of the pact directly undermine GDPR regulations that protect personal data from being improperly processed,â Balpetek told BIRN. âThe pact only expands existing rights violations, including data breaches. Consequently, information shared by asylum seekers can be used against them during the asylum process, potentially leading to further criminalization of racialized communities,â he added.
The European Council confirmed the deal in May, and it should start being implemented in June 2026.
This legislation sets out new procedures for managing the arrival of irregular migrants, processing asylum applications, determining the EU country responsible for these applications, and devising strategies to handle migration crises.
The pact promises a ârobustâ screening at the borders to differentiate between those people deemed in need of international protection and those who are not.
The screening and border procedures will mandate extensive data collection and automatic exchanges, resulting in a regime of mass surveillance of migrants. Reforms to the Eurodac Regulation will mandate the systematic collection of migrantsâ biometric data, now including facial images, which will be retained in databases for up to 10 years. The reform also lowers the thresholder for storing data in the system to the age of six.
Amnesty International in Greece said the new regulation âwill set back European asylum law for decades to comeâ.
âThese proposals come hand in hand with mounting efforts to shift responsibility for refugee protection and border control to countries outside of the EU â such as recent deals with Tunisia, Egypt, and Mauritania â or attempts to externalize the processing of asylum claims to Albania,â the human rights organisation told BIRN.
âThese practices risk trapping people in states where their human rights will be in danger, render the EU complicit in the abuses that may follow, and compromises Europeâs ability to uphold human rights beyond the bloc,â it added.
NGOs working with people in need have been warning for months that the pact will systematically violate fundamental principles, resulting in a proliferation of rights violations in Europe.
Jesuit Refugee Services, including its arm in Croatia, said in April in a joint statement that it âcannot support a system that will enable the systematic detention of thousands of people, including children, at the EUâs external borders.
âThe proposed legislation will exponentially increase human suffering while offering no real solutions to current system deficiencies,â JRS said.
Despite criticism, the European Parliament adopted the regulation in April.
Individuals who do not meet the entry requirements will be registered and undergo identification, security, and health checks. These checks are to be completed within seven days at the EUâs external borders and within three days for those apprehended within the EU.
Under the new system, EU member states can either accept a minimum of 30,000 asylum applicants annually or contribute at least 20,000 euros per asylum applicant to a joint EU fund.
After screening, individuals will be swiftly directed into one of three procedures: Border Procedures, Asylum Procedures, or Returns Procedures.

Indiaâs Tech Sector to Create 1.2 Lakh AI Job Vacancies in Two Years
Indiaâs technology sector is set to experience a hiring boom with job vacancies for artificial intelligence (AI) roles projected to reach 1.2 lakh over the next two years. As the demand for AI latest technology increases across industries, companies are rapidly adopting advanced tools to stay competitive. These new roles will span across tech services, Global Capability Centres (GCCs), pure-play AI and analytics firms, startups, and product companies.
Following a slowdown in tech hiring, the focus is shifting toward the development of AI. Market analysts estimate that Indian companies are moving beyond Proof of Concept (PoC) and deploying large-scale AI systems, generating high demand for roles such as AI researchers, product managers, and data application specialists. âWe foresee about 120,000 to 150,000 AI-related job vacancies emerging as Indian IT services ramp up AI applications,â noted Gaurav Vasu, CEO of UnearthInsight.
India currently has 4 lakh AI professionals, but the gap between demand and supply is widening, with job requirements expected to reach 6 lakh soon. By 2026, experts predict the number of AI specialists required will hit 1 million, reflecting the deep integration of AI latest technology into industries like healthcare, e-commerce, and manufacturing.
The transition to AI-driven operations is also altering the nature of job vacancies. Unlike traditional software engineering roles, artificial intelligence positions focus on advanced algorithms, automation, and machine learning. Companies are recruiting experts in fields like deep learning, robotics, and natural language processing to meet the growing demand for innovative AI solutions. The development of AI has led to the rise of specialised roles such as Machine Learning Engineers, Data Scientists, and Prompt Engineers.

AI professionals also enjoy higher compensation compared to their traditional tech counterparts. Around 80% of AI-related job vacancies offer premium salaries, with packages 40%-80% higher due to the limited pool of trained talent. âThe low availability of experienced AI professionals ensures that artificial intelligence roles will command attractive pay for the next 2-3 years,â noted Krishna Gautam, Business Head of Xpheno.
Candidates aiming for AI roles need to master key competencies. Proficiency in programming languages like Python, R, Java, or C++ is essential, along with knowledge of AI latest technology such as large language models (LLMs). Expertise in statistics, machine learning algorithms, and cloud computing platforms adds value to applicants. As companies adopt AI latest technology across domains, candidates with critical thinking and AI adaptability will stay ahead so it is important to learn and stay updated with AI informative blogs & news.
Although companies are prioritising experienced professionals for mid-to-senior roles, entry-level job vacancies are also rising, driven by the increased use of AI in enterprises. Bootcamps, certifications, and academic programs are helping freshers gain the skills required for artificial intelligence roles. As AI development progresses, entry-level roles are expected to expand in the near future. AI is reshaping the industries providing automation & the techniques to save time , to increase work efficiency.Â
Indiaâs tech sector is entering a transformative phase, with a surge in job vacancies linked to AI latest technology adoption. The next two years will witness fierce competition for AI talent, reshaping hiring trends across industries and unlocking new growth opportunities in artificial intelligence. Both startups and established companies are racing to secure talent, fostering a dynamic landscape where artificial intelligence expertise will be help in innovation and growth. AI will help organizations and businesses to actively participate in new trends.

Lumpen Theory : Genealogy of a Panoptilumpenism (Part 2)

The conception of the Lumpenproletariat as pure âleechesâ or âburdensâ as Marx would have them for most of the development of his theory, does nothing but reaffirm, and in a sense justify, the virtual-colonial exploitation of one of the most miserable elements ever conceived by humanity. Sadly, at no point could the JNLâs perspective become a majority in any capacity, and even intellectual circles have fallen off with the idea of considering such an avant-garde scene as relevant or possibly interesting for the furthering of class analysis. Our modern Technocapital advancements have proven these conceptions of the Lumpenproletariat as an ever expanding entity and conception, one that is really up to date with the tendencies and evolutions of the market and the productive forces subordinated to it. Lumpenization as a process is, inherently, a modern phenomenon. Capitalism devolved into a commodity driven mechanism at the middle of the 20th century, as the ones like Debord denoted. The construction of such a strong baseline and spectacular culture towards the commodity itself was only done once the development of the modules of capitalism settled and could bring out a certain âabundanceâ of said commodities. Via this, there was a certain death of the industrial core of capitalism. Not in its literal sense, capitalism had retained and even amplified its destructive industrial capacities and vision, but because the directive threat of both the liberal art of governing and the becoming-sentient technocapital advancements had done were no longer centred on pure industry, it was accompanied by more than purely that. As this, the 80âs and the beginning of neoliberal uniformist globalisation began the process of the creation of the service economy, now with the working force of the western first world being driven towards the new disciplinary form of embankment : the cubicle and the office. Via this, the fragmentation of what was the proletariat began diving directly into the realm of biopower itself : no longer was pure labour alienation the issue for these now obsolete western factory workers, the whole recuperated war machine of the state and its newly developed labour controlling arms are purposely transforming the scenarios in which these labourers operate, and hence delving them deeper into what can only be considered an entropic mess of an economic transformation. The welfare state, now that the productivist social democratic compromise had become completely overridden by total business ontology, the logical step was to turn the lives of these producers into one of total alienation inside the realm of non-existent production and pure data recuperation and management. The 21st century, via its enormous decentralisation and increased fluidity in the forms that Technocapital seeks to take in the larger and broader scheme of things, began creating a new form of production, inside and at the same time outside of the service economy : the previously mentioned data collecting in favour of the concentrating and newly appearing âRentier bourgeoisieâ, as B. Ceka would come to call them. For her, these newly uses of data in order to reinforce the structural integrity and reach of technocapital itself are nothing but a new form of labour exploitation, directly via the involvement of this newly imprisoned proletarian force, but also by the Lumpenproletariat, primary subjects of such experimentation and dabbling. You see, the Lumpenization that takes place by both the death of the industrial 1st world and its impossibility of incorporation into the new service economy is a direct consequence and desired result of the development of new forms of capitalism. Via this, we can encounter the programmed death of the service economy, one in which Panoptilumpenism is applied into its full potential force.
No longer can we suffice for data management, that data must be used, it must be rhizomatically consumed into the new apparatuses of the internet and AI. Seka retains the core parts of the Landian fear of expansion of Technocapital towards âsentienceâ and autonomy, and applies it to a deeply Lumpenizing realisation : no longer is any part of the population free from violent forms of both control and exploitation, in the most decentralised forms possible to conceive.Â
Andrew Culp detested the Rhizome for what it had become, a past realisation of what now is recuperated at the hands of the capitalist directors of the technocapital enterprise. The rhizomatic structure of what Deleuze wanted was now realised, in the entirely worst way possible. The hand of the rising Lumpenproletariat is being forced by the same theorist that could be key to their self-immediate Anarchoscape from the eye of the cybernetic biopower now applied deeply to its own core.
We can conceive of the business ontology that had developed alongside technocapital, has now gained speed and was faced by much less Lumpen-Guided resistance, meaning that it was now more ingrained than ever in our era of cybernetic biopower. This development led to the pursuit of the delegation of economic responsibility, one in which the role of the Panoptilumpenist actions of the neoliberal economy became the forming of the âentrepreneurâ in every factor of the population, but most concretely inside the Lumpen. The Lumpen, via this new form of virtual-colonial expansion, become their own responsibles for their economic activity, essentially starting what many like to call âthe gig economyâ, but what in reality is nothing but the true decentralisation of the realm of data management and its business-ontological application.
The profit motive becomes then the only guideline and prerogative of the Lumpen , one not enforced but suggested to them, not inherently tying them to a fixed and rigid industrial and bureaucratic labour form; but now one that is so flexible that it delves into the total non-existence of the personal life once enjoyed by the common proletariat. The continuation of the Lumpen as a liberated subject, on the outskirts of the labour productions remains true, as the Lumpenproletariat, with the delegation of economic power and capacities, have become themselves the only actors involved in their newly found subsistence. The common Uber eats driver, mostly exploited for being commonly of a cultural minority already segregated and pushed in many cases towards Lumpenization, that has found no solution but to collect and infinity of other gig jobs of spontaneous occurrence, of fluid continuation and of tremendous psychological strain becomes the new martyr of our movement, or at the very least it should become so. This one common fighter of the world has turned into a pure state of resistance towards this Panoptilumpenism, a pure form of revolt against what it is, essentially : a brutal regulation of the existence of a group nowadays conforming a majority of the worldâs population, and sooner than later, will become the active actors in the taking down of Technocapital, in the heroic death that can so descriptively be defined an aesthetic projection towards the imposition of a deep desire towards pure affirmation. What Is Cloud Hosting?
When it came to hosting websites and applications, it used to be as simple as subscribing to a digital platform provider and, in essence, renting the usage of a single server or computer cluster. The existence of web hosting services dates back to the beginning of the internet itself. Over the course of the past ten years, cloud hosting has emerged as a major way for bringing digital assets online. Cloud hosting is a method in which the website or application is hosted on virtual servers that are distributed over the cloud.
A wide range of solutions for hosting websites and applications are available through Google Cloud. These solutions include the capability to register and maintain a domain, as well as the option to connect to a worldwide content delivery network in order to provide users with content that is optimized for performance and has the lowest possible latency.
Why should you use cloud hosting?
Website and application administrators are able to add or delete resources as needed thanks to cloud hosting. Additionally, this comprises additional random-access memory (RAM), storage capacity, or support services such as data storage or security. Hosting in the cloud offers increased dependability and flexibility at an affordable price. When compared to shared or dedicated hosting on a single server, cloud hosting offers greater data backup and disaster recovery capabilities.
The traditional dedicated server approach, which requires businesses to construct and run their own data centers, can be replaced with the cloud hosting model, which represents a more cost-effective option. In the traditional paradigm, servers and storage are located on the premises, and they are equipped with specialized hardware and virtual resources. This can be an expensive price for enterprises, both in terms of capital expenditures and running costs.
How does hosting on the cloud works?
When compared to regular web hosting, cloud hosting operates in a different manner. In the latter case, a centralized strategy is often utilized, in which a single web server is responsible for hosting several websites. Your website may experience a sudden increase in traffic from a neighbouring website if you utilize traditional hosting because the computer power and storage space are shared among customers of the hosting service. Cloud hosting services, on the other hand, make use of virtualization, which results in the partitioning of a physical server into several virtual servers. In order to host a website, it makes use of a network of servers, which guarantees superior performance and stability in comparison to hosting services that just employ a single server.
Several benefits of using cloud hosting â
Through cloud hosting, businesses are able to realize significant savings in terms of both capital and operational expenses. This is due to the fact that they do not have to pay a significant amount of money on the initial capital cost that is involved with the ownership and management of data centres. Another advantage is that the process of storing data for an extended period of time becomes less complicated, which eliminates the need for expensive administration of disks and tape systems.
Data protection advantages, such as high availability and disaster recovery, are available to businesses who make use of cloud hosting services. A hybrid approach, which combines elements of compute and storage resources that are located on the premises with those that are located in the environment of a best cloud hosting service provider, is preferred by many enterprises.
The cloud hosting also provides additional advantages as given below-
The price
When it comes to cloud hosting, the pay-as-you-go approach is frequently utilized, which means that the charges can be adjusted up or down based on the amount of usage. Web hosting, on the other hand, is often based on a set charge that is paid either monthly or annually.
Capacity to Grow
As a result of the fact that cloud hosting does not rely on a single server to store and distribute information, it is simple to scale up to match the requirements of a website or application. This is accomplished by spinning up additional servers across the cloud network when the quantity of usage increases.
Performance as well as dependability
It is possible to achieve high levels of reliability and uptime with best cloud hosting services because it makes use of a large number of servers that are dispersed over the cloud network. Other servers on the network are able to step in and continue to provide service in the event that one of the servers fails. Additionally, cloud hosting offers improved performance because it utilizes servers located in many countries to provide material to customers in a more expedient manner.
Security
The best cloud hosting service providers offer comprehensive physical and virtual security measures for the servers that are part of their network. These measures safeguard website and application data from being accessed by malicious actors. A number of different security layers are utilized in cloud hosting. These layers include firewalls, identity management and access control, Secure Sockets Layers (SSL) for data transmission, and more.
Flexibility
Best Cloud hosting gives users the ability to rapidly provision the parameters of virtual machines across the network, which gives them the freedom to pick the solution that is most suitable for any given circumstance.
Comparing web hosting to cloud hosting-
Web hosting in the traditional sense is often performed on a single server, which stores all of the files and content associated with the website of interest. When a user visits a domain, the documents and files are downloaded by a web browser associated with that domain.
Shared, dedicated, managed, and virtual private server (VPS) settings are the four basic types of environments that are available for web hosting accounts. When a single server is shared among a large number of different domains that are connected to the internet, this type of web hosting service is referred to as shared web hosting. On account of the fact that the various websites share the cost of the server, this is the most cost-effective of the available hosting solutions.
Shared hosting, on the other hand, restricts the scalability of individual websites because they are only able to utilize the resources of a single server. Dedicated hosting is a solution to this issue. In this type of hosting, a domain rents one or more servers that are not shared with any other websites or apps. However, the client is often responsible for administering the server on their own.
A managed hosting service is comparable to a dedicated hosting service; however, the hosting provider is responsible for all aspects of server management, including backup services, software and hardware upgrades, and security measures. Websites and apps that do not have the in-house skills necessary to maintain a server can benefit from managed hosting service because it streamlines the maintenance process.
There is a comparison of differences between best web hosting and affordable cloud hosting. First and foremost, when it comes to web hosting service, if a website requires additional resources as a result of growing demand, the customer is required to modify their service plan in order to accommodate the additional computing power, which creates a problem with scalability.
The best cloud hosting service provider makes it possible to distribute the content of a website across numerous virtual servers located in various areas. Additionally, it is simple to scale up the service in response to an increase in demand. As a result of this, cloud hosting is not only more durable and reliable than web hosting service, but it also provides greater freedom to alter the parameters according to the requirements of the situation.
How to choose best cloud hosting service provider?
It is important to take into consideration a variety of aspects when selecting a hosting service, including pricing, performance, scalability, reliability, security, and customer support. First, you should determine the unique demands and objectives of your company, and then you should examine the services offered by a number of different cloud hosting companies. Look for reviews and testimonials from previous customers to get an idea of how satisfied users are with the product.
Hosting in the cloud features-
Cloud computing allows for the deployment of applications and solutions on a network rather than on a single server located on the premises.
When user needs are met, resources can be scaled up.
Only the resources that are utilized by an organization are subject to payment.
SQL databases, including MySQL, as well as NoSQL databases can be supported via cloud hosting.
User interfaces (APIs), web portals, and mobile applications are utilized in order to automate and control solutions.
Conclusion-
When it comes to managing a website, affordable cloud hosting makes use of a virtual setup consisting of servers. When compared to conventional web hosting service, it provides enhanced reliability and reduces the likelihood of hardware failure and malfunction. The end result is consistent performance on the website.
For the construction of large-scale projects, such as enterprise websites, eCommerce businesses, social networks, and aggregator platforms, affordable cloud hosting is the best solution. In addition, a managed cloud hosting solution does not necessitate any prior technical expertise whatsoever.
