Finally getting around to watching it, half thanks to Kaja, half thanks to my dash for reminding me that it existed... And let me just say holy shit. Shit that is a lot of people and a lot of props and a lot of costumes and backdrops and fog and music to put on at a CONVENTION. IN POLAND. The Polish YOI fandom does not fuck around @ kaja and kat, I'm so proud. • that one post is right, the JJ cosplayer really does look like Gerard Way • any time Chris is on stage I can't help but fucking cackle. They are ridiculous in the best possible way. • omg they are doing it to songs from Grease, I am LIVING. (Also, fun fact, I am using a song from Grease for Yuuri's Exhibition in my fanfic Love Letters, and I chose that even before this came out) • um Yuuri's parents are absolutely perfect??? Like shit they might be the best cosplayers in the whole thing. Like nothing against anyone else, they are just crazy perfect??? • wow Mari and Minako are fucking savage • wait, Papa Katsuki.... Was that a sexual innuendo right there...? @ the skate cover scene??? Holy shit • also, commentary from @ 8:26 into the musical, I really like how it follows canon but takes LIBERTIES. Like the person who made this obviously did their research on movies to musicals, because while still following the same story line of the original work, you can change small things, or alter the time line and it still works. And honestly, probably makes it even BETTER since you are sitting through Brand New source material... Rather than a complete retelling of the story you already know by heart (@ 90% of canon compliant Yuri on Ice fanfictions) • Fuck @ the titanic kazoo scene • I can't believe the English captions literally wrote Yuuri's groan as "aghaskjsd" and "efdjslkds" I love accurate keyboard smashes. • Holy SHIT that Yuri cosplayer, I am CRYING. Like I thought I would love them from the opening number, but this just got BETTER. • Yuri "Here's an itemized list of thirty years of disagreements" Plisetsky • Also come on 5th position/pageant feet @ Yuri • im shook @ Victor's vocals • okay, so far the only thing that I'm not a fan of, is how AWKWARD they made Yuuri. Like I understand that you can't expect your cosplayers to dance, but like... Yuuri is awkward personality wise. He doesn't have two left feet. He falls on his jumps, but is RENOWNED for his step sequences, which means he is graceful. But oh well, if that's the only thing I can complain about halfway through? then this is fucking amazing. • damn that's an accurate Yakov. • those are some really cute cosplay photos that they are using as an interlude/quick change break • also, the Polish version of History Makers is LITTTTTTT. I'm not a big fan of Dean Fujioka's vocals, and I didn't start liking History Makers until the 3rd time I watched Yuri on Ice all the way through, but I really like this version. It's super good. Second Act??? I'm assuming??? • OH SHIT ITS CHRIS. I LOVE. • wait is that supposed to be Phichit??? I'm confused. Like that's the only person who I can think that would be, but I'm still confused. • oh my god I'm still screaming at Chris • okay good, I was wondering if there was gonna be an Otabek. Also, wtf he looks like my friend Sarah's boyfriend Will. • god damn it JJ • OKAY YESSSS THEY ARE USING "You're the one that I want" IM SO HAPPY. NOW I CAN ACTUALLY PROMOTE THE YURI ON ICE MUSICAL WITH MY FIC (even though I'm using a VERY different version of the song. But still) • OH SWEET the Chris and JJ and Otabek cosplayers are actually in their skate costumes, I'm LIT. (Yuri and Yuuri are too, but i expected them to be) • WAIT okay the Phichit cosplayer is too. I'm super glad, because since there is no "Team Thailand" jacket (since he is the only one), the black wig, black pants and black jacket were very indistinguishable. Now I'm happy because I can actually tell they are Phichit. • YES TEAR AWAY PANTS!!!!!!!!! I am so here for this • also diddly damn, @ the Yuri cosplayer. That's a damn good Agape cosplay, and I applaud you for crossplaying WITH AN OPEN BACKED COSTUME. Like shit 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 • omg that's so cute with the flags • wait they had the flags on the ground, is that okay?!?!?!?!!? Oh god I don't want them to get in trouble or have to ceremoniously burn flags just for a theatre performance. Like that's a pain in the ass. (Or is that just an America thing????????????) • omg Kaja, the person who designed the set/scenery has your name!! I have no idea how common that exact spelling is in Poland, but I still think that's cool. • omg Phichit's curtain call was super cute • I'm lowkey mad that the JJ didn't throw up the "JJ" sign for the curtain call. Like lowkey, but still. • I'm crying, the Otayuri curtain call was fucking perfect AAAAHHHHHHHH THAT WAS SO CUTE I LOVED IT EVERYBODY NEEDS TO GO WATCH THE YURI ON ICE MUSICAL RIGHT NOW. IT HAS ENGLISH SUBS, SO THERE IS NO REASON YOU SHOULD NOT!!!!
