Sometimes I do just buy a book because the cover art or typeface is cool. That's how I ended up with only book three of Marcia J. Bennett's Ni-Lach series, Beyond the Draak's Teeth. I love the dragon-y font on the tile, and the cover art by Darrell K. Sweet is, fittingly, very sweet. Have you ever heard of or read this series?

Mass-market Monday | Philip K. Dick’s Martian Time-Slip
Martian Time-Slip, Philip K. Dick. Ballantine Books, second printing (1976). Cover art by Darrell K. Sweet. 220 pages. I riffed on the novel a decade ago, writing, Time-Slip rockets into rhetorical reverberation, cycling its final chapters into a strange decay. The timeslips jar the reader’s narrative perception—Hey wait, didn’t I already read this?—unsettling expectations, and ultimately…
