The game featured the fourth horseman, Strife, as a playable character alongside War, the protagonist of the first “Darksiders” game. “Darksiders Genesis” replaced the traditional third-person view with a top-down camera and twin-stick shooter controls. The game never received a fully-fledged sequel, but a spin-off title called “Darksiders Genesis” was released for the PC, PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and Google Stadia. Some critics noted that while “Darksiders 3” isn’t a bad game, it definitely didn’t move the franchise forward in a favorable direction.

It was also criticized for its meager RPG mechanics, rudimentary puzzles and technical issues for both PC and consoles. The game’s combat was praised for its pace, responsiveness and visceral feel, but it was criticized for being too simplistic and unchallenging. The RPGs Switch version bears a 39.99 price tag and is slated to launch digitally and at retail, THQ Nordic revealed in a press release. Come September 30, Nintendo Switch fans will finally have a chance to get their hands on Darksiders III. “Darksiders 3” received mixed reviews that are slightly skewed toward the positive end of the spectrum. Soon enough, Switch fans will get to explore it all for themselves. The game retains much of the Metroidvania-style exploration and progression system as seen in the previous series entries, but the combat was refreshed and reimagined, now emphasizing intense back-and-forth trading of blows against single targets instead of fighting off large groups at a time. Players will experience the game as Fury, the third horseman of the apocalypse, as she hunts down the demonic manifestations of the seven deadly sins on a devasted Earth. Darksiders 3 features a more measured version of the series' signature style of action-combat THQ NordicĪs the third game in the series, “Darksiders 3” offered a fresh new perspective on the ongoing biblical apocalypse and the web of intrigue that caused it all.

THQ Nordic and Airship Syndicate today unveiled the first top-down action adventure in Darksiders franchise history, Darksiders Genesis. Scheduled for release on PC, PlayStation 4, the Xbox One family of devices, including the Xbox One X, Nintendo Switch and Google Stadia later this year, Darksiders Genesis will be playable for consumers at E3 2019 in THQ Nordic booth #823 in the South Hall.

In Darksiders Genesis, the fourth Horseman of the Apocalypse STRIFE is called upon to save humankind from certain destruction at the hands of Lucifer. True to its roots, Darksiders Genesis will feature intense combat, exploration, puzzle-solving, epic boss battles and serpent holes from heaven to hell. The game marks the first, full-scale Darksiders adventure played from the top-down perspective.

Darksiders Genesis ilk olarak Stadia ve PC'de oynanacak

2019 yılına kadar Darksiders serisi kendine has bir oyuncu kitlesine sahip olan, üçüncü şahıs aksiyon ve platform oyunu olarak akıllarda yer edinmişti. Ancak E3 2019 konferansının düzenlenmesinin ardından THQ Nordic isimli geliştirici stüdyo, serinin son ve muhtemelen en kaliteli oyunu olan Darksider Genesis’i duyurmuştu. Seriye yeni bir bakış açısı da kazandıran bu oyunun ne zaman ve hangi platformlarda görücüye çıkacağı ise şimdilerde netlik kazandı.

Görünen o ki PC ve Google Stadia platformlarına sahip olan oyuncular, Darksiders Genesis’i diğer platformlardan bir süre daha erken oynama şansını elde edecekler.

Strife ile tanıştınız mı?

Bilmeyenler ve Darksiders serisiyle henüz tanışmamış olanlar için kısaca oyunu tanıtmakta fayda var. Darksiders Genesis’te mahşerin dördüncü atlısı olarak tanımlanan Strife isimli ana karakteri yönlendiriyoruz. Bundan önce çıkmış olan 3 ayrı Darksiders oyunundaki hikayenin aksine Darksiders Genesis’le serinin başlangıcına gidiyoruz. Hikaye modu hayli sürükleyici olan oyunda co-op, yani arkadaşınızla ortaklaşa ilerleme seçeneği de mevcut.

Bugüne dek seride omuz üstü bakış açısı kullanılıyordu. Ancak Darksiders Genesis’te bu durum değişti ve Diablo veya Torchlight gibi RPG’lerden aşina olduğumuz kuş bakışı açısına geçildi. Aradan geçen 10 yılın ve 3 farklı oyunun ardından bu değişikliğin Genesis’e ferah bir nefes aldırdığı söylenebilir.

Bu arada Strife, macerasında yalnız olmayacak. İlk oyunların ana karakterleri arasında yer alan War da ona eşlik edecek. Diablo sevenlerin muhtemelen 5 yıldız vereceği oyunun Steam’de yayınlanması bekleniyor. Ancak şuan için bu bilgi kesinlik kazanmış değil.

Darksiders Genesis “Introducing War” Trailer

Darksiders Genesis takes place well before the events of the first Darksiders game. Lucifer is trying to upset the Balance by granting power to master demons in Hell. Well, the four horsemen aren’t going to stand for those shenanigans. 

In Darksiders Genesis players can choose between War and Strife battle angels and demons. In single player mode games can switch between the two characters or find a friend and play in two-player co-op mode.

Darksiders Genesis Releasing This December for PC, Stadia

Airship Syndicate’s top-down, co-op spin on the Darksiders series, in the form of Darksiders Genesis, will be one of the games to close out 2019 it seems. At least, on certain platforms. Publisher THQ Nordic have confirmed that the game — set before the events of the first game, and introduces the fourth-and-final horsemen Strife, alongside his brother War — will set its sights on both PC and Google’s Stadia platform.

Brief thoughts on E3 so far:

---Aerith is haunted by ghosts... spooky.

---Keanu Reeves versus Norman Reedus, who will win?

---DooM Eternal is hype, even if I suck at DooM games.

---Babylon’s Fall, Eldin Ring, Tales of Arise seem like potential, still waiting on Code Vein too.

---Will keep an eye on Darksiders Genesis (dual stick shmups are uncommon, but a Darksiders Shmup seems cool, like Blaster Master levels of cool).  Also, it seems THQNordic owns the rights to Guardian Legend... I must pursue this lead and get them to make a sequel.

---Not sure my stance on Game Streaming since the Google Stadia is essentially tanking at this point.  I just upload videos I like, that’s all.

---My backlog of Wishlist games still needs to be filled, as I have my eye on several other games on Steam as well.
