got out of blighttown and decided i wanted to be above ground for a bit so i unlocked that door in the forest and the little mushroom guys….. im sorry this is the first enemy in the game i refuse to kill. their parents i mean like the little guys are non hostile so i dont wanna fight their parents either. i just spent like maybe 5 minutes following them around and cooing a little

help I killed moonlight butterfly so I went down to darkroot basin tried to attack the guy in the tower basement but did like 2 points of damage to him every swing so I left and got sniped by the hydra a bunch of times then finally went up to fight it but theres a cliff underneath it so I fell and died so I ran past it instead and climbed a ladder but ended up sprinting around a dark forest past a million grass people a giant angry cat and 2 insane npcs and finally died because the wizard sniped me with magic. no bonfire in sight. something tells me I’m not supposed to be here yet

I may not have the drawing skills to depict my Dark Souls OC in artwork, but I do feel confident enough to voice act her as if she were an NPC in the game!

This here consists of all the possible dialogue Leiurus the Scorpion can say to the player during their first encounter with her in the tunnel connecting the Valley of Drakes with Darkroot Basin, including attacked/aggro lines for flavor ⚔️

Further explanation of the encounter/dialogue below the cut:

This encounter is triggered at either entrance/exit to the tunnel when the player first ventures into it. Leiurus would essentially spawn in and begin speaking up behind them, stopping when the player turns around to speak to her. She will always stop following once she reaches the tunnel's bonfire.

If she is attacked before the player speaks to her, she plead with the player not to attack and automatically begin the conversation (with altered dialogue as well). Leiurus will only aggro if she has taken enough damage after this initial conversation.

Answering "Yes" or "No" to whether or not you think her hair is made of poison does not affect the rest of her quest line, but answering "Yes" will lock you out of hearing the remaining conversations, as she will no longer be in the mood to talk to you.

The bribe Leiurus gives varies depending on which path the player first takes into the tunnel. If the player enters from Darkroot Basin she'll give a standard titanite shard, but if they arrive via the elevator in the Valley of Drakes she will instead give a twinkling titanite.

Now that I have rung Bell One I decided to go deeper because who the hell knows where the abyss or whatever the other Bell is in lives. Going through Darkroot Garden, found the secret living tree that lets you into a weird garden of frogs and killed a knight and took his Wolf ring. It says that belonged to Artorias and I feel like the giant stone knight I fought was. Not Artorias. From what I know.

(note to future self. You need to come back this way later, there was a second route through the forest if you don't stab that tree. It's the branch if you head straight on from the blacksmith below Undead Parish rather than turning around towards the Darkroot Basin.)

Also before this found a door locked by "A Contraption" which I think might be the thing the blacksmith sells for 20000 souls?

I am an extremely easily spooked person, the amount of effort it takes for a game to put me on edge is basically zero, so Darkroot is extremely creepy. But it has pigeons so it's good.

Wandered the other way, got bodied by a black knight on the way down through Darkroot Basin, recovered my souls and went the other way.

I have found a Hydra. It is big and spits water and hates me in particular. It is also friends with a bunch of ice jocks. The ice jocks are pushovers but I tried to get a closer look at the Hydra and got absolutely destroyed. I think I'm meant to just walk past this for now and I will do that, next time.

In Ds1 i beat the gargoyles & rang the first bell. I also unlocked the darkroot basin, apparently i’m 10% into the game according to my friend but it doesn’t feel that way to me still feels like 4% but i guess i fought 3 bosses so far so it makes sense. The one thing that confuses me is armor it feels like nothing that drops is better than what i got at the beginning of that game but who knows that might change.

Cheesed the Capra demon, beat the bell gargoyles and moonlight butterfly and I think I'm about to do something in the Darkroot Basin?
