If you were to come up with a fan cast for the knife polycule, who would you cast? Or if you’re not into the whole live action adaptation idea, which voice actors would you pick?

I'll admit, this ask was a little tough for me because I'm not great with fancasts. I ended up favoring VA choices because I play two games with a large cast I can easily pull from.

Jarlaxle: Jarlaxle was actually my easiest choice. I went with Josey Montana McCoy, which if you do know VAs you know voices Kaeya Alberich from Genshin Impact. I will concede McCoy's voice is a little higher than I imagine Jarlaxle's voice (I see him with more of a baritone rather than a tenor) but the cadence and light, kinda flirty tone is on point.

Artemis: Darien Sills-Evans, purely for the voice he uses for Pyke in League of Legends and Legends of Runeterra, which I truly adore and think matches Artemis really well.

Kimmuriel: Kimmuriel was really hard because while his voice is even-toned, he has a level of charisma and meanness that I wanted to make sure was captured. I went with Patrick Pedraza, who voices Scaramouche/The Wanderer in Genshin Impact and really nails this really solid meanness, faking cordiality, and keeping a level tone regardless I was looking for.

Zaknafein: I agonized for a while over picking one, admittedly because I wasn't 100% certain on my choice for a voice. I did go with my first choice, Gavin Hammon, because his voice for Pantheon in League of Legends is pretty close to on-point for Zaknafein.

I will also admit to not dying on the hill of these fancasts, especially since I literally just picked from two video games.

Superior Donuts (S01E04) Trust Me Airdate: February 20, 2017 @cbs Ratings: 6.707 Million :: 1.21 18-49 Demo Score: 4/10 *******************AND*************** Superior Donuts (S01E05) Takin' It to the Streets Airdate: February 27, 2017 @cbs Ratings: 6.353 Million :: 1.19 18-49 Demo Score: 3.25/10 ***********SPOILERS BELOW*********** ***Superior Donuts (S01E04) Trust Me*** No doubt there's humor within 'Superior Donuts', but the writing is just incredibly loose... Most of the jokes work, really, it's surprisingly funny, but they are either airing episodes out of order or the writing is even messier than we see. Just last week Franco & his buddy, Sweatpants, are breaking into Arthur's home (in multiple ways) to prove how vulnerable his home is to intruders. Franco follows his around like a man who's been in his life and developed a strong bond for years, begging him to be safe because he is just so worried about him, everything from his home security to making bank deposits. Maybe that's why they saw it fitting to slide this episode right after, where Franco wants more responsibilities, including taking money to the bank... Which, any business owner, wouldn't let anyone do after only working for them for two weeks. Conveniently, for storyline purposes only, Franco is robbed by Crackhead Kevin, '1/6th of the Crackdashians'. And conveniently, for storyline purposes, Arthur had only put $30 in the bag & told him it was $700. When Franco returns, beat up by Crackhead Kevin's immaculate crackhead strength (guys, for the record, crackheads are unusually weak, from the crack and then lack of crack), Arthur let's it slip to Fawz what he had done... Because obviously Franco couldn't be guilty because he would've known it was only $30. See, if it was me who pulled the test, I would've thought Franco was pulling a rib because he figured out it was $30. Fawz even remarks, "Wouldn't it be funny if he got robbed again? Not 'Haha funny', but 'ironic funny'." A funny moment, but even tho there are legitimately funny moments peppered throughout the show, they are robbed of any soul because the writing is so fn' awful. I've drawn comparisons from 'Superior Donuts' to CBS's reboot of 'The Odd Couple' before, and I again see it here in a more wholesome '2 Broke Girls' setting. These relationships are rushed, nothing is believable, and the show itself isn't charismatic enough to hold its own like the equally funny, but charisma-packed 'Kevin Can Wait': 'Superior Donuts', like 'The Odd Couple', won't be able to stand on its own two feet and continue to pull ratings without a strong lead-in like 'Big Bang'. This 4th episode is already down to a 1.2 18-49 demo, CBS expects big things from their soulless comedies. 'The Odd Couple' had the fact that it was a reboot behind it to keep gaining unwarranted renewals, I don't see what 'Superior Donuts' has to offer that a million other potential (and past) sitcoms don't have. Sure, this cast is great, and if the writing was tighter and challenging, I think they might have a great show on their hands... But being run-of-the-mill and playing it safe doesn't gain you an audience. If things don't improve, ratings will continue to slide, and once it goes below that 1.0, CBS will be quick to slice its throat. ****(S01E05) Takin' It to the Streets**** Continuing in it's attempt to carve out a hopeful niche in the dated wholesome multi-cam sitcom genre, 'Superior Donuts' wobbles severely... Meanwhile Netflix has absolutely nailed it with its reboot of 'One Day at a Time'. It's not the the humor isn't sometimes funny, it's that it's simply not funny enough. And it's not that the topics they are trying to tackle don't bare great significance and importance, they are just executed with uneven strokes. Somewhere in between not giving us truly solid humor and making what could be important issues make the show feel like a badly sewn together improv skit. To sum it up, 'Superior Donuts' message is muddled and lost in translation. Fawz clearly owns or is buying up much of this area of Chicago up as quickly as possible. Somehow he's unknowingly acquired the building that Franco and Sweatpants live in and tries to force out the tenants with an iron fist, to make improvements to the building, and raise the rent. This is a huge issue in my neighborhood... I live in Miami Beach and North Beach has a lot of older, 'MiMo' type architecture that gives this city it's flavor. Miami Beach is constantly developing everywhere up and down our small island that divides the city of Miami between the bay and the ocean... Everywhere from Collins Avenue (A1A) to Alton Road to Indian Creek & beyond. North Beach is kind of 'the last of the mohicans', so to speak, and is filled with locals, and my blocks are heavy in Argentinian presence. There is a small strip by the North Beach Amphitheater that has some old hotels that need a little bit of TLC. Instead of providing that TLC, developers are buying up the entire block in hopes of tearing it down and erecting a high end high-rise that drive up the already extremely high rent around the area. I'm sure many parts of Chicago and large cities in America have their cultured landmark type buildings that residents would rather restore than tear down, but instead of exploring the issue further, 'Superior Donuts' overstuffed the episode with other ones... The right to protest, free speech, hate crimes, even throwing in a B-Plot with Randy being nice to James for a good recommendation... And by the end of the episode, all those messages lose any of their potential power through bulletpointing issues instead of giving them the TLC that they do rightfully deserve, making it feel like you just watched an after school special from the 70s that forgot what it was trying to say. Bob Daily & company mean well but I can't help but think that this is not what playwright Tracy Letts had in mind.
