How Did It End?
rafe cameron x reader social media au (might be a bit jj x reader aswell who knows)
Summary: Y/n L/n met Rafe Cameron at an after party of The Pogues two years ago. Y/n had been invited by one of her best friends; JJ Maybank the lead singer of the band. She forced her new co-star Cleo along with her. Both of them met someone that would change their life forever. Cleo met the bands guitarist Pope Heyward. Y/n had met Rafe Cameron. The brother of the drummers girlfriend. John B Routledge had met Sarah Cameron when The Pogues manager Kiara Carrera hired her for their first tour.
a/n: first social media au ever so pls be nice guys! also im absolutely winging this, have nothing planned out and dont even know if I'll be posting many chapters 😭 BUT we try anyway. Also want to give a bigbig shoutout and send so much love to all the obx smau creators that inspired me to actually make this so you all should definitely check these people out! @ghostofwriting (kildare split my beloved) @allertonhoe @murdockcastleslut @coffeebeanbabysdreams

introductions
meet the cast of Dare Me:
Y/n L/n is an up and coming actress. She has played along side of many big names like Daniel Craig, Nicole Kidman, Hugh Jackman, Zendaya and many more! Currently she is on the horror/thriller show Dare Me in which she plays the role of Paige a university student that plays a game of truth and dare with her friends and all kinds of secrets, shames, and maybe even murders come out.
Cleo Anderson is a fenomenal actress and an even better friend to Y/n. Cleo and Y/n met each other while auditioning for Dare Me season 1 three years ago. Cleo plays Tara on the show, Paige's best friend. Thanks to Y/n dragging (she convinced Y/n to even go in the first place) her out to a show of The Pogues she met Pope Heyward. The two of them clicked instantly. They tried to be friends at first but their attraction/chemistry was too strong.
Topper Thornton is the newest addition to the Dare Me cast. This nepo baby scored the role of Lucas, who is Paige's new love interest. Rafe and Topper have been friends for years, well if you can call them friends, the two somehow always end up in arguments online.
a/n: I hope this is making sense so far, im not sure if im loving this format but idk guys im trying 😭 I'll be posting The Pogues, The Camerons + Sofia and chapter 1 either today (its 2am help) or tomorrow! also am trying to have this fic be as inclusive as i can make it so if you have any tips/criticisms pls lmk!!

'Louis Tomlinson has proven he's not just an ex-boyband star, he's a rocker'
Some know him as 'that guy from One Direction', others, including myself know him as arguably one of South Yorkshire's finest exports but Louis Tomlinson is only getting better, writes Daniel Bird
Image: Mirrorpix/Daniel Bird
Daniel Bird Assistant Showbiz Editor 17:31, 12 Nov 2023
Louis Tomlinson may only have two solo albums but he's proving to be one of the artists people should keep an eye on.
Having burst onto the music scene in 2010 as one-fifth of One Direction – a band created by Nicole Scherzinger on The X Factor after all five members were rejected, he's proven he's not just an ex-boyband singer. While singers from bands tend to keep a low profile and venture into other industries after a split, Louis is on a one-way ticket to becoming a mega-star in his own right.
Known for never losing his Doncaster accent and humour, the 31-year-old is currently embarking on his Faith In The Future World Tour, performing to thousands of die-hard fans every night – which he deserves credit for.
Although he may have come from one of the biggest bands of all time, the cheeky chap isn't afraid of getting up close and personal with fans – much to the dismay of his security who leap into action when he jumps off stage and runs to the barricade to see fans. In recent weeks, Louis has seen his expensive vests ripped off him, with fans even going as far as tickling him.
This, however, hasn't stopped him from putting on an incredible show. Despite only releasing two studio albums as a soloist (his second topping the Official UK Charts), he's pushing himself to the limits and playing arenas across the world. Most recently, he performed to around 21,000 fans at Manchester's AO Arena on November 11.
Walking onto the stage may be daunting for some, but Tomlinson showed no signs of fear as he opened with The Greatest – ironically, perhaps the greatest opening track. Throughout the night, he performed hits including Kill My Mind but also paying tribute to his One Direction days, belting out Drag Me Down and Where Do Broken Hearts Go. But since his pop days, Tomlinson has edged towards a more EDM and synth sound before finding his comfort in rockier tracks. He'd previously stated he'd taken inspiration from the likes of Sam Fender, Amy Winehouse, Arctic Monkeys and Manchester legends, Oasis.
Image: Mirrorpix/Daniel Bird
Nowadays, fans can expect the odd pop hit but also enjoy punk rock as well as indie pop and soft rock.
However, despite being in the business for almost 14 years, Louis remained grounded and acknowledged that Manchester was the start of his career. Between songs, he recalled his first audition for The X Factor in front of Simon Cowell, Scherzinger and Louis Walsh, being in the city. He told fans: "This is where I did my very first audition, so to be back here on my own it definitely feels full circle and I couldn't have done that without you.

non-caffine induced ramblings below!!
feel like people are already wondering if future teammates' pets(?) will get along (george and kimi for example - people wonder if the deer and tiger will ignore each other or what...)
Also - geri is an honorary member of the shifter groupchat I don't make the rules
I feel like Danny Ric would've had a quokka gf in an alternate universe
Someone should definitely give Ollie's gf a hug because she's got a sore throat from screaming that her bf is the best bf ever after his Haas points... Also she's the biggest sweet tooth ever like you cannot stop her from eating sweets
Franco's gf (orange cat gf) hisses at people who critic her bf, but she is especially suspicious of James
Oh, and Max's ragdoll gf has adopted Liam (lawson) as her and Max's grid kid. If Charles gets Oscars and Ollie and Leo then Max gets Liam
- 🐺 anon who's a bit sleepy and bored rn
hi 🐺 anon, welcome back :)
my thoughts below:
people may talk, but ultimately, i believe the answer to the first one is definitely. george's gf will start off a little skeptical at first, but quickly becomes fast friends with kimi's gf. she takes over lewis' gf's usual job as the mother of the paddock, and makes sures kimi's gf gets acquainted with massive jump in fame that comes along with the f1 paddock life.
no arguments there! the shapeshifter!gfs all jump at the opportunity to talk to the iconic ginger spice.
haha, when you mention quokka, my mind can't stop replaying that clip when a reporter or something compares yuki to a picture of a quokka at the AUSgp! anyways, according to google, quokkas are known to be friendly, curious, social, and have a perpetual smile. when reading that you CANNOT tell me that that isn't perfectly describing daniel. ughh they'd be the most adorable couple on the grid!!!
while most new wags are more reserved and shy, opting to stand quietly in the garage, ollie’s gf is not afraid to yell herself hoarse during and after the race (nicole sherzinger style). like i can imagine f1tv panning from ocon’s super shy gf standing quietly in este’s paddock area, and then a zoom in shot to ollie’s gf literally leaping up and down and deafening engineers. anyways….the sweet tooth! it def comes with being a bear cub shapeshifter… she has been a victim of kimi’s occasional winnie the pooh jokes one too many times :( referring back to an anon’s thought about bear eyes, ollie’s gf would also use it to her advantage to somehow get herself a billion jars of straight honey??? like ayao will call ollie to the office one day to talk to him about a weird invoice billed to the haas company for a ridiculous amount of honey. ollie walks in with the bear cub clinging to the side of his leg, and it doesn’t take a whole five minutes before ayao has the invoice signed, approved, and sent out on express shipping 😭
franco’s gf is epitome of the screeching, upside-down parabola shaped halloween black cat !!!!! (but in orange) you’ll be lucky if she lets you off with a simple hiss if she hears something even inferencing a critic about franco. if you’re one of the unlucky ones, you better hope you packed a few band-aids!
that’s right! it’s only fit that as a reserve driver in rb’s sister team, liam would be adopted by one of the redbull drivers. you can commonly find max’s gf sitting by liam on the pit wall or in the rb garage when there’s not too much action on track. it’s funny when he makes a quip about max’s accidental wide turn, or raises an eyebrow at a failed overtake when he thinks no one is looking. (she always reports liam’s comments to a disgruntled-looking boyfriend after the race, and giggle as liam adamantly denies doing so. liam can never figure out how max could hear his whispered comments from the garage when max had been racing on the tracks??) it’s not until liam officially becomes a driver for rb when he is let in on the shapeshifting secret. (he got so pissed when he realized that the cat was actually max’s shapeshifting girlfriend) anyways, when race weekends for both drivers start, you can find her campering back and forth from each garage during race day! when she sees liam a looking a little too stressed, she likes to bring him her lighting mcqueen plush from her the redbull garage. during media days, when max is doing an interview, you can find her following liam around the paddock (for protection reasons only, she assures max when he gets a little jelly of all the attention on liam).

“If I believe you” by the 1975 is an electro-gospel song with a lush collection of voices, synthesizers, and instruments contained within its six minutes and twenty seconds. The producer George Daniel is known for collecting rare and vintage synths and has talked openly about their many uses during the bands twenty-year career. The opening sounds are similar to a very resonant lofi- organ with layered voices, and some tambourine. As it moves into the verse there is a loud resonant clap sound used to add a light percussive element over the voice and synth. The guitar plays a background part to the whole song using a sound modifier to make it blend with the synth. The bass guitar is used similarly to the lead guitar, though its tonal quality shows through the synth clearer as it helps to build the chords throughout the song. As the lead vocal grows through the chorus, there are short bursts of choral background singing. The use of a choir aides in the display of the overtly religious overtones. The musical bridge features a lush Jazz inspired sound from the flugelhorn played by Roy Hargrove; this is a sound I was personally less accustomed to as it has fallen out of use in popular music. The plucky whimsical synth returns after the bridge along with the light percussive clap to support the vocalist through the end. After the bridge the synth is playing an arpeggiated melody that harkens a synthesized harp in a more playful way than it had previously sounded. The lead vocal is duplicated and stretched through the end adding a layered feeling that perfectly complements the arpeggiated synth and light percussion to create a hopeful whimsical sound.
This song was released in 2016 and has since been sampled twice. Once by the 1975 themselves for their 2020 record and Keshi on his 2016 track “if you’re not the one for me who is”.

Slowmango "Hypercolour Miscellaneous" 2023 Adelaide,Australia Psych,Prog,Experimental Jazz Funk (debut album)
full spotify
The debut album from South Australian 6-piece Slowmango, who create raw, progressive, and genre-exploring grooves which combine global musical influences with a buffet of psychedelia, funk, jazz, and progressive rock. In mid-2022 Slowmango converted a picturesque shack on the Fleurieu Peninsula into a fully-fledged recording studio, where they immersed themselves for 10 glorious days and recorded their upcoming debut album Hypercolour Miscellaneous. With an array of instruments at their disposal, the band dove deep into the songs and jams they had spent the last three years writing and rehearsing across stages in Australia, emerging with a nine-track album of eclectic and fine-tuned songs which explore a diverse spread of textures, genres flavours from across the globe. Hypercolour Miscellaneous' sound is eclectic and dynamic, embracing lush arrangements which move through rhythms and make bold changes yet always manage to keep feet moving. Pulling inspiration from the deep pockets of the world, incorporating elements from reissued lost tapes of Africa and Asia, the summers of love in both ‘69 and ‘89, the funkier side of jazz, and a healthy dose of improvisation.....~
Slowmango blend influences from across the globe into a sweet and savoury buffet of international groove, invoking moments of compulsive danceability and upbeat celebration, without forgetting Sunday mornings and afternoon drives. With far reaching influences from across the world, Slowmango are known for their loose-knit progressive arrangements which blend elements of early prog and art rock with African, Latin, and Arabic stylings and a healthy dose of experimentation. The group have quickly gained a following for blurring the borders between music and art - creating wildly original and highly immersive live shows and packing out dancefloors at Dark MOFO, The Lab and Darwin Festival in 2021.....~
Slowmango plays a lush music that gently takes us back to the 60s and 70s where inventive and adventurous rock reigned supreme. 'Hypercolour Miscellaneous' brings together nine unbridled tracks deftly mixing psychedelia, funk, jazz and progressive rock. Most compositions have a warm, relaxing, summery feel. From melodies to abundant brass, don't be surprised to hear, along the tracks, influences such as those of 'Blood Sweat and Tears' and the 'Chicago' of the early years of the band. It's exactly the kind of retro-prog album I like, even if it draws heavily from the key players of the 1970s Slowmango also has its own personality with more modern sensibilities, especially in the mixing and arrangements. The whole is well produced and could be expanded after several listenings. To be discovered on bandcamp!.....~ Credits Adrian Schmidt Mumm - Guitar, Vocals Matthew Morison - Keyboard, Vibraphone Kaspar Schmidt Mumm - Vocals, Visuals Aidan J. RODNEY GREEN’S JACKSON MILLER AT SMALLS JAZZ CLUB IN 2020 with Tyrone Allen and
Nicole Glover, 30 JULY 2020, 5 pm set, and Neta Raanan, 14 DECEMBER 2020, 5 pm set
My Toledo friend suggested I check out Neta Raanan as a tenor player drawn to trio work a la my favorite younger saxophonist Nicole Glover. They both have albums out this year, both each with a vibraphonist (Steve Nelson with Glover, Joel Ross with Raanan) to embellish the trios. Both are anchored by Kavon Gordon, though Tyrone Allen is Glover’s regular bassist while Simon Willson is with Raanan. But to find Raanan in the Smalls Live Archive led me to this set with RODNEY GREEN (and Allen too!) during lockdown playing to the video cameras only. She evidently was one of several tenors who replaced Glover who was a regular for a year and a half with Green’s project that supplemented the jazz playing with sound samples, often of a programmatic nature. Think Max Roach/Abbey Lincoln We Insist or Mississippi Goddamn from Nina Simone to acknowledge that the hip hop impulse has always been part of the music.
I saw Green in June of this year playing wonderful trio work with altoist Tim Green, one set with Ethan Iverson sitting in. Green is a generous leader with a light touch to give space to his players “showing off” not with solos but with complementary responses to what they add to his tunes (Camden was on both nights from 2020; I recalled a tune for his great-grandfather in the Raanan set that he played with Tim Green in 2024) and well curated covers of works by Chick Corea, Kenny Barron, and, with Glover, a Monk/Ellington daily double.
He too seems to like the space that this kind of trio affords. He rarely soloed as such, rather his moments alone were compositional and very much in the context of the tunes he was part of. His horn players were robust but not frantic. The music breathed. The Glover I discovered in late 2020 played much harder with Daniel Duke and Nic Capoccio who only knew how to churn. She too was willing to pin our ears back. I’ve really enjoyed seeing her play more patiently with Allen and Gordon and in ensembles led by Renee Rosnes (she’s part of the venerable Artemis) and Allison Miller, plus on Smalls gigs with Geoffrey Keezer, Curtis Nowosad, and others. So to know that she worked with Allen here with Green and to factor this music as the immediate prehistory to what I came upon makes me want to reconsider those first listens and take into account that band and the need to fight the late night crowd at Smalls. She had it going early.
While I homed in on her interactions with Green, of course Allen was just as important as he was on the night with Raanan. Indeed, he was the center of my attention at that gig, so attuned to his leader, the horn, and above all the tunes. His solos were warm and appealing, including some bowing on a tune that ended up sampling a Wayne Shorter interview.
That tune, rather late in the set, alas, was Raanan’s most comfortable and lyrical solo. She rose to the occasion of the tunes and was more than the rather delicate player I hear on her own album. I don’t know her well at all, but I will and very much want to. Toledo’s recommendation is well founded. I didn’t know she was filling Glover’s shoes and I couldn’t attend to her career as attentively as I have with Glover over these four years. But she deserves her place with these musicians.

The Best of AMERICANAFEST 2024
AMERICANAFEST is an assault on the senses. With hundreds of parties, official and unofficial, going on in dozens of venues throughout Nashville, there's so much choice you risk being paralyzed with indecision. For our part, we caught 45 shows across a eight venues and, while we saw a few bands we probably wouldn't buy an album from (remember, friends, buy your music), we didn't catch anything that wasn't good. That said, only a few can be the best. Here are the best things we saw at AMERICANAFEST 2024.
Best of the Fest- Amythyst Kiah and Danielle Nicole At this point, I should probably disqualify Amythyst Kiah from getting “Best of the Fest” and give some other people a chance. She has, I think, won it every time she has played the festival and I have seen her. And she just keeps getting better. Pulling heavily from her forthcoming album Still + Bright, Kiah blended her standard blues and Americana with elements of symphonic metal and classic rock for a sound that is like no other.
This year, Kiah has to share her award with Danielle Nicole. Of the three bands I saw Wednesday night at Exit/In, she was the one I knew nothing about. Boy, had I been missing out. Sounding like what would happen if Janis Joplin fronted The Jimi Hendrix Experience, her power trio blasted through 45 minutes of pure blues-rock fury and I was there for it. For intensity, this was by far the set of the weekend.
Best Work Ethic- Secret Emchy Society and Amelia White The old saying is “work smarter, not harder.” But there's something to be said for working harder and nobody at AMERICANAFEST 2024 worked harder than these two. Cindy Emch of Secret Emchy Society made the trip from California and made the most out of racking up all those airline miles. Over the court of AMERICANAFEST's six days, Emch curated three events (including a 9 hour-long house show) and performed at five. All of these performances helped promote either her fellow Bay Area roots musicians or the Queer Country community. I was able to catch her at her official Showcase on Saturday night at The 5 Spot, my first time seeing her with her full band, and her brand of hard-living, hard-drinking, hard-rocking country music kept the packed audience entertained, even with her playing the dreaded 11 pm final slot of the festival, when many fest goers are either headed home or too tired to rock.
While Amelia White might not have had as far to travel as Emch, living in East Nashville, but that didn't stop her from putting the work in during AMERICANAFEST week. Over the course of the festival, White performed at seven official and non-official events. I was able to catch her at two of these; the official East Coast Social Club showcase at The Bowery Vault and the unofficial Americanamitzvah event at the Love and Exile Bar. In both cases, White showed why she's been dubbed “The Queen of the East Nashville Underground.”
Best Import- Tami Neilson A New Zealander by way of Canada, Tami Neilson is no stranger to Nashville. In addition to having played a number of shows at AMERICANAFEST in the past, Neilson was also, as a child, a member of The Neilsons, a family band that used to be regular performers at Opryland, a, sadly, now defunct Nashville amusement park that Neilson referenced from the stage when I saw her at the Lightnin' Management Medicine Show at 3rd and Lindsley on Thursday, noting that the city had literally paved over Opryland to put up a parking lot (attached to a tacky shopping mall). Neilson's blend of classic country and rockabilly is a crowd pleaser whenever she plays AMERICANAFEST and her booming voice almost needs no amplification to be heard.
Best Genre Blender- Hawktail A supergroup made up of crack musicians Jordan Tice, Brittany Haas, and Paul Kowert, Hawktail defies any type of genrefication you might want to put on them. With a bluegrass core, the trio mixes elements of jazz, Americana, rock, and chamber music into a sound that is like no other. I got to seem them open AMERICANAFEST on Tuesday night, first with a solo set and then backing up Aoife O'Donovan. In both sets, jaws dropped as the band displayed an instrumental virtuosity that refused to acknowledge genres exist.
Best Find- The Kentucky Gentlemen This is normally where Danielle Nicole would go if she hadn't been so good as to take my “best of” slot. But that's ok because I had another AMERICANAFEST discovery that nearly rivaled them; The Kentucky Gentlemen. Mixing classic country riffs with Bobby Brown-esque r&b vocals and moves, The Kentucky Gentlemen dazzled The 5 Spot on Saturday night with a set high on kinetic energy and infectious hooks.
Best Party Atmosphere- Paisley Fields As one of the current standard-bearers for Queer Country, Paisley Fields has a lot of baggage to carry around in one 45 minute set. But you wouldn't know it from his show, which is a fun, often raunchy, and always musically on-point party. Whether he's unleashing the least subtle Queer Country song in history (“Ride Me Cowboy”) or his protest song (“Tear This Statehouse Down”), he never loses sight of the fact that music gets its message across best when its audience is having fun.
Best New Venue- Cannery Hall Damn, is it nice to have The Cannery back. After a couple of years of dormancy, a victim of Nashville's skyrocketing rents, a new ownership group turned the former Cannery Ballroom/Mercy Lounge/Hi-Watt into a new event space that introduces the best technological improvements to a storied Nashville venue. Just being inside the walls of the place where so many of Nashville's favorites got their start was a nice return to glory. While I only got to see the Cannery Mainstage (for McCrary Sisters, Jon Muq, and Amythyst Kiah), I came away impressed enough to start looking for shows at the venue's two other stages to attend, just to soak in the history.
There it is. The favorite things we saw at AMERICANAFEST 2024. If you attended, leave us your favorites in the comments!

SEPTEMBER 2024
THE RIB PAGE
In Japan we have the phrase Shoshin which means beginner’s mind... this does not mean a closed mind, but actually an empty mind and a ready mind. If your mind is empty it is always ready for anything; it is open to everything. In the beginner’s mind there are many possibilities, in the expert’s mind there are few. - Shunryu Suzuki
*****
Tim Walz is the man of the month. What is there not to like? The 60 year old grew up in Nebraska, taught in China, was a football coach, speaks mandarin, Gov. of the Viking state, retired from Army Guard after 24 years, U.S. Rep., made abortion safe, legal and protected and brought universal background checks to Minnesota, on the agriculture committee, gave free meals to school children, raised taxes on business’s and the wealthy, banned conversion therapy, made it illegal to ban books because of LGBTQ+ characters and helped with the gay/ straight alliance. Those who know him say he is smart, fearless, happy and nice. He is great at complex issues and making them palatable to the rest of us. Sometimes things just fall into place!! ** about Trump Vance: They’re running for the man’s woman haters club or something. - Tim Walz ** If Walz wins, his Lt. Gov. Will be the first woman Gov. Of Minnesota. Peggy Flanagan, of the White Earth band of Ojibwe, would also be the first Native American to govern a state. She is already the highest ranking Native American elected to office. ** Hooray for the good vibe ticket!!
*****
I just learned that Tim Walz wants to go on the road with Marty Short. - Steve Martin ** People are thrilled that Maya Rudolph seems to be coming back to play Kamala Harris on SNL. ** Violent crime was up when Trump was President, and that’s not even counting the crimes he committed. - Tim Walz/ There is truth in that because the crime rate has plummeted under Biden. ** The right likes to call him Tampon Tim because he gave free hygiene products away. Ok, that is a good thing. They also like to say he mishandled the George Floyd murder. There is audio footage of Trump telling him he did a great job. Which is it? ** Re: Walz as Gov. “I fully agree with the way he handled it. He’s an excellent guy.” - Trump ** Vance and Walz both drink diet Dew?? Really??
*****
Scott McCreery stopped his show because he saw a guy hit a woman. They dragged the culprit out.

I wish they would flesh them out a bit. ** Emily O’Brien is out. ** Oh, don’t kill off Melinda Trask and thanks for a real storyline for her!!!!! More!!!! ** One of the best scenes I have seen in a while is EJ enjoying Gabby and Stefan fighting. Delicious!! ** I thought Melissa reeves was coming back?? ** Little Thomas gets better and better!! ** Gabi and EJ? Yuck!! ** Nicole and Daniel or Arianne Zucker and Shawn Christian have finally tied the knot. The August 17 wedding was rustic and elegant.

JD Vance put a big ‘Kamala Chaos’ sign behind him at a rally. People stood in front of the sign so it just read: Kamala. It looked like he was endorsing her for President. ** Here’s why you should hire union stagehands and stage designers. - The International alliance of theatrical stage employees. ** Why won’t Trump and Vance talk about the future? It is all about the past grievances of the rich white man. Please!!** At least the press if finally getting bolder about calling out their lies. ** I can’t help but wonder why I never hear Trump kvetching about his assassination attempt. The man bitches about everything and nothing about this. Why? ** Also.. Why do they want so much government in their business? The right wants government in every part of our life except when it comes to guns then hands off. ** Trump’s website was full of an AI generated Taylor Swift which he claims to know nothing about. For a ‘brilliant businessman’ he never seems to know much of anything. He never seems to know anything when asked about business dealings, his campaign or his Presidency. ** Harris can go to Hell. - JD Vance
*****
Some in the media think that there is a certain unfairness against the right sometime. Bull!! They do not bend over backward for the left like I feel the mainstream media always has for them. I really hate us and them but to make this point, I will use that. I can remember back with Reagan and the Bush’s getting to say any damn thing and it was often just accepted by interviewers (weapons of mass destruction/ Iran Cantra anyone? ). Yes, some called them out but look what Trump has gotten by with for far too long and how much air time he gets. ** It is disconcerting to me that there is always a certain desperation in the right. I do not see much empathy or sympathy in the right- wing media, it seems robotic.
*****
Mind your own damn business. - Tim Walz

Trump media lost $60 mil in recent postings. ** Trump played the Titanic theme at a rally. ** In no way is this use authorized. And really, THAT song? - Celine Dion **Abba is ticked about their own songs that he has used. ** Jack White is also unhappy and has threatened to sue. Don’t even think about using my music you fascists. - Jack White ** Trump also used a Foo Fighters song, My Hero. Their response: Any royalties received as a result of this usage will be donated to the Harris’ Walz campaign. Yes, As much as the Republicans steal music, this should become a regular occurrence. Telling them to stop does not work and they just do what they want. Legal battles just bring him more publicity. ** Trump feels like he isn’t getting enough attention so he keeps scheduling press conferences where he tells us more grievances. He stood in front of groceries in what looked like a grade school demo. * * Where can I buy those cute little tiny tic tacs?? ** We couldn’t help but notice a giant Israeli flag at one showing. ** And why are there always those dudes who lose their mind over religion and power to the exclusion of everyone else like Ryan Walter and Josh Hawley? And when they don’t get their way, they get apoplectic? What is this nonsense with ‘required to incorporate the Bible as part of the curriculum in grades 5-12' ?? I am incapable of understanding why many on the right seem to want to live in 1850. ** Trump seems to be coming to the end of his idolatry. In the beginning, everything bounces off him, he can do no wrong. Now everything sticks and he can do no right. Go away pet rock.
*****
Isn’t it weird that as children we watched cartoons that often had a representation of a loud, rich buffoon type? Now we see that walking talking cartoon every day.

A Federal judge threw out felony charges against Louisville officers Jaynes and Meany in regards to the murder of Breonna Taylor. I really wish that Musk and Rowling would just be quiet! And stay away from Americapac from Elon. In some states, they do help you register to vote but if you live in say, Georgia, they may take a bunch of personal info and end with a thank you. Some seem to never get registered. Hmmm. ** And what the fuck was with that Scary Clown/ Elon interview?? It started late and it just seemed to be 2 out of touch old white guys bitching. Trump, who loves to fire people was so impressed with Musk and the way he fires strikers. They told us all we need to know. ** Donald Trump is a scab. - Shawn Fain ** The rich think we’re stupid. - Shawn Fain

Meanwhile, Robert Kennedy brought a dead bear to Central Park about 10 years ago. Kennedy has suspended his campaign but will stay on the ballot where it does not seem to matter. Otherwise, he endorses Trump and many of his relatives are surely rolling in their graves. He’s as bad as Uncle Teddy. Trump now says he will release the JFK assassination files. Yep, start running National Enquirer headlines to get voters. Trump and RFK Jr. Seem the scandal sheet type so that sounds about right. We seem to have another George Santos or Roy Cohn on our hands. Vance is an opponent of LGBTQ+ rights unless it comes to himself. ** The swift boat ads were much like the Vance couch story.. Horseshit! ** Bill Maher called him Andrew Dice Vance. ** Michael Cohen claims that the Trump realm knows his tells. When Trump starts the accordion hands, he’s lying. ** Anti- abortion activist Lila Rose is threatening to pull support for Trump if he don’t get it together on abortion. It’s disappointing today- but perhaps he personally lacks principle on this issue. - Lila Rose

I liked the Robert Costa interview with Biden. He only really misspoke once with the “If Trump wins” line. Give the old Pres a break!! Of course, age is a factor but I notice Biden gets more confused when speaking about Trump than anything. I think he just gets so worked up about the damage that guy causes as anybody with a brain would. Biden is sort of like Goerge Washington in that he was selfless and did not do things for the glory. ** Speaking of interviews, why is everybody bitching about Harris doing a big interview?? She finally took Walz and had a talk with Dana Bash. Then they bitched that she did not do the interview alone. Trump and his ilk run their campaign any way they want so leave her alone, she’s doing great!! ** I don’t really get why reporters are jumping on these little things like if he held a weapon and the difference in fertility treatments. It seems so unimportant in the big scheme and compared to Trump’s actions. They are hitting hard on the fracking because it is important to say, western Pennsylvania and that is a critical state. Flip flop or just a change of thought after more research?

The DNC put on the party of the year. Talking heads were freaking out about the possible violence and comparisons to 1968. The protests were minimal and the event was a great success. I was riveted. A Kamala rally looks like America. A Trump rally looks terrifying. You know things are going in the right direction when the speeches bring tears to your eyes, in a good way. There is nothing like a great political speech and the Democratic convention this year was loaded with them. Jason Isbelle sounded great. Harris popped in the first night for a few minutes. Tony Goldwyn and Kerry Washington reunited. Love the ‘Not going back’ slogan but they could do better than We fight, we win. We vote, we win is better! ** I could have used a little less razzle dazzle and a little more of the numbers but hey.. Politics as fun? .. We are in serious need of that. I want people to be excited to participate, not angry. Jill Biden, Hillary Clinton and Michelle Obama were awesome. Woman Power was showing up on that stage!! It seems so appropriate that the women were the ones to shine. ** Re: all the excitement and enthusiasm of the convention: I think it’s gonna hurt his brain. - Gretchen Whitmer ** Rafael Warnock and Jim Clyburn were great too. ** It is amazing how different crowds can be. They could be a bit too zealous because it seemed to affect timing of the lower rung speakers. The second night lagged because they had to take the panorama picture but otherwise, flawless. ** Yes, the roll call was one of the best times of the year but I must say American Samoa seemed like the most fun!! The states mentioned their prides like Keith Richards and David Letterman. Celebs helped out from Sean Astin and Wendall Pierce to Lil’ Jon and Spike Lee. Sometimes the Governors called out their choice. ** Missouri mentioned they will fire Josh Hawley. Fingers crossed. I did wonder if the music was too loud as some of the states seem confused. Wisconsin wore cheese heads. Tammy Duckworth walked out! Stevie Wonder was awesome. Mindy Kaling seemed to be listing her credits. I hope we see a lot more of the next generation like Jack Schlossberg and Jason Carter. They were fab!! Gasps happened when they announced Oprah! Best lines: The Michigan AG mentioned that the right would have to take her wedding ring off of her, “cold dead gay hand.” also Michelle Obama with, “Who’s gonna tell him the job he’s trying to get might be one of those black jobs.” and affirmative action of generational wealth.” ** Gus Walz was so adorable and how refreshing to see a kid proud of their parent. ** There were republicans there too with the message, “If you vote for Harris, you’re not a democrat, you’re a patriot.” ** But I think the best moment was when we heard from the exonerated 5. The heartbreaking speech about what NY and Trump put them thru made quite an impression. 45 wanted us not alive.- Yusef** The only real miss was not letting someone speak just for Palestine. The entire affair was raw yet professional and slick. The ratings were great. The word of the night was freedom.
