I was so happy to see #Kentucky Governor #AndyBeshear get reelected. I appreciate his messages of unity and inclusivity, and the #JackHarlow shout out in his victory speech was everything! 

Andy Beshear sincerely seemed like the better candidate, and his win feels like a tiny piece of justice for #BreonnaTaylor. (Governor Beshear's opponent #DanielCameron was the Attorney General who decided not to prosecute any of the officers responsible for taking Breonna's life.)

newsone_official According to the Lexington Herald-Ledger, Daniel Cameron said in June that he “can’t wait to go” to Eric Deter’s annual “Freedom Fest” event. Now, you might not be unfamiliar with Deters, especially if you’re not a fan of racist radio hosts who call themselves “provocative” when they really mean “white supremacist.” So, just to catch some of you up, here’s Deters in 2011 apologizing for saying, “If you want to conquer an African nation, send white women and pot,” then whitesplaining that the “joke” was justified because “every Black guy on my flag football team, went out with, lived with, and was married to a white woman and smoked pot.”

And here’s a much more recent video of Deters complaining that “You can’t watch a television commercial now that doesn’t have either a gay, a Black, Asian character in it, and it’s messed up.”

According to a spokesperson for AG Cameron, “The Grand Jury audio recording is more than 20 hours long, and our office filed a motion to request additional time, if the court permits it, to redact personally identifiable information of witnesses, including addresses and phone numbers.” Before AG Cameron filed for this motion, the recordings were expected to be released on Wednesday. Now instead, A judge is expected to rule on the motion Wednesday (Sept. 30th). The unidentified grand juror filed a motion on Monday asking the judge to give up their confidential status so they could speak out. They blame #Kentucky Attorney General #DanielCameron of using jurors as a shield. The document states that Kentucky Attorney General Daniel Cameron has continued making statements that the grand jury alone decided who or what to charge in the investigation based solely on the evidence presented to them. Cameron said he does not plan to release the investigative files because he said he does not want to defile ex-officer Brett Hankison’s trial. According to the motion, the grand juror points out that Cameron was asked why a dozen witnesses said they did not hear the police knock or announce themselves, to which the juror said that Cameron relied “on one witness to the contrary.” That one witness has since recanted his statement. “The citizens of this Commonwealth have demonstrated their lack of faith in the process and proceedings in this matter and the justice system itself. Kentucky Attorney General #DanielCameron said Tuesday that he never recommended murder charges against police officers for Breonna Taylor's death. The grand jury handed down no charges in connection with Taylor's death. "Ultimately our judgment is that the charge that we could prove at trial beyond a reasonable doubt was for wanton endangerment against Mr. Hankison," Cameron said in an exclusive interview with WDRB-TV. Cameron will release the recordings of the grand jury proceedings after a grand juror had requested in court that all recordings, transcripts, and reports of the panel relating to the police-involved shooting case be released to the public. He has until Friday to release them, according to CNN. Taylor's family attorney #BenCrump said the upcoming release of the grand jury recordings is one small step toward justice.  "We continue to ask for full transparency," Crump said.
