Tumblr media
27. Cardboard Optimus Head
28. Med kit #1
29. Jacks
30. Fire Extinguisher #1
31. Magician hat #2

35. Cup
36. Various Stuffies
37. Notebook #2?
38. Baseball #1

Tumblr media

Tumblr media
55. More clothes. Clothes everywhere. He’s a teenage boy though, c’mon.
56. More books
57. CD?
58. Soccer ball #3
49. Boombox #2
50. Med kit #2
51. Fire extinguisher #2
Tumblr media
52. Another book
53. Rubber ducky #4
Spitting thoughts out:
Lmao notice how there is stuff all over the downstairs and the upstairs hallways and staircases but he left the kitchen mostly clean? Same. Getting to food = important.
So it makes sense that they have multiple med kits and fire extinguishers because they’re a rescue family.
Cody seems to have a lot of dinosaur related little kid stuff so Dino kid confirmed.
He seems to be a big reader but Cody’s a smart kid so yeah we could’ve figured that. Also I bet Charlie has preached the need to get off the internet and do other things.
Makes sense that he has a lot of soccer balls because apparently it’s the family sport. Kade, Dani, and Graham have lots of soccer trophies. There was a whole episode about how Cody is bad at soccer.
Makes sense he has a lot of basket balls and baseballs. We see the family play basketball all the time and at the end of the soccer episode, Kade insists Cody try out for baseball.
You would think they’d have a shed or something to put all their sports stuff in??? Why have them inside????
Why the boomboxes?? I could see if one of them used to be Charlie’s and he gave it to Cody, but why two?
The magician hat and the trumpet are both call backs from previous episodes. I don’t remember exactly the trumpet one, but it was when he was trying new things for a lad pioneer badge or extra credit in school or something. Heatwave recommended martial arts but it didn’t go well???
The duplicate of the Teddy bear with the police shirt and the duplicate of the magician hat are clear accidents.
The moose hat is because the moose is the mascot of the team Kade was on.
Why the tuba? What’s with the water tanks? Cody has his own plant? When’d he make the Optimus head? That would’ve been cute to see!
Why the hell does he have so many rubber ducky’s?!?!?!???
//Don’t take this post too seriously. I know there’s going to be animation errors. I find it amusing.
Bonus:
Tumblr media
54. Lucky soccer shorts from first grade
55. Mr. Macaroni from preschool

For the ask game: Fire and Blood, Rhaenicent, and Daemon Targaryen and Dalton Greyjoy :)
Send me fandoms... characters... or ships... 📩 Thank you so much for this picnic basket of question! They were such fun to answer. :D Preface: I haven't watched the show, only learnt about it via gif and meta tumblr osmosis. The answers are entirely based on Fire and Blood alone, additional to my interpretations of the events.
001 | Send me a fandom and I will tell you....[Fire and Blood]
Favorite character: Nettles
Least Favorite character: Unwyne Pike
5 Favorite ships (canon or non-canon): (oh boy here we go...) Visenya Targaryen x Sharra Arryn, Rhaena Targaryen x Alyssa Farman, the Riverland lads (including Aly Blackwood) x being the most metal 5eva), Johanna Lannister x Dalton Greyjoy
Character I find most attractive: Kermit Tully (I played enough Fire Emblem to know what war criminal is good dating material and this one has red hair too!)
Character I would marry: Kermit Tully
Character I would be best friends with: Tyland Lannister (have I mentioned how much I love, love, love realpolitics? But also he was so understanding and kind to Aegon III, Aegon staiyng with Lord Tyland was a sign of their quiet bond of trust)
a random thought: This book convinced me to a 100% that Mirri Maz Duur and Bobby B. did the world a favour by guaranteeing the Targaryen dynasty would end with Dany. (Nothing personal, Dany.)
An unpopular opinion: I don't get the Jaehaerys hateboner the fandom has for him. At least not the intensitiy. Maybe I'm too much of a law nerd to dislike a character who creates a codified law system and long term benefit infrastructure to scorn someone who's your regular run-off-the-mill misogynist in Westeros. (Personally, I take more offense with his aggressive Targaryen supremacy propaganda efforts...)
My Canon OTP: Alys Rivers x Aemond Targaryen
My Non-canon OTP: Mushroom x a book deal
Most Badass Character: Benjicot Blackwood closely, tied to Roddy the Ruin
Most Epic Villain: (in the limits of what qualifies as a villain in this universe) Maegor the Cruel, a mama's boy who couldn't function without Visenya direction his every action.
Pairing I am not a fan of: Daemon Targaryen x Laena Velaryon
Character I feel the writers screwed up (in one way or another): Hmm, Martin wrote this book as barely anything more than fleshed out bullet points with the purpose of narrating a semi historic account. Obviously in this format details and characterisation would be left less detailed and left for speculation. Yet I think Tess could've been given more than just a few lines.
Favourite Friendship: Rhaena Targaryen and Maegor Towers, Tyland Lannister and Aegon III Targaryen
Character I most identify with: Lyman Beesbury
Character I wish I could be: Alyssa Farman
002 | Send me a ship and I will tell you: (Preface: This is the only category for which I will base my answers on the showverse. Their ship is based on a dynamic that couldn't exist in the book verse due to their ages in the book.) - When I started shipping them: Actually I didn't, the concept seems intriguing though if I wasn't sideeyeing the writer's competence in writing fleshed out female characters with agency. - My thoughts: no great ones, except I'm really happy that a F/F pairing made it into the ranks of most popular ships in the fandom - and the girls remain interesting without watered down pastelcoloured uwu-fication (at least from I can gather from my mututals). - What makes me happy about them: The actresses for all time periods having put so much thought in the dynamic that the tension in the Dance of Dragons isn't "just" based in misogynistic sentiments and aspiration of power in a misogynistic system - but also in deeply personal tragedy. The original script didn't even consider Alicent's misgivings with her former friend beyond, let's call it unceremoniously, slutshaming and religious righteousness. The queer character of their relationship carved out by all four actresses enriched their conflict in it's core. - What makes me sad about them: Maybe misogyny cages them both yet Rhaenyra can live so many liberties with her father's blessing. Alicent will always remain an outsider, deprived of any Targaryen privileges, any sense of agency, her anger at Rhaenyra's arrogance is so palatable. - Things done in fanfic that annoys me: haven't read fanfic about them so far. -Things I look for in fanfic: Smut, Alicent on top, religious guild as zesty topping for dirty talk. :P - My wishlist: The Catch 22 of women in media is that any agency can easily lead to demonisation and ignorance to what the story wants to tell about a woman's fate by a larger fandom. Chanving off a lot of the agency, the men remaining the only villians behind the unfolding conflict, Alicent and Rhaenyra are stripped of agency, therefore undermining the theme of misogyny in the Dance of Dragons in a weird way. I don't know if such a story about the fallout of a queer lovestory and the bitter remains held by female characters would be given the grace by a format intended for mass consumption... Yet, in the books there was such a loud untertone of Alicent exercicing power through the men around her in contrast through Rhaenyra's direct action. Alicent found a way to cheat the system she upheld, the conflict felt so much more personal. The show defanged them and it's theme in a round about way. It would've been interesting to see how Alicent's resentment, fear, and actual anger could've become an action that would've added to the thematic depiction of women navigating their limited range in an overlooked way. (C'mon, HBO, how could you pull off Livia Soprano 25 years earlier but Alicent is damned into motionlessness from minute 1?) -Who I’d be comfortable them ending up with, if not each other: Alicent should've had the Lavender wedding with Laenor and found company in Laena. Rhaenyra could've had Daemon if she wanted, but anyone of her choosing would've been fine too. -My happily ever after for them: Rhaenyra would've ascendet the throne with Alicent's belssing, they both would've raised their kids better so they would've grown up as siblings, both had a lavender weddings, while Alicent warms Rhaenyra's bed.
003 | Give me a character & I will tell you: [Daemon Targaryen]
How I feel about this character: Until his meeting with Nettles where he appears to have had a change of heart I didn't care much of him, even absolutely understood why Viserys I exiling him repeatedly.
Any/all the people I ship romantically with this character: "Sir, please step away from that teenage girl." If it has to be someone, Corlys Velaryion then...
My favorite non-romantic relationship for this character: Caraxes.
My unpopular opinion about this character: As dubious I think his motives to turn towards Nettles are, not out of a change of heart against the war atroscities commited in Rhaenyra's name, at the end of his life he seems to have reflected on his past deeds, shown resignation.
One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: During his journey in the free cities, he would've found a medicinal remedy which could serve as Essosi equivalent to a chill pill.
Favorite friendship for this character: Corlys Velaryion
My crossover ship: God forgive me for the crassness but an evil thought crossed my mind: Since Daemon is so darn set on dragons, violence, and fornicating with any sexually avaible female character... wouldn't that make him an ideal partner for Angelus in Drakengard?
003 | Give me a character & I will tell you [Dalton Greyjoy]
How I feel about this character: Full of himself, arrogant, cruel! He's the absolute worst! Obviously, I love him.
Any/all the people I ship romantically with this character: Johanna Lannister
My favorite non-romantic relationship for this character: His crew. No seriously, his voice barely stopped breaking, he leads an entire fleet against an army of dragon. Dalton must've earned some absolute loyalty for a good reason.
My unpopular opinion about this character: I really hope he becomes the fandom's new hyper problematic sexy man. There's nothing redemptive about anything he ever did and yet I already have visions of bodice-ripper-themed x reader fanfics with him.
One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: I would be curious if there's a fanwork/plans for the showadaption detailing his pillaging through Tess' eyes. Not only do I think she desperately needs a voice, it would be a good perspective on the civilian casualties during the conflict. Sometimes the spectacle around the political characters overshines the explicit anti war elements.
Favorite friendship for this character: ?
My crossover ship: An introduction course for 101 feminism "Women are people too".

🥳🎬
Hi friend!! Thanks for the ask!!
🥳 Why did you start writing fanfic?
Oooo...okay so I used to write fanfic basically for myself and for my best friend years ago when we were both playing Dragon Age (and then we'd also dabble with fanfic for other games like Fire Emblem games or The Arcana and so on). I've always loved crafting stories and writing, and I've done it since a very, very early age. With fanfic, I loved the ways fanfic allowed me to play with OCs and see how they interacted with these fictional worlds that I had grown to love.
But for a while, fanfic was just kept on my computer. I never shared it. BG3 inspired me to share my fanfic because otherwise I would just be sending TONS of writing to the same 1-2 people in my IRL friend group and I felt like that would be overwhelming? And I found that I did want to share my writing with others, with strangers even. And as someone who wants to one day write and publish books, I figured sharing my fanfic would be a good way to see if people liked my writing style.
So I guess I started writing fanfic because I wanted to write about my OCs interacting with the worlds they were in (for DA, BG3, Fire Emblem, The Arcana, etc) but I started sharing it (at least the BG3 stuff) because I wanted to see what people thought about it, I guess.
Good question!
🎬 If a movie or show were based on your fic, which fic would you choose and who would you fancast?
I already answered this one!! It’s linked here :) Ben Barnes or Michael Huisman for Gale 100% and Avantika Vandanapu as Dani I think <3

Thanks for tagging me! It took a lot of thought but I finally figured out some inspirations (most of these were not on my mind when I made the characters but now I see these inspirations the more I think about it lol)
You know me, I gotta do my Top 3 Tavs lol
~*~*~
Dani
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(picture courtesy of @elspethdekarios because she gave my Tavs a modded photoshoot recently <3) Lindsey Stirling - Not a character, but her dancing/play style is 100% the inspiration for Dani as a character Esmeralda (The Hunchback of Notre Dame) - sexy dancer, outcast, advocate, headstrong, caring, I just see a lot of shared qualities between her and Dani Danielle (Ever After) - headstrong Cinderella, massively protective of her family (including her servants), will pick up her boyfriend after out-smarting roguish bandits with her wit Miguel and Tulio (The Road to El Dorado) - just...look at them. duh.
~*~*~
Ardynn
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(photo creds to @elspethdekarios again) Merida (Brave) - red-headed bow-and-arrows girl who is like really good at archery Aloy (Horizon Zero Dawn) - (also red-headed) adventurous, likes to hunt Big Things (mostly machines), kind of a loner Pocahontas (Pocahontas)- close to nature, better at communicating with nature than with people (kinda), talks to trees idk Jane (Tarzan) - loves nature, loves birds, loves a wildman who is sometimes more animal than man (if you didn't see Jane coming for this Halsin-obsessed gal then idk what to tell you)
~*~*~
Freyr
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Kronk (The Emperor's New Groove) - himbo. that's it, that's the reason Thorin (The Hobbit movies)- plagued with temptations and greed and madness (also it's Richard Armitage) Geralt of Rivia - both video game and Henry Cavill version, mostly for the rugged bloodstained "so sick of your shit" vibes Dedue (Fire Emblem Three Houses) - staunchly devoted to protecting someone they really care for, even if that person is Kinda Evil/Crazy/Not Doing Great (Dedue is a way better person than Freyr tho), will absolutely WRECK you on the battlefield
~*~*~
Tagging @galesdevoteewife and @profoundlyfaded if either of you want to jump on this!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
TAVSPIRATION - LYRA
Tumblr media
Independent, Protective, Fearless, Willful
Was playing around and thinking about which characters I've loved may have inspired my Tav! Obviously, she's completely her own person - But there are elements to her from characters I have loved as a kid and beyond.
I'd love to know if there are any other characters you love which you see in your OC, or may have even inspired them!
Join in! But i'll start by tagging @weaveandwood @elspethdekarios @laiostoudenn @mumms-the-word whos OCs I love and want to know more about <3

I survived (Blue Lion Route)
92 hours and 9 minutes of Blue Lions and I survived!!
Supported Dimitri and I grinned like an idiot. The last time I was crazy for a FE pairing was Chrom/Robin so I think it says something.
My endings for this game:
Alois, Gilbert, and Ignatz stayed alone (I didn’t have enough for Ignatz so I will work on him in the Golden Deer)
Marianne/Hanneman - this was actually quite adorable.
Lysithea/Cyril - I was originally going for Lysithea and Felix but switched over to Cyril instead and I loved their ending!! (Even though I still got the crappy bit at the end, it said she was happy).
Seteth/Manuela - I was all over the place for those two and who I wanted to support but I decided to go with them and damn it! I loved it! (wish I could have seen Flayn’s expression though)
Bernadetta/Raphael - this was an interesting one, especially the final sentence ‘She even took on a very muscular husband.’ LOL.
Linhardt/Petra - this was an interesting ending. There isn’t much of Linhardt in the ending, just they had a healthy and affectionate relationship.
Ferdinand/Flayn - I admit, I fell in love with them in the support and I was so happy I got their paired ending. They seem to end up as a power couple and I can only imagine Seteth’s face at the pairing.
Catherine/Shamir - enough said.
Lorenz/Leonie - I was going to go for Marianne and Lorenz but I fell for them during their A supports and I needed to see how I went. It went brilliantly!!!
Dorothea/Felix - Yep, I went for this because I knew Felix/Annette were cute and Sylvain/Felix were popular but they captured my heart and I needed to know how it ended. It’s really sweet.
Ashe/Annette - I knew from their very first support that I wanted to get their paired ending and I love it!!! The two adorable kids grew up to be a power couple I knew they would be.
Caspar/Hilda - Hilda was difficult because she had a few supports I liked but I ended up going with Caspar because of their last support - he promises to help her with needs, she invited him back to her room and he totally misunderstood lol. I loved that they ended up with a ‘notoriously lively household’!
Sylvain/Mercedes - they were so damn sweet together and I love their ending, that they proved to the world that no-one needed a crest to live a happy and fulfilled life.
Dedue/Ingrid - they made me switch from Ingrid/Seteth to them and I’m glad for it. Though curiously enough, it just said odd friendship yet that works out even better.
Finally
Byleth/Dimitri - my duo who dominates the battlefield, became parents to unruly children (and there was a lot) and soft for each other got married, had heated debates, who remained hopelessly in love til the ends of their days (which is all I wanted for them).
I survived.
I did consider going back and doing all the supports for Byleth but, to be honest, I’m not really that interested in all of them.
Golden Deer will be next - where I will romance Sylvain. Curious about who I will be interested in pairing.
Black Eagles will be after that - Route 1 - where I will romance Ferdinand.
Route 2 - Eh...I will wait and see, still miffed I can’t romance Hilda as a female-Blyeth.
As for male playthrough - I will wait and see. Not a 100% sure I wanna go through all of this again lol.
Bonus for Fem-Byleth - I only have Claude, Hubert, and Edelgard for their supports. Rhea and Sothis too but I’m not sure how to go about getting Sothis (or if I actually wanna go down that route because knowing the background, it’s kind of...twisty?)
but right now?
I’m taking a break from playing three houses, going back to finish off stories I need to finish and actually getting round to playing Astral Chain that I go. (And myabe the Last Remnant cause I’m a sucker for that pain-in-the-ass game)

Ladies and Gentlemen, we have a winner (tosses plushie).
This has always, ALWAYS been the underlying problem with the discourse. It's never been about who Edelgard actually, canonically is. No sir. This whole shindig is, well, it's pretty much what Verdant Wind was talking about. Presumptions, and how you need to actually spend time with people in order to actually know them.
People can carry all kinds of ideas for what the story is going to be going into the game. Maybe they've played past Fire Emblem games and have an idea of how it uses it's tropes, like what a female lord is typically like. Perhaps they saw the post-timeskip designs, or watched a trailer. Or maybe they believed that the story would be morally grey, and who is a villain or hero is a matter of perspective? Maybe they just wanted a version of Dany that didn't go villain at the last moment. Then there's the people who play the game after reading fanfics and their portrayals of the characters.
Who knows what they take into the game with them, and White Clouds doesn't help things because it's trying to pull off a trick on players according to the devs. And then they run into the twin brick walls of who Edelgard really is and what the game is actually saying. The very fact that an esteemed piece of “meta” was written because Edelgard's actions went against the author's understanding of her character. And the rest is history.
Say it with me everyone, no one hates Edelgard more than her “fans.”
Do you think that Edelgard setting Bernadetta on fire in Three Houses was an oversight from the developers/a bug? I highly doubt the game would have made it out the door without Koei/IS noticing it at some point if that was unintentional, but at the same time, it's extremely weird that no one in the story comments on or acknowledges Bernadetta dying in one of the worst ways a human being can possibly die as a direct result of Edelgard sacrificing her if it was intentional on the devs' part.
Anon,
This series might have forgotten its roots in several opuses, but from Sigurd to Ephidel to Flora, to Rinea and finally to Bernie, we often had fire jokes.
Given how the gameplay was radically different from the others FE and the omnipresence of the monastery, I'd say putting a fire joke was one of the few threads IS made compulsory else FE16 wouldn't be a fire emblem game!
More seriously,
Bernie has way too many lines about being set on fire for this "bug" to be only, well, a bug.
The whole city's burning! Oh, this isn't good! I'm flammable, you know!
Bernie's all "Berned" out now. I guess if they're no good, we'll just have to "Bern" 'em all, eh? Heh-heh!
To which Seteth replies with :
Let's...leave the topic of burning aside for now, shall we? Show me what you've done.
There was also this line :
Maintenant je brûle d'envie de mieux le connaître !
But it's on the french localisation team.
So even if Bernie only has two lines about herself burning alive...
I'd say it's the kind of easter egg that is also found in the game with various other eggs, like enemy!Felix using the Sword of Zoltan in CF because he and Dimitri (who isn't boar!mitri!) are closer than they are in VW - when the player receives said sword if Felix and Dimitri reach a B Support.
And Anon, no one comments on whatever Supreme Leader did or or does, remember Flamey? Emile? Solon? Baldo'n'Waldi being fielded with the Imperial Army? No one asks what kind of zumba Rhea did during those 5 years to be in a near death state?
Not acknowledging Bernie's blazing performance is typical for those games, and I wouldn't except more of them - else it'd mean they could accept that Supreme Leader is a ruhtless but dedicated leader who, as she said, is willing to sacrifice her people to reach her goals, and if they accept this, no one will buy Hresvelg Grey anymore.

                   【 𝐅𝐀𝐕𝐎𝐑𝐈𝐓𝐄 𝐂𝐇𝐀𝐑𝐀𝐂𝐓𝐄𝐑 𝐌𝐄𝐌𝐄   ! 】
「  List your favorite characters from 10 different fandoms and tag 10 people.  」
Tumblr media
This was harder than I thought, especially picking one character from each fandom. But here are my favourite characters from 10 different fandoms! 【 Claire Redfield - Resident Evil 】 I would have hoped this one was extremely obvious by how much accidental priority Claire seems to get on his blog. I love how caring she is but how tough she is at the same time. She is brave and honestly I would like to be as brave as her. It doesn’t help that she is my planned cosplay for comic con next year.
【 Gamora - Guardians of the Galaxy / MCU 】I fell in love with Gamora after watching the first movie and that was simply it. Gamora was my first entrance to the rp community on tumblr and my account got quite a few followers around the time of Infinity War and Endgame. For this reason she holds fond memories for me.
【 Lucina - Fire Emblem Awakening 】Narrowing this done to my one favourite was tough so I decided to go with my favourite game instead. I was introduced to Fire Emblem by some new friends that I made at Uni and everything changed from there. We had our own group set up where each of us rped one of the gen 2 characters. Lucina was always my favourite as I love Princesses with swords.
【 Raven - Teen Titans 】My first muse that I rped on Deviant with all those years ago. Raven holds a special place in my heart as she was one of my favourite characters from my childhood. I just thought her powers were super cool.
【 Ashoka - Star Wars 】I was a Star Wars baby growing up and getting so see a character grow and change with me was great. When she appeared in the Mandalorian I nearly cried tbh.
【 Xayah - League of Legends 】This is purely for aesthetic reasons idec and her relationship with Rakan reminds me of me and my bf.
【 Will Graham - Hannibal 】This was my favourite show and honestly I loved Hugh Dancy.
【 Genji Shimada - Overwatch 】Genji is my favourite character to play in Overwatch and I find his story so tragic. Plus cyborg ninja? extra cool.
【 Daenerys Targaryen - GOT 】I have a lot to say about Dany but I’m scared it might turn into a rant about the final season of GOT. Dany was my favourite character the whole way through and I was really rooting for her to make it until the end. As I said, I will not be discussing the end of the series xD
【 Saitama - One Punch Man 】Does this even need to be explained?

Dany and Jon’s Philosophical Child?
Anonymous said:
hi! i know the show blueballed everyone, but do you think dany and jon might have a philosophical child in the books?
That’s a very good question, and one that’s had me pondering.  Obviously I don’t know for sure, but my best guess is that Daenerys and Jon will have a child (or more!) but they will not have the philosophical child.  The principal reason is that Dany and Jon themselves are the main protagonists of ASOIAF, the philosopher’s stone-to-be.
Per Lyndy Abraham’s Dictionary, the philosophical child is “the philosopher’s stone when it is first born from the union of Sol and Luna at the chemical wedding.” (p. 148)  There are a couple of well-known depictions of the philosophical child in alchemical emblems.  These are both from Johann Daniel Mylius, Philosophia reformata, 1622.  (Colored versions by Adam McLean.)

It appears that Guillermo del Toro may have copied the second image at the end of Pan’s Labyrinth, when Ofelia  takes her place on the center throne between her parents.  This screenshot is from right before that moment, when Ofelia first enters the throne room.  (Note the red dress, signifying that she has achieved the Red Stone, aka the Philosopher’s Stone.)
Tumblr media
Even though Ofelia is a child, she is the main protagonist of Pan’s Labyrinth.  Her parents--the Sulphur and Mercury, Sol and Luna of the story--appear only in the dream sequences.
We see this too in Harry Potter.  Harry’s mother Lily is marked as White (i.e., Mercury/Luna) with her name.  She plays a critical role in the story, having saved Harry from Voldemort when he was a baby.  But having died saving him, she appears in the books only in flashbacks and the dreamlike sequence when Harry walks to meet Voldemort for the final time.  Harry is the philosophical child--the philosopher’s-stone-to-be as I like to call it.
An even more intriguing philosophical child is Lyra Belacqua in His Dark Materials.  Her parents both play important roles in the first trilogy, but there is no question that Lyra is the protagonist.  Lyra’s status as the philosophical child is even clearer in La Belle Sauvage, the first book of the second trilogy, The Book of Dust.  The entire book is a flashback to when Lyra was a baby, but her existence--and the need to protect her--drive the entire plot.  She gets surrogate parents in LBS--teenagers Malcolm and Alice, who have their own Chemical Wedding toward the end of the book.
Malcolm scrambled across to Alice . . . and they sat clinging together with the child between them, all their daemons clinging together too. . . . (p. 444)
Dany and Jon are not comparable to James and Lily Potter or to Lord Asriel and Marisa Coulter.  Dany and Jon are the main protagonists: they are the Fire and Ice, respectively, of ASOIAF.  It is Dany and Jon, and their union, that will bring about the harmony and reconciliation of opposites that is the goal of an alchemy story.
There is another strong tradition in alchemy stories that would be fulfilled if they have a child, however.  The penultimate phase of the alchemical process is multiplication.  The couples who marry in the matrimoniathon at the end of the story have many children.  Generation, fecundity, bounteous harvests and the rest are the mark of a properly written Eucatastrophe, as Tolkien defined it.  Samwise Gangee and Rose had 13 children, for example.
GRRM has certainly set it up for Dany to have a child, given all the discussion of the prophecy in the books.  It will be interesting to see how he manages to parse the prophecy so that can happen.
For Jon and Dany to have the philosophical child, enough years would have to pass for the child to grow up and become the main protagonist, find an alchemical partner, and somehow herself (or himself) reconcile the warring factions and bring peace and harmony.  That seems unlikely to me.

A Game of Thrones 10th Anniversary Season Ranking: Part 2
Tumblr media
Link to Part 1
Time for the bottom half of the list. The four seasons here will surprise no one, but the order might.
#5 Season 6
Tumblr media
You can tell what I most what to talk about here...but there's an order to these things.
S6 actually has a bunch of great ideas, but they drown beneath the most slapdash plotting and character work the show has seen yet in order to set the stage for the narrower conflicts of the last two seasons. It's notorious for bringing back characters who haven't been seen in a season or longer only to kill them off (Balon Greyjoy, Osha, Hodor, the Blackfish, Rickon, Walder Frey) or awkwardly graft them back into the main plot (Sandor Clegane, Bran). There are plot threads that ought to be compelling but are too rushed in execution, like the siege of Riverrun, Littlefinger's hand in the Battle of the Bastards, or Daenerys's time back among the Dothraki and then finally getting the hell out of Meereen. Arya hits on the only interesting part of her two-season sojourn in Braavos - a stage play, of all things - only for it to stumble at the end with a disappointing offscreen death and some incomprehensible philosophy ahead of the start of her murder tour of Westeros. There's also so much cutting off the branches, enough to be conspicuous; the final shot of Daenerys leading an armada of about half the remaining cast she assembled partially offscreen says that better than anything else. Well, not anything....
Highlight: Without exaggeration, the opening of S6E10 is easily my favorite sequence in all of GoT. The staging, the music, the mounting suspense even as it becomes increasingly obvious what's about to happen, the twisted religious references particularly in Cersei's mock confession to Unella, Tommen throwing himself out a window because he can't deal with the reality of how terrible his mother is, how Cersei gives absolutely no fucks whatsoever about murdering hundreds of people at once in a calculated act of vengeance largely prompted by her own poorly thought out actions - I love it all. It's the single most masterfully-executed act of villainy in the whole show - Daenerys torching King's Landing probably has a higher body count, but the presentation there is all muddled - and if I had any doubts about Cersei being my favorite multi-season major character they were silenced in this moment. The explosion of the Sept doesn't sit perfectly with me, because I liked the Tyrells and because of what I said about deaths like theirs and Renly's in the previous post under S2, but I think that unease only cements the strength of this sequence. It's an overused phrase in fandom these days, but GoT at its best is all about moral greyness that gives its audience room for multilayered reactions. Cersei nuking the Sept and making herself the sole power in King's Landing, which in a sense is just a more overt example of the kind of character/plot consolidation elsewhere represented by Daenerys's armada, is one of those events that's impossible to approach from a single angle if you care about any of the characters involved. And hey, it's not in the books (yet, presumably), so unlike Ned's death or the Red Wedding the GoT showrunners can take the credit for realizing this one.
Favorite death: Even leaving aside the Sept and related deaths there's a lot of good ones to choose from in S6. Ramsey is cathartic but too gory for me, Osha's was a clever callback but a little delayed, it's hard to pin down specific deaths when Daenerys incinerates the khals, and Arya only gets half credit for Walder Frey and his sons when she saves the rest of the house for the opening of S7. I'm thinking Hodor, not so much because I enjoy his character or the manner of his death but because it's a clever bit of playing with language (that must have been hell to render in other languages for dubbing) wrapped up in some entertainingly murky consent issues and some closed time loop weirdness. It's all very...extra? Is that the word for it?
Least favorite death: Offscreen deaths continue to be mostly letdowns, in this case Blackfish and the Waif. Way to botch the ending of Arya's already near-pointless Braavos arc, guys. Speaking of Arya, this spot goes to Lady Crane, whom the Waif somehow kills with a stool or something. It's a dumb way to send off an entertaining minor character.
#6 Season 8
Tumblr media
I swear that I'm not putting S8 this high solely because of Jonmund kind of sort of happening. I've never been very interested in either of them and the sex would be far too bear-on-otter to suit my pornographic preferences, but even so the choice to close out the series with them is hilarious.
I really don't need to elaborate on why S8 is down here; everyone who's ever watched the show has done as much in the nearly two years since it wrapped up. I do however need to explain why I've ranked not one but two seasons below it. My biggest argument here is that I don't believe it's fair to critique S8 for problems it inherited from earlier seasons. A non-comprehensive list:
Mad Queen Daenerys: unevenly built up beginning from S1 and continuing in some form through every following season
The questionable racial optics of Dany's army: also seeded as early as S1 and solidified by S3 with the Slaver's Bay arc
Cersei only succeeding because she makes stupid decisions and then lucks out until she doesn't: apparent from S1, directly lampshaded by Tywin in S3, fully on display with the Faith Militant arc of S5-6
Jaime not getting a redemption arc or falling in love with Brienne: evident with his repeated returns to Cersei throughout the show as one of the most consistent elements of his character, particularly in S4 and during the siege of Riverrun in S6
Tyrion grabbing the idiot ball/becoming a flat audience surrogate mouthpiece: started in S5 around the time the showrunners ran out of book material for him and wanted to make him more of a PoV character and his arc less of a downward spiral, although I've seen arguments that changes from the books involving his Tysha story and Shae set him on this trajectory even earlier
The hardening of Sansa's character: began in earnest in S4 and never let up from there
The strange ordering of antagonists: set down by S7's equally strange plot structure - the Night King had to come first with that setup
CleganeBowl and the dumber twists: from what I've heard the whole thing of writing around fans on the internet guessing plot twists started pretty much when the book content ended, so S5-6 maybe?
Yes, there's plenty to criticize about S8 on its own merits...but just as much that was merely the writers doing what they could at that point with deeply flawed material.
Highlight: This may sound cheesy, but the better parts of S8 are almost all the cinematic ones, whether that's E2 being a bottle episode with tons of poignant character send-offs before the big battle, a handful of deaths with actual satisfying weight like Jorah's and Theon's, and an epilogue that incorporates both closure for individuals and the broader uncertainty of messy socio-political systems that GoT has always been known for before working its way back to the Starks at the very end for some tidy bookending. Even imperfect moments like the Lannister twins' death and the resolution of Sansa's character felt weighty and appropriate based on what had come before.
Favorite death: Forget about the audio commentary attempting to flatten Cersei's character; Cersei and Jaime Lannister have an excellent end. Cersei especially, as the scenes of her stumbling her way down into the catacombs as the Red Keep crashes down around her really show off how her world is abruptly falling apart and how she retreats into her own self-interest at the end in spite of her demise being at least partially of her own doing. There's some stupid moments associated with these scenes, like Jaime dueling Euron to the death and CleganeBowl, but I can excuse those when the twins end up dying exactly where you'd expect them to: in each other's arms, in a ruined monument to their family's grand ambitions that, like Casterly Rock itself, was taken from another family.
Least favorite death: Quite a few dumb ones in S8 have become forever infamous. Missandei sticks out, and for me Varys too just as much because of how the writing pushes him to do the dumbest thing he could possibly do purely for the sake of killing him off ten minutes into the penultimate episode. But no one belongs here more than Daenerys Targaryen, killed at the height of a rushed and uncertain villain reveal by a man who takes advantage of their romantic history (who is also her family, because Targaryens) to stab her in a moment of vulnerability - pretty much only because another man tells him that Daenerys is the final boss. Narratively speaking that might be the case, but even so this is the end result of multiple seasons of middling-to-bad buildup. Not even Drogon burning the symbolism can salvage that. Also Fire Emblem: Three Houses did this scene and did it better.
#7 Season 5
Tumblr media
...Yeah, we're going to have to go there.
Sansa's rape is not a plot point that personally touches me much. It's terribly framed in the moment and the followup in later seasons is inconsistent at best, but it's not a kind of trauma I can relate to. On the other hand, in the very same episode Loras is tried and imprisoned for homosexuality, and Margery faces the same punishment for lying for her brother. That hits much closer to home, not just for the homophobia but also for the culture war undertones of the not!French Tyrells persecuted by a not!Anglo fanatic who later reveals himself to be the in-universe equivalent of a Protestant. The trial is just one part of Cersei's shortsighted scheming, just as Sansa being married off to Ramsey is part of Littlefinger's, and both of them get their comeuppance in the end...but it's unsettling all the same. I especially hate what the Faith Militant arc does to King's Landing in S5, swiftly converting it from my favorite setting in GoT to a tense theocratic nightmare that only remains interesting to me because Cersei is consistently awesome. What's more, pretty much everything about S5 that isn't viscerally uncomfortable is dragged out and dull instead: the Dorne arc, Daenerys's second season in Meereen, Arya in Braavos, Stannis and co. at Castle Black. The most any of these storylines can hope for is some kind of bombastic finale, and while several of them deliver it's not enough to make up for what comes before, or how disappointing everything here builds from S4. S4 has Oberyn, S5 has the Sand Snakes - I think that sums up the contrast well.
Highlight: S5 does get stronger near the end. As much as his character annoys me I did like the High Sparrow revealing his pseudo-Protestant bent to Cersei just before he imprisons her, and there's a cathartic rawness to Cersei's walk of atonement where you can both feel her pain and humiliation and understand that she's getting exactly what she deserves (and this is what leads into the climax of S6, so it deserves points just for that). The swiftness of Stannis's fall renders his death and that of his family a bit hollow, but it's brutal and final and fittingly ignominious for a character with such grand ambitions but so little relevance to the larger story. The fighting pits of Meereen sequence is cinematic if nothing else, and even the resolution to the Dorne arc salvages the whole thing a tiny bit by playing into the retributive cycles of vengeance idea (and Myrcella knows about the twincest and doesn't care, aww - no idea why that stuck with me, but it's cute all the same). Oh, and Hardhome...it's alright. Not great, not crap, but alright.
Favorite death: I don't know why, but Theon tossing Myranda to her death is always funny to me. Maybe because it's so unexpected?
Least favorite death: Arya's execution of Meryn Trant is meant to be another one of the season's big finale moments, but the scene is graphic and goes on forever and I can't help but be grossed out. This is different from, say, Shireen's death, which is supposed to be painful to witness.
#8 Season 7
Tumblr media
I can't tell if S7's low ranking is as self-explanatory as S8's or not. At least one recent retrospective on GoT's ruined legacy I've come across outright asserts that S7 is judged less harshly in light of how bad S8 was. If it were not immediately obvious by where I've placed each of them, I don't share that opinion.
Because S7 is just a mess, and the drop-off in quality is so much more painful here than it is anywhere else in the series except maybe from S4 to S5 (and that's more about S4 being as good as it is). The pacing ramps up to uncomfortable levels to match the shortened seasons, the structure pivots awkwardly halfway through from Daenerys vs. Cersei to Jon/Dany caring about ice zombies, said pivot relies largely on characters (mostly Tyrion) making a series of catastrophically stupid tactical decisions, and very few of the smaller set pieces land with any real impact as the show's focus narrows to its endgame conflict. As with S6 there are still some good ideas, but they're botched in execution. The conflict between Sansa and Arya matches their characters, but the leadup to that conflict ending with Littlefinger's execution is missing some key steps. Daenerys's diverse armada pitted against Cersei weaponizing the xenophobia of the people of King's Landing could have been interesting, but there's little room to explore that when Cersei keeps winning only because Tyrion has such a firm grip on the idiot ball and when Euron gets so much screentime he barely warrants. Speaking of Tyrion's idiot ball, does anyone like the heist film-esque ice zombie retrieval plotline? Its stupidity is matched only by its utter futility, because Cersei isn't trustworthy and nobody seems to ever get that.
And how could I forget Sam's shit montage? Sums up S7 perfectly, really. To think that that is part of the only extended length of time the show ever spends in the Reach....
Highlight: A handful of character moments save this season from being irredeemable garbage. As you can guess from my screencap choice, Olenna's final scene is one of them, even if Highgarden itself is given insultingly short shrift. S7 also manages what I thought was previously impossible in that it makes me care somewhat about Ellaria Sand, courtesy of the awful death Cersei plans for her and her remaining daughter. The other Sand Snakes are killed with their own weapons, which shows off Euron's demented creativity if nothing else. I like the entertainingly twisted choice to cut the Jon/Dany sex scene with the reveal that they're related. And, uh...the Jonmund ship tease kind of makes the zombie retrieval team bearable? I'm really grasping at straws here.
Favorite death: It's more about her final dialogue with Jaime than her actual death, but again I'm going to have to highlight Olenna Tyrell here for lack of better options. She drops the bombshell about Joffrey that the audience figured out almost as soon as it happened but still, makes it plain what I've been saying about how Jaime's arc has never really been about redemption, and is just about the only person to ever call Cersei out for that whole mass murder thing. There's a reason "I want her to know it was me" became a meme format.
Least favorite death: There aren't any glaringly bad deaths in S7, just mediocre or unremarkable ones. I still think the decision to have Arya finish off House Frey in the season's opening rather than along with their father at the end of S6 was a strange one that doesn't add much of dramatic value.
