Eight Games Bid Farewell: Xbox Game Pass Removals for September 2023

As the calendar turns to a new month, Xbox Game Pass subscribers eagerly anticipate the announcement of which titles will be leaving the service soon. Although Microsoft has not officially released the list of games departing Xbox Game Pass, it is expected that these titles will be removed around September 15.

The official announcement for Xbox Game Pass in the first half of September 2023 is anticipated to arrive on or around September 5. During this announcement, Microsoft will unveil the new games joining the service and reveal the titles that will be leaving, most likely on September 15. Keep in mind that some of these games may have a different removal date, possibly September 30.

Here are the eight games confirmed to be leaving Xbox Game Pass in September 2023

Notably, Metal: Hellsinger, Fuga: Melodies of Steel, Civilization 6, and Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony are among the titles that players may find difficult to bid farewell to. Metal: Hellsinger, a rhythm FPS game, garnered positive reviews and was even nominated for an award at The Game Awards 2022. Fuga: Melodies of Steel, a strategy game, received critical acclaim and recently received a sequel.

Civilization 6, as part of a long-standing strategy game series, needs no introduction. While its console version may not have been as popular as the PC counterpart, its removal from the service is sure to be a disappointment. Lastly, the Danganronpa series boasts a dedicated fanbase, and the removal of Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony Anniversary Edition from Xbox Game Pass is likely to be met with sadness.

On a positive note, Xbox Game Pass subscribers can look forward to a slew of exciting games arriving in September 2023, including Starfield, Lies of P (a Soulslike game)

Spike Chunsoft has released new information and screenshots for Dancanronpa Decadence, including an in-depth game system reveal for the bonus game Danganronpa S: Ultimate Summer Camp.

■ About

The acclaimed Danganronpa series, a collection of titles in which you expose the culprit of murder cases by refuting their contradictions with high-speed deductive action, will be coming to Nintendo Switch.

The story begins when highly gifted high school students from around the world are trapped inside an academy by the self-proclaimed headmaster known as Monokuma. In order to leave, the students are forced to participate in a killing game, and conduct Class Trials to find the culprit. When a student is found dead, you will gather statements and evidence through investigations, then navigate your way through Class Trials full of twists and turns.

You must determine the contradictions in the other students’ statements in the fully-voiced, well-paced Class Trials and refute them. The Class Trials are a fusion of deduction and action elements, creating an exciting gaming experience unlike any other.

The Nintendo Switch release comes in a luxurious package including the three main titles, Danganronpa 1, 2, and V3, as well as the brand-new boardgame, Danganronpa S: Ultimate Summer Camp. The digital versions of each title will also be available for download individually.

Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc Anniversary Edition

The first entry of the series introduced the concept of a killing game between trapped high school students and the Class Trials where they weed out the killer.

However, Danganronpa offers far more than just shock factor. The charming characters, mysterious storyline, and talented voice cast soon drew widespread attention, and its sales gradually increased since the release.

Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair Anniversary Edition

In stark contrast to the first game, which took place in an enclosed space, the second entry to the franchise is set on a tropical island. The main focus during Class Trials in the previous title was to point out the opponent’s contradicting statements, but this entry introduced new features such as agreeing with other students to advance the debate and dealing with students’ rebuttals, increasing immersion even further.

Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony Anniversary Edition

The third entry to the series is set in the Gifted Inmates Academy, and the main theme of the storyline is lies. Having been transferred to a new platform, the visual presentation has been greatly improved.

This title also features Ultimate Development Plan, a full-fledged bonus mode that’s unlocked after clearing the game.

Like the smartphone versions, the Nintendo Switch versions of each title contain the Anniversary Edition content, which includes a gallery mode featuring character voices and expressions, in-game illustrations, and character reference files.

Develop Students and Collect Hope Shards

Danganronpa S: Ultimate Summer Camp follows your favorite Ultimate gifted students as they develop their talents at a summer camp and discover Hope Shards. Complete the boardgame to obtain that character’s Hope Shard, and collect 10 Hope Shards to progress the main story.

A Tropical Summer Camp Filled with Ways to Develop Your Characters

—1. Growth Square

Stopping on a Growth Square will grant experience points. As you advance to the later islands, the amount of experience gained from Growth Squares will increase. These squares are the most direct path when it comes to character growth, so you can’t go wrong with stopping on one when you’re not sure where to go.

—2. Battle Square

Battle Squares trigger battles with Monokuma-type monsters known as Monobeasts. Upon defeating them, players can earn experience points and currency used in the boardgame known as Jabbercoins, but if they lose, they will be sent back to the beginning of the board, resulting in a time loss. There are also Midboss Battle Squares, which spawn Monobeasts that are stronger than those found in normal Battle Squares.

—3. Event Square

Event squares trigger various events that occur in the summer camp. Some events have multiple options that will change the outcome and resulting stat increase.

—4. Friendship Square

Friendship Squares trigger conversations between characters. Players can enjoy interactions between characters across different titles that wouldn’t be possible in the mainline series. Character stats will also increase after the conversation is over, so it’s quite an attractive square to stop on.

Character Types and Special Effects

The characters that can be developed are one of three types: Athletic, Cerebral, or Balanced. Each has a special ability that triggers on the field (boardgame) and a specific battle command.

On the field, type-specific special abilities will trigger at random at the beginning of the turn. Athletic types have Frenzy, which allows them to advance twice as far as the number they rolled and increases their stats in battle.

Type-specific battle commands like the Cerebral type’s Ultra Magic, which inflicts 1.5 times the damage of a standard attack, can only be used once per battle.

Keep an Eye Out for Other Useful Squares!

—5. Card Square

Card Squares grant useful cards that can grant an advantage in the boardgame. There’s a limit to how many cards can be held at once, so be sure to use them to reap their benefits. Card effects include movement buffs that double the number of squares you can advance and those that increase battle stats.

—6. Shop Square

On Shop Squares, Jabbercoins earned from battle can be used to purchase equipment and cards, and unneeded cards can be sold for Jabbercoins. It seems there are also ways to acquire items without spending coins…

—7. Talent Square

On Talent Squares, the player can pick and acquire one of three types of Talent Shards, which are needed to learn new skills. The quantity and type of shard required varies depending on the skill, so it would be a good idea to decide how you would like to develop your character before deciding on the shard type and skills to learn.

Upgrade your character’s offense, or specialize in healing. Be sure to plan out your character’s role for when you’re done developing your character and form a party to take on the Tower of Despair.

Challenge the Tower of Despair with the Characters You Developed!

Characters developed in the boardgame can be used in the Tower of Despair, a battle mode in which players fend off waves of enemies. Form a party of up to four members and take on Monobeasts awaiting you in the 200-story tower.

In the Tower of Despair, characters don’t grow stronger, even after winning battles. Carefully developing characters in the boardgame mode is the key to victory!

The battles on each floor have three missions assigned to them, and clearing them will grant Monocoins as a reward. Monocoins are needed to unlock new characters, so be sure to take on as many missions as possible.

In addition, when Monobeasts are defeated, the player can earn various drops and materials. Gather materials to craft equipment and make your party even stronger.

There Are Many MonoMono Machines in the School Store

Spend your Monocoins and Monomicoins at the MonoMono Machines in the School Store for a chance to pull new characters and items. The three types of MonoMono Machines have different drop rates and require machine-specific coins.

You will gain a greater advantage as you obtain new characters and items, so don’t hesitate to use up your coins as they come in.

For example, the MonoMono Yachine is more likely to grant swimsuit SR cards, while the Golden MonoMono Machine only contains high-rarity cards.

Don’t worry about saving coins–keep spending them to fill out your roster and inventory!

All content such as characters, character upgrade cards, and items can be unlocked by playing the game. All characters and character upgrade cards can also be purchased through the MonoMono Machines at the School Store with real-world money.

Danganronpa Decadence is due out for Switch on November 4 in Japan and December 3 in North America and Europe.

Oumasai Week is an event which celebrates the relationship between Shuichi Saihara and Kokichi Ouma, two characters of Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony. It will consist of being given prompts every day of the week, these prompts are to be suitable for Cosplayers, Writers, and Artists. If you partake in A different media(ex: songwriting), please tell me so I can determine whether or not the prompt is suitable for your media or if I should give you A new prompt. This event was made for A discord server I'm in simply named "Oumasai". It's anniversary is happening at the week this event will take place, so I wanted to celebrate like this. This event will take place on March 10-16, 2019.
