Today I woke up thinking of a Kingdom AU of some kind with king Fugaku basically selling Shisui's freedom to the nearby enemy kingdom with Danzō as its king as a way to form an alliance through marriage

same anon as the last ask about shisui and danzo. i love morality swap but you know what i love more? shisui and danzo with the same level of fucked up. being malicious TOGETHER. maybe it didnt start out that way. maybe shisui was originally a pure little kid, but came to understand danzo's way of thinking a little too much... maybe he started to agree with it. another of my favorite concepts is ROOT!shisui. i dont think it was ever confirmed in canon, but it sure seems like he was. i have SO many concepts for the intricacies of ROOT

Some time ago someone posted plenty of speculating (with intent of painting Shisui in a very negative light) like whole three posts of meta about how Shisui wasn't a good person at all. Lemme tell ya, I ate that shit up, here is one of them preserved thanks to Wayback.

One thing burrowed its way into my brain and stayed here since then: Shisui and Danzo share their nindo. Which... Really can fuel the way one can see their relationship, something Shisui was either taught or learned himself. That's absolutely delicious.

One of posts from that person suggested that possibly it could be Shisui that leaked informations about coup to Danzo ahead of time and with much more precision than eternally internally conflicted Itachi. That possibility does incredible things to me.

That swiftly goes to an image of Shisui being entirely willing to sacrifice himself for Danzo, even eager to do so. Would they spend their last night together more specially, I wonder.

I mean, Shisui would be a fantastic target for Danzo, who could invite this poor half-orphan to his services, root or not root, and shape him into what he saw right. Danzo could use what he knew about Kagami over Shisui and threw in support that, I assume, Shisui would eagerly use (novel suggests Shisui's dad is a vegetable and I enjoy the thought) and be grateful for it. What a perfect little weapon in the making...

As for Shisui and Danzo being fucked up together... I have no words that sum it up better than this absolute gem of a fic. Gods.

What does it for me in danshisu, aside from horror and angst and pain ofc, it's the physical side... Something about Shisu being this wide and strong and healthy late teen/young adult in his prime vs Danzo presenting (keyword) as a frail old man, would look almost fragile next to a taller and stronger Shisu and then I remember as they were presented in that one game animation with Danzo absolutely fucking Shisui up and I just djdkdjdhrbenekeyetjejrir

Sugar Daddy DanShisu AU sounds so... Amazingly crunchy... Must chomp on it (affectionate)

It always started in my brain with one of two scenes:

a) Hiruzen making breakfast for Shisui. Shisui has no idea why this famous politician is making him breakfast for him and why is that guy even here in Danzo's apartment. I mean, imagine this is what you wake up to after a delightful night of being railed into a mattress by a eerily hot elder man. Woops.

b) Shisui being embarassed by whole ordeal while his long distance bf (Itachi, casually chatting head in Kisame's lap and don't ask them what bf stands for) while being gently encouraged.

But. Yeah. It all burns down to Shisui's journey of awkward as fuck first meetings (but yaaaay moneyyyy and Danzo pays well) to him not being embarassed at all about stealing expensive yoghurt from Danzo's fridge all casually and Danzo just enjoys Shisui's presence (still pays him but more out of habit).

Favorite thing about them

His compassion, his kindness and his empathy. The fact that he was one of the strongest yet he never boasted about it. Also how much he cared for Itachi

Least favorite thing about them

His death, and not because I wanted him to survive. As a writer myself, I understand the need to kill off certain characters for specific things to happen, in this case the massacre and everything after that, but it's the How that I hate.

For someone who is remembered for being one of the strongest, best genjutsu user ever and many other things, his death was so... Underwhelming. And yes, he didn't expect for Danzō to attack him, but still I feel like he shouldn't have gone down as easily as he did.

From Itachi's novel, this specific moment of Shisui talking to Itachi about why he approached him and how much being around Itachi helped him after his teammate's death

Kotoamatsukami should have had a bigger impact on the story given how strong it was said to be and how dangerous it was in Danzō's hands and also the 10 years cooldown is bullshit.

Ok so for starters I didn't care much about him I gotta admit but I started to really like him when I got hit in face by DanShisu bc I am, as we know, a complete masochist in terms of ships of choice. But these days I would say that I greatly enjoy his ruthlessness as a character and gold eyes hehe. I still can't believe that guy cut off his own most likely perfectly healthy arm and removed his own also nice eye for more power. I like a lot of things.

man is he a dumbass sometimes but i blame his age lol but honestly, I feel like sometimes Danzo's behavior here and there was really weird and stupid and done only for sake of making him seem both darker and dumber. As I said, I can blame his old age or the fact this is a shounen series so we gotta deal with it.

But also I deeply enjoy my fujo brainrot so yeah, he and Hiruzen. They are 100% absolutely divorced couple that still cannot get over each other. In one HiruDan fic I read a while ago (ah I found it!!!) they were described as being too familiar with each other, which both simplified and complicated things between them, as they know too much about each other in worst and best ways.

Him and Kagami, weirdly enough, I mostly don't see as romantic in canon but I think they maybe were fucking so there is that... But I enjoy scenarios in which their bond runs deeper *eyes ruler!Danzo AUs*. I also like to think some of Danzo's complexes stemmed from Kagami, which may or may not be related to...

Tobirama, but entirely onesided. I like to think Danzo worshipper Tobirama but kept his distance, both physical and mental sense. Crush was here, but Danzo constantly denied himself even dreaming about. He's a loser like this. Maybe Tobirama's heart was somewhere else too.

And Shisui. Oh, Shisui. I like to think Shisui unknowingly awakened some of Danzo's impulses he thought to have choked down decades ago. Maybe it was because of Kagami, maybe something else. It's pretty complicated and I feel like I wrote too much already jdshfsd point is Shisui isn't in on a fun ride.

I... greatly hate the general mischaracterisation Danzo has going on in fandom bc everybody need to villanize an antagonist further for shits and giggles.

No, he didn't "punish" people just bc he felt like it. He puts great faith and trust in his people/tools, and if they fail, he chooses to believe that a) they did their best and b) as such, it was his fault as he misjudged their capabilities. It's greatly expanded in Kinoe's backstory (oh the FOOD!!! though he still did some silly shit rip) where he becomes furious only when he realizes that Kinoe was doing things of his own choosing, going against Danzo's wishes. Siiigh. Dadzo was so nice too... I think a lot about him and Tenzo *happy sigh*
