As we keep going, day by day, we build up experiences, ideas, attitudes, and responses that all help us find those hidden treasures along the way (the pony in the pile of poop, as it were). We may have to put something down in order to dig for those treasures, but as Tolkien wrote, ��a treasure that cannot be cast aside in need is no treasure at all” (or something like that; Aragorn says it when he finds the leaf pin that Pippin managed to remove from his cloak and toss onto the ground for Aragorn to find). It’s hard to remember things sometimes when Aragorn’s involved. Anyway, we can cast off our treasures if we need to in order to find something more precious, and we can let go of what we don’t really need in order that something of more dire need can be found. Use your “Big Person” voice to speak with authority, and call on your Ancestors if you need help. Keep going today, and don’t be afraid to let go of something/anything that’s too heavy to keep carrying.

If you're someone who is recovering from a betrayal - love, career, family, religion…any betrayal. Normally you will have your guard up. And that's a good thing. When you've been duped, you suddenly have very good hindsight don't you? You see all of those red flags that you ignored along the way. Now your senses are heightened to those red flags. The amazing @barbaradoingstuff got me a wonderful new gift today, Mythic Oracle: Wisdom of the Ancient Greek Pantheon by Carisa Mellado with absolutely beautifully illustrated cards by Michelle-Lee Phelan. This is a deck of #oraclecards, which is similar to a #tarot deck in that it's used for #divination. However, unlike tarot where most decks I've seen use the same major and minor arcana with different artistic interpretations, each oracle deck is vastly different. This deck comes with a guidebook that explains the #mythology and meaning of each card and gives a few suggestions for different spreads to try. This deck is based on #greekmythology with each card representing a different god, goddess, magical being, or hero. There are 45 cards in all, each beautifully illustrated with a deep unique meaning to pull from each. Whenever I get a new divination tool, the first thing I do is ask how I can define my relationship with the deck. For this deck, I drew #Hecate, the goddess of #crossroads and #magick. This means that life changing crossroads are ahead of me and I'm being called to make a choice on how I want to proceed. I think this means that I'll need to choose how best to use the tools at my disposal but it also could be a general call for me to make a decision because I'm generally not the best at that. This deck is absolutely beautiful and given my lifelong obsession with Greek mythology, this is something I'm extremely excited to use.
