Summary:

Steve doesn’t get a word in before there’s another splash. Robin squeals. He tears his gaze from the demobats, which dip and dodge around each other in a strangely graceful, hypnotizing dance, and looks at the water again because how the fuck many are there? He was sure they’d all been killed. He didn’t think there were any left. This was supposed to be over. But it’s not another demobat. It’s not a demogorgon, or Vecna, or any of the other insane shit they’ve seen over the last few years. It’s not even a fish. It’s a person breaking the surface of the water, sputtering and gasping with dark hair plastered over pale skin, and when they reach up to clear their vision, silver rings glint in the waning sunlight. Or: Against all odds, Eddie is alive, complete with two new demobat pals. Which means Steve is forced to face some feelings he threw onto a mixtape and then ignored because those feelings were wrapped up in too much grief and it was easier to just erase Eddie Munson from the equation of Steve Harrington’s Big Bisexual Crisis.

In light of recent news, I'm polishing and sharing some aai2 snippets, bc once we get the new translation I'll have a whole new script to play with

This post has two snippets, bc they're both very short.

Takes place in my AA HDM AU, around when Miles meets Sebastian. The first is a "you pressed the wrong statement" scene, I think, while the second is an original bit that I'd have take place soon after the first time they see Sebastian's daemon shift.

The boy smirked. "Hmph. My pops always says… "You may be foolish in youth, but you must not be stupid"."

Miles waited for him to complete the odd argument.

…And kept waiting.

"I'm not stupid!" Debeste suddenly burst out, the daemon on his shoulder becoming some species of moth.

(Wh- What… Was that… uh…?)

Alethea shifted uncomfortably among the ruffles of Miles' jabot.

Judge Courtney cut in. "He means he's not stupid enough to tell a lie."

".....Oh? I- um- I knew that!" Debeste's daemon changed again to imitate Courtney's newt daemon. "I'm not stupid enough to lie! So the fingerprints are the honest truth!"

"Miles…" a soft voice whispered against his jaw, "Something's not right here."

"With the case?" Miles murmured back, "Obviously."

"Not the case!" she hissed, "The prosecutor! Doesn't his behavior remind you of anyone?"

"Uh… no?"

Alethea huffed. "Idiot!"

"Miles, that prosecutor…" said a quiet voice by his jaw, "he's still unsettled. Don't you find that odd?"

Alethea had a point. Most employers wouldn't so much as consider someone unsettled, as an unstable personality is considered a sign of unreliability — and that included the bar association. What had this boy done to acquire his badge so young?

Ally's daemon is a small, anxious, yappy dog and Ling's daemon is a big scary cat. Maybe a Chihuahua and a tiger? Idk. Makes for some adorable symbolism & imagery during their date in season 3!! This giant feral cat cradling a small, wide-eyed dog, the two daemons snuggling together while their humans kiss.

Expanding on that though, I have ideas for the other characters. Richard’s daemon is a wolf, I feel. I think that Georgia has a Golden Retriever or something, and of course John has his frog. Nelle has her childhood hamster Millie, and uhhhh I’m not sure about the others lol

But it’s a very interesting concept regardless
