Less Astrid comforting Hiccup...more Hiccup comforting Astrid (and not bc he had to save her from almost dying or whatever. again)
#httyd#astrid hofferson#oki when youre a pacifist and having moral dilemmas over all your friends#human and dragon killing peoplelr and you hug your gf covered in blood. yay#she is so deeply entrenched in that culture of violence moreso than any of the other riders (partly due to her anger issues but. like#in general growing up the 'ideal viking warrior') and that juxtaposition to hiccup is sooo fascinating#but never explored beyond 'woah girlboss look at her fight those guys for like 10 seconds'#anyways astrid is goated but what if she is a little insecure in how berk as changed bc she devoted her entire life to killing dragons#during her childhood and Loves stormfly and is happier now but being 'the fighter' on their team always seems to#fall to her (when hiccups not being weird and badass but i digress) so then with the 'leader' of said team being a self proclaimed pacifist!#And is also your best friend/boyfriend (i am a best friends hiccstrid agenda pisher 5ever..🤫)#who is constantly openly annoyed at your other friends for their also violent but less severe behavior. where does that leave you?#tfw u go in for a kiss and he recoils bc youre covered in gore and viscera 💔#and thats the Least of it anyway. in my big beautiful mind..#hiccup haddock#rtte#deyas dragons#moth.txt

I love those fics where Toothless is actually older than Hiccup and it’s portrayed as this like ‘Oh, look at this gigantic thing and the small child that keeps following him around because the gigantic thing thinks it’s his baby’.
It’s so awesome because it further expands on dragon family dynamics and kinda shows the perspective the dragons had on the time of the Red Death through how the treat the young ones of Berk— specifically Hiccup, someone who literally looked like the human version of a wet cat.
(And not entirely in a pathetic way either because even when wet, cats will hiss at you.)
There’s only one thing I wish there was more of in them. Toothless being like a bat </3. That’s really what they were leaning towards in the first movie and I was so sad when there was none of that in the rest. He lost his batty qualities. Toothless isn’t cat-like. He’s batty. And he would be so much cooler if they had leaned into that instead of making him a giant puppy.
(I wouldn’t have minded the giant puppy qualities if we were sometimes reminded that he’s still a beast throughout it all. Y’know, a show of how he’s not domesticated, he’s just with Hiccup. He’s still a dragon.)
(Idk, it makes people seem dumb for being scared of dragons when they don’t acknowledge that the large, lizard pet currently drooling all over that kid’s pale, pale face is still a dragon and they’re not going to adhere to dog rules or even human rules because they aren’t dogs and they’re aren’t human. They are large, scaly beasts.
The point of How to Train Your Dragon 1 was an acknowledgment that ‘yes, these are large and terrifying creatures’. ‘But they’re also ______’. They acknowledge that Toothless was still a dragon but there was more to him than that.
In the way that a lot of society hates wasps, but they’re still essential to the environment. Or how people are terrified of lions, tigers, and cheetahs but they’re still pretty fucking cool.
Like, yes, they are dangerous but they’re also just beings trying to survive just like you and I. They showed how dragons wouldn’t have a reason to attack the people of Berk if they genuinely hadn’t been given a reason to. That reason being… the Red Death.)
#how to train your dragon#httyd#toothless#hiccup haddock#fanfic#ao3#prompt#I guess??#I would’ve liked to see how toothless interacted in a ‘pack’ setting#Because dragons do have kids and an older Toothless would’ve definitely looked at lanky limbed Hiccup#and said ‘Is anyone going to take him or should I?’ and just didn’t wait for an answer#I would’ve snatched him up too#It’s a free kid#A free kid trying his hardest to give me back an entire limb#(Granted he is the reason Toothless doesn’t have it anymore but you get my point)#Just… let the dragons be scary#AND have them be nice to their riders#You can do both!!

Throwing this into the ether:
Soooo…. Umaroth said that the Eldunarya have watched Murtagh and Thorn for a long time. watched them.
I’m guessing they had three reasons they couldn’t intervene much in Murtagh’s life.
1) The last time they tried to touch someone’s mind, the egg thief freaked out and botched his mission.
2) Murtagh’s proximity to Galbatorix was a problem. They couldn’t do anything to make Galbatorix aware of their presence. Especially after he was rooting around in Murtagh’s mind baring all his secrets.
3) Murtagh’s own mental barriers which were a result/product of the cut throat court he grew up in.
I’m torn between hoping that Murtagh never finds out how they pulled strings for Eragon’s journey and seemingly did nothing to help Murtagh and Thorn, and hoping that he does. (“He was just a baby and you abandoned him to be tortured by a madman!” -Murtagh most likely)
If he does find out it would make for delicious and tense angst and be another hurdle the brothers have to overcome in their relationship. Mostly on Murtagh’s side since he’s the grumpy resentful one. Not to mention, it’s one more thing for him to reconcile. Did the Eldunarya write him off because of who his father is? Or were they playing the hide but subtly help card but due to Murtagh’s upbringing they couldn’t help only observe. In which case, he gets it. Self preservation and Galbatorix would have LOVED to have conquered the other Eldunarya. But on the other hand, what the hell guys??
Anyyyyyway… just one more question on the list of things that are KILLING ME because we have to wait three years minimum for a new story to come out!
#murtagh#umaroth inheritance cycle#eragon#one of those things in life where I understand the logic of it but I still really hate it#depending on how angry he is and what is said I can’t imagine murtagh being very willing to work with or for the eldunarya#outside of magical education and dragon rider history

On this again, another issue that is like glossed over in discussions of rtte other than its treatment of poc characters (which Is just a franchise thing, but rtte gave a lot of decent concepts and Could've changed that at least and didn't. I digress), The oversaturation of Hiccup leg jokes gets old Really fast.
Like considering he only ever makes them himself a few times, and rarely finds them funny when Snotlout and the twins do, at somepoint it stops being 'haha joking about your disability with friends' and starts being 'wow that's mildly ableist ridicule'
#rtte#part of what i meant when i said rtte is bad at making the idea of the riders actually enjoying each other's company believable#hiccup will be like 'haha laugh it up guys' then roll his eyes and like. thats it#he makes them himself a Few times but like. you get what im saying right#especially that time it wasnt even a joke when mala was like kidn of into him and snotlout said 'you know he only has oje leg right' ???#i think we brushed past that too quickly#anyways yeah main tagging this rtte has soooo many issues amd its grating that people#Choose not to acknowledge them or act like its an attack on their enjoyment when you do#httyd#hiccup haddock#moth.txt#deyas dragons

always been you

summary - you’ve always been jealous of hiccups connection with astrid, but little did you know…
pairing - hiccup (httyd2) x bff!reader
word count - +2k
✨⭐️✨⭐️✨⭐️✨⭐️✨⭐️✨⭐️✨⭐️✨⭐️✨⭐️
You didn’t want to come across as overbearing or needy but you did miss your best friend significantly.
Hiccup had been on a scouting mission with Astrid all week, leaving you to keep things tidy at the workshop with Grubber.
Every day felt a little longer.
It wasn’t that you didn’t think they could handle what’s out there, but more the fact you can’t handle it always being Hiccup & Astrid. Always together.
Always going on missions together. Always flying with each other. Their dragons were best friends so why wouldn’t they be? You should be happy that the Chief and the best warrior in Berk are close.
You only wished they weren’t as close as they are.
For purely selfish reasons of the heart, of course.
Sure, you and Hiccup had been best friends since you were babes. But there was always something locked tight in your chest that was reserved for whenever you were around Hiccup - like some sort of fluttering or an extra heartbeat.
You keep telling yourself that it could be a deepening crush, but you refuse to allow yourself fully into that thought because you’re terrified the feelings wouldn’t be reciprocated.
As you walk home after a long day at the workshop, you notice Hiccup and Astrid flying back in from their scouting trip.
The sun was paining delicate pinks and oranges onto the sky and you watched as Hiccup flew through the clouds, like a finger moving through cotton. He always looked so effortless up there. So at peace.
Berkians swarmed Astrid and Hiccup as they landed, dragons in perfect shape. Riders also. Phew.
You moved to walk down to meet them but stopped short when you watched Astrid give Hiccup a tight hug, lips moving closely over his ear.
“Hiccup, you’re back!” A child shouted, excited that his Chief had come home.
“Tell us everything.”
“Yeah.”
You didn’t feel up to heading down there anymore with that tight feeling in your chest returning. You gulped back a hard feeling in the back of your throat and started up the path that led to the top of the hill.
✨⭐️✨⭐️✨⭐️✨⭐️✨⭐️✨⭐️✨⭐️✨⭐️✨⭐️
The view from the top was indescribable.
You could see for miles and yet there was barely anything to see, and yet it was perfect.
There was something peaceful about watching the ocean wash away and come back. It was rhythmic. Routine. And with the sun casting its pastel glows over the water it made it all the more special.
You sat on the very edge, legs tucked up to your chin and your head resting on your knees.
There wasn’t that much space between you and the edge. Hiccup had nearly grounded you from leaving the house once when you’d nearly fallen over the edge, but luckily he’d been there.
You felt free up here.
Almost like you could—
“You better not be even thinking what you’re thinking.”
Hiccup and Toothless landed behind you with a thump. Hiccup looked worried and Toothless looked ready.
“You don’t know what I’m thinking.”
“You’re thinking about how freeing it would be to fall.” You felt Hiccup sit down next to you.
You realised that was what you’d been thinking… but not in a catastrophic way. More in a way where you wished you could grow wings, like your dragons, and fly off into the sunset.
“Well, not…” You felt like you had to clarify, but got cut off.
“No I know.” Hiccup was watching the sunset when you looked at him, “I felt the same way. That’s why I built my own wings. Ever since I first got to fly Toothless i’ve always wanted to be able to fly with him, too. You know?”
“Mhm.” You nodded.
“You’re awfully quiet.”
“Am I? Sorry.” You mumbled.
“Hey. What have we said about apologising for no reason?” Hiccup shuffled closer to you.
You breathed like you were about to say something.
“Don’t say it!” Hiccup warned you, earning a laugh from you.
“I want to, though.”
“Well don’t. Otherwise I’ll have Toothless play drop and catch with you.” Hiccup poked your side and you laughed even more.
You almost rolled forwards and off the cliff, but Hiccup’s arm reached around the far side of your waist and pulled you back. You were still laughing when your back hit the ground.
You kept laughing until you slowly realised that Hiccup was laying down - quite closely - next to you. His eyes were watching your smile and his arm was still firmly secured around your waist.
“You’re going to be the death of me.”
“Don’t be so dramatic.” You chuckled.
You turned to look up at the sky for a brief moment, before returning your gaze to Hiccup who was still looking at you.
“What?” You asked softly.”
“Nothing. I just—.”
Hiccup was rudely interrupted by Toothless coming to lick a stripe of saliva over his face and down his chest, sticking to his armour. You laughed at the sight, sitting up as you watched Hiccup groan.
“Toothless… You know that doesn’t wash out.” Hiccup flicks away some saliva and Toothless sits on his hind legs, looking proud of himself.
Toothless starts dancing round in a circle, laughing in his own way along with you.
You stand up and make your way over to the Night Fury, as Hiccup continues to wash off the dragon bleh…
Toothless makes his way over to you and bows his head for you to touch. Hiccup’s dragon has always been so gentle and calm around you. People often say it’s his soul imitating yours. Toothless closes his eyes as his forehead bumps against yours.
How anyone could be anything but in awe of these magical creatures is a mystery.
Hiccup comes to stand next to you, standing only a bit taller than you.
“He likes you more than he likes me.” Hiccup says, scratching behind Toothless’ ear.
“Oh please. He would dive off a cliff to save you, but he’d be the one to push me off thinking that it was play-time.”
“I think he’d surprise you.” Hiccup wandered around Toothless and climbed onto the saddle. “C’mon.”
“C’mon, what?” You asked, puzzled.
“We’re going for a ride.” He held out his arm for you.
“Right now?”
“I think that’s what I’m asking…”
“Hiccup… You just got back from…”
“And I want to spend some time with you. So… please.” He gestured again and Toothless made a sound like he wanted you to join them too.
“I’m not playing drop and fetch, though. I mean it.”
“I promise.”
You took ahold of Hiccup’s hand, ignoring the tight, fluttering, sensation in your chest and allowed him to pull you up in front of him. You’d tried sitting behind him once and had nearly fallen off when Toothless did a nose dive, so ever since you’d been riding up front.
Hiccup’s arms tightened around you and grabbed ahold of where he needed to guide Toothless.
“Ready?” He asked, his voice sending goosebumps over your skin from how close he was.
You nodded.
And you took off.
✨⭐️✨⭐️✨⭐️✨⭐️✨⭐️✨⭐️✨⭐️✨⭐️✨⭐️
The first part of the flight was always the scariest.
Toothless shot up into the sky, making you lean back into Hiccup more and Hiccup hold onto you a little tighter.
Once you levelled out, you soared through the clouds.
It was so serene up here, you envied how free the dragons just feel every time they fly. With the sun in the distance, feeling like you’re shooting towards it, it feels like something out of a dream.
You closed your eyes, let out a deep breath and allowed your other sense to take over. The sound of air whipping around you as you flew at speed. The taste of the cold air as you passed through clouds. The smell of dragon - it was weirdly comforting. And the touch of Hiccup. The last one brought you the most comfort of all.
“I could stay up here forever.” You said.
“I wish we could.”
“Toothless probably wouldn’t be a fan of flying forever.” You leant over to scratch Toothless behind the ear and he softly grumbled in reply.
“He probably would be if it was for you. Me on the other hand? Pfft, forget about it.”
“Oh please. Your bud would do anything for you. I mean he literally saved you from one of the biggest fire explosions I’ve ever seen.”
“And you’ve seen lots of them have you?” He joked, making you nudge your elbow back into his ribs. “Okay, okay!”
A few minutes of silence passed by, just you two and Toothless effortlessly gliding amongst the clouds.
“I wanted to talk to you about something.” Hiccup said.
“Okay.”
“I… I just…It’s…”
“Hiccup, if it’s about something that happened on your scouting mission with Astrid then I already know.” You tilted your head around a little to see him. His face was full of confusion and you gave him the slightest smile even though you could feel your heart dropping through your chest.
“You do?”
“Yeah I thought it was pretty obvious.”
“Okay.. Well, yeah.. I mean…”
“You don’t have to talk to me about it Hiccup. It’s none of my business.”
You turned back around, not wanting to hear much more about how Hiccup had fallen for Astrid. How they were now together. How you were completely out of the picture now.
“Wait… What?” Hiccup exclaimed, making you jump a little from how loud he shouted in your ear.
Toothless looked back for a moment with a devilsome grin on his normally innocent face.
“Bud…?” Hiccup asked warily.
Toothless must’ve thought that Hiccup said something different, because it was at that moment that Hiccup realised you two were no longer going to enjoy the sunset or clouds.
Toothless took the opportunity to tilt downwards, before plummeting through the sky towards the ocean.
You screamed as Hiccup tried his best to get Toothless to listen to him - unsuccessfully.
Hiccup’s arms tightened infinitely around you as he tried to control Toothless the best he could, but there was no stopping this big lump of scales.
Toothless dive right to the seawater before gliding straight across it for a brief moment, then shooting right back up in the sky again.
“Bud, seriously… What are you playing at?”
As you got up to some height, Toothless spread his wings as far as he could then.
“Oh no.” Hiccup sighed.
Then you were all falling down backwards. Toothless had his tongue sticking out as if he was enjoying every moment of this, whereas you were hanging on for dear life.
“Toothless!” Hiccup shouted, kicking his leg in a certain way to control Toothless’ tail better.
Everything calmed down a little after that, Toothless going back to gliding as you made your way home to Berk now the sun had set.
“You and I are having words when we get back, bud.” Hiccup tried to sound stern but it was well known that the dragon would be the one to get his way.
✨⭐️✨⭐️✨⭐️✨⭐️✨⭐️✨⭐️✨⭐️✨⭐️✨⭐️
As you stepped off Toothless your legs took some time to regain familiarity with solid ground.
Then as the adrenaline was wearing off, you started laughing - letting out all of the wired energy. You stood up tall after letting your legs have a moment, only to turn around to see Hiccup standing close in front of you.
You’d missed the moment where Toothless nudges Hiccup closer towards you, but it you’d had seen it then it would’ve made this next part less unexpected.
A dragon always knows.
“What?” You let out a small, nervous, laugh. “Hiccup, what?”
Hiccup hummed to himself, with a small smile on his face.
“Astrid was right.” He said.
Your face went neutral, trying to hide the fact you were affected by Hiccup bringing up Astrid.
“Right about what?”
“About how big of a dumbass I am.” He stepped closer.
“I don’t…” Your brows furrowed.
Hiccup moved forwards again, reaching out to ghost his palm over your cheek. You looked towards his palm slightly, nervous about what he was doing.
Your breath hitched when his skin made contact with yours.
He was so close in front of you, you’d frozen to the spot with anticipation over whatever he was doing.
“Hiccup.” You whispered.
Toothless shrunk into the shadows of the background as night fell, leaving you too alone to stand on what felt like the top of the world - together.
“Everyone told me I should’ve said something sooner.” Hiccup said, more to himself than to you.
“Hiccup, you’re not making any sense.”
“No. What doesn’t make any sense is my feelings for you!” He reached to hold the other side of your cheek now, framing your face so he could keep your focus on him, “What doesn’t make sense is that I feel lost when you’re not near. I feel weak when I haven’t seen you in days. I feel a…a.. sort of tight feeling in my chest every time you’re around. What doesn’t make sense is how I fell for someone like you, when I’m someone… like me…”
Hiccup dropped his hands, eyes widening as if he’d been in a trance when he had been talking.
You watched him stand there, watching you with nervousness now.
“What doesn’t make sense to me is how someone as great and as clever as the great Chief of Birk, couldn’t possibly understand how someone like me really likes him.”
You nervously gulp as you watch realisation take over his face.
“Wait… really?”
“Pretty sure.” You smiled.
“Well I guess we’re both dumbasses.”
Hiccup extended his arm to wrap on the side of your waist, pulling you towards him and not stopping until your lips were close enough to kiss his.
He kissed you like he’d been waiting an eternity for this moment, holding onto your waist tightly as if you’d even had thought about move away from him.
Your fingers curled around the delicate plaits in his hair that you’d tied, keeping your body taught against his.
As you both pulled away, you stayed close to one another - breathing the same air as if separate space simply wasn’t an option anymore.
You didn’t say anything - you didn’t have to - but you did have to chuckle at the situation.
Not even an hour ago you’d been heartbroken at the thought that his heart belonged to someone else. Now you realised that his heart had never been set on anyone but you. It had been you all along. And you knew, because your heart felt exactly the same way.

HEYYY I HAVE AN IDEA so like hiccup with saying “girlfriend?!?!?! That’s my WIFE” when someone says something along the lines of “tell your girlfriend to get out of my face” after they insult either reader or hiccup or just something like that
She is my wife!
Hiccup x Fem!reader
Since the words girlfriend and wife were specifically used, I assumed that the reader is feminine.
I had something of a fight with my father, and I had the urge to punch an authority figure, which may or may not have slipped through in this fic.
Warnings: None in particular, there are some curses and the one horny thought from the reader.
You didn’t really get why you were here. No, that was a lie. You understood why you were here.
One of the tribes allied with Berk had a dragon problem and as the “heralds” of the dragon-human peace and cooperation you and the dragon riders were expected to interfere in order to solve the problem.
That and Hiccup would use any excuse to get out of Berk for a little while. Plus, it was hard to really entrust that task to anyone else.
Politically speaking, sending someone other than Hiccup or the dragon riders could be viewed as Berk looking down on the tribe asking for help. On the other hand, someone inexperienced could make matters worse with the dragons in question.
There was Valka, you supposed, she met all of the criteria as far as experience and status were concerned, but while her dragon skills were unmatched—except for maybe Hiccup— her people skills could still use some work.
So, yes, generally, you understood why you were here instead of someone else. You even understood why Hiccup had insisted you join him. Not that you would have let him go alone. He was prone to getting in trouble when left alone for prolonged periods of time.
What you didn’t understand was why you were having a strategic meeting with this tribe about the dragon problem. Usually, you would go to wherever you were called to calm down the dragons, inspect the area for what is causing them to act out aggressively and proceed to lecture the villagers about what, why and how the problem occurred in the first place.
You have been here for what felt like hours listening to the chief go on and on about things you were far too bored and uninterested in to pay attention to. You were sure that you zoned out at some point, only coming back to reality after Hiccup had taken hold of your hand, tagging at it softly.
“So glad to see that you are back with us.” The sarcastic voice of the man sitting across from you rang in your ears. He was clearly displeased with your lack of attention.
“Yeah… um, my mind drifted for a moment. I apologise.” You said not really feeling apologetic, but trying to appease the man on the other side of the table nonetheless.
“It is alright.” His voice sounded rough and aged. “Not everyone can follow along with complex discussions.” He smiled condescendingly.
The bastard wasn’t even trying to be tactful with his remarks.
“Must be all the repetitions and dancing around the subject.” You said quickly, stopping Hiccup from answering.
Your hold on his hand tightened as he turned to look at you. He looked confused and a little concerned. Why were you stopping him? There was no reason to indulge this charade if this was how you were gonna be treated.
You ran your thumb across his arm soothingly, holding his gaze, looking calm, trying to show that it’s okay.
Hiccup’s lips pressed to a thin line, tightening his own hand around yours.
“Perhaps you lack your chief’s ability to comprehend difficult words.” The chief’s voice ruined the tender moment.
There was a meaning to be had here. Someone of your station shouldn’t be present in a meeting between chiefs. Other than the obvious insult to your intelligence. Again.
Oh, so that’s how he wants to play it. “Perhaps the problem is that, unlike my chief—” Gods, calling Hiccup by his title felt beyond wrong—“you lack the ability to be concise and to the point.”
Hiccup watched the exchange with his hand pinching the bridge of his nose. So much for diplomatic relations.
“Watch your words, little girl.” The chief raised his voice, getting up from his chair, wood scraping against wood from the force.
“Or what?” You get up, placing your hands on the table. Your eyes pinned on his, extending a challenge that, realistically speaking… you… would lose.
Hiccup let out a tiny groan as he also got up, placing a hand in front of each of you, trying to keep you both apart. “Aaaalright. I think we are getting way off subject. How about we take a break and get back after we all have—”
“You need to be more mindful of your people, Hiccup.” The chief turned his attention to Hiccup. “I can understand that love can make you want to be lenient, but even your loved ones are not above your rule.” He spoke with such conviction, like he was trying to teach and reprimand Hiccup at the same time. “You might be new to this, but you need to learn. Don’t insult your father’s legacy, boy.”
Your mouth dropped open. The entire hut fell silent for a second.
“I’m gonna wipe the floor with you. You sad old man.” You said as you moved to jump across the table towards certain death.
“NO!” Hiccup yelled quickly, wrapping his arms around your middle. “No, no, no, no.” He kept repeating as he tried to move towards him.
“Is this how you establish the law, boy? Get your girlfriend out of my face!” The chief yelled again. “And since she is so prone to acting wild, it is best to have her wait outside with the dragons.” He added, just as Hiccup had managed to get you away from the table and to his side.
“First of all.” Hiccup’s voice rose as well. “She is my wife.” He emphasised. “And let me be clear that in this situation, you are asking us for help. It would be best to remember that every indulgence and goodwill that has been extended towards you that has nothing to do with your dragon problem has been because of my wife.”
The chief was looking at Hiccup, surprised. You, on the other hand, felt rather smug about this particular turn of events.
“We have wasted enough time here. We will deal with the actual reason for our visit now.”
He was so hot like this… You are definitely fucking him once you are back on Berk.
…
Damn your brain does not know how timing works.
He moved to leave the hut, taking hold of your hand and leading you outside with him. You threw a pleased look at the chief as you moved and batted your eyes, letting the feeling of victory radiate from you and further the old man’s shock.
Hiccup kept walking after you were both outside, not slowing his pace or letting go of your hand. Once he deemed that good enough, he suddenly stopped and turned to face you.
He looked like he was about to say something, looking like a storm was held at the edge of his tongue. Instead, he just let out a deep exhale and let his head fall to your shoulder.
“I can’t believe you just did that.”
“Really? I thought I held back for quite a long time.” You said, running your fingers through his hair.
Hiccup let out a weak laugh, putting his hands around your waist. “Still though…”
“Still what? I think I did us both a favour. Now we can get on to doing what we actually came for and then go home.” You said feigning innocence.
“You will be the end of all of Berk’s diplomatic relations.” He mumbled, giving you a quick peck on the lips.
“Not all,” you said, giving him another kiss. “Just the annoying ones.”

wedding celebration ⋆ jacaerys velaryon
SUMMARY. You are the only Rhaenyra and Harwin’s daughter. Jacaerys is your older brother, but is engaged to Baela Targaryen and this is the celebration of their wedding announcement.
WARNINGS. +18. Targaryen incest, rude Jacaerys, AU (no Dance of the Dragons, Rhaenyra is the Queen of Seven Kingdoms.)
The engagement celebration was overwhelming and exhausting. The queen did not skimp on the grandeur of the event, a dinner full of variety and fresh delicacies, fruits, desserts, large platters of roasted meats that they tore to shreds leaving only the bones. All to celebrate in grand style the marriage of her first son with the first daughter of Daemon Targaryen and Laena Velaryon.
For you it was being a bore, sitting next to your young brother, Lucerys Velaryon, was talking with Rhaena Targaryen. Everyone was enjoying the dragon riders, while you just wanted to escape from the hall where the music, the shouting and the applause made it impossible to have a normal conversation. Sitting down you played with the food left on the plate, moving your fork side to side without purpose in that place, no one spoke to you, and when they did it was to talk about the couple of the moment. You were trying to get your mother's attention sitting next to Daemon, but she was too busy attending to everyone, always smiling and raising her glass to Jacaerys and Baela to look at her princess-daughter. On your other side, your little brother, Joffrey, was trying to convince you to dance a piece, but refused for shame of falling down in the attempt.
In silence watched Jacaerys laugh and whispering in his betrothed's ear. But when he looked at you you looked away immediately. Feeling your face hot with embarrassment at being discovered, but deep down you didn't mind being unwelcome.
A handsome knight of House Lannister approached the table you shared with your family to ask if you wished to dance with him. Distressed to answer, you looked at your mother pleading for help, but Rhaenyra forced you to stand up for the first time since the event began and do some socializing, something very difficult to do.
Was awkward throughout, he just showed your presence like a exotic Targaryen trophy and never looked you in the eye you felt like the song went on for hours. Went round and round, when he touched you a little rejection won over and you ended up taking a little step back. Your smell of alcohol gave you away as did your clumsy and uncoordinated movements. A few meters away, the heir Jacaerys noticed the situation always attentive if his sister needed help. He didn't like to see you with other men, they didn't know how to treat like a princess and that mess was further proof, he noticed you uncomfortable looking at the exit constantly touching your waist too long. The men took the opportunity to get close to your face, your beatiful and innocent face. Obviously Jace’s didn't listen what you were saying but from your facial expression he didn't need to know.
"Something wrong?" asked lady Baela noticing her fiancé was too distracted. Jacaerys immediately denied without arousing suspicion, but without ceasing to be attentive to the situation assuming that was just behaving like an older brother protecting his sister.
While you continued to dance the extensive choreography you exchanged glances with your older brother. None of you looked down, Jacaerys' tense jaw reflected the annoyance in his expression.
"You look especially beautiful this night, my princess," said the blond-haired gentleman, gaining your attention. "The red brings out your look."
Without realizing it, smiled. That was the first time anyone had complimented your dress that you designed, until the wine glass your escort was holding spilled on you when another gentleman accidentally pushed it over your body. You let out a small scream as felt the liquid on your skin, the fabric absorbed all the alcohol ruining the golden color of the embroidery.
"Fuck." Whispered truly sad looking at the mess you brought on yourself. You looked at the queen who stood attentive to you. Jacaerys stopped leaving Baela dancing alone by his side who in the happiness of her engagement was not attentive to her guests. "My dress…"
"Oh, no, my princess, I’m really sorry. I didn't mean to." Said the knight wiping a cloth across your torso, drying a few drops of pure wine.
"Don't touch me!" You exclaimed when his cold fingers brushed your naked chest, an unpleasant and invasive sensation. People turned at your shout and at all that attention you decide to ran, embarrading as fuck, finally escaping the room amidst malicious whispers that were sure to become controversial tomorrow.
Locked yourself in your room staring at the reflection of the stain I had left on you, cursing yourself for agreeing to leave your safe place in the chair next to the queen and now your favorite dress was ruined. Your fingertips had also turned crimson and you reeked of cheap alcohol. Not even a minute passed when there was a loud knock on your door, startling you by the unexpected. You approached taking a deep breath so as not to sound distressed or upset.
"I'm fine, mother. I'd rather stay and rest." Said, complimenting yourself for sounding so convincing. “I’m okay.” Oh, that’s a big lie.
"C’mon, sister. Let me through." Your heart beat with more force than normal when Jacaerys' voice was heard on the other side. With a little doubt about your actions decided to opened the door and your brother entered your quarters, which he knew by heart, and hurriedly closed the door before a guard discovered them. You didn't reach to say anything when he rushed to ask. "Did he do something to you?"
"What are you doing here, idiot? You're the fucking groom."
"Did that motherfucker touch you?" he kept asking, looking at you intently, scaring you in the deep. "Damn it. Answer me, did he dare offend you?"
"Balea must be worried about you, must go back quickly." You raised your sweet voice, annoyed by your brother's recklessness. "Her Majesty must be asking about you and I don't think Daemon would be amused if you left his daughter alone in the middle of the celebration."
"Let them ask whatever they want, you know I care little for them and they'll have a hard time finding me."
"Stop with the stupids lies, brother. You're the heir, all eyes are on you now until you die, it's natural that you care about your reputation." You said turning your back on him, weren't angry, just being realistic. Also didn't want him to look at you in that horrible dress full of alcohol. "Need to go back, Jace, your fiancée is probably looking for you around the castle and she's not going want to find you with me."
The prince's sigh of frustration filled the moonlit room.
"You think I want this for myself?" his question sent chills down your spine, Jacaerys' tone sounded hurt. "You must understand, sister, what it means the duty of our position."
Damn. That painful conversation again.
"Oh, Jace. You really want to talk about that shit right now?"
You heard his footsteps, the right thing to do was for him to leave you alone and leave like this, but his big hands came to rest on your shoulders. An intense sensation ran up your neck as Jace’s breath hit your cold and palid skin. His pointed nose touched your back awkwardly moving unsure of his decisions, then his hands shifted to your waist clinging tightly without letting go. You couldn't control yourself, Jacaerys was yours and hated to see him with another woman.
"Jace, n-no." Whispered in a soft voice with your eyes closed. You wanted to say with all your might that it wasn't right, but the warmth of his breath and his fingers touching your skin was so much better.
"Just shut up, can you do that?" He ordered plaintiff. "And don't call me a liar, that makes me mad, you know it."
Listening to him angry just fucking loved it, he was always so correct but when they were alone you couldn't control it.
You could fall into his arms easily if he wants, he had the demanding tone you need to hear all nights. Turned around looking for Jacaerys’s mouth desperate to kiss him, to reaffirm that he has been yours forever. His wet lips with yours knew each other perfectly, you were not new to this nor had you spoken of leaving him. The prince took your neck with his hand squeezing gently, but enough to know he didn't want you to move. His tongue entered in your mouth invading all the wet space, desperate for your gentle touch cupped your red cheek. You ran your hand through his long and curly hair, tangling your fingers in his perfect curls, pulling his body closer to yours.
"Want to do it now, sweet?" he growled between your half-open lips without letting go of your waist. You nodded without hesitation forgetting the fear of being discovered, you were so needy and only he could help you. "Gods, you're such a good sister."
Between wet kisses and ragged breaths they reached your bed which was perfectly tidy. His suit with the symbol of the House Targaryen stood out on his chest, Jacaerys sat on the edge waiting for you to sit over him so desesperaly, when you finally did he kissed your bare neck leaving some marks that he cared little if they showed later. Just wanted to mark all your body that no one would look at you, but the idea that you were desired by the all the knights in the real always liked because he could have you while the others only desired you.
"That idiot won't bother you again, did you hear me." He muttered with difficulty, but convinced to keep his word only for you. "Vermax will turn it to ashes."
You were so wet that you think any touch was going to make you scream in perfect orgasm. Jacaerys Velaryon, your older brother and the future king was your first man and you didn't want anyone to be the second. The first time, Jace was gentle and soft with you because he didn't want to hurt his little sister, but the more you repeated it, hidden from the eyes and ears of others, you experienced more things that pleased both. Your favorite place was the bed, you could do many things there and get into various positions that made feel more of him.
"We don't have much time, darling." Said the boy tucking a strand of your long hair behind your ear.
In a hurry and a little clumsy, you pulled up the long skirt of your fancy dress just enough to be exposed for your brother. None of you were naked, you could imagine that the celebration had not stopped in the absence of the prince nor yours. Jacaerys also settled down below you without taking his eyes off you at any fucking time, thinking that he did not want any maiden, however pure and elegant he doesn’t care a shit. That wasn't the first time time time had worked against time, the adrenaline rush was unique, like riding dragons. The sex with you felt much better though.
"Come here, sweet." Commanded with dilated pupils, tired and anxious from so much waiting to feel you. His hot member brushed against your wet entrance unleashing an intense sensation that made you moan but without opening your mouth. Jacaerys' hands slipped under your dress while you didn't let go of his shoulders so you wouldn't lose your balance, your knees bent on the mattress giving you comfort and the prince sitting under you, watching every expression in your pretty face. “You look so beatiful this night.”
"Don't have idea how much I was looking forward to having you again." Said panting, your skin beginning to flush from the heat emanating from your bodies. "Promise you won't leave me, Jace." You take his face in your little hands, desperate for the rubbing between your legs. "Get fucking married, I don’t care but keep coming back to me."
The moment he entered so slow and careful you let out a sweet moan that you tried to hide by covering your mouth biting your lip, Jacaerys threw his head back taking a moment to accommodate inside, you were so wet he slid in easily reaching your bottom in a matter of seconds. You squeezed his shoulder and he smiled when he heard you moan exactly like this.
"Look at me." He commanded taking in your hot face, you found it hard to concentrate feeling him so deep inside you, but looked into his dark eyes. "I will always come back to you."
And that was what you needed to hear.
You moved up and down slowly, the prince’s moans giving more pleasure from the movements and the feeling between your legs. Jacaerys closed his eyes tensing his jaw holding his cum so fast, you kissed him biting his thick lips at the same time moaning louder.
You were clothed but it felt so good to feel his hot member rubbing against your walls that you just wanted to increase the speed. Jace enjoyed feeling you all the time, with your hands he pulled down the front of your stained dress to let your breasts out. He took one between his big hands to squeeze it mercilessly, making you moan, you were very sensitive to any touch and your brother knows how to take to the climax.
"Jace." You gasped without stopping.
"Go on." He challenged you.
You listened to him, obviously. You were convinced that if at that moment Baela Targaryen entered you would not mind if the daughter of Daemon found you riding her future husband.
You felt him so hard and hot in you, watched him writhe with pleasure under your body, so you kept moving until couldn't hold back the urge to speak.
"Do you know what that man told me?" Asked pausing for a second, Jacaerys listen still inside you, you caressed his swollen lips. "If I married him I was never going to be short of a good fuck."
The prince's expression changed completely in a second, you knew what you had just done and you didn't regret it. Jace grabbed you by the waist and turned you over on the bed leaving you exposed to his desire and discomfort. He quickly pulled your dress up again entering you more anger, this time without softness or gentleness that characterized him, you screamed forgetting that you should keep quiet to guard his secret, but he grabbed you so tightly and kept moving behind you.
"You like it like this?" Asked agitated, moving back and forth constantly, you were clinging to the sheets. You nodded unable to modulate a statement. "No one can touch you. You’re so fucking mine." He kept up the accelerated. Stuck your cheek to the mattress in pain but the sensation in your belly was growing, the friction getting more and more delicious and rough, it was something new and you really liked. Your brother's hands marked on your soft skin, there was less time left to feel the orgasm. You wanted him to know what he was going to miss out on by marrying another woman.
"Jace-Jacaerys." Tried to speak. “Fuck, gods.”
"A little more, darling." He begged.
You couldn't stand the pressure growing under any longer, your legs faltered and your chest couldn't expand any more. You stood there for a few seconds recomposing yourself, trying to get the air back into your hot agitated lungs. Turned to look at him, Jace looked exhausted, his skin red, sweaty and curls in disarray. You had never felt his anger or jealousy over you before. Sat on the edge of the bed while he quietly adjusted his pants again. The prince looked his messy reflectoon at the mirror, adjusting the hair, his expensive suit, trying to conceal it.
You didn't know whether to speak or remain silent.
"I'll go back to the celebration." He said without looking at you. “I’m sorry for leave you.”
"It's okay." Whispered tidying the long skirt of the frayed dress. "I think so do I."
The prince turned with an expression of unpleasant surprise. "Are you serious, sister? After this?"
"Sure. I'm going to change this fucking dress first." You affirmed with an innocent smile. Your hair is messy too, with the lips swollen and wet were still warm. “Oh, I forgott. Congratulations for your wedding; brother."
Jacaerys grabbed your jaw hard stealing a long kiss that you didn't manage to escape. He looked at you disapprovingly. "You’re wicked."

PART 2: FLEETING. *ੈ✩‧₊˚
Ruffnut and Tuffnut—The embodiment of mischief and trouble. Whenever the Dragon Riders were assigned to doing tasks like fetching water, checking for intruders, scoping out other islands, the twins would either let the task be done by someone else from their circle, or completely stray away from the job at hand.
And they would always have some dumb reason to excuse themselves too; Spouting out that they were focused on a mission given by Loki, or they were blaming each other for distracting them, or they gave out some entirely odd reason that didn't make any sense at all.
Most of what they did and said didn't make a lot of sense, and the others knew that—either choosing to ignore their anecdotes and moving on, or insulting their intelligence, not that it affected them the slightest.
But this time, what they were reasoning for not scoping out their assigned islands properly was something to give attention to—because this was an entirely new reason.
They were currently reporting their findings of the islands near Berk; if anything had gone awry in the islands, such as migration or no sign of the assigned dragon on the island. With everyone finished with presenting what they had observed, the Dragon Academy they were in went silent, the friend group looking at the Thorston Twins until one of them spoke.
"Fireworm Island is fine, no changes there— well, from what we saw up top." Ruffnut nonchalantly reported, her arms crossed with her brother leaning onto their Hideous Zippleback.
"Up top?" Hiccup questioned, his eyebrows furrowed, the hand that he used to pet Toothless halting in curiosity, the Nightfury taking the chance to walk away and play with the Gronckle and Deadly Nadder that were behind them.
"Yeah, we were trying to fly back down, until we saw what was literally the coolest thing to ever see again that we had to follow it," Tuffnut boasted, his hands gesturing largely and exaggeratedly to create suspense, his sister nodding eagerly in agreement, looking at him and back at them.
They had that glint in their eyes that told the others that this was going to be another long-winded goose-chase of a reason.
Assuming they knew where this was going, their bodies went slack, with Astrid rolling her eyes with her arms crossed, Fishlegs shaking his head in disapproval with a hand on his forehead, and Snotlout following suit and groaning. All of it made Hiccup also let out a sign of boredom, breathing out a deep sigh and crossing his arms.
"Oh, here we go again," Snotlout muttered, his hands on each respective hip, his posture tilted to put weight on one foot.
Waiting for Tuffnut's answer, they never expected it would be actually a fair reason—maybe more than fair, dire actually.
"Wait for it. . . The Screaming Death!" His arms went up and tried to scare the others, but their minds stood to attention instead.
"Screaming. . . Death?" Fishlegs squeaked out, his posture going scared.
"It's back?" Astrid dropped her arms to her sides, taking a step closer, her face contorting into horror and concern.
"Why is it when something chaotic happens, it's always you two?" Snotlout chided, but his worried expression gave him away.
Hiccup's lips parted with his eyes narrow, and let a hand out to gesture to Ruffnut and Tuffnut.
"Are you sure you saw it?" The brunet Viking clarified in unease.
"As clear as when I accidentally saw Gobber use the outhouse—" Tuffnut said with a straight face, his hand going to his heart to swear his honesty, before getting cut off.
"Okay— okay, we get it—" Astrid stepped in to stop him from saying anything else.
"So, where did it go? Did it go to the other islands?" The blonde queried, her arms going cross as a means to comfort herself.
"Well, other than stopping to pick up a few herbs and flowers in Shivering Shores, it went back to the direction of Screaming Death Island." Ruffnut shrugged.
They all let out a breath they didn't know they were holding in, but it seemed too early to feel relieved with Tuffnut's next statement.
"But it's rider saw us when it turned around and spotted Ruffnut's big head, then it flew away." He pointed to her, earning him a hit to the head with her sister's Viking helmet.
"Ouch." The blond Viking whined, rubbing the back of his head.
"Wait, dragon rider?" Fishlegs asked, startled.
"Did you not hear what he just said?" Ruffnut's voice had pried at him, her voice full of annoyance.
"Well," Astrid put herself in thought as she asked the next question.
"What do we do?" She looked at everyone, before looking at Hiccup last.
There was a moment of respite, until one of them spoke.
"I think we should leave them alone guys," Fishlegs recommended, clearly wanting this conversation to end.
"And risk another Screaming Death invasion here on Berk? No way," Snotlout scolded, not wanting to take another chance of getting their village eradicated.
"It's not like we could get rid of the rider guys—" Astrid tried to reason, but the Twins, who were the most unreasonable, had interrupted her.
"No, we could." Tuffnut, who looked to be in thought, nodded in agreement to his answer, slightly shrugging.
"Should we do it executioner style or. . .?" Ruffnut commented while grinning, liking where the conversation was headed.
"No one's executing anyone." Astrid butted in, tired of their antics. She had glared at them, before turning to her side.
"Hiccup?" She wanted to hear his opinion on what to do. He was arguably the most level-headed person when it came to situations like this—probably why he was always the lead person to direct them when it came down to the wire—and she knew he would say the most adequate option in their current predicament.
He was deep in thought, his eyebrows furrowed before looking up to look at her and the others.
"I think. . . We should scope out Screaming Death Island." He finally concluded, his tone sure.
"This is just crazy. . . Are you mad?!" Snotlout mumbled the first sentence under his breath before lashing out at Hiccup.
"Hey, cut it out." She told Snotlout. She understood why he was furious, but this wasn't the time to lose yourself to rage.
"But seriously Hiccup, this. . . Doesn't seem like a good idea," The blonde Viking shrugged, her tone uncertain.
"I know, but," He looked down, trying to find the right words to articulate himself.
"We have to check if they're really doing something evil with the Screaming Death before we do something drastic," He reasoned, with the others understanding.
"Besides, if anything happens, you're with your dragon." Hiccup finished, they looked reluctant, but they understood that this was the only way to make sure she wasn't a threat.
And as safety precaution, if something bad were to occur, all six of them were there to protect one another. He looked at all of them, and nodded, concluding this meeting finished.
They all scurried out the Dragon Academy with their dragons, preparing themselves to go to the titular 'Screaming Death Island'.
Hiccup was walking out with Toothless behind him. A warble the dragon let out made him look over his shoulder to look at the Nightfury, which made him more relaxed.
He had his friends, their dragons, and Toothless on Screaming Death Island. It seemed like a safe bet.
What could possibly go wrong?
Surprisingly, not a lot actually.
From the start, the trip to Screaming Death Island wasn't a breeze. They had seen the identifiable albino dragon from afar, flying around the nearby sea stacks. It was hard trying to get a good view of it when it was flying that sporadically, but they confirmed that there was someone riding it.
Toothless growled at the titular dragon from afar, they weren't that far, but they were behind it so it wouldn't be able to detect them.
The Screaming Death didn't sense them, but its rider did.
Feeling as if multiple eyes were on the duo, the rogue rider turned around, and it saw the group of dragon riders, and looked to the middle of it where Hiccup was, and narrowing their eyes. They were in a hood, with a shawl covering the bottom part of their face.
Their eyes met for only a brief moment, but Hiccup felt exhilarated.
As soon as the dragon rider saw them, it turned back to its dragon and bolted off to the island.
"Well, what do we do now?" Fishlegs asked.
"We follow them. Let's split up to cover more ground. But remember gang—no fighting, got it?" Hiccup ordered.
"Yeah, yeah— whatever. C'mon Hookfa—" Snotlout jeered, but before he could finish, his Monstrous Nightmare flew off quickly, a startled echo of a scream following suit.
The others flew off in different directions to the dragon's sanctuary, with Astrid being last to go, wanting to say something before she also left.
"Y'know, they always break that rule, right?" She asked in deadpan.
He sighed, then answered the girl. "Yeah, but. . . Let's just hope this doesn't end up with another island sinking into itself."
They both went their separate ways, with Hiccup and Toothless flying through the inside of the dark burrowed holes into one of the mountains.
If the Nightfury didn't have echo location, he was sure that they'd be lost by now.
They had seen a light source at the end of one of the tunnels, with Hiccup directing Toothless to be careful now.
"Let's slow down, bud." He rubbed the side of Toothless head, with the dragon understanding.
The dragon's flying subsided, opting for walking with delicacy, as if anything would trigger something chaotic.
They had reached the end, walking into a lit-up space of the tunnel, with multiple large holes, with torches and random equipment strewn about. There was a crackling fire in the middle of the cave, logs burning over each other surrounded by rocks, with books haphazardly near it.
He got down from Toothless, stepping over to look at them more clearly, picking two of them up.
"'Herbalist's Guide to Fungi and Fauna'. Huh." Hiccup read aloud, his voice laced with suspicion.
Looking at another book next to it, he read the cover.
"'The Herbal Dispensatory: Remedies and Cures'. . . Why would they have this, bud?" He asked rhetorically to his dragon. These were all books that would belong to a healer like Gothi back at Berk, so why was the rogue rider reading these?
He was confused, looking at Toothless for help, but the Nightfury just looked back at its rider, perplexed.
But they didn't have time to ponder more, when they had heard something growl, and slight hissing from one of the tunnels. The hole was pitch black, staring back at them, meaning what would have been growling would have to be close to them to see what it was—and it made Hiccup's hair stand on the back of his neck.
Hiccup dropped the books down and backed away, preparing himself to see the Screaming Death, with Toothless' eyes narrowing. But as the sound got closer, the mystery dragon had made its way into the light.
The brunet Viking had dropped his shoulders in relief, with Toothless going docile. It was Groundsplitter, the mother of the Screaming Death.
It flew into the large cave and recognized the two, with Hiccup noticing a few nuances from the dragon. Its flying seemed more labored, and the original scale color of the Whispering Death wasn't its natural steel green, but quite paler.
Without another second to process, the large dragon plopped down on its chin, seemingly from exhaustion. It let out a pained roar toward them, with its white eyes slightly closing.
Hiccup and Toothless walked near it with caution, while the Whispering Death didn't give a notice it was aggressive towards them.
Hiccup laid out a hesitant hand on its head, stroking it in comfort. His face shifted from cautious to concerned, genuinely confused on what happened to it. Toothless seemed to sense that they were weak, letting out a small warble.
"What happened to you, girl?" He asked in worry at the feeble dragon, only getting a weak grumble from it.
He was looking all over the Whispering Death, checking for an injury of some sort, but he was cut short when an unfamiliar female voice interrupted him.
"Step away from the dragon." The girl had revealed herself from one of the shadows of the tunnels, with the Screaming Death in tow, barely able to keep its hostility quelled. She had her bow in one hand, already grabbing an arrow from the quiver, clad on her hips.
"Woah there! just calm down, we're not here to hurt it—" Hiccup stepped away from Groundsplitter, with Toothless now going growling, his teeth bared and ready to pounce.
"That's what they all say," The masked rider said, her tone on edge, loading the string of her bow and drawing, aiming at them menacingly.
Even with only her eyes being the only part of her face he could see, Hiccup could feel her fury. She walked in front of the Whispering Death as if to protect it, while the Screaming Death seemingly ready to attack.
"Wait, really. . .! We aren't here to hurt any of you," Hiccup held a hand up to show surrender, but the Screaming Death thought otherwise, letting out a combatant snarl, but before the albino dragon had made an action, its mother—with all its strength roared, an action to stop its child.
The rogue dragon rider looked back and forth at the Whispering Death and the Screaming Death, then to the duo in confusion. The grip of the draw on her bow had started to falter, her actions showing uncertain.
"Who are you?" The girl tilted her head slightly, her voice still cautious, yet curious. She had now noticed the dragon next to him.
"How about you aim the bow away from my face, and then I'll tell you?"
After the previous. . . almost altercation between the two, the conversation seemed to mellow out.
After introducing himself and the girl doing it back, Hiccup learned that not all rogue dragon riders weren't all gung-ho about causing evil and spreading havoc, since the girl in front of him that was just listening calmly to him explain why he was here and why the Whispering Death knew them.
The brunet Viking was talking while the girl sat in front of him was grabbing various things out of her satchel and onto the rough, rocky floor.
He finished talking about how they saved the Whispering Death from the Berserkers and the Outcasts, his shoulders still doing the thing where he talks expressively.
"And after that, they just stayed here. Luckily, Groundsplitter remembers us, but the Screaming Death doesn't," He finished.
"Groundsplitter?" She looked up at the boy sitting across from him.
"The Whispering Death— I uh— I mean." He corrected himself. Hiccup really felt like he was just spewing dumb things out of his mouth—because whenever he was storytelling, the girl would always look at him weird, especially when he was talking about dragons.
Yes, his story did sound very unrealistic—defeating the literal queen of dragons and losing his foot in the process—but not to the point where someone would furrow their brows in confusion all the time.
"Oh, okay. . ." She answered plainly and continued her actions, with Hiccup pausing to look at what she was doing.
She put a multitude of flowers and mushrooms in a wood bowl and started crushing it with a nearby rock. She paused, looking up at him, who seemed to be in a trance.
"What are you doing?" The brunet Viking was curious, wanting to finally find out what she was doing.
"This?" She nodded to the now pulverised fauna in the bowl, with Hiccup nodding. The hooded girl was hesitant to tell the strange boy, but it wouldn't hurt for him to know.
". . . I'm trying to make a cure,"
"A cure? A cure for what?" He clarified, his confusion now more prominent.
"For that dragon." She pointed behind her, right at the Whispering Death, who was right now resting next to its child, the Screaming Death.
"I don't know what happened to her, but I'm indebted to her that I have to find a cure." She said with determination, her gaze focused on pounding the rock into the already ground ingredients in the bowl.
"You're indebted to her. . .?" Hiccup's voice tip-toed the line of being curious and sounding like he was sarcastic, but that was really just how his voice sounded. Thankfully, the masked rider did not take notice, just continuing her dialogue.
"When I was exiled by my tribe for not being able to kill a dragon, they sent me off by a boat and didn't think anything of it—just giving me some food, and those books you saw to survive. Great hospitality, huh?" She told him, with Hiccup's eyes narrowing in understanding, but he was still startled. She was talking about being banished by her own people and being sent off all alone just like it was simple conversation.
"My boat went onshore here, and before I knew it—some random Viking's were actually following me with another boat. . . Talking nonsense about where the 'Dragon Riders' were hiding. It was quite off-kilter, I'd say," She went on.
Hiccup was nodding to her story in interest, but he perked up when he heard the word 'Dragon Riders'. He was almost 100% certain those Vikings were talking about him and his friends.
"They were about to kidnap me to interrogate me even more, but the ground beneath us started rumbling. Then before I knew it, she flew out of the ground, eating one of them." You laughed at the memory, with Hiccup still nodding but his eyebrows furrowing in concern at how you could laugh at something like that, but he wrote it off.
"After seeing one of their men get chewed up by her, they retreated. I thought I was the one next on the chopping block, but when she looked at me," Your movements faltered, slowing down.
"I saw her eyes. She looked terrifying, yeah—but her eyes said otherwise. She was friendly, understanding, it knew I wasn't trying to invade the island or kill her, she was just protecting her territory. Dragons are smarter than most Vikings think, y'know?" Her movements now were normal paced, now finishing what she was crushing, now finely granulated.
She put the rock down and stood up, continuing her story.
"Maybe it was because she felt my fear, how scared I was, I don't even know anymore— But she lowered her head, and I put my palm on her. After that she dug back down." She was now walking near the Whispering Death, with Hiccup following the girl, standing up and cautiously walking over, wary of the Screaming Death next to it.
"I lived near the shore for a while, until she came back for me. I saw her like this now; all frail and labored. I knew she needed my help, just like I needed hers. So here I am," She patted the side of the Whispering Death, signaling to open its mouth.
When it did, the hooded girl poured the contents of the bowl into the dragon's maw, closing to swallow the mix of ingredients.
"I'm pretty sure she noticed me trying to help her mother, so it lowered its head to me too." She gestured next to the steel-green dragon, pointing lazily to the albino reptile.
She stepped closer next to the Screaming Death, then stroking its crown, earning a satisfied purr from the dragon.
She stopped talking, seemingly focused on the action. Hiccup couldn't see it, but the girl was gently smiling at the duo of dragons.
"So that's why. . ." Hiccup trailed off, unsure whether to ask what he wanted to ask.
"Yeah? What did you think I was doing?" The girl pried, looking over her shoulder at the boy.
"No— It's just," He put his hands up and shook them in surrender, wanting to express his sorry.
The girl turned her body to the boy, her arms crossing, waiting for his answer.
He sighed in relief, knowing that this was all some big misunderstanding. The sole purpose of you riding the albino reptile was so you could find fauna to use to cure the Whispering Death.
"My friends saw you riding the Screaming Death, we thought you were controlling it for. . . Let's just say for a lack of better word 'malicious' intent." He shrugged. You reasoned, your head tilting to nod in understanding where he was coming from.
"We followed you to see if you were going to do anything bad, but here you were, just trying to find ingredients to help Groundsplitter!" He gestured to your frame.
"This is just great. . . Oh, I need to tell the gang quick," He remembered that this was still a mission with his friends to scope out the island.
"There are others here?" You said with an edge, standing to attention when he implied there were other Vikings.
"Yeah, but I just need to tell them you mean no harm, it'll be fine. . . At least I think so," Hiccup said, his voice laced with uncertainty, with a tinge of coyness that made you grin under your shawl.
"I think you should come with me." He stepped closer to you.
"Excuse me?"
"I don't think they'll believe me if I just say it, especially Snotlout," He sighed and shook his head, thinking of what obscenities his sable-haired cousin would say if he did just report the girl meant no harm and they'd leave her alone.
"And how do I know you're not leading me into a trap?" The girl was still suspicious, but she was sure that this boy didn't mean no harm.
"Because," He walked over to the other side of the cave where his trusty dragon was laying, before turning his head to look over his shoulder.
"You'll be riding the Screaming Death."
Hiccup and the hooded rider flew out of the tunnels, with the boy trying to make small conversation with the girl.
"Random question: do you always cover your face?" He shouted behind him, with the girl on her dragon following the duo.
"Not always, when I'm outside, sometimes I do," You replied, turning a sharp right, both dragons easily maneuvering themselves in the pitch-black tunnels.
"How about when meeting my friends?" He asked in curiosity, he was sure that most of his friends felt less danger if they could finally pin point a face to the dragon rider.
"They're still strangers to me, are they not?"
"I guess so? Then, what's your answer?" They were nearing the end, the light at the end of the tunnel finally getting brighter.
"When meeting strangers like you, yes!" You yelled back, your voice laced with a taunt.
"Ouch, fair play," He hollered, with the girl growing a grin at his sillhouette in the dark tunnels.
They had made it out of the tunnels, the blinding light hitting both of their eyes, giving each other a few seconds to readjust from the sudden amount of light hitting them.
"Let's get onto shore, that way it's easier for me for Toothless to signal the other dragons to come." He looked at the girl who nodded in agreement.
Making it down, the dragons were stationary by the beach covered with holes.
"So, how are you going to—" You turned to ask, yet you were interrupted.
Toothless cut you off, it's roaring call reaching your ears, squinting your eyes slightly in surprise. It wasn't that loud compared to what you hear with the Screaming Death, but it still startled you.
Toothless finished his blaring alarm of a roar, with Hiccup looking at you smugly, as if he knew what you were going to ask.
"That's how we're going to call them." He said with a grin, and you couldn't help but roll your eyes playfully.
"Show off. . ." You mumbled under your breath, looking down.
"I'm sorry, what was that?" He heard you loud and clear, but he found himself happier that you were starting to get comfortable with him that you made quips like this now.
"Nothing," You quickly dismissed, looking at the other direction.
Hiccup only met you for only a short respite, but it felt like you and him were starting to click together quite easily. He felt like his chest was getting warm. Odd.
As if to help you move on from the subject, multiple dragons had made its way from the sky in vicinity to Hiccup and you. You were never taught the names of or classes of dragons, just the phrase 'kill on sight', so this was new—seeing multiple types of unknown dragons at the same time.
They were about to fly down, but they had noticed the ever-noticeable Screaming Death right next to their friend.
"Uh. . . Hiccup? I don't mean to point out the obvious, but are you not next to what we're trying to look for?" Fishlegs shyly asked, his hold steady on Meatlug's ears.
"Yeah, I mean, Ruffnut could've noticed that," Tuffnut added, with him earning another hit to his helmet by his twin sister.
"Ow, stop hitting me! Hit Snotlout for a change at least," He rubbed his head, his voice irritated yet unfazed at the same time.
"Okay, why am I being dragged into this?" He wailed in annoyance at The Twins from his place on his Monstrous Nightmare.
"Because I need a break from getting hit on the head, and you—my dear friend—have a very hittable head," Tuffnut explained a way someone academically inclined would propose their research on something.
"Y'know, Tuff—for once I agree with you." Astrid smirked, looking to the dark-haired Viking who seemed like he was going to blow steam out of his ears about now.
"Why not Fishlegs?" Snotlout complained.
"Because I don't know where his neck and his head starts!" Ruffnut reasoned, almost complaining like the dark-haired Viking.
"Hey!" Fishlegs now felt like talking, wanting to defend himself.
What now was supposed to be a formal conversation turned into full on back and forth bickering, with the duo on ground with their dragons watching this all unfold—Hiccup putting a hand on his forehead in disappointment, while you look at them in amusement.
"Are they. . . Always like this?" You queried, a genuine smile that reached your eyes, tearing your eyes away from the fight to look at Hiccup, who looked bummed out.
"No, well— yes, but— not like, not like this—" He sputtered. Hiccup tore his hand away from his face to gesture what now was The Twins trying to attack Snotlout from their respective flying reptiles, a multitude of green gas sparking up into clouds of fire, ablaze.
"In front of new people. . . Well, Ruff and Tuff you could make an exception— anyway, let me just settle this down, okay?" He looked at her eyes and they met, he saw the way her eyes crinkled, how she was genuinely entertained by it, and a weight seemed to fall off his shoulder.
Hiccup was a humble person—he wasn't a flashy Viking. He wasn't the type of show off in front of others and wasn't the type of person who wanted to.
He also wasn't someone that didn't go out of his way to impress or show a different manner to people, but maybe because of the situation at hand—with a rogue dragon tamer, who rode a literal Screaming Death, no less—he felt quite clammy knowing this was her first impression of them.
Hiccup had somehow made the riders fly down on their level on shore, with you surveying each one—the latter doing it right back at you, with Hiccup butting in to speak.
He introduced your name to them, and explained that you weren't a threat, just helping the Whispering Death.
But even with that clarification coming from Hiccup, the Dragon Riders were still on edge, as if you'd betray them immediately.
"How do we know you're not going to immediately kill us and invade Berk after we leave?" Tuffnut's voice was laced in suspicion with a hand on his chin. His statements were quite farfetched, but they weren't taking any chances.
"Yeah, and what if you're actually Dagur's spy, here to assassinate us?" Astrid crossed her arms, her narrow eyes piercing yours.
"I thought Dagur was cool with us now?" Fishlegs asked.
"Well, they don't call him 'Dagur the Deranged' for nothing," Snotlout jested, shrugging.
You weren't nervous, but you felt pressured with all of their interrogative queries. You sighed and put a hand up in surrender.
"Okay, can I speak now?" You rubbed the back of your neck in boredom, the riders pausing their conversation to give you the floor.
"So, first of all: I'm not going to eradicate all of you and invade. . . Whatever your island is called," You put up one finger as a start to your list, dismissing whatever nonsense the man riding the dual-headed reptile—or was it a woman? You couldn't really tell.
"If I wanted to destroy all of you and your home, I would've already done it," You threatened nonchalantly, but this just made the Dragon Riders hair on the back of their neck stand.
"Anyway, second: I'm not a spy.I wouldn't have to be an exile then. . ." You mumbled the last part, not letting it reach their ears.
"And I don't even have a single clue who this. . ." You raised a second finger, furrowed your brows trying to remember what they called the man.
"'Dagur' fellow is, is he famous?" You asked, not really expecting an answer.
But before you could continue, Snotlout interrupted you.
"You don't know who Dagur is?" The boy butted in, asking in genuine curiosity, which you replied with a deadpan shake of your head.
"'Dagur the Deranged'? Crazy guy with red hair and scratch tattoos on his eye? High Chief of the Berserker Tribe? Those don't ring a bell?" Snotlout kept adding more attributes to maybe make you recognize the man, but you were genuinely apathetic, an expressionless furrow of your brows only showing your feelings.
"Killed his father to become Chief?" Fishlegs tried to help by adding more description to the man, but you were tired already of getting information about a man you were sure you'd never meet.
". . . Okay, I think if I wasn't exiled from my tribe, I would probably know who he is," You raised both your shoulders, closing your eyes in indifference.
"Woah, you were exiled?" Astrid asked, surprised at the twist of events that the conversation came to.
"Awesome, what happened?" Ruffnut leaned in from her dragon, amused.
"Well, y'know—Vikings cutting off loose slack from their village is pretty common in my tribe, so when I chose not to kill dragons, they assumed I had already picked a side." You sniffed, fiddling with your fingers. Yes, you told your story with an air of comfortability, but remembering it still made you all clammy.
"Anyway, long story short: I was exiled, they sent me off with a boat where I crashed here, then this girl's mother," You pet the head of the albino reptile you were riding, its ruby eyes closing in comfort.
The Dragon Riders found the interaction weird—the large, scary, titan of a Screaming Death that almost made Berk sink into itself was acting like a docile pet, it was oddly adorable.
"Saved me from a bunch of Vikings trying to find the 'Dragon Riders'. Safe to say, if I wasn't saved by her mother, I'd be dead meat already," You finished your story, looking at each of their faces.
"I'm pretty sure you guys are those 'Dragon Riders', right?" You pointed to all of them, clarifying what you already assumed.
"I think so, there really isn't anybody else that would fit that description," He shrugged, humbly bragging.
"But why would they be following you at Screaming Death Island?" Hiccup asked, turning his face to you, visibly perplexed.
"I dunno, maybe because it's one of the islands near Berk and thought she was one of us?" Snotlout stated, as if it was obvious knowledge, which Hiccup deadpanned at his cousin.
"Anyway—am I cleared from your suspicions?" She looked back at all of them, the Dragon Riders seemingly in thought, until Tuffnut spoke up.
"Hmm. . . No," He concluded.
"And why is that?" You gritted your teeth and crossed your arms, slightly irritated.
"Because—rogue dragon rider—I haven't seen your whole face yet, especially your nose." He pointed, gesturing your whole face then your nose.
"Don't you know the nose is the window to the soul?" He asked rhetorically.
"I'm pretty sure it's the eyes that are the window to the soul," Fishlegs corrected, but he was waved off by Tuffnut's twin sister.
"Uhhh, no? If it's the eyes, where's the opening for you to see the soul?" She said in an obvious voice, as if she were talking to someone who couldn't quite comprehend properly.
Not wanting the dialogue to stray off the path again, you cut them off, starting to unwrap your shawl.
"Okay, how about I just take it off and you guys stop talking?" You unceremoniously take your hood off, making sure to take your time, and pull down your shawl that was covering the bottom half of your face.
They were all watching intensely, and when you tugged the mask down, Hiccup was awe-struck. You were beautiful, and just like the stars in the sky staring at the moon in admiration, Hiccup stared at you, all marveled gracing his face.
You were immensely pretty, and you were hiding it all from his eyes under that hood? Oh, you were killing him.
"There, happy now?" You looked at them, which were all looking at you like you were the most alluring thing they've seen all day.
"Oh, more than happy, beautiful," Snotlout adjusted his hair, complimenting you in a voice that sounded an octave deeper than his actual voice, an uncharming smile hitting your eyes.
"Might I just say, you look abysmal," Tuffnut praised, trying to smile in a way that looked like he was trying to smolder, which just made his sister faux gag.
But you smiled at the affection, humbly accepting it and laughing at Tuffnut's compliment. Abysmal meant something completely different, but you understood his attempt at flattering you.
"I'm pretty sure you meant something else, but thanks— both of you," You giggled, and glanced at Hiccup for a second, your attention sticking to him only for a moment, but lasting forever in his mind.
He shook his head to take him back to reality.
"So," He caught the other's focus, now listening to their head.
"I was actually thinking of us helping heal Groundsplitter," He further explicated what he meant.
"Oh, you don't. . . Have to do that," Your surprised voice and face faltered, still uneasy about a lot of Vikings helping you.
"Well, we'll just be gathering the ingredients and bringing them back to you, so it isn't much," He hit you with a humble smile, which made you follow his expression, a smile growing upon you.
"Uh? Hello. . .? We're still here y'know? Don't you have to ask us if we're also okay with it?" Snotlout sneered, annoyed already. You noticed that he seemed to be easily wound up at small things, and it made you snicker in delight.
"Okay. . . All in favor of helping Groundsplitter recover, raise your hand." He announced, with everyone except his cousin not raising his arm.
"Whatever. . . I was just checking the statistics," He mumbled, crossing his arms.
"Well, when do we start?" Astrid butted in, wanting to get the job under way already.
"Actually, I was thinking of maybe doing some friendship exercises with our dragons and your. . ." Hiccup looked to you, trailing off to hear what you named the Screaming Death.
Noticing his face skim yours, you immediately perk up, remembering you were still part of the conversation.
"Oh, I don't really plan on being with her long, so I didn't name her," You replied curtly, shrugging.
"Also, why do we need to do these. . ." You gestured to your dragon and the others.
"'Friendship exercises'?" Your fingers curling at each word emphasize your confusion
"Because it's pretty clear that they're still wary of her," Hiccup gestured to the other dragons, and you noticed their expressions. They looked on edge being in near vicinity of the Screaming Death, with their narrowed eyes, filled with tension thicker than anything.
All the while, the Screaming Death seemed to pay no attention to it.
"Well then what do we do?" You looked back at Hiccup, who seemed to have an idea up his sleeve.
"I have an idea or two," He said, smiling cheekily.
"When you said you had a great idea, I thought it would be something cooler," You replied, slight boredom lacing your voice, your arm stood on your thigh, your hand cupping your cheek.
"I didn't say I had a great idea, I just said I had one." He replied cheekily next to you.
"But the way you said it implied that it was something great, not. . ." You tried finding a way to say what you wanted in a polite manner.
"Babysitting them until they're all buddy-buddy with each other."
That was, for a lack of better word, what you were doing. Hiccup had decided that taking a step back and letting the dragons be comfortable with each other on their own would be better for them to create trust with the Screaming Death.
It seemed to work, with the Screaming Death interacting warily but with curious interest to the other dragons. It was a nice stepping stone to becoming friends, but Gods, was it immensely boring babysitting them.
"We're not babysitting them, we're watching over them, so they don't do anything bad, like accidentally eat each other," Hiccup corrected you.
"Still called babysitting," You added.
He sighed in defeat, just continuing to watch the various types of dragons. You both were still on Screaming Death Island, with the others leaving their dragons to both of you while they do their own thing—most of them exploring the deep tunnels made by the Whispering Death and its child—while you two were on babysitting duty.
It wasn't all that bad—you both were sharing a flat rock to sit on, and it was not a big sitting rock, just enough for two people to sit on with small distance from one another, barely touching shoulders.
Suddenly, Hiccup pulled out a book, a small one, but one large enough to keep notes, most likely his personal journal.
He opened it, flipping through the pages. It was wide open, so you couldn't help but take a glance.
You saw the multiple sketches, the multitude of notes and trivia he wrote about them—and most importantly, their names.
Monstrous Nightmare, Hideous Zippleback, Deadly Nadder— What are these names? You thought.
"They have names?" You meekly asked, slightly hesitant, but he paused his actions and looked at you with a polite confused manner. You were still focused on the writings he had on his journal.
"Oh, yeah. . . Did they not teach you that in your tribe?" He asked cautiously. He noticed the way you were playing with your fingers as a calming habit when you explained you story to his friends, understanding that it was still a touchy subject for you.
"No, they said it wasn't important, all we been thought is they were extremely dangerous and to—" You didn't
"Kill on sight," He finished for you, and you finally looked at him, your eyes meeting each other. You were really close. You noticed the way his eyes crinkled, and how his smile complimented his face. You even noticed the slight scratch on his chin, which seemed quite odd, but you found it quite charming.
Charming?
"They used to uh— tell us that too," Hiccup tore his eyes away every now and then, quite nervous from how long you were looking at him.
"And they didn't have names back then?" You queried, leaning in slightly.
"No, they did." Hiccup uttered, fiddling with a corner of a page.
"Do you. . . Want me to teach you, their names I mean. . .?" He hesitantly asked. Hiccup already knew you'd say yes, but there was a sliver of a chance you'd shy away, and he didn't want that.
"Yeah, if you could. . ." You muttered, smiling then looking at his book so he could start.
"Oh. . .! Okay, so I don't have all of them right now, but I think we could start with," He fanned through the pages, until he reached a page on a small-looking dragon.
"This one." He placed the book on his knees so that the pages would be flatter, which in turn made you scoot closer to have a closer look, now shoulder-to-shoulder with the boy.
"Terrible Terror. . .?" You leaned in to read, and hesitantly said what was the title of the page, trying it out and how it sounded on your tongue. You looked up to meet his eyes, wanting to see if you said it right.
You didn't have a sliver of a thought about it, but Hiccup was slightly overwhelmed.
The captivating, incalculable girl—who he also thought was cute— was practically all over his senses. You were touching him—the two of you shoulder-to-shoulder, he could smell the scented wildflowers you used in the mixture you gave to the Whispering Death earlier, your saccharine voice filling his ears, and how your eyes were searching for confirmation in his gaze.
You were flooding Hiccup's everything, practically getting sensory overload from how close he could feel all of you. He barely even remembered he was going to make you learn the dragon names.
"Uh— yeah, that's right— that is correct," He sputtered, but you didn't even notice, just proud of yourself for getting it right.
"They're. . . Kinda small, why is that?" You commented, reading the height measurements on the journal.
"I. . . Huh, actually, I don't know either," He smiled, surprised you asked something he wouldn't know about dragons.
"I thought you knew everything about dragons." You taunted, looking up at him.
"Ask me another question about it, and I'll have the answer."
And that's how the conversation flowed—you asking questions about numerous dragons, and Hiccup effortlessly answering them. With that, you got more comfortable with each other. You didn't even notice how close you were with one another until now, and as much as you shouldn't, you felt something flutter in your chest—just like a dozen Terrible Terrors flying about in you.
But you didn't mind.
And little did you know, he didn't also.
BONUS ✮⋆˙
Looking at the duo from afar while leaning on a rock, Astrid smiled. She was happy Hiccup was starting to be close with someone else other than their friend group.
She was quietly people watching them, until she was rudely startled.
"What are we looking at?" Tuff suddenly said from behind her near her ear, which made Astrid grab his shirt and throw him to the ground out of instinct.
"Uff. . ." Tuffnut groaned.
"Oh, they look pretty nice together," Ruffnut commented, walking up to his brother who walked up to the blonde Viking faster.
"Ahh, young love," Fishlegs gushed and suddenly popped up, with him clasping his hands near his face endearingly, as if he were some old, wise man.
"He's so annoying, first Astrid— now the cool dragon tamer girl," Snotlout grumbled, with Astrid rolling her eyes, her arms crossing.
They were all now looking at the boy and girl sitting on a rock, with Ruff noticing that Snotlout didn't list her.
"Hey, what about me?" She asked in an upset manner to the dark-haired Viking.
"Eh. . ." Was all Snotlout could say, earning him a hard hit to the helmet that still clanged to his head from the Thorston girl.
"Ow." He rubbed the back of his helmet, annoyed.
"Huh, he really does have a hittable head," She mused, looking at Astrid.
"See? What did I tell you," Tuffnut said, still laying down.
"Really? Let me try," Astrid rotated her wrist to warm her fist up, with Snotlout stopping her with his screeching voice.
"No one is hitting my head!"

He couldn’t believe it, refused to believe it.
You were his, everyone knew it, and yet here the servants were, gossiping about your recent proposal to some lowly lord.
You, a princess, a dragon rider and the other half of Jace’s soul, was to be married to some lord from a place he had never even hear of!
Blind rage filled him, as he stalked out of where he sat in the library and towards the gossiping maids.
Slamming his fist on the table, he drew their attention. “What are these lies you speak of!?” he demanded, his tone dripping with anger.
“The princess” one spoke, swallowing roughly as nerves filled her “They say she is to be betrothed to Lord Oakheart”
“oh?” he hissed, voice dripping with venom, “stop with these vile rumours, the princess is to marry me” he slammed his fist on the table “and I will hear no more of your pitiful lies” he said, kicking a chair as he moved out of the room.
And went to remained you of who you belonged to.
He saw you sat beside the man the silly little maids said you were to marry. His hands bawled into fists as he stalked forward, painting a pretty smile on his lips.
“princess” he greeted, kissing your hand softly. His eyes darting to the position of the lord, sending him a glare. “Who is this, idaña mandia?” he questioned
“oh…this is-“ “lord Arthur Oakheart, my prince” the lord interrupted, his voice high pitched and nasally as he rudely interrupted his sweet sister.
“And why, prey tell, are you, with the princess?”
“I am courting her”
“no” Jace spoke, his tone short and snippy.
He looked shocked, hesitating as he continued with a stutter, “I am” he swallowed, looking towards you for aid “the queen she-“
“do not lie to me!” he near shouted, “I am to marry the princess, in what world would some lowly lord, such as yourself a better match than the very prince she was born with and raised with? hmm?” Jace seethed “leave”
“I no-“
The lord tried to insist, again looking to you for some support, only to again find none.
But the mere look to you sent Jace over the edge, and a punch was swiftly delivered to Arthur’s face.
“I will punch every damn man our mother puts in front of us, you are mine” Jace near growled, as he pulled you away from the weeping lord. “Must you entertain so many of them?”
You shook your head “Jace, if I had a choice-“
“Do I have to show you? Show them all, that you are mine?” he said, pulling you close to him “have I not already made it clear”
“you have” you insisted, your hand caressing his cheek.
“clearly not as thoroughly as I though” he mused, before grabbing your hand and dragging you to his chambers.
“Your mine” Jace groaned as he pounded into you from behind. His cock filling you perfectly as he fucked into you. “Say it” he demanded, his hand moving to grip your hair as he fucked into you faster.
“I’m yours…oh gods ‘m yours” you said between moans. Your face a mess.
Tears running down your face as he fucked you relentlessly.
He had been fucking you for hours. Filling you with his seed relentlessly.
Your mind was a haze, and all you could think of was him, and how you were truly and utterly his.
“Maybe I should get you pregnant” he mused, his hand moving from your hair to grip your throat, as he flipped you, so that he was now on top of you, with your legs over his shoulders. “Your already filled with my seed, perhaps a babe would show you who you belong to”
You moaned, your mind blank as another orgasm washed over you.
“you’d like that wouldn’t you, to be round with my child… have me pumping you full of my seed for the rest of our lives” he groaned, at the image himself.
You nodded, more tears falling down your eyes as the pleasure became too much for you.
“Please Jace…I’m yours, breed me, claim me! Make me yours!” you screamed, as you and Jace came together.
Your mind a haze of why needed to claim you so badly, when all you had and would ever think about was him.

The Dragon’s Mercy
Aemond Targaryen x Reader
Summary: After your brother is accused of treason, you are given to Aemond Targaryen to ensure your family’s loyalty.
The cold halls of the Red Keep swallowed you whole.
Each step you took echoed against the stone floors, the weight of your fate pressing against your chest, almost suffocating you.
Your brother had been accused of treason. And instead of execution, your family had been given a choice: surrender you to Aemond Targaryen as proof of loyalty or suffer the consequences.
You had expected chains. A prison cell. A fate worse than death.
Instead, you stood before him now, inside his chambers, watching as the Prince of the Realm, rider of Vhagar, the man they called the Kinslayer, studied you with that single violet eye, sharp as Valyrian steel.
“You tremble,” he observed, his voice low, smooth.
You straightened your spine, swallowing down the fear clawing at your throat. “I do not.”
A ghost of a smirk flashed at the corner of his lips.
He stepped closer, his presence filling the space between you with something heavy, something suffocating.
“I expected resistance,” he mused, tilting his head slightly. “Anger. You think me a monster, do you not?”
You said nothing.
Because you had.
You had imagined cruelty, imagined a man who would take pleasure in your suffering, a captor who would treat you as nothing more than a means to an end.
But Aemond Targaryen only watched you silently. As if you were a puzzle he could not yet solve.
At last, he exhaled sharply. “You will be under my protection. No harm will come to you while you are in my care.”
You blinked. That was not what you had expected.
Still, you lifted your chin defiantly. “And what does your ‘protection’ entail?”
His gaze darkened. “It means that if anyone so much as lays a hand on you, they will burn.”
Days passed. Then weeks.
You had braced yourself for cruelty. Instead, you found something else.
Aemond did not treat you as a prisoner.
You had been given your own chambers, close to his, but never locked. Servants tended to you, ensuring your every comfort.
Aemond watched you.
Every evening, when supper was served in his private quarters, his eye lingered on you as you ate. When you spoke, he listened intently, absorbing every word as though they were precious.
And when you walk through the gardens in the mornings, he is never far, his presence like a shadow cast in silver and black.
It was unnerving.
And yet…
One night, as you stood on the balcony overlooking the city, a strong gust of wind made you shiver. Almost immediately, something warm and heavy settled over your shoulders.
You turned in surprise.
Aemond’s cloak.
His fingers brushed yours as he adjusted it over you. “You should not stand in the cold,” he murmured.
You looked up at him, at the sharp cut of his jaw, the way the moonlight softened his usually harsh features.
“Why do you care?” you whispered.
He hesitated. Then, quietly, “Because you are mine to protect.”
Something shifted in his gaze then, something deeper, something that sent warmth low in your stomach.
It was not long after that the rumours began.
That Aemond Targaryen had grown possessive of the woman given to him. That he kept her close, and allowed no one else near her. That the woman, in turn, had stopped flinching at his presence. She had started looking at him differently.
That she had begun to care for him.
Perhaps it was true.
Because one evening, when Aemond returned from a meeting with the King’s Council, his shoulders tight with tension, you found yourself moving without thought.
You stepped into his space, fingers hesitating before resting gently on his arm. “Aemond?”
He stiffened.
No one touched him. No one dared.
But you did.
He turned his head, his gaze meeting yours, and in that moment, you saw something raw, something unspoken.
Slowly, cautiously, you lifted a hand to his face. You brushed your fingertips along the ridge of his scar, traced the edge of his eyepatch.
Aemond inhaled sharply. “What are you doing?”
You swallowed. “You carry this burden alone.” Your thumb ghosted over his cheekbone. “You do not have to.”
A shudder ran through him. And then, before you could second-guess yourself, you pressed a soft kiss to his scar.
Aemond’s hands clenched at his sides.
“You,” he murmured, voice barely above a whisper, “are going to ruin me.”
You smiled softly. “Then let me.”
And when he kissed you, it was not the kiss of a captor claiming his prize.
It was the kiss of a man who had found something worth keeping.
Something worth protecting.
Something worth loving.

i propose a redo of race to the edge, but this time with a mature rating. imagine:
(spoilers for rtte)
actually being able to see characters deaths and wounds
more depth into snotlout and spitelouts relationship- it’s clearly not a healthy one
more depth into hiccstrid and other couples
specifically, queer couples and characters- we know gobber and snotlout are gay/bi respectively, but we never get more info on that subject
actual blood and wounds
let!!! them!!! say!!!!! fuck!!!!!
more clarification on which dragon fire hurts which dragons, and which ones don’t
blood!!
ruff and tuff clearly have things to say that are not age appropriate, let them say it
could go more in depth with the scarier side of the dragons
show the effects of characters getting wounded!!!!
just. everything about dagur.
could go more in depth with fishlegs’s anxiety?
on that note, all of the gang’s mental health- hiccup clearly overworks and blames himself for everything, astrid has obvious anger issues and pent up rage, snotlout pretends to think he’s better than everyone else to mask his cripplingly low self esteem, fishlegs 100% has anxiety or some kind of panic disorder, ruff is already canonically frustrated with being “a woman in a man’s world” and doesn’t feel appreciated enough, and tuff doesn’t seem to value his own well being very much- not to mention that he literally has hallucinations sometimes
and dagur definitely has something that causes him to be in a constant state of mania
gustav and his parents- he said his mother only notices he’s gone after the third day????
at least one person on berk has (consensually) fucked a dragon. give me some background on that.
at least half of the riders cursing like sailors
being able to show sicknesses better- the time astrid caught the scourge of odin, the time astrid got deathly poisoned, plus the time astrid went blind (astrid sure does get beat up a lot damn)
just give me all the things we couldn’t have as kids!!!! blood!!! gore!!!!!!! death!!!!!!! cursing!!!!!! gays!!!!!!!!! abusive relationships!!!!!!!!! kissing that doesn’t look awkward and forced!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! monster fuckers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! come on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
that is all, thank you for your time
