Hey so like I’ve been following ur blog since my sanders sides days but like genuinely wondering, what fandoms r u in now?

oh gosh, well hi! Thanks for sticking around so long ^.^

It's kinda hard to answer what fandoms I'm *in* per say, because I don't really participate in any particular communities as heavily as I did in the sanders sides community back in the late teens and early twenties, but this is the stuff I'm into/writing right now!

I've started reading books again! I've become one of those "reads 100 books a year" people with a storygraph and a big spreadsheet and an aesthetic book journal and everything, it's really fun. If anyone wants book recs please encourage me I will dump a whole list on you.

The fan community I'm actually participating in a bit right now is the cosmere fandom (fantasy books by brandon sanderson), as I'm in a fandom discord server for that with @mug-of-beans. Currently reading Words of Radiance and losing my mind (affectionate).

I'm writing a Skyrim fanfiction that is my pride and joy, and I recently went into a fugue state and wrote a Battinson oneshot? Batfam is one of those fandoms that I exist in tertiarily (other such fandoms include dp x dc, gravity falls, and good omens), because I follow people who reblog it a lot and I'm in some discord servers that have a lot of those fans as well.

Speaking of Discord servers, I still feel at least a little part of the Sanders Sides fandom (even though I haven't actually consumed any new official content since WTIT), mostly because of my friends who still are active in the fandom, namely @tulipscomeinallsortsofcolors whose fanfiction I am almost more a fan of than the original work at this point, and I'm in a couple different servers with la and several other of my sanders sides mutuals (some are, like me, less active in tss stuff these days but we all met because of sanders sides and so sometimes when we hang out it still feels like a fanclub for it, in a good way).

I don't watch Thomas as much anymore but I still watch a lot of youtube! I started watching Smosh for the first time about...twoish years ago? Just in time to get used to the current cast and its dynamics and in jokes and then be body slammed along with everyone else with the one-two punch of "anthony is back" and "shortney Real Actually." I cycle through different gaming channels depending on my hyperfixations (i go on and off with markiplier, rtgame, jacksepticeye, dougdoug, current big one is game grumps), I like 2nd Try and Mythical and I love video essays. Hbomberguy, Supereyepatchwolf, Dan Olson, Sarah Z, Mandalore Gaming, FD Signifier, Noodle, MothersBasement, probably several I'm forgetting. Oh, and @mug-of-beans and I own Terminal Montage's Blessed Kirbo plush because we needed the Holiest Boy in our house.

ANUBIS ULTRA TALENTS

this is anubis with ultra talents fully unlocked.

now, assuming you are mortal and do not have fully unlimited NP, you do not at all need the cost down and barrier breaker talents, the shield pierce and health talents are largely not necessary, and surge is controversial but ultimately unneeded.

this leaves you with a 128k health 25.6k dps 425 range zkill wave immune surge immune generalist. now, you may look at these stats and think "well, that looks pretty goddamn broken! this must be worth the investment!", and you'd be

entirely wrong.

first of all, please look at that foreswing. 3.87 seconds.

for a frame of reference, lasvoss's foreswing is 2.57 seconds, balrog's foreswing is 0.93 seconds, can can's foreswing is 1.2 seconds. these are all units who are very strong regardless of foreswing, but their foreswing does sometimes decrease their viability, especially if you're using them alongside other strong attackers.

anubis's foreswing is LONG. balrog can attack twice in less than the time it takes for anubis to wind up one attack. this becomes an issue when you bring any other non-anubis attackers, which tend to turn those four seconds of foreswing into an entirely wasted effort if the enemy gets knocked back. this is probably his biggest issue.

anubis's survivability isn't exactly crazy. despite decently high health and solid wave/surge immunity, his high speed (almost as much as manic eraser) and only three knockbacks make it very possible for him to get pushed, especially in later game, and knockback immune just furthers this. he also has no real niche outside of zkill and being a wave/surge immune generalist (unless you shell out for the bbreak and spierce), which is unfortunate for the more specialist oriented lategame, the point at which you'll probably have the resources to bring anubis to true potential. this brings me to my next point:

THE COST.

first off, you need to drop 15 dark eyes on anubis just to bring him to the point at which you can make him viable. dark eyes are still pretty damn rare, despite 41-50 of infernal tower and MAX barons rewarding a few. this also necessitates that you not spend as many on other more viable ultra talents/forms (kuu, klay, shingen, dioramos, etc) or other darkmax viable ubers (yukimura for xp colosseum, balrog, etc). you also need to dump a minimum of 500 np (100 surge immune, 225 attack frequency, 175 attack buff) to make him viable, and other optional talents just make him cost more.

yes, when you spend 15 dark eyes and 500 np on anubis he becomes a solid uber. when you spend 15 dark eyes and about 800 np on kuu, she becomes a top 10 uber. when you spend 15 dark eyes and 410 np on dioramos, it becomes a top 15 uber. anubis just doesn't match up at that point. possibly the current most overhyped uber.

I have a few teams I use often!!! I don't think I need to explain their roles since it's self-explanatory + it's becoming increasing apparent that because of Kazuha, I need grouping in every team lol

Boring answer would be Childe-National ig. He's so underbuilt even though he's triple-crowned because of my dang artifact luck. But XL-Kazuha-Bennett helps him carry anyways lmao. Childe is so much fun idc if this is a predictable answer. Alternative is using Lyney instead of Childe. Lyney and his Aqua Simulacra is me teasing Childe that he can't do big damage (even though Childe is consistent lmao)

Ayato-Diona-Yunjin-Mika/Chongyun is fast as hell, absolutely busted of a freeze-team. I love using this a ton. Ayato never leaves my party anyways so any team with him is just gold. Ayato is the DPS and the rest are there for S P E E D. My alternative freeze is Ayaka-XQ-Kazuha-(any healer/Baizhu) on the other side of the abyss whenever I feel like I use Childe too much.

I call Alhaitham-Kuki-Sucrose-XQ team educational lmao. Idk if that's an actual team name for them, but they're so fun to use together. That and it's always nice to go "Alhaitham no— ALHAITHAM—" when I mess up on the jump. Can you tell I play on mobile.

Crack DPS Baizhu-Yaoyao-Fischl-Mona is the funniest thing too. My Mona is underleveled as hell but I gotta use my accidental C1 Baizhu to good use (this would've been you Kaveh but you refused to give me cons and now look at Baizhu—). I've used DPS Yaoyao at some point. That 4-star polearm in the shop works wonders on her HAHAHAHA

Headcanon (?): I like to headcanon that Ayaka knows what she's doing a lot. It's just hard for me to comprehend what happened in the Inazuma AQ otherwise. I can't wrap my head around the idea that Ayaka is 100% sweet and the perfect housewife the internet portrays her as, etc. Same goes with Thoma. He's a fixer. In real life, that's a person who handles illegal arrangements. Add that with the fact that Ayato is not exactly a clean guy (ahem, let's not forget he has child soldiers), I think Ayaka is just aware of how she's pulling your heartstrings. She's consciously using the people's suffering and her loneliness to you stay. And idk why this take is such a bad thing?? Why is girlboss!ayaka such a questionable headcanon lmao.

since ive started using tumblr to just dump my thoughts into the void like i use to do with twitter.

im avoiding bg3 till they patch the slow loading buildings and such in act 3 so ive been playing world of warcraft again. and im leveling my paladin as a tank via dungeons bc its timewalking week so levels are just zooming by with the short ass dungeon queues. but like. i just dont understand how im the tank, top dps, AND top heals. and like god bless those healers that understand keeping up with the tank (i go fast bc ive been playing this game for so fucking long) but also like... idk i know i shouldnt get annoyed at these healers that just dont keep up.

and i get it. these healers are probably new. either new to healing or new to the game in general. and im 100% part of the reason people are probably put off to being a healer. and i hate myself for it.

and im trying to slow down in these runs but like. man. im a real shit player. im constantly in fast mode when it comes to these timewalking dungeons bc the dungeons themselves are so short.

its a different story when its current dungeons. everyone in the group understands that 80% of the time the tank can and will pull huge groups. because its just a waste of time to pull small. just pull big and aoe everything down.

ive been like this ever since i started playing back in wrath. the first time i ever ran with a tank that would just constantly pull big was such an eye opener that when i did dungeons with my guild i pushed them to pull faster and pull more because i knew i could handle it.

im just an elitist. and the worst part is that im so casual with this game now. i dont raid with a solid group anymore. hell the only raiding i do is the dog shit easy difficulty of the raids. i dont push high level dungeon keys anymore. hell i dont even do mythic difficulty keys anymore. i just do the bare minimum to passively get gear because i dont have the need to get top gear asap. hell i have so many max level characters and im still constantly leveling new ones.

okay hi hello i dont know the exacts of what you wanna know so i will indulge abt the parts of his lore ive been most focused on rn: his relationship with dustin (this will be deepest lore type shit)

so!! dustin was the second man cyril ever dated, and this was in college. they met some time their first year and cyril wouldnt necessarily say they hit it off but well- he's not the strongest when a cute guy decides he's gonna flirt with him. honestly, i think it says something abt cyril that he didnt exactly fight the dude away even though he wasnt the biggest fan of him but, well, i feel like its understandable after noting this dude was like a whole ass volcel who barely took care of himself after finding the first guy he dated's dead body dumped in an alley so- you take what you can get as a disheveled mess of a person.

anyways, i feel like i dont discuss just how shitty of a guy cyril was for a lot of their relationship. like, you can definitely sympathize with him but idk- (trying so hard to keep myself from spilling every sin ive written into this story) he was a pretty damn closed off guy to dustin and its understandable why, between the fact he was pressured into the relationship and the fact he was taught to view emotions as inherently bad, and idk- i think they were both better off never having gotten together and sure i wrote them but i also didnt if you know the Deepest deepest lore (this relationship is based on one of my own :p ((yes half my oc lore is venting)))

anyways that aside i like talking abt how cyril's disability actually effects his day to day and i just- so dustin was killed because cyril shot him yeah? i feel like it should be known that was 100% a lucky shot, this dude has shit aim 99.9% of the time and elijah absolutely mocks him relentlessly, of course its important to note that their entire dynamic when it comes to fighting though is tank x dps lmaoooo theyre silly lil guys. regardless, cyril cant see out of one of his eyes which does make a lot of shit regarding needing depth perception difficult as all hell. if he really tried he could probably overcome the whole "shit ass aim" thing but he also doesnt mind being the one with terribad aim considering elijah is a trained sniper regardless, he has the whole demonic strength thing going for him, he'll be fine.

In your previous tags you mentioned roughly 100 years passing between the events of DP and this, well imagine the JLD being contacted by someone who claims to have information on the hydra, and they turn out to be some rando Amity Parker who tried to expose the GIW by skipping town with a bunch of evidence of GIW human rights abuses in VHS tape format and got murdered and dumped in Lake Eerie by the GIW for their troubles (along with their car, for good measure).

For the purposes of this, let's say that DP happens at some point in the late 1980s/early 90s and that it's now the 2090s when the JLD are investigating.

Imagine John Constantine going to meet this mysterious contact, only to feel a surge of death magic from the lake, hears a car honk behind him, and whirls around to see this rusty-ass 1980s sedan with every light glowing Lazarus Pit green slowly drive out of the surf, and then the car suddenly rattles to a stop and a drowned corpse with a bullet wound in the back of their head stumbles out of the car and says they're the contact John was supposed to meet, and then eagerly presents his (completely ruined) collection of VHS tapes

Another Hydra prompt! Because I am enjoying the designs I’ve made lol. And perhaps it’s a bit inspired by @radiance1 ‘s different dragon prompts too. 

So they’ve succeeded! They’ve managed to combine their powers- with a bit of shapeshifting helped along by so many ghost allies- and become a giant duck-you dragon! Well, originally they were going to do something else, but they couldn’t agree on an animal, so dragon it was! 

And how mighty they are! They’re giant, absolutely massive- dwarfing the couple of skyscrapers still in Amity. Damages via ghost attacks and general sparring made it where people really didn’t want to rebuild those types of buildings. 

But anyway, dragon! Them! They’re absolutely stunning! And did they mention powerful? Because boy oh boy, are they powerful. The GIW’s guns do practically nothing against their combined might, and barriers shatter before them! 

The uh, issue is that they erm… can’t turn back. Which is fine, they’ve all sort of outlived most of their generation- thank you possessions and ecto-contamination, it’s just a tiny bit of an adjustment. But really it’s not too bad, and someone needs to stop the GIW from trying to poke their heads into Amity. Like it’s been a solid couple of generations, it’s time to stop, thanks. 

Actually they’ve been a bit quiet. Meh, that surely isn’t a problem. Probably. Honestly they’re all going to use the opportunity to sprawl out where the school yard once was, their favorite place to sun their scales. Huh. Jack's exact lines on the matter in Bitter Reunions are "We haven't spoken since that day. But the good news is, I think after all these years, he's finally forgiven me." Now granted, Jack is 100% an unreliable narrator, but imo his using "we" here suggests one of two scenarios: Jack ditched Vlad and never tried to reach out from the get-go, or Vlad refused to let Jack see him in the hospital and Jack backed off. The fact that he's only trying to reconnect now that Vlad has invited him back can also suggest that he was waiting for something like that to happen before trying to talk to Vlad again.

My issue is that we don't get direct confirmation of which one it was in canon, and that allows different interpretations of what happened. Heck, the "you abandoned me for 20 years" bit would've been a great grievance for Vlad to bring up in Phantom Planet, but no it's just "you turned me into a mutant freak and married the girl I loved" and that's it. That could've confirmed which one it was, but still nothing.

To Jack never telling his kids about Vlad. Why would he...? He thinks Vlad hasn't forgiven him for what happened, and before BR it was quite possible that he would never see Vlad again because for whatever reason interacting with Vlad hinged on Vlad inviting Jack back into his life. It's also possible that Jack has briefly mentioned Vlad by first name only before, and Jazz just never put the pieces together before because she didn't know his last name.

To the godfather bit I have to ask if we ever got canon confirmation of that. I know Danny went to live with Vlad in TUE but how do we know he didn't start with other relatives and then end up with Vlad because his ghost powers were making him unmanageable or endangering them or something like that? Vlad's words on the matter are "With nowhere else to go, you came to me, the only person on the planet who could possibly hope to understand your situation." Which, if Vlad was the first option would be weird because Maddie has a living sister that Danny could've gone to. I guess it's also possible that she said no and thus Danny had to turn to Vlad as a guardian.

And then we look at this with the added context of the alternate timeline in Masters of All Time. MoAT shows that Vlad is a nasty enough person that he would dump a gravely ill friend and manipulate another just to be with a girl he liked. It's one of the reasons I don't like the episode cause to me it says "Vlad was always a nasty piece of shit even without the accident(so it's okay that Jack hurt him so badly in the main timeline! He was always bad and you don't have to feel bad about it!)" Other reasons include Jack not getting his own ghost form, Danny is not wearing a Time Medallion while time traveling(which imo points to Clockwork making a fake timeline because why would he let a stubborn teen mess up the real one), so much stuff being a lazy copy-paste of the main timeline... But that would be a whole post on its own so I'll drop that. The main point is that MoAT's characterization of Vlad lends further weight to the interpretation that he pushed Jack away after the accident. Granted, even a nicer person would probably tell Jack to take a hike after what happened, and for very good reason, but still. It also opens up the question of whether or not Jack and Vlad ever really friends to begin with or was Jack just being an unreliable narrator who didn't see the warning signs that their friendship wasn't real.

No argument on Maddie not giving a shit about Vlad. Good observations there. She probably saw him more as "Jack's friend" than as her own.

Also no argument about all the adults sucking, which is kind of a trend in DP as a whole tbh. None of the adults in Danny's life are acting as they should. I just think that the canon is open enough that interpretations that are less dire than what you saw are still valid as what could've happened.

When it comes to the emotional intelligence issue I feel like this is also a problem of the show having low emotional intelligence tbh. The writers just weren't thinking about this stuff and took it for granted that viewers would forgive the Fenton parents and see them as good regardless of what they do. (Because this show is 100% not a fan of them catching consequences for their actions.)

AU idea I stumbled across while writing up notes for chapter 11 like. What if AU where Vlad wrote Jack out of his life after getting out of the hospital and never looked back. He still has ghost powers and is still stupid rich but he's off just doing his own thing and hasn't thought much about Jack in years.

When the reunion rolls around Vlad invites the Fentons because they were part of the class for that year so it's just a matter of course. He treats them like any other guest and is kind of bewildered when Jack addresses him like they should be really close during the reunion party, and asks Jack to remind him of how he knew him back in college.

Jack is pretty hurt by the coldness and goes over the whole deal about them being best friends back in college and then sort of. Brushes over the fact that he caused the accident that sent Vlad to the hospital for years.

Vlad listens with polite interest and then when Jack gets to the accident he coldly tells Jack that he remembers now. Then he laughs, and asks what Jack expected by strolling up as if they were still friends. Jack injured Vlad and then never even apologized, never reached out, he's basically making Jack out to be the worst person in front of everyone at the reunion party. Everyone else present is a fair-weather friend for abandoning him cause his ailment made him "too ugly" to want to be seen with but at least they didn't pretend otherwise when they showed up for the reunion.

Jack is devastated by this and all the other Fentons are furious with Vlad for humiliating him in front of an audience. Danny decides to prank Vlad as payback after the party is over and ends up running into Plasmius that way. Vlad basically conjures a broom and swats Danny back out of his house because he has no time for some uppity ghost kid and he has other stuff to get on with. They don't figure out each other's secret identities until some time later.

Danny has a grudge against Vlad for humiliating his dad and takes any chance he can to try to play ghostly pranks on him. Never seems to work for some reason and that Plasmius ghost keeps showing up to stop him maybe they're friends and--WAIT.

It's a huge shock when Danny figures out that Vlad is also a human-ghost hybrid. Literally the only other person like him is a guy he hates for being mean to his dad. Vlad figured Danny out a while ago but didn't say anything cause he wanted to see how long it took Danny to realize it.

Danny wants Vlad to apologize for humiliating his dad and Vlad's just like, no Jack never apologized for landing me in the hospital for years and turning me into a mutant freak why should I apologize to him? You're lucky you escaped with only the mutant freak part, kid.

So potential for angst and for comedy. Could be fun!

it's 100% curse for 4.5 seconds vs all traits (including traitless). this, of course, was the first epicfest uber to not target traitless exclusively, and paved the way for dphono's bullshit which we can talk about later if you wish. without getting too deep into surge anatomy (https://docs.google.com/document/d/1qhYUwA5SoFtMAcMgpyvmvZxtCnWqlsjsYcj2kuS5L8k/edit if you DO want to get too deep into surge anatomy), surges hit 125 in front of the spawnpoint and 250 behind. dasli surge spawnpoint is anywhere between 400 and 700. therefore, she will guaranteed permacurse between 450 range and 525 range, which is approximately in the middle of her LD (long distance). she has a solid chance of hitting 275-400, 400-450, and 525-675, all of which are within her LD but aren't guaranteed damage (which is kinda weird because her standing range is 400, her surge is only guaranteed to hit 50-125 range in front of her standing range lmao), and she can also sometimes hit 150-275 and 675-825 with surge, although she can't hit those areas with her initial LD hit. this isn't just important for her curse, this is basically the entire point of the unit. we'll talk about how this affects DPS later.

so yeah, she's gonna consistently permacurse pretty much everything she can either: 1. outrange (400 standing range is pretty high) or 2. use a stepping stone on (use a peon for that 275 piercing range to hit a backliner) most SoL stages are gonna have consistent enough peons for you to permacurse backliners. a lot of earlier UL stages are also gonna work for that purpose. later UL and ZL feature more fucked up enemy combinations and enemies with crazy stats than backliners who are gonna CC your units. can dasli deal with those stats?

spoiler alert: yeah lmao

i will show both level 30 and level 60 stats to show how insane this unit is even without boost. at level 30, dasli has 78200 health with five knockbacks. this is 15640 endurance per knockback, which is almost the same as a level 20 manic eraser (15720). at level 60, dasli has 147200 health, which is 29440 endurance. this is more endurance than a level 50 manic eraser (25545). for comparison, this is 10k more health than daliasan at level 30 (20k more when both are at level 60), 30k more health than phono at level 30 (60k more at 60), 20k more health than dphono at level 30 (40k more at 60), and more health than anyone really needs. at level 60, she could tank an unstrengthened balrog hit.

what about level 60?

22069 DPS. better generalist DPS than an uber you have to dump weeks if not months of work into, and she has good LD pierce and surge and you need to spend another 175 NP to get kuu's health to be better than hers.

dasli is so broken that PONOS introduced behemoths to counter her, then that didn't work and she was still broken, so they introduced counter-surge to literally counter her, and then that STILL didn't work and building your lineup around full surge immunity so you can use dasli on counter-surge stages is unironically a viable strat, and then they made an epicfest version of easily the best uberfest exclusive in the game, and it was still worse than dasli. they made curse and surge to counter mitama, and those two things had to become so incredibly pervasive in the meta to take mitama down a notch that they gave dasli her use. for dasli to lose her crown, there would have to be an uber so bullshit that it would ruin the balance of the game even more, which is what they said about mitama, and mitama is still a top 10 uber.

tl;dr: dasli is the best uber in the game, and it's not even close.
