Ough the self deprecating from each turtle and their different perspectives on what happened is perfect. Leo being nothing without his brothers, Raph wanting to be stronger to protect them, Donnie believing hes just the tech guy and Mikey feeling out of place. I can already see the potential for first.

And this bishop... she's a bishop alright, or well, similar to 03 bishop in wanting to eliminate all mutants, a "human threat" while also ending up endangering humans in their attempts. Same motives for different reasons. Mutants(or really a mutant) destroyed what she loved, something for her sister who I'm not sure is dead or she just really loves her.

One thing I must thank my turtle posters for is so far no 2012apriltello/caseytello/capriltello or whatever love story equivalent with the leopril. It's so refreshing and actually is very cute. Leo still has a crush it's just not blasted into your eyes, and I couldn't be more happy.

They included alot of possibly forgotten characters(I say possibly because some haven't watch the older versions, and thats okay), there is Angel who reminds me alot of Kendra, Hun appears again as a possible bro to Raph, ofc pigeon pete Michelangelo's son(I will not explain) and you already heard of bishop. There's probably more but I'm only half way in and I took a break to get some food.

If you can, you should watch it, it's very fun and silly, also, possible angst. The music is great, and the art and animation are fan-fucking-tastic like, holy shit, but that's to be expected (if you plan to watch it, read tags plz)

Overall I give 10/10, would give hun a chicken

Absolutely tickled by your Shredder/Splinter swap AU. Uh. Long ask warning. Like. Thinking about how in Lone Rat and Cubs Splinter's like, validly, "What did I do to deserve this? :(". Cinder meanwhile-- "What did I do-- oh wait yeah. What did the turtles do though?"

Young Raph and Leo getting super into training (taught for self-defense, I'm guessing), and Cinder just. Begging them to get a different hobby. Please. He'll even give the children noisy toys (the bane of many a parent) if they would just. Stop.

Michelangelo, already manipulative as a younger brother, being an absolute MENACE under this new parentage-- Cinder may not be a great manipulator, but he certainly had enough charisma to inspire a coup.

Cinder would probably be like, "Absolutely NOT," in regards to Donnie and April. (Romance is DANGEROUS, kids!!!) Which, since it'd probably be a harsh, instinctive reaction... would not be great for Donnie's character development.

Miwa meanwhile... her choices in teenage rebellion are either 1. be laidback in response to her father's seriousness, or 2. be murderhobo in response to her father's values. Since Saki's alive, #2 is looking really appealing... (Kinda reminds me of a crack AU of mine-- TL;DR Shredder realizes after killing Shen that he Done Fucked Up and wants to be better. Somehow this doesn't stop S1 from happening.

Point is, they share this vibe:

Saki: Look Yoshi, I understand you wanting me dead but could you stop sending teenager(s) to try and kill me? It's not good for their mental development!

Yoshi, who does not want Saki dead: My kid(s) are WHAT?)

EXCELLENT point about the way lone rat and cubs would play out differently. Like, Cinder ABSOLUTELY believes he deserves his fate to be mutated and outcast from society, but his boys? They didn't deserve any of that. They don't deserve to have HIM as a father. But they do, so he does his best to care for them and not make them feel ashamed of what they are

(though, now that I think about it, I think he would do a much worse job of it than Splinter. Though Splinter ALSO is not a huge fan of being mutated into a giant rat lmao, he wouldn't have Cinder's belief that it's, like, a punishment. He talks positively about being a human, AND his life as a rat with his sons, and though they can tell he misses being human, I don't think he really gives much of an impression that his whole being-a-rat is a bad thing. Plus, Splinter leans into it a lot with his cheese phone and his cheesesicles and the rat wheel fhdaksghkasghlk.

Cinder would be different, I think. He may not outright state it, because he's not dumb lol, but I think it would come through more that he views his mutation as an overall negative thing (that he deserves), and he would not be one to encourage the rat jokes. So the turtles may be a bit less positive and comfortable with their status as turtles. Idk, sidebar fhadshksdglk)

FHALSGHKDSG, Cinder literally trying EVERYTHING to get them to stop being so interested in fighting. he gives them finger paint. he gives them loud toys (where raph gets his drum set fhdkasghkds). he scrounges up an old video game console. they still like sparring the most. what remains of his fur is going grey

oh man, Mikey would be DANGEROUS. which also, just another tangent, I do think it's so interesting that what we see of Shredder in 2012.... is NOT particularly charming or manipulative! which, like you said, he had to be charismatic and convincing enough to inspire a whole coup. What we see of his strategy seems to be mostly threats, which yeah, works NOW that he's super powerful, but in the beginning? nah. we see SOME charm in the tale of the yokai episode, where he tries to convince Shen to leave Yoshi, but that's p much it. So like, idk, it's interesting to think about. My interpretation (mostly) has been that, like, he just kind of loses control at the start of the show with the re-emergence of Yoshi, and the super-aggressive Shredder we see is kind of out-of-the-ordinary. Like, that's him when he's enraged beyond belief. but idk hfashgklskdgl I think it's very ambiguous...

ANYWAYS, omg the Donnie angst angle??? Literally that never even crossed my MIND but you're so fucking right. idk if you read my father/daughter one-shot but the description you gave of a harsh, instinctive reaction called to mind how he snaps at Karai in that one, which, idk. I like that thought a lot. it would absolutely drive a bit of a rift between Donnie and Cinder, that's for sure.

omg yes that's literally EXACTLY the vibe I had in mind for Miwa. To Yoshi she's like "I'm just here to support you, I really don't want anything to do with Uncle Saki" and Yoshi is like "I understand <3"

Meanwhile Miwa is sneaking out at night to attack the turtles and try to hunt down (and kill) Cinder. Meaning the turtles are EXTRA convinced this Hamato clan is up to no good, Cinder is SURE that Yoshi wants him dead, and Yoshi is just like ":(((( why won't my brother talk to me.... I just want to move forward and find a way to be a family again...."

ANYWHO LONG ANSWERS BUT:

1- This was honestly supposed to be a two part comic. The entire au is based off of experiences I have had (minus the whole dying part of course) with my cousins and or brother. The first part was about Donnie and Mikey- and Mikey having the puppy dog eyes that Donnie couldn't do. That was about my cousin! It was supposed to just be like oh look Mikey can do puppy eyes. And then I saw something about how kids that struggle with understanding emotions can practice expressions in the mirror sometimes* and was like haha I should add this since it's actually something I used to do as well! THEN I wrote the line about him wanting to be the youngest and I mean... my brain went straight to "now what if Mikey dies"...

I didn't expect people to like it as much as they did tbh... so when people started to really comment on it I was like okay I should bring Mikey back to life... But then it turned into a whole au...

It's almost entirely planned out now! And most comics are still based off of stories of things that have happened with my cousins or brother! (Like how I smashed my cousins legos because I was angry at him.... its a long story lol).

*(It can also be something that kids with autism do... and someone actually pointed it out! ->)

2- Thats a really hard one... I think my fav has to do with the situation I guess? Or how I'm feeling? But Donnie and Mikey are probably my favorite overall! But only by a teensy tiny bit.

Raph and Mikey are my favorite angst wise, and the ones I can relate to the most. Leo and Mikey are really fun, and I really like using it to explore responsibility.

I think it does show in the comic! I mean I went straight to the PB & J duo- and then with Leo and Mikey I really explored responsibility. With Raph and Mikey it was shorter, but it was a lot more emotional for me personally. And right now Raph and Mikey are really getting the spotlight. Though Leo and Mikey are the main ones in the next update! :)

So I’m assuming that since the kids are little they can’t really withstand the effects of nature and HAVE to hibernate, while since Karai is older the effects are somewhat minimized, correct?

Its winter, you know what that means!!!

Being turtle (or half turtle) Don's kids hibernate from November to early April! First, they eat as much as their little stomachs and take for Thanksgiving, then crash right in a warm cuddle pile with their big sister.

Of course, there are a few differences, being they have to be woken up twice a week to eat, and bath, also get checkups from dad to see when they'll be waking up in spring!

They aren't the happiest when being woken up, let's just say... Their very picky with food and HATE bathing- they just wanna get right back to bed.

Most of the time, the littler kids are completely immobile, (just limp when bathing and eating.) So mom and dad have to carry them around whilst they sleep soundly for six months.

Tamry carries the twins, and Donnie carries Maggie and the older boys due to him being the stronger one physically, so he can take the weight.

Note: Donnie can hibernate, but he's also got human DNA so he doesn't exactly need to, he's just super sleepy and grumpy through all of winter.

The Littles also need their strength to be big and strong like dad, so that's why they sleep all through winter even if their also half human!

I think his personality is really strong! He has more substance to him and really is a great version of Leo!

Design wise, not much to go off? I think the white film for eyes for the turtles is actually a great touch for this installment, so brownie points for that (:

like his personality???? I love it. He’s not some stressed out mf turtle who tries to be Mr. Perfect all the time. He actually has SUBSTANCE. I live for it.

His design is rly nice! I noticed that his eyes are more slanted than his brothers, and his blue eyes are the cutest yall.

As for character development, one of the best aside from 2003 leonardo, I loved his growth from a nervous leader to a more confident one who knows he can get shit done!!!

Idk something about this Leo rubs me the wrong way personality wise? Like this version of Leo and the 2007 Leo both said some shit that seemed so not him given the situation?

He knew how much being human meant to Raph and Mikey but immediately said that their opinions didn’t matter, only his. Which I really didn’t like, it made me hate him a lil LMAO

Whilst 2007 Leo said he was better than Raph, which I feel like 2012 and 2003 Leo would never ever say out loud. I didn’t like that at all from bay Leo & 2007 Leo

Character development…meh. It’s a movie, it moves quick. I WISH we got a 3rd movie but Yk 😐😐😐my opinion may be different

As for design, this might be what saves him LMAO

I love love LOVE the tattoos on the brothers, & I like that Leo has the most! Not only that, but they kept him with blue eyes! THANK YOU.

I also like his lil fit, I’m (very) happy they decided to put clothes on the turtles. It seems more natural. Of course they’d wear clothes when outside, they’d probably feel naked without it.

- Overall, it was fantastic. I believe a great way to end the season. The next episode that airs is in a week and it’s titled “Many Unhappy Returns.” In a way, I wish we had a bit of a hiatus so we could sit and suffer for a little longer (horrible, I know but I just want to cherish the glory of this finale a little longer before the new season starts) but anyway, I’m still very very excited for what’s to come. I don’t even know what to think about what will happen with Draxum. He’s not dead. But ??? Still so many questions

355. Donny Montell - “Love is blind” Lithuania 2012

While Donny Demontell was markedly less insufferable in his twinkarnation, I still found him pretty annoying lol. He’s such a ham-fisted attentionmonger who thinks he’s hot shit. 🙄 and guess what, he totally isn’t? Of course he had to resort to doing a cartwheel and OMFG THAT FUCKING AIR GUITAR IS BURNT FOREVER ON MY RETINA ugh, I wish *I* had been blind during this ordeal. 🤮

354. 3+2 ft Robert Wells - “Butterflies” Belarus 2010

“ZOMG BUTTERFLY WINGS!!!” I don’t *care* okay. If you go literal in the most lifeless way possible, you’re just starved for good staging ideas. “Butterflies” is an average-run-the-mill Sovbot ballad, with zero personality, mediocre vocals and a literal (ie: unoriginal) gimmick. AND qualified, in doing so destroying the miraculous wonder of ~Kuunkuiskaajat~. Unacceptable!!!

353. Dalal & Deen ft. Ana Rucner and Jala - “Ljubav je” Bosnia & Herzegovina 2016

One of the biggest diseases in postmodern Eurovision is Meaningitis. A lot of countries feel like they are supposed to slap on random Socially Relevant Critique onto their entries haphazardly. “Ljubav je” is one of the more egregious examples where a fairly generalist message of love and humanitarianism was transformed into a naggy refugee crisis pamphlet. 🙄 Underscored with barbed wire and foil blankets.

But of course, this by itself wasn’t enough for Bosnia, so they also made a DESPERATE grab at BDex. Now, I am aware Nina deserved to win it, but I voted for Bosnia and I have zero regrets whatsoever. It was ugly and so are they. 😞Ana Rucner’s “outfit” alone. This frontal assault to the visual senses was SUPEREFFECTIVE (in making me dislike them :) 

(having said all that, while i DISlike “Ljubav je” overall, props to Jala for one of the few instances of kick ass White Guy Rapping in Eurovision :) Too bad it’s wasted on this shitstorm of an entry  tho 😞)

For some reason, I have a feeling that Madgalena Tul has fans and... I can’t really see why? “Jestem” is pretty dope in studio version, but the live. 😬 A lot of disembodied voices and bad camera angles and it sucks all of the life it couldn’t had. I suppose it’s apt that this was also the FIRST live perfomance in all of 2011. Great way to set up three nights of major disappointment. Though recently I heard Magdalena became semi-relevant again, when she turned up at Eurovision in Concert, where she proceeded to absolutely butcher “To nie ja”.   🙃

The Armenian Magdalena. Srbuk showed all the promise in the world, which she continued to show with an intense treatise on domestic violence, but the actual live... You were supposed to be strong, Srbuk, WHERE WAS YOUR POWER???  😭 WE BELIEVED IN WE ALL BELIEVED IN YOU -- BorisBanks

I don’t even know what else to add about Srbuk, honestly? Armenia provided NO staging (zomg shot of an empty arena!! no one curr, don’t you understand how immersion and cinematic tension work? Apparently not.), poor diction (you can barely make out what she sings), weak pinched voice (+ a DISASTROUS high note), NEGATIVE CHARISMA (I just feel she’s permanently irate?), not to mention the general death-by-wideshotness that ran rampant in 2019. A complete failure and a massive disappointment. Gtfo my ranking plz.
