EDIT: i removed the “trump refused to swear on the bible” point because it was being taken as me being an offended christian. i’m not christian, im agnostic. the reason i included it in the first place is because he’s the first president in history to ever refuse to swear on ANYTHING. meanwhile his “conservative christian” followers had no issue with this, and decided to continue to scramble for excuses instead of admitting he may not be as religious as he claims he is. i figured taking that point out entirely is probably better than filling this with an explanation in the middle of the other important issues.

The issue is that some of them don't care.

My dad is a strong trump supporter. The debt is is biggest worry. He wants immagrints to be deported because he thinks they are the cause of the debt of our country and that what Elon is doing is a good start to the debt.

When arguing with my mom, she brought Guantanamo Bay up. "I don't have to support everything he does when he'll mostly do good he said" When she asked for one good thing Trump has done, he said something about the MLK assassination and CIA being defunded. She asked for more and instead of giving more, he said "nothing will ever be enough." It was an impasse and now my mom isn't allowed to bring up politics.

Many Trump supporters are willing to turn a blind eye to concentration camps. Nothing will ever be enough to support trump when his orders are ACTIVLEY killing people.

Many say "the government would never do that." They're also turning a blind eye.

When people turn a blind eye to this sort of thing, those in power keep going. That's how it works and will always work. Please don't do that. Please. At the VERY least acknowledge that our government is fucked up right now and hurting people. That's the bare minimum. And people aren't even hitting that

A reminder to the "the American government wouldn't..." crowd. They have. They have made their own internment camps before. They have rounded up innocent citizens and immigrants before. The victims of which are still alive to this day and trying to share their stories with the world, they have been trying to warn us for a long time. George Takei (as seen above) is a famous example of this. He has written about his experiences time and time again, even publishing a book talking about his time in these camps. He may be famous now, but at the time he was just another kid forced from his home. To this day he still firmly dedicates himself to trying to educate and inform people, trying to spread awareness with his platform. The American Government can and will do terrible things. Do not let anyone convince you otherwise.
