yes, this man saves coupons and doesn’t own a car but takes the subway or walks to work everyday despite being fucking superman. This guy loves baseball sooooo much he thinks baseball is the best sport in the world and he’ll infodump abt it if you let him. He’s the best cook in the league and makes the most delicious meals ever seemingly without any effort at all, he loves making food for everyone and everyone is always shocked at how good it all tastes.

This guy grew up watching shitty old sitcoms so of course his sense of humor is very old and specific. Also because of where he grew up and who he grew up with, he had a pretty strong accent when he was little but living in metropolis made it go away almost, it’s still there but it’s way more subtle.

everyone agrees with this but i’m putting it in here anyways, kryptonians have fangs, clark has little fangs, it’s the way it is, it’s real.

his hair is naturally very curly and it shows no matter what he does to it, as clark kent he slicks it back and makes it look nice but the curl still very clearly shows. as SUPERMAN, he of course still has his iconic little curl in front, but the rest of it is NOT perfectly slicked back, that’s STUPID and i’m GETTING RID OF IT!!! He’s fucking superman, always flying around at high speeds fighting crime doing all this crazy shit getting beat up or beating some jacked up monster up, there is no way in HELL that his hair stays that perfect, it is ALWAYS crazy, curls everywhere, very windswept look. this is practically canon but he just lets himself into the batcave whenever he needs something from bruce and bruce stopped caring years ago because deep down he loves this guy and is overjoyed to see him everytime but would never say that becayse he’s bruce and bruce is fucking stupid and emotionally constipated. The only reason he does this to Bruce only is because he thinks it’s funny, anything that bothers batman is a little bit funny to him. He has a tiny little streak of doing-things-just-for-the-sake-of haha-sillies deep within him and he mostly takes it out on bruce. Like when he found out Dick’s favorite superhero is actually him and not bruce, he found that significantly amusing and often teases bruce abt it but in the most subtle way. He is the KING of subtlety when it comes to this stuff.

speaking of Dick, he and dick have gotten together to prank bruce on more than one occasion. Dick is usually the one to instigate it but Clark never says no.

this is more of a personal complaint of mine but still a headcanon i guess, his SKIN TONE IS NOT THAT WHITE!! kryptonian eyes glow in the dark and it makes for some scary ass situations for other people i mean. speedster eyes also glow in the dark, i was gonna draw something abt this one day. like one time bruce was on the watch tower late at night and most of the lights were off, he’s just finishing up some stuff and was unaware that clark had not left the tower yet and so he turns around and there’s just two glowing red eyes in this dark hallway, and bruce is a bit unsettled for a minute until it speaks LMAO

clark loves ducks, like a lot. He likes flying with them he likes watching them in the pond at the park, he likes giving them little crumbs from his lunch occasionally, he likes them, they’re his favorite animal. Also because the kents always had ducks on the farm when he was little and he liked to chase em around and catch one and then just hold it and pet it for a while. He named all the ducks everytime they got new or more ducks on the farm

This man still believes in Santa Claus, this is actually canon in the DCAU and I fully support it. Which also leads to my belief that he’s one of those people that just loves christmas SO much, he’s always so happy when christmas rolls around he decorates early, he starts listening to the music early, he has at least four different ugly sweaters, and buys all his gifts for everyone early. he also decorates the watchtower and the hall of justice, of course everyone else in the league helps out with that too

i get embarrassed when i write about certain characters bc i feel like i don’t characterize them well or im doing something wrong, and honestly i don’t know how to get my motivation back

i just wanna write abt our boy genius but idk where to start anymore 😕

well honestly i’ve never maintained an interest for as long as i have w reid/cm in general and while it does fluctuate in intensity i genuinely can’t explain why im still enthralled after over a year. like i have always been the person to get grotesquely obsessed with something and then find myself suddenly disgusted with it after like a month or two, so my interest being maintained in this dumb show is honestly like pure luck i guess lol and the fact that i havent hyperfixated on anything else since then? very very odd idk why that happened! anyway more below

also i just love writing, like i have loved writing my entire life long before i wrote fanfic and long before i wrote reid fanfic, so i think the fact that writing is so inextricably a part of who i am makes it easier for me to stay motivated because it’s not like my love of writing is contingent on my continued obsession with the character if that makes sense?

honestly just write him until you feel like you get him right, watch the show and study his mannerisms/how he talks, and write what YOU want to read, that’s super important, inspiration is easiest to tap into when it comes from inside yourself and not based on what you think others would like

it doesn’t need to be perfect there are a million ways to interpret a character!

and my best advice for writers block is to go back like ten lines and change whatever happened because when im most inspired the story literally forms itself and I don’t have to really stop and think about it very much as i go, so if i come to a dead end i just turn around and go a different direction!

but also sometimes you just truly may not have any ideas for a character or not have anything to say about them for the moment and that’s totally okay. in that case i go back and work on drafts or just read drafts, read my favorite fics, watch the show, and don’t force myself to write if it’s just not happening cause there’s no reason to do that

and also idk if this is universal but whenever i set hard and fast dates for myself to get a chapter done by or something i get scared and feel pressured and just completely abandon the whole thing so setting hard dates does not work for me at all and actually turns me off of writing so much

Oh I have so little idea whats happening but I'm kinda putting it together I think (I have no idea where the au started) but I'm just. Its so cool. Its so fuckin cool. Gnawing on the north au like a chew toy oh my GOD its so cool. Also again your TKITN design is nuts dude.

Oh, what a great segue to talk about the basis of this au (mainly cause there's a LOT of lore and scenes in this that, oml dude, IT'S A LOT TRUST ME, all kinds of things happen, and it gets,,, crazy and I can't explain everything, there is spoilers A LOT OF THEM THAT NO ONE KNOWS ABOUT)

So for an introduction to this madness (I apologize in advance for all the reading):

This is an au based around Tkitn being possessed by an entity called "The North", y'know, the person you see with the glowy yellow eyes. The North is an entity of the North itself and also [REDACTED], and had ended up possessing Legundo because [REDACTED, no spoilers about this scene yet] Whenever you see tkitn with said yellow eyes (I call them "star eyes") that is when he is fully possessed by the North. Even when he's not currently being possessed, tkitn has this entity inside his body at all times. They're stuck stuck together. With that said, they even have a partial possession over tkitn when the North doesn't fully possess him (they can slip their own words out of tkitn's mouth, sometimes making it seem like tkitn said those words, even if he didn't -most of the time, tkitn is aware of the words, sometimes he has no idea what the North said- On the other hand, the North could also prohibit tkitn from saying anything at all, restricting his ability to speak, if they don't want to hear/allow tkitn to say the things he's gonna say. Also, the North can have some control of tkitn's body when they're partially possessing him. (There's some fun scenes with that) Like when tkitn found out about the possession, he wanted to tell his people about it, but the North basically was like "no".)

The entire North is classified as Their Domain

Tkitn's own morals don't fully agree with the North itself

The North sort of has a bit of a bloodlust, along with being a really good fighter. To the ordinary person, it seems like tkitn is absolutely wrecking people in the battlefield, when in reality, tkitn's skill set does not match up with the North's at all. The North has plenty of supernatural abilities, being an entity and all.

(I give credit to @betweenlands for being the one to help me make the next two bullet lists)

1.) List of the North's abilities (there's more than just this, but this is what has been spoiled/leaked to either a group and/or a single person, mostly being friends of mine):

Supernatural speed/strength/resiliency when possessing someone

Can compel other people (that they aren't possessing) to do things no matter how hostile that person may be to them

Can pull the person they're possessing into a sort of dreamscape they have complete control over if/when their host becomes unconscious (this does include when tkitn is asleep)

Able to rummage around their hosts mind, and memories (can fuck up things in tkitn's mind if they really wanted to, fun scenes with this)

Has weather and ice magic abilities (the post with the words "stuck in the permafrost" as a little example) can control the weather in the North

Telepathy with tkitn

Surely this counts -> Being able to physically exhausted tkitn's body (as in, as long as they're in possession of tkitn for any amount of time, literally all of time, even, they wouldn't have to eat, or drink, or any of the survival necessities, but when they unpossessed tkitn, tkitn would feel exhausted because of all that time not doing the necessities, like a status thing rather than a physical thing, if that makes sense)

shadow let's him ride the dark rider with him, but he has to wear a helmet when he does

sonic'll either sit next to him or pull him on his chest because his heartbeat has always helped tails with sleeping (+a few other things, idk tails just really likes hearing his brother's heartbeat) if tails does stir at all, he'll rub the back of his ears to send him back to dreamland :]

since warmer areas tend to help keep the kit sleepin, amy'll grab a heater and point it at the fox to keep him nice and toasty <;3 stay asleep you little fuck

knuckles is gone, left to grab a blanket, a stuffed animal (even thought they're for BABIES (they're not, but tails is vry adament even though he keeps every single one he's given)), and any other one of tails's comfort items that are in a close proximity

shadow's putting headphones over his ears and turning on some white noise that is anything but a storm (or.. attempting. tails's ears are so big, it doesn't quite fit correctly)

ALL of them enforce work breaks and tails is not happy about it

he expected it from sonic and amy because they preach about how taking breaks is good for your mind, also you kinda need to eat to stay alive, and blah, blah, blah..

knuckles originally caught him off guard, but it made more sense once he started his whole "a strong warrior needs the proper rest" speech

he cannot for the life of him figure out why shadow of all people enforces it "you're no use if you work yourself to death" he says, but tails just knows that fucker is hiding something

(it takes him a while to understand people care about him so just.. give it a bit, it'll set it eventually)

god forbid tails says something even slightly self-deprecating because he'll get 4 different talks about how he's literally the coolest person ever, or he shouldn't push himself so hard, or he's doing the best he can and that's more than enough, or that he's just a kid who's given unrealistic expectations from society and he shouldn't force himself to live up to it, and yadda yadda

during autumn, they all burrow together because tails brought up the fact they were all burrowing animals and thought it'd be a cool bonding experience for the five of them (it happens yearly. way past cool, sonic approved typa thing)

i’ve slowly been getting my brother into bsd (we’re on s2) and after trying to explain kouyou for a bit (he likes kyouka too much to tolerate any mistreatment 😭 we are having the same issue with aku. letting him form his own opinions abt this is difficult. he says anything understandably negative and it’s -100hp) we got to the first mark appearance!!! everyone cheered!!!

Sometimes I forget how much I disliked Kouyou originally too until her backstory dropped ( Like chapter 27 of the manga I think ) and we got to see how much she did to ensure Kyouka's safety and happiness in the aftermath of the Guild arc ( like stealing the document about her from the SDUP and negotiating with Atsushi and Dazai )

I really like Kouyou.

I also think the anthologies, side stories, and Wan! lighten the mood regarding Kyouka's relationship with Kouyou and Akutagawa, so it makes sense that he's got a different perspective. Especially coming out of the Guild Arc--I feel like Cannibalism is when we all looked to Fyodor as the Big Bad and realized hey, maybe all these PM folk are fun and interesting too. Also, the first major SSKK working together event. People Died.

The lack of animosity ( between Kyouka and Akutagawa ) in DA really sold me on the fact that she understood him fully after their confrontation. It was also really vulnerable of Akutagawa to admit that to her??? My jaw was on the floor when i first read it. I don't think people recognize Akutagawa's almost suicidal tendencies ( because how could 'those who desire death have an equal desire to die' and him seeing himself in Kyouka who quite literally asks him to cut her down not imply that ) as much as they do the vengeance(BEAST)/survival(canon-'I must see others as worthless if I am to survive') aspect of his character.

First of all, we all have seen how he reacts and stuff with the thought of Cala Maria—it's absolutely adorable how he swoons and stuff just like that over you, before you two get together.

Before dating, he'll probably be a rambler and it would be a lot harder then his crush on Cala—seeing that you work in the same establishment, and with communication a lot for ur job requirements

I'd say you'd somewhat have the same vibe as Cala, like a mature, godly beautiful kind of thing? Does that make sense? Do ppl know what i'm talking abt 😭😭

But BOOM!! that was before you two were dating, and now that you are I wouldn't say a lot is different.

He'll definitely be a lot easier to talk to as time goes on, usually whenever he can— sitting at the bar and ranting about whatever is on his mind. Cuphead? The card tricks from King Dice? Some customers that were there not so long ago, that Mugman could barely bite his tongue at? At some point the conversation moves along or in a full circle, but trust there will be conversation about a new magic book he got his hands on or something at some point.

You're probably more of a listener and him being the yapper, in a situation where he can spurge all his thoughts out for you to here as your serving drunken customers or cleaning up the cups for the night.

And if it's in my more secluded area for the both of you, he may even get more personal like the details of his life with Elder Kettle—and how it was before the whole 'gamble and contact' situation, leading him to work for the Devil himself.

And everytime he gets reminded, he thinks of how your past must be like—especially with the chip in your upstanding ear and the little scar on your jaw. You basically cover your body from top to bottom otherwise, and he doesn't try to think too much about if you have any other scars underneath your clothes for obvious reasons.

There had been times where Mugman notices your feline tail, a part of him wanting to reach out and feeling the distressed fur but refuses to ever actually do it. He finds your cat features interesting, often when it's your turn to speak he'll take mental notes of the ways your ears twitch if Cuphead is talking in the background—arguing with another employee, or something along those lines.

But when you let him feel the fur of your tail, the first time he goes really silent and just seems to be analysising it, but only a moment before he perks up and begins speaking again—his touch still lingering on your tail.

Cuphead is forever teasing him of the both of you, but overall finds you alright to be around. You don't snitch on his harmless pranks, sometimes you even do pranks with him, and he appreciates the loyalty of keeping your word. You sometimes end up playing pool or a card game with Cuphead from time to time, which is alright if he wasn't so competitive, but funny to see him lose all his attempts against you. The difference between you two is that he's impulsive, while you're controlled on your gambling addiction.

Mugman always appreciates your words of comfort or reassurance, especially during a hard or overwhelming day. With your relationship with Cuphead, whenever he rants about him you drop little hints on both sides that's speeds up the process of whatever petty argument they're in currently.

But sometimes you are mysterious and sometimes unreadable to him, like when you two are alone you can be heartfelt and reassuring—but with those of your colleagues, like King Dice or the Devil, you can almost become withdrawn and only speak when you're spoken to.

It's difficult seeing the change, especially when you're so hard to read but when he brings it up—you don't have an explanation—but it gives him more insight on how to read you well, since he seems to be the only one that can really understand the small signals and ect.

Its a really sweet dynamic, I wouldn't say black cat x golden retriever, but I can say it's something along those lines.

And it's very different when the two of you are drunk, you both become lovedrunk and giddy fools—clinging onto eachother and following alone with Cupheads wild activities, that everyone eventually gets involved in willingly or not.

Overall, I say it would be a more talker x listener kind of thing, but the relationship would be based around pure communication—comfort used of both sides, and the two of you having an incredible understanding of eachother. Outside the Devils deals and Cupheads antics, there's a calm and true connection between you two that would be hard to be similar to anyone else's. There's a deep understanding for eachother, and a connection that makes you two seem almost made for eachother :3

Idk I personally relate to him to an significant degree (like I don’t think I’ve ever related this much to a character before ngl) in spite of his flaws. And yet, in saying this (on both tumblr in the past and on other sites), I have been attacked verbally and accused of being somehow misogynistic (uh,,, what? Many of my favorite characters are literally the she-cats, such as Mothwing or Frostpaw or Hollyleaf or Squirrelflight) or even accused of being ‘abusive’ for liking him, which really doesn’t make any sense to me either? He’s not, y’know, Bramblestar or something. This is especially true when it comes to trans headcanons: I personally like to view Nightheart as transmasc like myself because I find a lot of his story elements regarding his name change and identity issues ofc. But,,, whenever I say anything abt this headcanon there’s always some ppl who use it as ammo to accuse me / others of awful stuff. I even got told to unal1ve myself by someone before over this which is,,, not cool. I try not to let this sorta thing get to me but I do feel that it has gotten pretty extreme over this past year and I don’t think it’s okay at all. I just kinda want people to chill a bit and maybe consider that there are better ways to discuss any disagreements they may have over the books and not jump straight into being cruel / accusatory towards them, if that makes sense.

I agree, I understand why people may not like Nightheart but it is completely unacceptable for people to be harassing people like that, I’m very sorry you’ve experienced that. I understand people are frustrated about how the female characters around Nightheart have been written in Sky. But that’s a writing issue and not a reflection on Nightheart himself imo, and it is extremely unfair to judge people for liking him. Especially with as you say Nightheart not being problematic in himself.

Of course it’s not excusable to harass people in any kind of character debate such as this but I feel that the Nightheart hate has become extreme in certain areas given how unproblematic the actual character is, if people enjoy the who he is then let people enjoy him. I find him funny, I like Nightheart, and although I can definitely see the issues with how some characters have been presented to suit his narrative more I still like the character.

Obviously this isn’t all Nightheart dislikers I’m talking about, not by any means, but the minority that do harass people like this are just ruining it for everyone.

I do wonder, obviously without reading Shadow myself, if this is inherently an author issue this stems from. In River the world warped around Nightheart much less and the female family members in his life were treated with more consistent and sympathetic characterisation. That was a Cherith book. People after River disliked Nightheary sure but it was more of a “I find him annoying” thing. Sky is where it all went wrong and where I’ve noticed people taking it out on Nightheart for being understandably upset about Sparkpelt’s and Finchlight’s characterisation changes in that book. That book does have much more emphasis on the Firestar thing from characters who are not Nightheart (in River his frustrations were largely self imposed), and the TC female characters act a lot more unreasonable than they usually would in general. That was a Kate book. Meanwhile I have heard that Shadow, another Cherith book, treats his female relatives much more sympathetically again. So I can’t help feel that author bias may be influencing the writing associated with him here? Sorry to go off on a tangent at the end here but it’s just a thought, and one I wonder if could cause a change in fandom perception of Nightheart again once shadow is out.

ANYWAY... his friends are sick of his shit anyway so when he's like 'ooh new man :3c' theyre already like. shut the hell up brother. but when they meet roman...they can't help but be a /little/ charmed. they wont wingman for aaron bc his lovelife is so radioactive they dont wanna get near that shit. but tbh they do think roman is funny and he fits in with all of their senses of humor and stuff. even aarons childhood bestie (who hates everyone hes ever dated) likes roman so he gets a Good Grade in getting along w aarons housemates. so much to say on this but i'll leave it at that.

i think that they both do this to some degree. aaron is the bigger culprit bc he has a lot of interests roman wouldnt know very much about (specific genres of music, culinary arts, specific horror movies), but they pretty equally yap at eachother! they both have SO MANY OPINIONS on filmbro shit...also roman is actually pretty knowledgeable on art so they can both bounce off eachother about that too! when roman talks abt work aarons eyes do tend to glaze over.

🐕: Do they have any pets together? If one of them had a pet from before their relationship how well does the pet get along with their partner? Do they have the pets approval or does said pet sit in between them and their partner any time they try to make a move?

aaron has a silly lil cat named gustav!!!! thats his baby (adopted the cat after a bad breakup and pair bonded to him Instantly) and he would take a bullet for him. roman never had animals growing up and at first was a little iffy on gustav but eventually he falls completely in love with him. before hes able to have any public pics of aaron he makes a picture of gustav his lock screen on his phone....

gus is iffy on rome at first but after about a month or so of bribery via treats he's chill...he still gets a little jealous and tries to sit between them on the couch and in bed. he also yowls like a bastard outside the door whenever hes locked out.
