How does one make a book mark, I too am now interested in making a Neil Gaiman bookmark
I’m glad you asked.
Step 1: Pick an image and print it out. You’ll need to make it so that the image only takes up a small portion of the page otherwise when it prints it will be too big (I use Canva to do this). Also, if the image has a background, it’s best to erase that and print it on a plain white background. You can erase it on digital drawing apps or really any editing app.
Step 2: Once you’ve printed your image, cut out Neil, very carefully. If you behead Neil Gaiman, there won’t be a Season 3 of Good Omens.
The following steps are for if you would like to laminate him and do not have a machine to do so, like me.
Step 3: Get packaging tape or any other transparent tape that is wide enough to cover Neil Gaiman. Cut a piece that is long enough to cover the height of him and place it on a flat surface, with the sticky side of the tape facing up.
Step 4: Place Neil down on the sticky side of the tape. You want it to be smooth so it is best to put down one end and then slowly smooth down the length of your cutout.
Step 5: Cut off another piece of tape that is around the same length as the first one. Try to line it up as best as you can, with the sticky side facing down. Smooth it out as you place it, as you did with Neil, otherwise you will get bubbles or crinkles in your bookmark.
Step 6: Trim off any excess tape. I like to leave a small space of tape on the edges because it looks nicer and will be more waterproof, tear proof, etc.
Step 7: Put him in the book and either suffocate him between the pages or leave his face peaking out the top of the book so he can watch your every move. (I suggest you don’t suffocate him as he is a national treasure.)
Also! This can work for making stickers as well if you put the first piece of tape facing down on a piece of parchment paper.

in progress Peril bookmark 🫶
Was gonna be Joy Ang style but then went against it because of watercolors. Making a Mike Holmes style one next of Burn, Blister, and Blaze!

ACOTAR Commish
A friend wanted a bookmark for their new reading quest, so I happily took it upon myself to make one of the most EXTRA bookmarks for them. My full write-up of the process is on ko-fi ☆
Worked with watercolors for the first time in forever and fell in love with the process all over again ♡ This is the not-bookmark-sized original art version:
The center is laminated transparency. I only wish the weather was nicer that day to get better pictures, but Mother Nature has its whims.
My indecisiveness when it came to shrinking the final edit down as a bookmark resulted in six different versions 😆
But I had a blast with this. Will definitely be picking up more traditional arts and getting back to some burning this year!
Cheers,
Bea

Almost a year ago I made a Moomin themed gift for my cousin.
It took some trial and error but I managed to sculpt two Moomin heads from apoxie and paint them to make some earrings. Then I painted a little Snufkin protrait and put together a metal bookmark.
It all looks so cute together, I am thinking of maybe sculpting some more little characters and make earrings out of them!

I made a bookmark
Low-key this gives me Headmaster Lou and Dia Akedia vibes. If you can believe it, this was totally unintentional
