Spiral Memoria -The Summer I Meet Myself- is a game developed by Operahouse Japan and published by Digimerce. This game was originally released in mobile systems (Android, iOS) in Japan back in 2015 and was recently ported over to the Switch console this year.

The main character, Miku Asanaga, is just a regular girl in high school. But she has one secret.

Looks like digimerce and opera house put another game on the Nintendo switch (iris school of wizardry -vinculum hearts-). I’m just gonna say that unless you can read the original language it was made in don’t buy the game cause the English translation of the first game they produced (akayashi koi gikyoku -forbidden romance) was absolute shit for the $40 they charged for the game. I would go as far as to say that they scammed money from their English players (its real sus how they only show the art on the preview and not their shit translation) and I’m disappointed in @nintendo for allowing them to even publish another game on the switch

For those interested in Ayakashi Koi Gikyoku, save your money.  It is another mobile port with a translation straight from a machine.  The game also has what seems like choppy or poorly optimized transition scenes, such as when the location changes within the chapter or when you pick the choice that causes the guy’s affection to go up.  Unless you are just desperate to hear more of your favorite voice actor, the game in its current state is not a wise purchase.  

This title and the other current otome titles up on the eShop seem to all have glaring translation issues.  While Aksys and Idea Factory International releases are not perfect, readers are typically not having to interpret what the machine translation is trying to get across throughout the routes in those.  I do not know if Digimerce and D3 saw potential in being the first companies with English otome releases on the Switch.  Being first however will not guarantee success, especially if Aksys and IFI switch to the Switch.

Digimerce Releases a Translation Patch for ISW

Digimerce emailed me to tell me they released a translation patch for "Iris School of Wizardry." I cannot check it now as I am at work and my Switch is at home. 

But, when I do, and I'll probably have to read it again, my review of the game may change. On its original release, the poor translation took a huge chunk off the game’s score. This may get a lot better depending on the translation, as a poor translation, for me, is a huge misstep in an English release.

If it's anything like Ayakashi Koi Gikyoku, it will be going up.
