DCA Headcanons: Interactions with Ever After High Characters (Part 1)

Greetings everyone! It pretty much is no secret to any of you that I’m a huge fan of Ever After High and this is something I’ve been wanting to do for… a very long time: The DCA Characters interacting with the characters of Ever After High!

After seeing a lot and I mean A LOT of EAH x TWST art and stories (more for the former), I thought to myself: What if DCA and EAH interact? Oh wait… And… you know, we’re now here.

Important Note: I’m going to be pairing the characters based on their personalities and interests, NOT the same fairytale character. So we’re not going to have Evonie interact with Apple, Ella interact with Ashlynn (see below), yada yada you get the gist

More Detailed Example: We’re not going to have Ella interact with Ashlynn because while they have the same fairytale, their respective interests don’t match. Ashlynn is fond of nature and shoes (more towards the former) while Ella is fond of fashion.

Anyway, let’s begin with Evonie, Ella, Allison, Briar and Cerule

Evonie Apfel 🍎

For Evonie, I debated on either Raven or Darling, and I felt the former fit better, we’ll return with Darling later down the line. While Evonie’s outer motif is a soldier, there’s another side to her: i.e Her Masked Maiden idol persona and this is where Raven comes in. I’d imagine that Raven would be wandering DCA only to find Evonie singing rock music and Raven startling her by complementing her performance. Evonie in shock would obviously beg Raven not to tell anyone, and Raven promises not to say a word. In fact, I’d feel that Raven would suggest they do a collab, Feathered Mirror (Raven Queen ft. The Masked Maiden).

Ella Glaciel 👠

Ella was unsurprisingly and hilariously very easy for me: Pair her up with Farrah. Reason why? Easy! Both have an affinity for fashion. Heck, maybe Ella and Farrah could make a gorgeous ballgown or two!

Allison Liddel 🐰

I debated on any of the Wonderlandians for Allison, but I figured Kitty would be the best choice, since both are mischief makers and both in a way are rebellious, somewhat. Allison refuses to act like a proper lady while Kitty refuses to obey the rules of destiny. I could definitely see them forming a prank duo (or trio if you include Che'nya) and you know what that means, more babysitting for Evonie…

Briar Auroria 🌹

Finding a match for Briar, that isn’t Briar Beauty was arguably very difficult, since no one in EAH to my knowledge were victims of negligence and Brair’s interests include tapestry weaving, feeding animals and taking strolls, the latter two being associated with nature. So for that, I’d pair her up with Ashlynn, a fellow nature lover. I’d see them taking various nature walks, picking flowers and feeding animals

Cerule Oceana 🐠

This was initially very difficult for me since the only EAH characters with ties to water or the sea were Duchess and Meeshell respectively, but neither’s interests or personalities match that of Cerule’s (Side note: They waited till the very end to FINALLY give EAH a mermaid doll?! That’s bullshit!). Sure, we know that Meeshell is fond of singing and that she’s shy, but that honestly doesn’t match with Cerule. I’d pair her up with Alistair (Note: All of these interactions are platonic, for Cerule’s preferences in a partner: click here) since both are curious about the world around them.

I've been wanting to draw Sun and Moon, but couldn't find a way to draw them in a way that didn't look weird. However, I believe I have a solution. What if the boys were modeled after big cats?

Sun will be themed after a lion and Moon will be themed after a panther! Really lean into the boys being cat-coded here.

Sun HCs:

~movement of rays indicating emotions, stims with his hands, likes to jingle his bells, huge ball of anxiety and OCD, people pleaser, doesn't always know boundaries, short temper

Moon HCs:

~gremlin, he spicy but means no harm, takes a while to warm up to people, very invasive of personal space (it's how he reads people), protective

I can't tell you how many times I wake up at noon and suddenly the while day is over and I'm up at 3 am again!

I just think it would be funny to have Sun aggressively wake someone up too XD

a personal HC of the DCA’s.

There’s a mechanical sensor only in the back of their head that detects light and dark.

that’s why Gregory’s flashlight didn’t work. They don’t use their eyes as a light sensor, they use the literal back of their head.

Oooooooooo I like that HC! It also would make more sense from a design perspective. Little kids can be rough (even when they don’t mean to me) and could knock loosen/damage something from the DCAs face by accident. So things like sensors and all that are on the back, lessening the chance of reviving a hard blow.

On that note I HC that they also have other sensors back there. Like a form of spacial awareness and can ‘see’ behind themselves.

Meaning the DCAs could be seen as doing the mom thing,

Sun: I’ve got eyes at the back of my head! ;)

Kids: *laugh but ignore it and try to pull something*

Sun without even having to turn around: no!

Kids: *screm & scatter*

THE IMPORTANT THING

is that basically, y/n does cute little skits with sun and moon, because they like to act, they are!!! actors! its what they were built for. and eventually the dca catches feelings and hmmmm why do they love doing these scenes with y/n as the love interest so much HMMMM. unfortunately for them y/n is STUPID <3 moon has plans tho

Rozeline Pierrette 📚

Since I refuse to pair Rozeline with Rosabella, for obvious reasons, I decided to go with Cerise. While both have different interests, Rozeline enjoys academics while Cerise is more athletic, there is one thing they share in common: both are hiding secrets. Cerise hiding the fact that she’s not only the child of Little Red Riding Hood but also the Big Bad Wolf, while Rozeline hides her unique magic out of fear that she would be branded as a monster. I see Cerise understanding her situation and promising not to reveal this.

Vidya Nazari 🏝️

Vidya was a very difficult character to pair up with an EAH Character, since Vidya’s interests are gardening and weapon handling, so I decided to focus on the former interest and my closest match was Nina Thumbell, who despite her small size is very fond of nature, heck maybe she could help Vidya with gardening

Jinlong Esi 🐲

Jinlong was arguably rather easy to match up with Darling Charming since both do want to provide that women can be heroes. To quote Darling’s Secret Hearts Desire (which is basically EAH’s way of telling the character’s goal in life) “To show the fairytale world that this princess has what it takes to be the brave hero.”

Elu Sorrel 🐻

For Elu I’d pair her up with Hunter, since both have an affinity with archery, the outdoors and animals. I’d also see Hunter taking on the role of an older brother to her.

Perrine Bousquet 🐸

Perrine was once again another easy one. Pair her up with Ginger Breadhouse. The answer is simple, both have an affinity with the culinary arts.

I am completely and utterly obsessed with the idea of the Daycare attendant being cat-coded.

I mean, just imagine it. You're in the daycare, sitting at the desk doing your job. You have a little figure or something not easily broken sitting on top of the desk and while you're absorbed in your work Sun or Moon comes over and will nudge items off the edge of the desk slowly to get your attention. Or they bring you gifts, not like the typical mice or birds instead it's snacks and crafts.

Moon staring at you from across the daycare during naptime? You bet, all you see is the distant glow of his eyes.

Sun? Near constant zoomies, I swear.

It's just such a silly idea and it brings me immense joy. So many goofy scenarios that could come of it.

What would the animatronic equivalent of Catnip be???

Headcannon that Sun and moon would pick up stupid brainrot terms from the daycare kids.

Like they would all continually say gyatt so Sun started saying it even though he didn’t know what it meant (he feels really bad after he finds out).

One kid is misbehaving and won’t nap, so Moon starts to scold him and the rest of the kids unanimously go “LET HIM COOK”

Sun having to ban mewing in the daycare because the kids would get into arguments about who had the longer mewing streak or were being rude by telling people to mew as a way to tell them to shut up.

Alternatively, Moon telling the night guards to work on their mewing streak to annoy them

Sun would also unironically watch skibbidi toilet (and enjoy it)

Moon telling Sun he isn’t the alpha rizz master (Sun is devastated)
