I worked and lived in and around Washington DC from 1983-1994. I never dreamed when I decided to return to England that 28 years would pass before I returned, but time has a tendency of slipping away.

When I was doing my research for this part of DC, Officina intrigued me as one of those multi-level Italian places with a more casual bar on the first floor and a more formal dining room on the second. (When I was in Toronto, I encountered this as well and enjoyed the experience.) I made it in time to enjoy the happy hour in the cafe, and then I went up to the second floor (where they also have a bar) to get some pasta for dinner, and my pasta alla gricia was good, it was heavy from a lot of guanciale fat. 

My little slice of pizza with prosciutto and arugula was fantastic, as was the crostini with mushroom ragu that I want to recreate at home, so at the very least I got some excellent inspiration from this meal!

Another shot of me as Supergirl in Canary Wharf 🦸‍♀️ As with the other one I posted, there's no way anyone is going to believe I'm in a city in the US like I wanted, cos I'm posing in front of a sign which clearly says CANARY WHARF on it. I really must pay more attention to my surroundings 👀 This time I certainly don't look like I'm about to foil a crime. I'm just reclining in the middle of a square... as you do 😎 Oh and can I just mention again how chilly it was that day ❄️❄️❄️ Just look at how wrapped up some of the people behind me are and you'll get an idea. I guess Supergirl just shakes it off, but I was sure feeling it🥶 Watch this space for more of my cosplay pics 📷and other random stuff.

After a bunch of Marvel posts, I thought it was time I took y'all back to the 💥DCU💥 with another Supergirl pic 🦸‍♀️ This one was taken in Canary Wharf in London. I picked the location because I thought it would be a good stand-in for National City CA 🇺🇸, then had a ditzy moment and posed for a picture in front of a sign with Canary Wharf printed on it in big yellow letters. Somewhat spoils the illusion, doesn't it? Then again, maybe Supergirl is on vacation in England and she's decided to do a good turn while she's here. She's checked a tourist map 🗺️ to see where the trouble is and now she's about to fly into action 🇬🇧 Yeah, that must be it. Anyway, it was kind of cold that day and I was baring a lot of flesh, but as I've mentioned before I don't mind suffering for my art 😉 Thanx for checking this picture out.
