CENTAUR

VS WARFORGED

Apparently the official centaur are FEY centaur. That's why they're person sized, they're elf/pony instead of human/horse. They're strong and perceptive survivalist fey! I refuse to believe I need to explain what a centaur is, or the appeal. They even have enough supernatural strength that they count as if they were a full sized horse for carrying capacity and such. So riding them is still on the table, it's just easier to reach the humanoid half.

Warforged These are sentient mechanical people! They don't need to eat sleep or breathe, and can modify themselves fairly easily. Most are agender, but it does note that some pick a gender they like. They were made to aid with all aspects of war and then...the war ended. Their creation stopped and they were left to fend for themselves. Some just kept fighting for their own sake. Some redefined their life to become obsessed with something new like baking or farming. And some are wandering philosophers, trying to figure out what comes next. What do you do when your life HAD a point and now it's gone?

When Moonshine meets PawPaw for the first time, MeeMaw says, “I swear Moonshine. There’s something about you. Things that don’t belong just find a way of belonging when you’re around.”

MeeMaw’s talking about PawPaw but it’s also true of Hardwon. Especially Hardwon. But Moonshine gives a home to and makes room for every one of her friends. She guides Bev when he’s lost. She welcomes Mavrus and loves Apple. She scoops Tonathan and figuratively never lets him go. She saves Deadeye’s soul. She rehabilitates the dark lord of Shadowfell. She forms a relationship with her father and reunites the Elves. She told Thiala that “You can be quick with kindness,” and she wasn’t wrong. She has lived that philosophy. Hospitality isn’t politeness and etiquette. It’s connection. That’s how she creates bonds between her and people very different from herself. That’s what it means to be quick with kindness. That’s the way of The Crick.

A lil sketch of some Cowboy Centaur Designs I've had rattling around in my head.

Marshall is a half orc(horc), (draft horse) who took a job as a ranch-hand and looks intimidating but is a big softy who loves his flock

Colt is a guy (mustang) who started out super unlucky and gained a reputation as a m*rderer and got run out of town so he ran with it and became the baddest outlaw

Cy is a lil rich boy half summer eladrin (Bashkir Curly) who wanted to be a cowboy, so his parents bought him fancy guns and clothes and hired actors to stage elaborate heroic scenes for him, but then he grew up and they told him to get a job, so he ran away to form a posse and prove he could be the baddest outlaw there was, but he's so dumb and clumsy <3

The first two will be clothed at some point but pssh... bleh... you know?
