Anyone who denies that South Africa is incredibly biased in bringing Israel to the IJC obviously has never educated themselves of how jews were treated in South Africa. See this article here about it as well as some quotes from it below.

Like is that evidence enough for people to finally realize that South Africa has a history of antisemitism and antisemitic people in power? Like Hamas and South Africa have had diplomatic ties for YEARS. This article from 2015 goes into that.

Restoring Regina Twala to her rightful place in history.

Regina Twala is one of those towering intellectuals that you never hear about. But now, thanks to the efforts of Stanford historian Joel Cabrita, the story of Regina Twala is finally hitting the newsstands.

In her book, Written Out: the silencing of Regina Twala, Joel Cabrita examines how both systemic racism and systemic sexism and their gatekeepers, conspired to disappear from public consciousness one of the 20th century's most important thinkers.

In many ways, Regina broke the mould of what an African woman is supposed to be. She was the second black woman to graduate from the University of Witwatersrand, and the first to graduate in social science in South Africa. She was also a popular newspaper columnist, a role in which she examined the misogyny as well as social and racial disparities of her society.

Regina's active politicization began in 1948 following an election that ousted the more intellectually minded Jan Smuts, and changed the course of South African history by ushering in D. F. Malan and his nationalists who'd install 40 years of racist apartheid government in South Africa.

As an IDP from rural Natal courtesy the Native Lands Act of 1913, Regina's new life in Johannesburg allowed her to rub shoulders with the city's intelligentsia. Regina became intimately acquainted with the likes of Nelson Mandela, she travelled the continent as well and met with Pan-Africanists such as Ghana's Kwame Nkrumah.

With South Africa's political space shrinking every day, the country's black elite massed to the African National Congress (ANC) where they took to protesting against apartheid. In 1952, Regina was herself arrested for participation in the non-violent resistance movement. Shortly thereafter, Regina left South Africa for neighbouring Eswatini where she remained until her death from cancer in 1968.

But Regina wasn't just a political activist, she was also a talented researcher and academic. As the recipient of a Nuffield grant, Regina pursued anthropological research into Swati women, their response to cultural evolution, and the weaponization of African culture with a view to keeping women in their place.

And like all true revolutionaries, Regina had her crosses to bear. She was constantly buffeted by two forces; the ignorance and chauvinism of her fellow Africans, and the envy of so called liberal white academics and mentors. The latter either resented that she'd outgrown their patronage, or stole her work. Athropologist Hilda Kuper for instance, effectively quashed the publication of Regina's final work titled "A study of Swati women." Swedish historian Bengt Sundkler on the other hand, plagiarized Regina's research on indigenous Zionist churches and published it as his own.

But whatever she endured in life, Regina remained true to her ideals. Even whilst in exile she was still working to bring about social change. In Eswatini, Regina became one of the founders of that country's party politics, she confronted royalists and criticized the excesses of the powerful, but she also quickly realized that Sobhuza (the paramount chief of Eswatini who'd become the world's longest reigning monarch) had no intention of expanding democratic space for ordinary Swazis.

Zamfara Community Releases Names Of 85 Children, Women, Others Abducted By Terrorists

SaharaReproters had reported how the terrorists kidnapped at least 80 children on Friday morning during a fresh operation in the Tsafe Local Government Area of Zamfara State. The Wanzamai community in Zamfara State's Tsafe Local Government Area has compiled a list of the 85 people kidnapped by suspected terrorists on Friday. Although the victims' ages were not specified, it was learnt that they included women and children. SaharaReproters had reported how the terrorists kidnapped at least 80 children on Friday morning during a fresh operation in the Tsafe Local Government Area of Zamfara State. This was confirmed to BBC Hausa by the parents of the victims who revealed that the children were between the ages of 12 and 17. They added that the victims were in the bush fetching firewood at about 8:00 a.m. when the terrorists rounded them up and marched them away into the forest. A parent who said her 15-year-old son was abducted spoke to the BBC Hausa service about the attack and expressed concern about the children in captivity. “We are worried because we don’t know the condition of our children in captivity,” she said. notes:

the runes here, as far as i can tell, are a bit mixed from different runic alphabets but mainly using medieval scandinavian runes

ᚳ or ᚿ? unclear whether handwriting or different runes.

ᛦ could be y, R, z... but it makes most sense as r here.

þ is pronounced like th, still in modern icelandic f.ex.

æ is representing a sound close to modern scandinavian æ / ä as well as short e.

capital R here represents an old sound close to r and z.

there are more unclarities, feel free to share your opinions!

TRANSLATIONS:

so this is the most interesting part ofc - but all that i can make out from this text, (as a person speaking modern swedish who has knowledge about nordic language and old norse etc), is the parts that seem VERY close to some broken sentences from “the lord’s prayer”, aka “herrens bön” or “fader vår” in modern swedish.

the first hint we get on row 1: “nama, tilk [...] mm [...], rikiæ . sk”. compare to the 1917 version of the lord’s prayer:

Fader vår, som är i himmelen Helgat varde ditt namn. Tillkomme ditt rike. Ske din vilja, såsom i himmelen så ock på jorden.

the next one, which is hard to dispute, is on row 9: “faþæR uoR som“...

it helps here to know that “þ” (th) in many cases evolved into the letter “d” in modern svandinavian language, and that the “æ” (”ä” in modern swedish) sounds very similar to a short “e”. (the sound here written as R is an old norse and european sound that was near both “z” and “r” and appeared mainly at the end of words, where we in modern norse languages mostly have the letter “r”) so while “fader” and “faþæR” may look different if u dont know a lot about the topic, they really arent very different. 

for “uoR”, the sounds are quite similar to “vår” when you pronounce it although ofc lacking the sharpness of the “v”. (”å” is pronounced similarly to the short “o” sound in modern swedish.) looking at the context of the word before it, and the word after it which is spelled the same in modern swedish (”som”), it becomes reasonable to interpret this word as “vår” despite the spelling differences. 

on row 10, i’m curious if the “boior” could be “bojor” (chains), and what the sentence around it would be.

row 11 and 12 are very clearly the same part of the lord’s prayer repeated again:

11: R uoR som æ(?) [unreadable] himlym [covered] 12: a . tilkomma [unreadable] t rikiæ . skiæ þ [covered]

Fader vår, som är i himmelen Helgat varde ditt namn. Tillkomme ditt rike. Ske din vilja, såsom i himmelen så ock på jorden.

EDIT TO ADD LIKE 1 MINUTE AFTER POSTING: 

this sentence that also seems to repeat through the text:

13: malan [malac? manan?] so oh boiordænnæ . fo [covered]

is also part of the prayer!! its just written together in a weird mashed way. split it up to “-malan so oh bo iordænnæ” and we are very close to:

Ske din vilja, såsom i himmelen så ock på jorden.

this shows that we basically have the first part of “the lord’s prayer” in swedish repeating throughout this page.
