I always laugh when anyone uses "blue hair" as an insult, because the punk scene started using wild hair colors specifically to spite conservative values.
Over 40 years later, it's apparently still working exactly as intended.

Hello! I would like to start the path of energy work but I have basically no idea how to. Can you help me? Thank you
A great majority of it is feeling things out (no pun intended). Trying things yourself. Past the basics, there simply is not a lot available.
Let's define some very basic terms so that you can look them up later. Anything past this is honestly something you will have to teach yourself, especially relating to healing work.
Grounding: Sending excess or unneeded energy into an object or a place, usually the Earth or the Earth's core (though this could technically go anywhere), and pulling energy back up to restore your system. This is an excellent way to cleanse yourself.
Centering: Bringing your energy back to yourself from various places that are not yourself, and directly the energy to settle correctly within your body (whether this be through a pillar, imagining it as whole, imagining all your energy centers filled, etc.).
Shielding: Essentially a personal ward, usually shaped in a bubble (though basic bubble shields are ill recommended for a number of reasons). These are not just used in fights, though usually they are consciously employed for these purposes.
Scanning: Examining anything energetic.
Programming: Giving energy instructions on what to do, which is crucial. Something that is already programmed, or rather, made for a specific purpose that is not explicitly a shield, is called a "construct".
"Psiball": An energy ball. One of the basics you will usually want to learn and implement at least a couple of times before moving on to other matters.
There has been a very sharp dwindle in resources since the 2000s-2010s, but some resources and people from there are still around. Unless otherwise listed, materials are completely free.
Energy Work Resources Masterpost--
From least to most accessible (posted in groups of bullet points):
Resources available only through archive, word-of-mouth, or not readily accessible links:
Sordhent's old posts, and especially his guides to energy work and the eldritch. You can obtain these from me or anyone else who has the content stored on their devices.
Any books by Charles Cosimano (archive).
USpsionics, also has resources on the sidebar. (archive)
SacredEmber (warning: very difficult text to read). (archive)
The Veritas Society. (archive)
Robert Bruce, NEW Energy Ways.
Charles Cosimano YouTube playlist.
Old posts by Windvexer, most of which are contained in a masterpost on their new and currently maintained blog.
Resources that still have webpages up (even if they are otherwise defunct:
Psionics Institute.
r/energywork.
As a scholar, I would not *formally* recommend pirated resources for peace of mind, however, they are out there and... some people... may have some links to them. Morally I would implore you to support the author of these works when you can well afford to, even if it is in a different form.
Various books (obviously paid). Some of these are available via audiobook:
Hands of Light by Barbara Brennan.
Energy Work by Robert Bruce.
Subtle Energy by Keith Miller.
The Psychic Witch by Mat Auryn.
Anything by Cyndi Dale.

Do you think Dale listens to Madonna? I feel like he just embodies Like A Virgin because of his inexperience 😭 And the repeated lyric about hearing her heart beat would fit him too, like he is desperately trying to get his s/o to understand that his heart beats for them. also i can hear him singing it in my head, doing a little dance or making his s/o sway with him while they listen.
I I know T.Rex played during the movie, but do you think he would be into 80s pop/any other music besides glam rock? He just screams that to me for some reason. Cyndi Lauper and Madonna mostly, like yes, girls DO just wanna have fun and then he's in his little work bench, making a doll. I imagine rhat would drive ruth INSANE
YESSS OH 😭 imagine him sitting at his vanity doing his makeup listening to madonna… I feel like he’s the type to blast the music so hard the house shakes he’d drive Ruth insane for sure.
I don’t really listen to that type of music or I’d go more in depth with this.. but I do think he’d like to branch out every once in a while and listen to some other stuff!!

Terrence Howard Talks About the 6000-Year-Old Secret of The Flower of Life
youtube
The Flower of Life has mystified civilization for more than 6000 years. Terrance Howard explains the physics, math and logic behind this ancient tool. Existential Knowledge like this from Terrance Howard is surprising, since we never knew he was a physics buff.
Watch This and learn how this Beautiful symbol clarifies Life and Energy as Existence.
What is the flower of life?
The flower of life is one of the most recognized symbols in the ancient and modern world. The sacred geometric pattern consists of 19 intersecting circles spaced evenly from each other that reveal an intricate pattern of overlapping symmetrical flowers.
The striking visual is meant to represent creation, the sacred masculine and divine feminine, and cycles of life, death, and rebirth. Some believe the flower of life is also a key that can unlock hidden knowledge of time and space within its petal-like structures.
"At baseline, it is a geometric form of perfect—and some would say divine—proportion," intuitive energy healer and author of Energy Work for the Everyday to Elite Athlete Cyndi Dale tells mindbodygreen. "The flower of life is a beautiful and ancient symbol that has been depicted in many cultures across time. It's found in Egyptian, Hindu, Christian, Buddhist, Muslim, and Judaic artwork, religious structures, and manuscripts," she adds.
Based on Assyrian relics, historians can date the flower of life to 645 B.C.
Beyond its earliest origins, author of Sacred Geometry: How To Use Cosmic Patterns To Power Up Your Life Jemma Foster shares that the flower of life can also be found in countless temples and sacred sites across the globe, like the 5,000-year-old walls of the Osirian temple in Egypt, where it is burned into the stone as if by laser.
Meaning and symbolism of the flower of life.
"The flower of life represents the cycle of creation and the interconnectedness of all life," Dale says. Spiritually, the symbol can be used as a focus for attaining a sense of enlightenment and the awareness of peace. "It can also be used symbolically as a pathway to seek our personal and unique purpose within the greater universe," she adds.
Beyond its spiritual implications, Dale explains the flower of life also has associations with the chakra system—the main energy centers of the body. When there are no blockages and energy can effortlessly course throughout the entire body, it enables balance to exist between the mind, body, and soul. When looking at the geometric symbol, she says the image is seen to contain the seven chakras aligned in the middle.
"The reason that we typically link a lotus with a chakra—with different chakras shown with different numbers of petals—is that chakras are energetic. Based on nerve plexuses, they each spin at a different rate. Each chakra manages a specific bandwidth of energy, measured by color or sound," she says.
As such, we can work with these sacred patterns to boost our energetic health. Because the flower of life is the visual connection between all living things, it's said to have many benefits. And to reap those benefits, some recommend meditating on the image or wearing the symbol as jewelry to raise your vibration or even as a form of protection.
The flower of life in sacred geometry.
"Sacred geometry is the underlying form or geometry in nature—and not only the environment on Earth but in the cosmos," Dale explains to mindbodygreen, elaborating that the flower of life is considered sacred because these formations are considered one of the most significant patterns in the universe.
If you peer closer at the flower of life, inside you'll see many sacred forms nestled within. Dale notes the structure includes the tree of life systems, a universal code known as the Fibonacci sequence, the Golden Ratio of Phi (a mathematical radio that shows up constantly in nature), and Megatron's cube—which carries the five platonic solids, or foundational shapes of all organic life.
"It is thought that the flower of life holds a secret within it—a circle, which in many cultures, is considered the 'zero point' or the 'origin' of us all," Dale says. "This is the Oneness that ties us together."
What makes the flower of life so meaningful is how it potentially supports emerging scientific theories today. "Recent offshoots of quantum and 'spiritual' physics are suggesting that the universe is conscious, sort of a quantum information field with awareness and that all the energy or data that have ever existed is stored in geometric forms within it," she continues. "We are composed of these same forms and can exchange data with the universe because of it."
How to use the flower of life.
The flower of life is a reminder of unity. To add more connection to your life, Foster suggests drawing the flower of life since the art can be activating for meditation and processing. It also acts as an invitation to resonate at its frequency on a deep cellular level.
"The flower of life is a key ally in raising and protecting the energetic quality that you and your environment are operating at," Foster says.
To mobilize its creative energy, Foster also advises placing the flower of life in your space or onto objects. "This means to come into coherence and to move out of dissonance. [It] brings the surrounding area or object into greater coherence, for example, to restructure water, or to help negate some of the negative dissonances of a laptop," she adds.

Is Empathy A Sin Now?
Tumblr media
This week, I came across a social media post from a Reformed Baptist Pastor that got me thinking.
This particular pastor was incensed at the Episcopal Bishop who pled with President Trump to be merciful during her sermon at the Inaugural worship service in the National Cathedral.
I  saw my fair share of angry social media posts and articles about that moment, including more than a few decrying that a woman was preaching in the first place, which is a whole other issue.
But the post in question from the Reformed Baptist pastor really got my attention.  This is what he said:
Do not commit the sin of empathy. This snake is God's enemy and yours too. She hates God and his people. You need to properly hate in response. She is not merely deceived but is a deceiver. Your eye shall not pity.
There is so much about this message that just saddens me.  The fact that a pastor would be encouraging people to hate is pretty horrible, not to be outdone by likening a woman who is not only a Bishop but a loving and caring minister to something demonic.
But what struck me even more was the very first line: "Do not commit the sin of empathy."
I've lived most of my life in and around churches.  In my childhood and adolescence, some of those churches were pretty far right-wing fundamentalist communities.
But I can never remember when a pastor or teacher in those churches of my youth ever referred to empathy as a "sin."  This shows you just how far we've come in our divided culture.
So let me spend the rest of this Devo talking about empathy because we all need a primer on it.  To be clear, acting with empathy toward others is not sinful; it's loving, kind, and grace-filled, which is what those who say we follow Jesus should be.
Empathy is a powerful force that has the potential to shape not only our individual hearts but also the very fabric of society.
In a world often marked by division, misunderstanding, and strife, the capacity to understand and share the feelings of others can lead to profound transformation.
As Cyndi Dale reflects in her book The Spiritual Power of Empathy, “Empathy is the bridge to the heart of another.” This bridge is essential in forging connections that transcend our differences, reminding us that we are all part of a larger human family.
The Bible beautifully illustrates the God-given essence of empathy in Romans 12:15: "Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn.”
This passage encourages us to share in the emotional experiences of others, highlighting the importance of empathy as a divine calling. It serves as a reminder that our ability to connect with one another on a deeper level is not merely a social skill but a spiritual gift, urging us to act with compassion and understanding.
When we choose to dismiss this gift, we act against our true nature. Each of us has the innate capacity for empathy, a natural reaction to the sorrow and joy of others. By fostering a mindset of empathy, we open ourselves to a world of connection and unity.
Roman Krznaric, in Empathy: Why It Matters, and How to Get It, eloquently states, “Empathy is not just a nice-to-have quality; it is a vital skill for a healthy society.”
When we neglect to empathize, we isolate ourselves from others and contribute to a discord and disconnection culture.
Cultivating empathy is actively choosing understanding over judgment and compassion over indifference. It's about making the conscious decision to see the world through the eyes of others, to listen deeply, and to confront our biases.
In a time when so many find themselves ensnared in the traps of hatred and misunderstanding, committing to empathy can be a radical act of love. Each act of empathy becomes a ripple, reaching far beyond the immediate moment to influence our communities and, ultimately, the world.
As we reflect on our lives, let us consider how we can embody this transformative power. How can we listen more intently to the stories of those around us? How can we reach out to those suffering and joyfully celebrate with those in elation?
Each small gesture counts. A smile, a moment of attentive listening, or a kind word can plant the seeds of change within our hearts and the hearts of those we encounter.
In this time of polarization, let us embrace our capacity for empathy as a beacon guiding us toward connection and healing. The journey may be arduous, but it is one well worth undertaking.
By cultivating empathy, we can illuminate even the darkest corners of our culture, building a world that reflects the understanding and grace that God intended for us all. Together, let us commit to being bridges of empathy, transforming our hearts and the world around us.
In doing so, we can truly embody the spirit of love and unity that the human experience so profoundly needs and the grace of God, which needs to be shared.
May it be so, and may the grace and peace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with us all, now and forever. Amen.
