Cyberweek Day 2 - Role Reversal

I have so much to say about this, but I'll try to keep it short. To get a little meta, the role of Matt, Jackie and Inez in Cyberchase is essentially to teach children about math. More importantly, they demonstrate there's more than one way to take on this often feared subject.

Some people need all the facts, some need to organize what they know first, and some need to jump right into it. There's no wrong way to learn, but sometimes these methods work best together! That's what these three represent, and what I wanted to play around with!

Cyberweek2023 Day Two: Role-Reversal

I think I went a little overboard with this one. Explanation below the cut.

The basic idea was that Hacker’s team and Motherboard’s team switch roles. I was having trouble thinking about how this would, but then I thought a little more about the current state of the internet and corporate interest in controlling it, and it wasn’t too hard to turn Motherboard into a totalitarian dictator and Hacker into a well-intentioned extremist.

The story starts out the same way as the show, with Motherboard as the benevolent ruler of Cyberspace, with Marbles as her right hand. Marbles creates Hacker, Hacker creates Digit, everything’s good. Then, suddenly, Motherboard begins acting strange. She begins cracking down, creating harsher rules and harsher punishments, banishing people on a whim. When Hacker uncovers evidence that she plans to begin erasing undesirable sites, he, Digit, and Dr Marbles stage a coup. Unfortunately, Marbles turns on them for no discernable reason. Hacker gets his battery drained, more or less torn apart, and banished to the Northern Frontier. Digit, they keep.

Hacker uses the limited resources available to him to repair himself, as well as create a special battery that would allow him to function at full power, with the cost of basically immobilizing him. He then creates Buzz and Delete, and the three go about attempting to liberate Cyberspace, with limited success. Motherboard keeps a tight reign, and the people fear her. In the process, they learn Digit has been reprogrammed and is now a loyal footsoldier for Motherboard. The virus is a last-ditch effort, though in this reality Hacker is not happy to involve real kids in his rebellion, but no matter how hard he, Buzz, and Delete worked, they weren’t making a dent.

The trio getting sucked into Cyberspace was a mistake. Motherboard reacted violently and opens the portal that brings the children in. Hacker, who hadn’t even known Motherboard had that power, sends Buzz and Delete to protect the kids. The first episode revolves around getting control of the Portal system to send them home, though at the last second the kids decide instead to keep Digit and Doctor Marbles from getting the Encryptor chip that would restore Motherboard.

Now rebels trapped in Cyberspace, Matt, Inez, and Jackie join the side of the Freedom Fighter Hacker, in hopes of freeing the internet and going home someday.

Hey, everyone! It's almost that time again!

This is a post asking for your help, though! And I think it might be pretty fun!

I'm asking you guys for prompts this year. I have asks turned on (no anon, sorry!) And I ask you send me 5 prompts or ideas you want to suggest. We'll have seven total for cyberweek, but I'm asking for the 5 you most want to suggest. Try not to send multiple asks.

I am only taking suggestions from people who follow this blog. You may follow right before suggesting!

I also prefer that you're planning on joining cyberweek. I know not everyone can, but this isn't supposed to be an opportunity for people to ask for requests. (And I'm pretty experienced in spotting such people.)

I will try to pick prompts one week before Jan. 15th!

Some things to keep in mind to help your prompt be picked:

Should be Vague or Simple, One or Two words only (put a comma between each prompt if you're suggesting more than one!)

Should be easy to understand! [I always overexplain the prompts, but they should be easy to understand at a glance for most.]

Baring the above in mind, you may put a small explanation of a prompt in ()'s [Remember asks have a limit! Or Tumblr might eat your ask or... idk!!]

Should be something a majority will enjoy or can participate in (Something not everyone may enjoy is self-shipping. Most entries are a visual medium so don't suggest something only a musician can do.)

Should go without saying but nothing NSFW [Lewd isn't allowed and things like light gore are up to the artist but shouldn't be "required"]

Your ask will NOT be public, so don't feel shy! Anon is off only to help prevent spammers.

And that’s a wrap today is day 7 of @cyberweek. I am so proud of myself for putting work into this awesome week and I had a lot of fun. today was awesome and time crushing(cause I was trying to stay on schedule and make myself feel better cause cyberchase isn’t the only anniversary I was celebrating). But allas cyberweek is over, hope to see ya’ll next year 🙋🏽‍♀️

@cyberweek 2 is Role Reversal, so I decided to draw an AU of mine, Frozen In Time AU! Instead of Coop disappearing, Slider was the one who took the NIC and ended up disappearing. Little did Coop know, Hacker ended up putting Slider in a frozen cryostatus to blackmail Coop into giving him the NIC, which he didn't have. Once Slider escapes, he finds that five years have passed, and Coop is a tad disbelieving that his miraculously returned son is the same age he was five years ago until Slider pulls out the NIC.

A weeklong celebration of our favorite edutainment program with artistic prompts everyday! The show first premiered on the 21st so let’s celebrate!

What sort of Art is allowed?

Any! Traditional/Digital art, Writing, Cosplay, Video edits, anything you can make! Anything you wanna make! Sew a doll, bake a cake, whatever! Sadly, prompts aren’t made with all types of art in mind, so feel free to interpret them however you want to fit your medium!

The final day! And Cyberchase's Anniversary!!

For this prompt we peel back the surface layer of the show to take a look at behind the scenes! What exactly does this mean? That's up to you to decide! Whether it's the characters downtime or you're literally breaking the fourth wall, what goes on behind all the action and adventure?

Hey guys it’s day 5 of @cyberweek I’m a tad bit late with this one(especially since I forgot about it) and this was rushed but at least I made it

Day Four of @cyberweek is OC! I do not draw or talk about these kiddos enough- BUT meet Slider's kids in the future! Asher (They/them) is a middle child at age 9, and beat one of Slider's old skating records that their sister hasn't beaten and is bragging about it, Ivy (She/Her), is also a middle child at age 11, and has made it her mission in life to beat all of Slider's old skating records, she also has the motto of talk shit, get hit with her siblings! Astro (He/him) is the oldest at 12 (And the most responsible) and usually is the one to go along with plans unless one of his siblings might get hurt. Last but not least is Lancer (He/Him), the baby of the family at age 8. He's a bit of an instigator, but doesn't actually mean any harm, he's just mischievous.
